Once again, Sol City called to her - but this time, the Mage's Guild directly. Sooner or later, she knew they would ask something of her - of them, to be fair. She was warned that a few other members were also put on the same lead, and a meeting was arranged, though she wasn’t sure who was involved. The streets of the Sol City's market brought so many memories...
Night was upon the market, most of the merchants already wrapping up their business and tents to call it a day. It was on those streets she met a certain red tiefling, many, many years ago - the memory brought back a smile to her lips, as she played with a fake coin around her fingers. She was told she was to meet others on the fourth street from the Headless Hydra, so they could go to an even more sketchy part of town to start digging for someone who could lead them to whoever was responsible for the operation. Stealthy missions were not her forte - last time she had to go undercover, she was dressed as a lady of the night. This time wasn’t much different, but she left everything fancy she had aside to appear as sleazy as she could: a dark blue skirt with slits so high her thighs were nearly all exposed, a brown leather corset and a simple lace shirt that left her shoulders bare. Kamille was comfortable enough in her own skin to show it off, but she was aware that wouldn’t be enough of a distraction for the whole operation to hinge upon. With her, she brought a couple fake rings and jewelry to try and sell to pick on people's attention, hoping to attract the right - or wrong - kind of attention.
Edgar was down a couple blocks, crouched, wrapped up in some brown rags, easily taken for a beggar, despite his muscled shape beneath the rags. Kamille envied their ability to blend into the background. Poe and Allan were nowhere to be seen, as usual. She had decided to bring the Black Quills along because the extra sets of eyes could always be useful.
Mischief would make for her to be easily recognizable, so this time the raven remained at her inn's room, probably raging the whole night.
The Witch waited for her companions, hoping she could recognize them too. If she knew anything about Sol City - and she knew, since she was raised there - now was about the time for the real interesting business to start taking place: stolen goods, hustles and secrets. All they needed was to meet at one of the main hubs of the nightly activity, a less-than-tasteful tavern down a few blocks and try to get some attention from the ones behind that.

"How utterly ridiculous do I look Jacapo?" The Lord of Ghouls spoke as he slowly turned, arms out on display as he unveiled his 'undercover' attire. He found the clothing in a cedar chest in one of the guest rooms of his rented apartment. While the Mage Guild had a need for operatives in Sol City, he certainly would have turned it down had he not already been there. The ball had brought him closer to a number of like minded individuals. Thus, in the rather lavish abode he found himself in, he attempted to blend in. Which, was next to impossible. He was far too debonair and outlandish for covert missions, as it is difficult to not stand out with flaming red hair, fangs, silk robes and numerous accessories. Yet, he desired to impress the Guild. Looking for input from his scarecrow servant, he paused as his Majordomo looked almost appalled.
While polishing one of his master's leather boots, he set it down quickly and spoke sternly. A few stands of hay waving as his hands cupped outwards in question.
"Master, I have never seen you look so out of vogue before. Your clothes are ill fitting, the fabric is clashing- paisley with stripes? Are you mad? I am fairly certain a goat chewed on the sleeve of your jacket. My lord if I were you I would burn that outfit and never mention it again." There was silence in the room that seemed to only break by the sound of a creaking floor. Amilcar was stunned, his hand placed over his heart, as if covering a wound, and mouth agape. There were few instances where only his trusted Majordomo would speak to the Necromancer this way, so he knew well the dire circumstances he was in.
"That's...that's quite enough." Were the only words he could muster. He slowly began to unbutton the blouse as Jacapo continued.
"May I suggest a black cloak, a dark poet blouse and your favorite pants? You sir may desire stealth but I could never allow you to walk the streets without a sense of fashion. You are the Master of the Villa of Lost Souls not some commoner. Lunala forbid..." He returned to polishing the boot in his lap, carved eyes magically narrowing as he glared up and down at the vampire.
"Thank you for saving me from myself, Jacapo. I do not know what came over me. Of course, fetch them."
Sometime later....
Bellighul made his way through the crowd, well hidden beneath the hood of his cloak from subtle glances and the sun itself, which had faded in the horizon some moments ago. He was told of the Headless Hydra and companions gathering on a nearby street. His boots were well stained from puddles, mud and filth that spread about the cobblestones. These were his third favorite pair, but discovered them to be the most casual given the circumstances. Ruby eyes scanning a form near the corner and a sly smile broke his once expressionless visage.
He approached directly in front of her, traces of red hair displaying down well to his waist as he moved. His voice boomed from the crowd, as he carelessly shouldered a merchant as he broke from the group. "Exalted! A few days in this ridiculous city and we already are mingling with the vagabonds and charlatans that call this home."
He looked her up and down somewhat deviously, but chuckled softly as he took her hand in his for a moment subtlely. Using his cloak he masked his affections from prying eyes. "You look lovely my dear."

What am I doing here? Zak asked himself for the thousandth time since he started the trek back to Sol City. What do I know about going undercover? Or for that matter scheming to outwit and defeat a group of counterfeiters? As usual, Zak felt out of his league. He had hoped that joining the Mage’s Guild would help him get over his feeling of being an outsider. Instead, so far, it had only served to remind him that he was certainly no tactician or scholar. While other mages spent time and energy in the pursuit of magical knowledge, Zak instead retreated from the material world and focused on channeling his mana into connection to the elemental forces surrounding him. For him, his answers would be found there. A shout from one of the merchants hawking their wares interrupted his musings, and Zak returned his attention to the mundane. He hadn’t been in this part of Sol City for awhile, but he knew enough about it to remain vigilant. After dark, the goings-on often became shady and cutthroat, and he and his comrades would be walking right into the thick of it. …His comrades? Who could they be? he wondered. As he approached the area where the rendezvous was supposed to take place, his question was answered, causing Zak to burst out laughing. It was Kamille, and was that the Dark Lord himself with her? Of course it was. Fate just loves to play with me, Zak thought with a chuckle. Talk about feeling out of my league. Zak sighed, and then a wide grin appeared on his face. Who better to take on this task with him but two comrades who he already knew and trusted. Perhaps two of the most powerful mages Zak had ever met. A few meters away from the pair, Zak held back for a moment, watching the two of them as they greeted one another. Bellighul looked different. Was it because Zak had seldom seen him without his mask or was it something else? The thought quickly vanished when he caught sight of Kamille’s outfit. She looked different as well. Her usual elegance and Witch of Moonglade essence had been replaced with a suggestive and inviting message. For a moment, Zak was confused, but then he remembered. Undercover, eh? Well, she surely provided a distraction, that’s for sure. “ Well, well, well,” Zak said warmly as he moved up next to the couple. “ Greetings, friends. Another adventure together, eh?”

It would come as a surprise for Kamille to be the one with the most abilities for going undercover, because she considered herself very much ill prepared for that. But upon seeing Bellighul approaching, she even chuckled lightly at the thought, seeing his luxurious red mane. The look he shot at her outfit told her she was doing it right.
They were doomed.
Still, she smiled at him, squeezing his hand lightly under the cover of his cloak.
"Did you just forget I was raised here, Lord of Ghouls? This ridiculous city was my home..."
There was some attempt at a hurt expression, but it was clear it was all a jest. Kamille held no true love for the city other than some memories, but it spoke volumes that she would chose to go back to Moonglade, where she was born, when she chose to leave Court. It was probably a good thing that she was asked to go on this mission, because she knew the city very well, known to always sneak out of Courtly duties to mingle with "vagabonds and charlatans" that would have very interesting stories to tell her.
When Zak approached, her smile lighted up her eyes. Of course. Maybe it was by design that they were chosen to undergo this mission together - they entered the guild together, they were known for making up for a good team. She shouldn't be surprised.
"It looks like it! Good evening, Zak! Hope everything's been good with you both. I'm sorry for jumping right into it, but I guess time is of the essence."
In her palm, she showed them three golden rings. They were fake, but they were good replicas, that only a keen eye would catch. From her clevage she also took out a fake gold coin to show them.
"We are meant to find a middleman, someone who could lead us to whoever is responsible for making this fake solars. I thought that maybe throwing around some fake rings could attract their attention. We could maybe each grab one and... see how it goes from there?"
They weren't given much to begin with. With a bit more time she might've been able to put the Black Quills into it and get more information, but there was not the time for it. Which reminded her... She turned to Zak and made a discrete gesture towards the man that looked like a beggar, crouched by the street two blocks down.
"I guess I didn't introduce you to the Black Quills yet. That one is Edgar, they are often accompanying me. Allan and Poe are around too, and if you don't see them, they are doing their job right. They will always be tailing us, so when you find yourself in need, they will come to your help."
