A Twisted Turn of Faete
From magical flower rings popping up out of nowhere, mysterious knights displaced out of time, and shapeshifting fae causing trouble all across Charon, the widespread chaos seems to be reaching a breaking point.
Reports of sudden and dramatic changes to the landscape of the Sunset Plains in King's Valley has reached the ears of the Crown. The Knights of Duros first responded to the call for aid from the Horse Tribes of King's Valley, however the situation is spiraling out of their control as they're beset by creatures not native to the region and unpredictable weather conditions.
Spontaneous floods, fires, blizzards and droughts, swarms of insects thick enough to blot out the sky, ear-piercing screeches and blinding lights, whatever is causing this is wreaking complete and utter havoc across the region, and it appears to have not intention of stopping.
The Crown has once again put out a call to arms for all willing and able adventurers to respond to the crisis before another earthshaking catastrophe can reshape Charon as we know it. Will you answer the call and uncover the entity behind this once and for all?
This Raid Event will take place in the Sunset Plains of King's Valley.
SIGN-UPS ARE CLOSED
Please make sure to read the entire event post before signing up to avoid being disqualified.
Sign-ups will close on Friday, June 28th at 11:59 pm ET. All participant inventories will be converted into PDF files. The Raid Event will start on Wednesday, July 3rd.
Raid Basics
A Raid is a high-difficulty staff-run event designed to challenge players and their teamwork.
A raid thread will consist of a single thread in which all participants will reply once per round in response to a prompt made by a member of staff. Staff will act as a narrator and provide updates on outcomes of actions taken at regular intervals. Raids are considered Site versus Staff events, meaning staff are in control of all enemies, traps, puzzles, and obstacles.
Player characters will need to utilize everything at their disposal to overcome the raid challenges. When making replies to the topic, participants need to be as detailed as possible, describing everything their character does to the best of their ability.
Character inventories will be considered locked for the Raid once sign-ups close. All participant inventories will be converted into PDF files and provided to each player for their reference. Players are welcome to alter their inventories on Proboards while the event is ongoing, but can only use the PDF copy of their inventory in the event itself.

IMPORTANT: After sign-ups have closed, please do not add anything to your inventory until you have received a copy of your inventory PDF file. If we see that your Inventory was edited between sign-ups closing and the raid starting, you will be disqualified.
Please let us know if you do not have a way to open PDF files and require a plain text, word doc, or google doc version.

Activity Commitment
This is a collaborative event and a high level of activity is required. Once the topic starts, each participant has from Thursday 12:01 am ET to Sunday 11:59 pm ET to reply. If a participant does not post within the time frame, they will be skipped and anything happening to their character will be considered an auto hit.
(We understand life happens and can make exceptions if something serious occurs.)
Success and Failure
The Site wins the Raid by defeating the Boss creature and surviving the encounter, but victory will not come easily and will require a certain level of teamwork and collaboration with your fellow players. A coordinated effort of Offensive, Defensive, Buff, Debuff and Support actions will be needed to overcome this major threat.
Damage will be tracked mechanically for this event. Each player character will have a total of three major wounds they can receive before they are knocked unconscious and are forced to abandon the event (you will be knocked out on the third major wound). If a character is knocked unconscious, they can be revived once by one source of major healing, and their accumulated wound count is reset to one minor wound.
Most forms of damage will add a wound, but wounds can be healed also. Healing magic will remove a wound, however that specific spell can no longer heal wounds from that target. Some wounds may not be able to be healed by certain spells, such as major wounds being healed by minor healing spells.
Rewards
Every participant in the Raid will receive 1 Renown, a unique event-specific badge to display in their signature, and a Unique crafting material.
If you are disqualified or removed from the event, or participate in less than 50% of the event's rounds, you will be ineligible to receive event rewards.
How to Enter
To enter the Raid, reply to this thread with the character you would want to use during the event. Players with multiple characters are asked to select only one character to enter.
Only player characters with a minimum of 50 posts qualify to participate in this event and players must be in good community standing. If for any reason you are ineligible to participate in this event, Staff will notify you privately through Discord.
Sign-ups will close on Friday, June 28th, at 11:59 pm ET. The Raid itself will start Wednesday, July 3rd.

Raid Rules: A Twisted Turn of Faete
For this event, the following rules apply.
Action System
This event will be run using the Action System during the entirety of the thread.
While the Action System is active, each player character can take up to TWO Actions as defined in the Action System.
To keep things as simple as possible for readability, ease of writing/tracking actions, and fairness, there are a few special limitations on Private NPCs which are described below that only apply for this event.
Private NPCs such as summoned creatures, minions, and pets can take up to ONE Action as defined in the Action System (this must be detailed in the body text of your reply as well as included in your Action Summary at the end of your reply).
Standard Private NPC rules pertaining to NPC caps on minions, pets, and mounts apply.
NPC Guidelines
Positioning System
As per feedback from our previous event, we are implementing a new system to help players coordinate their efforts and understand when different actions impact them based on their location on the battle field. We will be using four quadrants - North, East, South, West - to indicate where you are in relation to the battlefield.
In you Action Summary each round you will need to indicate which quadrant you are ending your reply in and if during your reply you are moving from one quadrant to another. Please also indicate what your character's elevation is, whether that is below ground, on the surface, or in the air.
Quadrants that share a side can be moved between in a single reply with no mobility enhancements or buffs. Quadrants that do not share a side can only be reached in the span of a single post if you have some sort of mobility enhancement or buff active.
Wound System
Damage will be tracked mechanically for this event. The Wound System works on a "three-strikes, you're out" basis, meaning that each PC can take up to three major wounds, but upon that third major wound they fall unconscious. Two minor wounds equal one major wound.
Private NPCs are not as powerful as PCs, as such they are a bit more fragile. Private NPCs can take up to two major wounds before they fall unconscious. Two minor wounds equal one major wound.
If a character is knocked unconscious, they can be revived once by one source of major healing and their accumulated wound count is rest to 1 minor wound. Alternatively, a player with an unconscious character may choose to depart from the event and still earn the rewards for their contributions to the event.
Most forms of damage will result in a wound, but wounds can be healed. Healing magic will remove a wound of equivalent severity, however that specific spell can only be used once per target. Some wounds may not be able to be healed by certain spells, such as major wounds being healed by minor healing spells.
Types of Wounds
Types of Healing
1 - works on self only, one use per weapon with the enhancement.
2- can only be used outside of combat due to the time needed to dress a wound.
3 - works on self only.
4- can restore missing limbs.
Staff Note: If you notice any spells, abilities, or items that are not covered in the above list that would pertain to this system, please let us know so we can make this guide as complete as possible! Thank you for your cooperation!
