Sarne watched Kamille take off with a gust of wind. he looks at her "Not so fast Kamille." shouts Sarne his tone almost sounding angry. [1] Sarne pointed his arm and his sword appeared in his hand as a flash of crackling gold energy shot out. Kamille Kalaf and Disaster lined up the beam of energy went through all of them. They glowed with a gold light as they heald. Sarne was trying to make it look like he was attacking Kamille. [2] Sarne crossed his shield arm reaching into his cloak as the knights dealt with recovering from the blast of wind from Disaster. The wind died Sarne gave them their next problem as he tossed the Glass orb in front of them. The glass shatters, and black smoke fills the area the 5 Knights of Duros and 1 WEF Drake Rider come into contact with the smoke their eyes, nose, and lungs, start to have intense burning and irritation. Sarne slides off his mount and disappears into the shadows. [3] Nordic The dwarf grumbles to himself not liking what was going on. Front C'Leena Thomas clears herself of the sap and is no longer blinded. Marion Aurea gets healed by C'Leena Thomas as she land next to them. C'Leena Thomas ’s yelling doesn’t seem to go over well with the guards, however one gets distracted by Marion Aurea . Their face contorts a little, like they just got a migraine. They rub their eyes and blink away the thin soapy film on their eyes. They nod in agreement. “Stand down. These ones are here to help!”“Help?” One of the other knights frowns before looking at @yokai currently attacking a WEF rider. “You call that helping??”Mikael Mooreson ’s hand lands on the second knight and he chills out a bit, but doesn’t seem completely in his right mind. “Look, we have our orders. If you want to help then just surrender.” Javal Zarrias water whips connects with the drake rider’s drake’s tail and the creature hisses and turns its attention to him only to get its face blasted with a light arrow. The other WEF riders are too focused on defending Lady Astrid Stormstone to get riled up by his call, but the one he attacked swoops down and makes a talon swipe at his head. The area in the FRONT grows even darker and the rest of the knights are on edge, searching for anyone hiding in the shadows. @shitakibo would notice that the lack of light helps distort the buildings on the FRONT, but the knights do not seem to find this strange. A bolt of light from Fish the Tinkerer then strikes one spot on the FRONT not that far from the group. The light distorts and the bolt is bounced back into the air, as if it was refracted by something. Beak rises from the ground and surrenders. As one of the knights approaches to arrest her, wary of the very obviously skeletal hands she offers forwards, she casts calm emotions. The guard’s apprehension ebbs, but he still locks a set of manacles on her wrists. “Sorry about the inconvenience, miss. We appreciate your cooperation.” The other knight’s attention snaps to Rena Brighteyes as she casts magic and raises the undead right in front of his eyes. “NECROMANCER! I NEED BACK UP!” He lunges forward and slashes at Rena Brighteyes . Hearing the knight’s shout of alarm, the remaining knight not charmed by Marion Aurea or calmed turn their attention to Rena Brighteyes and rush to surround her and the undead summons. Left Lady Kamille Verlithax is quick to take back into the air, which gets a pair of the knights to shout at her to land immediately. They pull out bows and arrows and fire a few at Kalaf’s underbelly. Unfortunately the WEF riders are too focused on Lady Astrid Stormstone to pursue the woman even after Lord Sarne Sequoia fires a sword strike at her. The two knights rush Sarne after he seemingly tries to attack someone else and get a smoke bomb to the face for their trouble. They hack and cough from the irritating concoction while Sarne escapes into the back alleys. The remining knight arrests Hector when he tries to stall. The skies darken and then Mayhem crashes down on the REAR flank. This flashy display catches the WEF member’s attention. “Hurry! We need to stop these lunatics and protect the child for the Queen!” Two of the WEF riders rush to the REAR flank to deal with Mayhem, while the remaining two stay with Lady Astrid Stormstone . Right Shaa Rhunn heads down tunnel after the sandworm and golems who start ripping apart all the glowing mushrooms. Upon destroying the mushrooms, they emit a toxic spore cloud which stings the skin and lungs. The golems are unaffected, however Shaa and the sandworm are quickly engulfed by the cloud. It makes it very hard to breathe and see. . Hylltywyll continues down the tunnel with Kvasir Sigurrós . They’re quick to sees a spore cloud expanding into their tunnel from a point up ahead where the path Shaa Rhunn , the golems, and the worm were on connects with Hylltywyll and Kvasir Sigurrós ’s path. Cypress Springleap picks one of the glowing mushrooms to use as a light before diving into the tunnel on her own. Continuing down the tunnel, the path also connects with the ones Kvasir Sigurrós , Hylltywyll , and @crimson are in. Morrigan Moonweaver ’s enthusiasm at the knight’s realness only leads to a more confused look on the knight’s face. “Wait, what do you mea-” And now he’s asleep. The knight slumps to the ground and Morrigan Moonweaver has a hell of a time trying to lug the heavily armored knight into their hat for later. The buildings distort around Morrigan Moonweaver as they traipse through the city as if whatever magic is creating the buildings is disgusted by their mere presence. It doesn’t dispel the effects though, confirming that whatever is going on is not a spell per say, but still magical in nature. As Morrigan Moonweaver approaches the location identified by Fish the Tinkerer , they find that the air grows denser and resists their approach as if gravity is pushing outwards from the spot. Natsunats-Shun is healed by @kvasir and remains in the snow fort. The two WEF riders remaining with Lady Astrid Stormstone guard her closely. One become subject to her influence even further and he eagerly takes the fake missive and nods. “Yes, of course! Take my hand.” He offers his hand to her should she choose to take it. Meanwhile, Lady Astrid Stormstone ’s minions get to crafting which does attract the attention of the four remaining knights on the RIGHT flank. The knights attempt to arrest the Alphabetsrids and detain Buttfellow. Rear Gwendolyn Mystwud ’s group moves unseen... and then Gwen jumps into the air then sends a giant beam of light into the center. This draws all the attention from the knights on the REAR. They spread out and try to find her and the others hiding in the shadows. Vail remains undetected when entering the mushroom covered tunnels found inside the buildings. Sound is more muffled as if they are actually underground, if even smells of fungus and dirt. Vail would hear the sound of one knight searching for the invisible group from behind. The other two knights rush to fight off Mayhem who has been summoned to the REAR. They attempt to strike down the summon before it can cause more damage to the area. The remaining Deeptusk is spooked by the loud noise from the center and careens through the crowd and city to escape. Two start to close in on where Lady Keyke Runi is hiding which she can easily see using her cloud gazing spell. She would also see the bolt Fish the Tinkerer fired into the area and watch as it ricochettes off at a weird angle after passing through one spot on the REAR flank.

Fish furrows their brow as they watch the bolts go sideways and explode into the ground. Certainly not the intended outcome, but important data was required. They hop off the building and float their way towards where they left Morrigan. Little talons carry them quickly across the right flank to where they last saw the fellblood. They scowl harder seeing the distortion still remains, gaze snapping to Morrigan, "It didn't work?" It is hard to tell, but for once Fish is not annoyed with Morrigan Moonweaver . Just the fact that something didn't go as planned, neither of them knew what would and wouldn't work at this point. Fish isn’t the only one that’s irritated by this development. Morrigan has always been able to harness this unwanted facet of themselves, and now of all times the stupid curse decides not to work? “It must not be a spell. Spells are easy, concentrated. Magical effects are like a horrible, big wet soggy blanket.” They wipe a bead of sweat from their brow. They’ve never unwoven this much arcana before all at once."Can Morrigan heighten their anti-magic?" Fish looks to where Mayhem lands as Morrigan explains. “I can try.” This much at once; they had no clue what would happen. Absorbing magic was like eating a food you had an allergy to… one you couldn’t process. But when had they ever shied away from taking a risk? They flashed Fish another flippant grin, hoping that the bird could not see the tension in the movement. “Let’s see what I can do. You might want to back away though, no? If I take away too much… well, magic is akin to life. Take that away, and it becomes hard for others to live. Yada yada. You get it. Point is, give me the stage. It’s my time to shine.” They squint and focus in on Mayhem as Morrigan talks...Strange that Mayhem didn't get repelled, but still seemed to have no impact on the distortion itself. It was there, but it wasn't......What was going on? Fish snaps their eyes back to the distortion by Morrigan. The formulae arcanum is very strange...Fish doesn't fully understand it, but best they can gather is there is some kind of space magic. It would make sense, space magic often deals with distorting space and time....Maybe that was the key to this. "Fish has an idea." And with that the bird begins to sprint away from Morrigan. Fish then taps their ear to focus on the Inked Marking, "Aunt Lady Kamille Verlithax , Fish has discerned the distortions are Space Magic in nature. Fish will be going in to investigate the front area, tell anyone else with space magic to prepare something depending on what Fish discovers." Once they reach the FRONT FLANK, they quickly tuck themselves into the shadows and out of sight from anyone. They rotate a ring with a purple gem embedded in it that they wear as a bracelet so the gem faces them. Their beak opens, but Kamille's voice comes out as they cast a spell. As Fish's body slumps over in the shadows, an ethereal form appears. This new ghostly Fish continues to hold to the shadows as they head towards the distortion. The plan is to try and step inside to see what they can learn while between worlds or if they can even get close to the distortions.
Plot Summary: Seeing the physical attacks do not work, Fish has another plan. They move from the RIGHT to the FRONT FLANK with a burst of speed and then cast astral projection. Astral Fish moves towards the distortion in the Front Flank to see if they can enter it. 1. Support Action: Adrenaline Rush 2. Support Action(?): Astral Projection (cast through Kamille's eternity ring)

"Wait- wait!" Marion almost tripped over himself in the darkness as he ran to put himself between Rena and the knights, judging by the sound of where they are- fully intent to take the swords for her, but then, he is not quite sure where it would land.
He had seen how the soap-like gleam left the eyes of the knight he had talked to. If only he can get the rest to hear reason, before anything irreversible comes to transpire. "Stand down- stand down! She is a friend. Are'nt there more pressing matters at hand? Look around! This is not- it's not normal, this isn't home. You are under influence- "
Balling his fists around Idun, Marion shouted out in front of him.
"- And, we, us, are here to fix this. Join us or leave us be, until the deed is done- after that you can do what you see fit, arrest, whatever! Would you not save your home as well?"
It was scary, and the fear bleeds out into his voice. He have no idea what the fae intend on putting them through, and as of now it seemed like it can do pretty much anything- Marion have no way of knowing, and in the dark, this fear only amplifies itself. But-
Courage is not the absence of fear. Marion steadies himself against Idun, and breathes out a shaky breath. He had never really liked the dark.

It took considerably more time and effort to get the knight into their hat than Morrigan expected. Who thought that a knight in full armor would be so heavy? But they managed; and the confused, but peacefully slumbering man was safe and snug within the pocket of space woven within the hat’s enhancement. Was there any particular reason for this action? Was Morrigan experiencing a flash of genius or madness? They liked to think they walked the line between both… and while they marched to the beat of their own drum (a tune they didn’t even understand all the time), this move seemed stranger than most.
But it would be advantageous to keep a knight with them, no? There were so many here, all presumably under the same enchantment. One that Morrigan had barely been able to unravel, potent as fae magic was. What would happen when the uneasy peace was broken, and all of these knights were slaughtered? Having rescued at least one to validate their story and glean some answers from would seem prudent. Think of it like… security.
With that taken care of, they were free to investigate this distortion that Fish was talking about. It was at that moment - knight kidnapped, and a voice that sounded suspiciously like Astrid Stormstone rang through the air, that all hell broke loose.
The chaos allowed them to slip through the battlefield, untouched by the spellbound knights or the drakeriders above. Their only resistance was the magic itself. A present force, beating upon the foreign infection within its bloodstream. When you had a virus, you purged it, after all. Buildings swayed and bent away, as if so disgusted by them they fought the very nature of Morrigan’s existence that they would break the illusion itself to get away. But they did not break - not fully.
Morrigan clicked their tongue.
This wouldn’t do.
The air itself shimmered akin to a desert mirage as Morrigan came close to what could only be the distortion itself. Gravity and force repelled them, almost as solid as a real barrier. The message was clear. KEEP OUT.
Morrigan did so delight in breaking into places they weren’t allowed.
Motion in the corner of their eye caught Morrigan’s attention once more. Fish. It was difficult for the charlatan to read the bird, even given their knack for picking up the minutia of emotion. But given the bird seemed especially ruffled and snappier, Morrigan could guess the plan had failed.
Fish scurried off, enacting phase two of the plan. Once they were a safe distance away, Morrigan pulled their fan from their hip and began waving it delicately in front of their face, as if staving away the sweat that had already begun to seep through copious layers of glitter. Ugh. That was much better. Rest assured that they were going to be enjoying a long soak in a rose-petal bath after this.
The fellblood’s gaze drifted towards the remaining knights.
Hmm.
Well, Morrigan did always perform best with an audience!
The charlatan fluttered the fan, ethereal bellchimes clinking in the air as they did. No charming magic involved; just the graceful move of Zeinavian circus dancers, as fluid as the oasis.[1] As the bells echoed, Morrigan called over to the knights with a coy wave, “Oh, boys! Criminal activity is happening over here! It looks like I’m trespassing on private property… looks like you’re going to have to apprehend me and take me to your queen, no?”
Better to play into their charm than against it. If they were compelled to apprehend the group, then all the easier for them to follow their commands if Morrigan gave them reason to. And just like flies willing themselves into a pot of honey, they’d hopefully obey; giving Morrigan ample time to up the ante. The magic wanted to resist them?
It had been inscribed since before Morrigan Moonweaver - no, Kaivalya Hridyanshu’s - birth, that they’d never know the gentle caress of mana. That which made up the life force of the material plane, the entire Land of Wonder. An infant that weak…
Well. They were never projected to have a king and prosperous life.
Pity was the poison that had fueled their spite, long nights spent in a closet with a single, unlit candle until they exhausted themselves. No more. There was no point in chasing impossible fairy tales, throwing themselves upon empty pyres, and hoping the result might be different. Morrigan had always so despised themselves for what they could be; what they couldn’t be. They did not have to find love in their heart for themselves or stand on ceremony to make use of the true power they did have. Something darker. Something more potent.
A well-placed thorn in the foot could cripple any giant.
So Morrigan focused - more concentrated than they’d ever attempted. It was almost as if they could feel the strands of formulae in the air around them, a rich tapestry, a story only they could see. One where strands broke wherever the touched, came apart merely by virtue of being close to them. Once upon a time, Morrigan might have cradled broken strings in their palm and wondered if things would be different if they were gentler. Kinder.
Not this time.
Morrigan grasped that sensation and pushed it outward, further… further. Eating more than they ever had in their entire existence. Unraveling the very fabric of reality, drawing it all within them.[2] a black hole of pure, arcane energy, sucking in and destroying all it could reach.
They would dismantle this Queen’s castle with their bare fucking hands, if they had to.

Hylltywyll crept along noiselessly down the dark tunnels, looking around and taking in the new environment. There were large, glowing mushrooms all over. He didn't hate mushrooms. He'd even spent a while living in a little burrow dug under the cap of a giant one in the Giant Mushroom Fields. He was pretty used to them. He wasn't as familiar with these mushrooms as those ones though, and didn't know this terrain at all. Thinking of that, he realized he had something that might help. Hylltywyll pulled out a rolled up piece of slightly soggy parchment from his shadow and unfurled it, letting the ink spread across it and map out the area. Hopefully this would help with navigating these tunnels, and maybe reveal some shiny trinkets he could maybe steal later. As he walked along with the map in hand, he listened to Astrid talking to him through the mental link. Hm, so that was what happened to the link with Morrigan. Idiot broke it themself. And the knights being magically influenced wasn't surprising. It was interesting to find out Astrid could teleport to Cypress. Hylltywyll could also teleport Cypress to him, but that would consume the mark he'd placed on her. "Egh." He let out a grumble of annoyance as a cloud of spores suddenly started expanding into the tunnel ahead of him. He stopped walking and even took a few steps back to avoid the cloud. He was used to mushrooms, but that didn't mean he liked walking through clouds of spores, especially when he didn't know if those spores were toxic. Or magical, considering they were dealing with Fae right now. They could be memory erasing, mind altering, any number of magical effect. Maybe these mushrooms were even what was making those knights outside act so strangely. Hylltywyll was fairly resistant to toxins. He was surprisingly resilient for such a small creature, and most poisons barely worked on him if at all. He wouldn't lie and say he was completely immune though. A powerful enough toxin could still harm him, though less than it would harm most others. That wasn't even mentioning if they were magical or something. And he wasn't alone here. Who knew how resistant to toxins the fox man behind him was? "How resistant to possibly toxic mushroom spores are you?" Hylltywyll asked Kvasir Sigurrós , turning around to look at him with one eyebrow raised. "Oh, and the idiot is still alive, just in an anti-magic zone that cut off the connection." He added with a sigh in a tone of mock disappointment. Hylltywyll sensed through the mark that Cypress was not that far away and was getting closer. She was also underground? Did she find her own way into these tunnels? And now that he was listening, he was pretty sure he could hear something farther down the tunnel, on the other side of the spore cloud. Was something else down here? Knowing Kvasir would be fine walking through the cloud of spores, Hylltywyll quickly prepared himself. He made sure his goggles were protecting his eyes and pulled the front of his hood up over his mouth. He might be resistant, but he was still cautious. He wouldn't stay in the cloud for long and he'd try to breathe in as little as possible. With his mask of memories attached to the side of his head to make room for his goggles, he scurried through the cloud quickly until he made it out the other side. As he ran through, he was pretty sure he saw some large figure and some other shapes among destroyed mushrooms. He didn't take the time to sightsee though. As soon as he was out of the cloud, he magically cleaned himself off like he had with the glitter, wiping the spores away to make sure they wouldn't affect him.

That didn't work nearly as well as Beak was hoping it would. Beak was hoping that her calming magic would completely counteract the charm effect that the knights seem to be under, that all she had to do was calm them and they'd come back to their senses, possibly saying something like, "Huh? Where am I? Oh, wow, thank you for saving me, kind stranger! Let us join forces and fight this fiend together henceforth!" Maybe it was a little idealistic, in hindsight. Instead, the calming was... let's just call this a partial success. The knights are indeed calm enough to speak to her politely and apologetically rather than attempting to cut her down where she stands, but she's still being arrested. And now her hands are in manacles. And-- “NECROMANCER! I NEED BACK UP!” Tear and wad the pages. That's bad. That's very bad. That's... and she can't even... she's in manacles, the guards would be on the alert for any sudden moves or signs of hostility, she can't even reach them with her telepathy... tear from the Book itself, how can she- "Wait- wait!"And just when she was cursing her own lack of options, Marion Aurea swoops in to defuse the situation. Bless him. Stars above, what would she ever have done... she wouldn't even be here today if it weren't for him, and he just keeps on saving the day. She'd give him the biggest hug were she not currently in the process of being detained. Okay, well... that's one crisis seemingly resolved for now, but that leaves Beak still wondering what she can do in her present situation. Sure, it'd be easy to escape--her body feels recharged and ready for another burst of speed from a Blink, for example--but where would she even go? Besides, keeping the knights calm hinges on the notion that she's cooperating and acting peacefully. She can't turn on them until at least having some sort of idea what she could stand to gain from such a move. It's... very dark here, all the sudden. She had willed her luminous medallion to stop glowing both because it seemed unnecessary--they were in broad daylight last she checked--and because she wanted to sell the notion of playing dead. Now that she's up again anyway and it's suddenly very dark, those are two very good and compelling reasons to bring her medallion's light back. She wills it to life with a thought, and its glow illuminates her and the area relatively close to her. P1 That's one thing she can do, at least. Beyond that... what? She can't fight, can't run, can't even Message the knights to reason with them.... ... or can she? She couldn't before, because something was blocking the signal. That... control. That... whatever it was that has the knights ensorceled. Does her having calmed them make them more receptive to her communication, by any chance? Does the charm magic Marion employed? It's not much, but it's valuable data. If she can't do anything else, she can at least test and see what happens now. "Hello? If you can hear me, I am the skeleton currently being arrested, speaking to you via telepathy because I have no physical voice. I mean you no harm and I wish to talk. Please let me know if you can hear this."She sends that Message to the knight she just calmed A1, just to see if she can get through, now. And, just for the sake of seeing what works and what doesn't, she also sends it to the first knight that Marion charmed. A2 Whether it works or it doesn't, it's... good to know, at the very least.

I stayed, relatively safely hidden in the shadow of the igloo, feeling a little overwhelmed with the scale of mayhem and magic around me. Rampaging worms, sure. Kidnappers, sure. Weird memory loss, sure. A holographic city of brainwashed allies is too much magic for little ol’ me. While some of my skills are like magic, and the demon transformation that I still don’t understand is probably magic, those I can control. Here? I don’t have a certain place to point my talons or plant my feet. If I were to fly into a wall, I’d probably just phase through it, the same way the dirt passed through my talons. But, it would give me a good place to hide. Assuming the brainwashed guards can’t see through the illusion. Here in the shadows, the illusion looks a little unstable, like the air itself has a wobble to it when I try to look at any one place, and I can almost see King’s Valley. Except when I look at buildings. Those are dark, and have an eerie glow that flickers with the illusion’s warping. So using the buildings as jump pads and hiding inside of them is not an option. So, taking (hopefully not too harmful) pot shots at our brainwashed allies is our next best option. Suddenly, I felt warmth spread through my body as I started to glow. All the pain from getting tossed through the air like a leaf faded away. I flapped my wings lightly. Magic is weird, and definitely not my preferred fighting style, but it sure is convenient. All thoughts were interrupted when I heard Astrid’s rallying cry. My head swiveled to her, entranced by her speech. Something so compelling, by all rights, should have convinced even a brainwashed person, but no, they go and KIDNAP HER. I look between her, and Moonweaver, who’s been facing all the knights by herself. Gah, just help both. I chuck two of my exploding pebbles at the feet of the guards who are glancing warily at Morrigan’s anti-magic circle as she shoves their comrade in their bag. I don’t watch to see whether they get thrown into the circle as intended before I fly to follow the WEF members who’ve taken Lady Astrid.
Summary: Nats dosen't know what to do with herself, gets hypnotized by Astrid, throws some Exploding pebbles to try and push knights into Morrigan's antimagic circle but isnt' really paying attention, and is now spying on Astrid. Remain in Right Flank Offensive Action 1: Throw exploding pebble Offensive Action 2: Throw exploding pebble

Of course, Gwendolyn’s flashy move would not go without a hitch. A stray bird had of course clipped the handle of her floating maul whilst it was just about to fire. This caused the hammer to flip drastically, aiming instead directly at the distortion in the rear. Odd, but acceptable. The building tunnels would have to do. “Ladies, airborne precautions please. Wouldn’t want these spores to be the cause of the knights confusion.” She instructs, quickly followed by all three of her maids tying their monogrammed handkerchiefs around their lower faces as impromptu masks. (1) The direction should be towards the distortion, hopefully able to approach it underground. The light blue light cast from the censer floating alongside her made the whole tunnel quite eerie indeed. Contrasting the ominous glow from the mushrooms themselves. The whole situation made everyone quite uneasy, to say the least. “Agreed, another mountain of earth falling upon us would be unfortunate. Mori should at least be able to prevent a complete cave-in” She mutters, quickly reminded that Mori had also followed her and Vail into the obsidian caverns. “I’m more worried at the present of losing our minds. Don’t think your little journey earlier went unnoticed. We’ll be counting on you. Whatever monster is rummaging about up there shall hold most of the attention, hopefully.” The mist shedding off of Siathriah had faded, and the spelunking crew delved deeper. The mushrooms had the potential to be of interest, little as it may be. Gwendolyn picks one up to inspect deeply, even going so far as to take an inquisitive bite. Her natural resistance to poison was spectacular, so it might be useful information if it does have certain properties. (2/3) 1 All maids tie part of their uniform around their mouth/nose as makeshift masks. As the stony troupe thrashed their way down the tunnel, the mushrooms start bursting into a cloudy fog. As Shaa is in his elemental state, the dust flows by him to no effect. He knew something was up with those things. He chuckles to himself which sounds something like rocks rubbing up against each other. From the top of his head comes tiny coughing and hacking. He may have been impervious to the fungal assault but his tiny companion was not. Dusty the Sandworm starts to shake as well. Instinctively, Dusty dives below the tunnel and starts burrowing a second tunnel parallel to their tunnel but free of the poisonous cloud. It was a smart move but didn’t help his tiny fire pixy.
As Dusty moves out of the way, Shaa can now perceive that the tunnel is moving into a larger chamber. There are also more people in the chamber ahead of them. He couldn’t be sure who they were but the general sizes and weights matched his companions. Had they, like he, discovered tunnels leading down? It was good news if they had escaped the gaurds but mushrooms were tricky things. Even if they were people he knew, he would have to stay on guard to see if they were in their right minds. At least he knew they were real, whomever they were. Illusions could be realistic, but they had no actual weight.
Earth Elemental Shaa motions one of his golems over. He reshapes its chest cavity to be hollow and a tiny hole on the other side. He then places Vulcana inside, resealing it behind her. Shaa then passes his finger through the golems chest. This was going to be difficult while he was still in earth elemental form but like dust devils and sandstorms, he was pretty sure he could pull off an earth/ wind move and save his tiny friend.
Shaa shifts the air current in the tunnel to flow roughly back out the way they came. With his earthy “finger” in the golems chest cavity, he shifts the air inside to force the spores out the tiny hole in the back like steam shooting out of a tea kettle. Once he is sure the air inside is clear, he shuts the golem once more to effectively seal her inside. She was so tiny, she didn’t need a ton of air but it was only a temporary fix. But for now, her tiny firecracker was safe.
Motioning to the Golems, they continue down the tunnel until they reach the large cavern he perceived. Sure enough, he recognizes some of his companions but, where was everyone else?

Dammit. Her trickery didn't work.
Well, it was worth a shot. With a small sigh, she draws her rapier and watches the guards carefully. She makes no moves toward them. She's pretty fed up with all this fey bullshit and she'll likely rant about it to Nephele after this, but for now she has people to look after.
That's when everything just went dark. Like someone turning the lights off in a room, it became impossible to see through the inky black. She can just about make out vague silhouettes but everything was just made a million times harder than it needed to be. Including the shout from.. Someone on another side of the battlefield, she feels a faint headache begin to manifest.
The shout itself tries to affect her. In what way, C'Leena is unsure as she furrows her brow and shakes her head, forcibly ignoring the effect[1]. The darkness surrounding her does give her a chance to focus her will, spreading her mana throughout herself. The sounds of metal readjusting itself and groaning back into place fills the air and she quietly thanks past-her for including some level of self-repair to her prosthetics[2].
For now, she readies herself to ward off any attacks to herself or those near her. Despite the darkness, she hopes that her swordsmanship and hearing can carry most of the work[3].
Summary: Remaining in FRONT and just groovin' in the darkness. Straight vibin'.
Actions:
1. (2) Major Healing to Self
2. (3) Ready Defensive Action (Defend attacks against herself or those near her.)
Passive Effects: (1) Unwavering Virtue: The celestial has instilled its sense of honor within in, building your resolve and strengthening your will. You can no longer be effected by spells or skills that would attempt to force you to do anything against your will. You cannot be turned against allies, forced to flee or even injure someone you wish not to injure. You have become a bastion of goodness that no one or nothing can influence you otherwise.

Mikael grimaced as the area around him went pitch black. Luckily being a trifling he could at least see around himself still a bit at least. He could barely make out the figures of a few of the others around him. He wasn’t fully sure what to do, his tail swaying uncertainly behind himself as he glanced to his creatures. He could always try to use calm emotions on another knight but there was no guarantee it would break the spell as it didn’t seem to fully break the last guard out of the spell. Perhaps they could sneak past the guards? But there was no telling how long the darkness would last or if any of the guards could see through it. He took a small quiet breath and let it out before moving to a new guard laying a hand gently on their shoulder and using (1)calm emotions once more hoping to try and help the others. “We aren’t here to hurt you surely there is some other way to go about this?” He questioned in a gentle and hopeful tone. He flicked his tail behind him signaling for his displaced beast and owl bear to move past in case flanking was necessary in this situation which they of course did.

Post by Lady Astrid Stormstone on Aug 18, 2024 17:21:49 GMT -5
Seeing some of the WEF drake riders breaking off to go deal with other perceived threats, Astrid gets an exasperated expression on her face. “OI, THAT BIG GUY AIN’T A DANGER TA ME, IT’S ME GRAN’S. LEAVE IT ALONG!” she shouts to the ones at the rear, however fruitlessly it might be. This is much more complicated than Astrid would like it to be. At least when they were dealing with Vulcadreaus, it was one big monster with a few extra minions, not some mystery creature with mind-control capabilities! Still, at least these two remaining riders are somewhat following instructions. Astrid turns her attention to the one who isn’t perfectly charmed by her and decides to give it a shot. “D’ya mind goin’ an’ gettin’ yer friends attackin’ me friends ta stop doin’ that?” she asks. [1] “All the adventurers here are helpin’ me, so fightin’ ‘em won’t solve nothin’ fer any of us.” Worth a try. Then she looks at the extended hand from the WEF rider who might just be offering to take her to the Queen. Well, this will either go horribly wrong or really right. Might as well find out. “Thanks! Can't wait ta meet her!” she says with a friendly smile and confidently takes the WEF rider’s hand. Please don’t be a trap, please don’t be a trap.
Meanwhile, Cstrid, Dstrid, and Buttfellow get caught off guard by the knights entering the building just as they finish securing the cuirass on the golem. “Uh oh,” Cstrid blurts. “Hiya, fellas!” Dstrid says with the friendliest smile she can muster. She won’t let them be caught so easily. Opening her arms to prepare to clap, Cstrid sees magic spark on her fingertips. Oh gods, okay. Cstrid urges Buttfellow to turn away along with looking away herself just as Dstrid claps her hands together, and a blinding flash of light bursts forth in front of her to blind the knights. [3]“Time ta go!” Cstrid says, collecting the smithy into its box, slapping Buttfellow, and turning to rush down the tunnels where the others had gone off to. Rather than activating Buttfellow, she decides maybe some distractions could be good, and what’s a better distraction than too many Astrids to arrest easily? Especially if the knights are blinded. The Replicant gathers magic and creates another Replicant who then creates another and so on until the Replicants are up to Gstrid. [4,5,6]Somewhere, Mainstrid feels a sudden drain spike on her mana. The tunnel, now with five Replicants, a golem, and a handful of knights inside of it, seems a bit crowded. Cstrid makes off with Buttfellow into the depths to catch up with the others while Dstrid has blinded the knights, been backed up with a small army, and Gstrid, the most recent Replicant, calls down a cage of lightning [7] to block the knights from proceeding further in. This lightning won’t do any damage, but the knights don’t know that. “NYAH, NYAH,” Dstrid teases. Not that the knights can see any of them.
If she's lucky, Cstrid and Buttfellow manage to catch up to the others. "HEYYYY!" she calls to them, completely oblivious to any danger that any shrooms might be causing the group. The most likely situation is that Cstrid and Buttfellow, loud as the golem is, catch up to Cypress first and foremost considering they went in after her. "Everythin' alright? Are ya good? Do ya need anythin'?" Cstrid asks, looking over Cypress as best she can. Luckily the darkness doesn't impede her much. [8]"The knights are after us, but a small army an' a cage are keepin' 'em from followin' quick." 1. DEBUFF ACTION: Astrid uses Charming Grace [use 2/3] 2. Much like her recent venture with Shaa and Askr, this encounter with the Fae was proving to be random and chaotic. She needed a moment to think, to breathe and assess what was happening all around. There were still plenty of alert guards, and even stranger occurrences happening all around. Taking a moment to still her breath and calm her heartbeat, Taki's body began to gently sway in the umbral expanse. Between one moment and the next, the darkness swallowed her up and removed the last traces of her presence. There was a part of her that wanted to use her House Key, and send her companions home... but she wasn't sure what sort of disastrous outcome that might have. Rather than fussing about it, she slipped a small crystalline flask from a pocket in her robe. Lashed shut with a simple knot, it came undone with a gentle motion. The strange silvery, milky concoction washed over her tongue, sweetened with honey and just a hint of vanilla, it was a handy little brew to keep on hand. Her typically crimson eyes turned a softly glowing silver, revealing things unseen, hidden by magic, spirits and specters of all kinds. For a short while, one could lift the veil, observe, and to a limited extent interact with the spirit realm. She scanned the distorted, darkened battlefield, her luminous gaze sweeping the area as she walked slowly through the shadows like a wraith.

Post by Lady Kamille Verlithax on Aug 18, 2024 18:11:19 GMT -5
Kalaf roared, a veil of anger coloring the drake’s mind, as he felt the sting of the arrows between his scales. His hide, tested by a thousand scruffles between the drake and anyone who would dare threaten his lair, was thick enough to make the attacks non-lethal [1]… But he was still very pissed.
Kamille noticed Kalaf wanted to go back and torch them, so she intervened:
“Kalaf, no! Focus! They are not our enemy!”
The drake shook his head, scratching his belly annoyed at the arrows he tried to scratch out of his hide. The beam of light the young Lord had sent their way had some healing effect, he knew. Kamille was silently grateful for Sarne’s quick thinking, especially realizing how fast the young Lorde had acted to heal them both.
The Witch then turned her attention to the place where Mayhem landed and… There was no difference? What was going on there?
Fish? What is going on? Did it work? Do you know what happened? Mayhem crashed, but I can’t seem to see it…[2]
SISTER THEY WANT TO ARREST ME! WHAT DO I DO?!
There was too much happening at the same time, Kamille didn’t know what to assess first. A WEF member was giving chase to them, and she probably wouldn’t be able to run forever. Once again taking her inkwell out of her purse, she dumped part of the content into the air by her side. Instead of leaving a trail of ink, the blackness coalesced into a single, giant mass that hovered for a moment, before sprouting additional features: leathery wings, ebony claws and eyes of burning red gathered in a shape that resembled to a hellhound with giant wings [3,4].
“If that dragon rider looks like he’s gonna attack us, or if he gets too close, divert his attention! GO!”
The hellhound made of ink immediatelly jumped off, stretching its wings to fly off and follow from a distance. It would act only if the WEF member showed himself hostile towards Kamille and Kalaf, keeping guard over them. A smile curved her lips as she looked over her shoulder and realized that Astrid was trying to handle the WEF riders without raising a hand, and couldn't help but feel proud of how much of a quick learner the young girl was.
With that - hopefully - taken care off, she needed to think of what to do. Kalaf also looked interested in understanding what happened to the place Mayhem crashed, since it didn’t look like it changed much.
If this is what the “fae” meant, they were looking less and less appetizing by the minute…
Flying in circles around the disturbance in the air that Mayhem jumped into, Kalaf’s frustration suddenly came to a boiling point, as he mustered all the anger and inability to torch his problems away in one single, terrible sound:
ROOOAAAAAAAARRRRRRRR![5]
Directing it towards the disturbance, the drake knew that under regular circumstances his roar would fill the enemies’ heart with dread and make them scatter - though he had no way of knowing how his rider’s magic also had a role in it: the mask she used, unusually so, could be responsible of making magic slip through the fingers of those affected by his fearsome roar [6].
“Keep steady now, Kalaf. I need to try something.”
A heavy sigh escaped her lips, Kamille remembered how the last time she chose that route, she ended up regretting it. The Witch closed her eyes, trusting Kalaf to keep her safe.
Hektor, hand over the staff to a knight. Keep trying to stall.
It was easier done than said, but Hektor resisted arrest for a minute. Well, Hektor per se didn’t do much, but on top of a very confused Disaster’s shoulder, the golem kept the knights at arms length, as well as raised the apprentice above his head, so they couldn’t reach him. The aggression had faded from the golem’s eyes, and it seemed to be just a big, sentient tree, holding out a hand to avoid the knights getting closer.
“ALRIGHT! Wait! I’m just a CHILD, for Ginma’s beard! I will- I will submit! Look! I’m surrendering my weapon! See? Take it!”
I hope you have a plan, sister, Hektor thought for a moment, before aiming at the knight that was closer to him. He let go of the staff, throwing it at the closest knight in a way that the man would have to grab it instead of letting it hit him on the head.
When it made contact, Hektor let Kamille know [7].
It’s with them, sister.
Here I go, not learning from my mistakes.
Kamille closed her eyes, reaching towards her staff [8] to cast her spell on the knight that grabbed it [9]. Her mind went over to scour on the knights memories for any clue of what happened to them, anything that would help them undo that scenario - if they were truly in another realm or inside an illusion. If she could take a glimpse at what was responsible for that, and where they were, perhaps they could devise a better plan to handle it.
Granted she would emerge from that connection unscathed…
[1]Unwavering will (turning two minor wounds into one?!?! Correct me if I’m wrong) [2]Inked marking [3]Summons from the void [1/4 posts] [4]Eldritch might [5]Howling fear [6]Brutalizer’s mask [7]Nevermore [8]Arcane proxy [9]Reveal truth
