Pop Up Topics Pop up topics are random topics created by a member of staff utilizing important npc's or telling world driven stories. These topics will often involve some minor story or interaction that attempts to explore aspects of Charon that can not be visited in major site wide plots. These can be a variety of topics, including social or combat topics, and things like guild or regional topics. Pop Up's will tell a multitude of minor stories across the world as a whole, and will give members the opportunity to role play with major npc's or get involved with plot outside of major events.
Due to the nature of these topics, they will be limited to a small group of people, and so we will be using a sign up system to ensure everyone gets the opportunity to participate in pop ups. As a new pop up is listed, you can simply reply to the thread to sign up. Participants will be chosen randomly by staff from those who have signed up. However some topics may be related to specific things, such as a particular political region or a guild. Members who have signed up who may be connected to the topic in some way (such as a member of the guild or political region) will be given priority when it comes to joining said topic. Priority will also be given to members who have not yet participated in a pop up, so only sign up for topics you are truly interested in!
All Pop Ups are designed to be narrative focused, with their goal to be furthering a story line in Charon. While some of these will include combat, the combat will be to further elevate the story. For any pop up topic that do include combat, our action system will be active.

Sky full of stars Four Fellbloods sat at a table positioned so that each of them represented a cardinal direction, wisps of steam from cups of jade green tea lay untouched in front of them. Shadows danced across the room casted by a singular hanging lamp above the table, a knife stuck perfectly upright into the wood centered directly below the lamp. All were motionless and yet the shadows danced.
A voice from a golden mask broached the silence. “What do the shadows of the stars foretell?”
There has been an upheaval amongst those living in the Crescent Isles as the movement of the stars had begun to be reported and easily confirmed amongst even amateur astronomers.
A younger, softer voice from a pale Fellblood, silken black bangs hiding nubs of horns, dressed in yellow and black robes gave answer. “The shadows move. What was once a constant to us is no longer, our situation cannot be considered immutable any more. What is our response?”
There were rumors of records of ancient long forgotten times that have since long turned to dust, but the spirit of change persisted through Crescent Isles and as they took their guidance from the stars and the sea, patience was all that was foretold and patient the islanders have been. Now? Now the stars traverse through the night skies, now the tides reach peaks and valleys unheard of, what was once an expected cycle has fundamentally changed. The islanders see these changes and seek answers as the spirit of change has truly manifested for them. And here, four Fellbloods sit having a particular discourse over the islands’ fate.
A tone resembling the sound of a millstone grinding wheat rises from the depths of a very large Fellblood. “We begin changing ourselves.”
It was a simple answer, but the consequences that lay behind that answer were vast. A brief moment of silence as the shadowed figures considered where this could lead.
The last voice, a mild mannered one from a ferocious purple hued Fellblood. “Either we change or we die.”
Solemn agreement was shared among the four at the table as shadows continued to dance around the room. The road being decided upon would prove to be difficult, violent, many lives would be lost and these individuals felt that they had the responsibility to make this decision for the islands. There is something to be said about the confidence that these four held in their positions within their communities, but no one can be confident in how far and deep this change will manifest once it starts.
This pop up topic is a Crescent Isle focused topic, taking place in and focusing on the Islands. You do not need to be from the Crescent Islands to sign up, but priority will be given to those that are. Sign ups will be open between October 1st and October 31st with the topic starting November 1st. To sign up, reply to this thread with which character you like to enter and what region that character claims. A random drawing will take place at the end of sign ups.

Dinner with the devil The Citadel was a magnificent, towering structure in the heart of Sol city, viewed by many as the most difficult place to escape from in all of Charon. At any given time it's residents consist of political prisoners, traitors, crime lords or religious fanatics, but in the last few months, it played home to one of Charon's most infamous criminals. The almighty grandeur of the prison had a perfect reputation, until recently, earning a black mark on its reliability.
A gaping hole now sits in the side of the stone tower, quickly being fixed, while its past resident now runs free in the wild. Scern, a terrorist, a mad man, has recently escaped and has been successful in remaining undetected. Where has he fled to, what does he seek, and can Charon survive his next move?
This pop up topic will include Scern and will catch up on him since the events of Sol Stone. Anyone can sign up for this pop up by replying to this topic, however characters with either the Touch of Divinity or Aura of Vulcadreaus will have priority. When signing up, please state if your character posses one of these traits, and which one. Sign ups will end on December 1st, with participants being chosen at random. This is a plot topic so only sign up if you are able to consistently participate.

Passing the Torch Athena, the leader of the fighters guild, sat alone at an empty table, listening to the sounds of rain patter off the top of the castle she found herself in. It had been more than a year since she had seen these halls, beautiful, magnificent stone halls constructed by the original creators of the Martial Academy. Two thick blankets lay across her shoulders, a deep weariness settling in her eyes, an indication of her last year.
Until recently she had been Javian's prisoner, held captive in several bandit camps throughout the region. Her neglect and mistreatment was written obviously across her face. She had seen horrors, been subject to harsh conditions, but was more than thankful to finally be back home, within her walls of safety. The guild had done its best to rescue her while simultaneously ridding Moonglade of the Clasp. They had done an outstanding job.
The last few days had been a bit of a shock however, having to readjust to life around her. The guild was doing a great job with supporting her transition back, but things would never truly be the same for the woman. With the majority of her affairs being settled, their was one final thing to do. A well of tears swelled in her eyes, memories of the guild and all of its accomplishments flooding back into her mind. She was going to miss this place, but it was time to move on, it was time to heal.
It was time to pass the guild on to someone else.
This is a fighters guild specific pop up topic that will settle the events that have been taking place within the guild over the last year. Only members of the fighters guild can sign up and participate in this topic, with two participants being chosen from those who sign up. Sign ups will close on Feburary 1st, followed by selection and the posting of the topic. Shaa Rhunn Will also be in this topic as an auto include that does not take up one of the two sign up slots.

👍 What will happen in this pivotal thread? Will everyone be happy with this change? Who will step up to accept the torch? Will Shaa finally get all of the stupid paperwork done in time to petition for a muffin bar to be built in the guild hall? Who knows? Sign up and get ready for a new age of face punching!
