The idea that there would be a place called the “ Safe, Dry, Sleep Eat” spot was always hilarious to Shaa. In Gazablaak, pretty much any of those adjectives would be done with skepticism or at the very least, with a serious healer around. Shaa had found himself at the bar after a riotous round of fights at the pits. As it happens, he had ended up winning a bet with a loud mouthed halfling named Wayne who thought he knew something. Hehehe showed him.
Shaa had invited his pal Ray over to celebrate his winnings but he hadn’t seen any sign of his friend yet. So Shaa decided to pass the time at the bar with a tankard of ale and a room full of random travelers. He was still pretty keyed up from the fights and hoped a drink or two would help him relax.
It was getting close to dark and Shaa was deep inside his fifth tankard when Wayne and some of his friends pushed through the door. Well we’ll, what do you know? Someone must have left the stalls open, even the livestock have come in for a drink! Wayne and his cronies laughed loudly and pointed to Shaa at the bar. Not wanting to ruin his night, Shaa turned around and ignored them…with a small but pointed grumble.
Ohhh come on big guy. I didn’t hewt yooo feeelings did I? Wayne chided. Do cows even have feelings? Rejoined one of the cronies. I mean, their heads are made out of rocks you know. Hahaha!
This kind of nonsense continued unabated for a good 15 minutes. At one point, Wayne threw on a tablecloth like a cape and pretended to be a bull fighter, fake slaying one of his buddies who went charging around the bar making snorting noises and holding fingers to his head like horns. When Shaa was unmoved, Wayne got even more determined.
All fun aside bull man, I believe you owe me and my friends some money. We think that you cheated and colluded with that beast in the arena. So we want our money back, cheater!
Shaa could take a lot. Being a Minotaur living among more “civilized” beings, he had always caught taunts from the mindless crowd. It had taken several years for him to earn their respect as a tracker, in the arena and as a trusted friend. But everyone has a line. Shaa had a code and nobody, not ANYBODY calls him a cheater without a response, and he had one.
Ya know what Wayne, you ooze faced, kobold brained puss sniffer. You are right. Shaa stood up from the bar to his full hight and faced his assailants. I do owe you all something. Here. Have a seat! Shaa picked up two bar stools ( one of them still had a patron in it who fell to the floor) and hurled the stools towards Wayne and the group. The first stool took the fake bull right on the chin as he collapsed to the floor. The second stool flew over Wayne’s head and into the back of one of a group of lizard folk who were eating in the back.
The entire pack of lizard folk shot up and turned towards the rest of the bar. The one who was struck demanded WHHHOSSS THREW CHAIIIRRR ATTTT MEEE!?
Shaa and Wayne looked at each other with wide eyes and then, at the same time, pointed at each other saying HE DID IT!
The lizard men all pulled out daggers and started charging indiscriminately at patrons in the bar…..

Tatalia was having a nice, quiet day at the inn.
It wasn't the cleanest of inns, to be fair. It wasn't exactly the sort of place one took polite company, not unless one lacked other options (which one always did in Gazablaak). The food was considered gross by most "civilized" people; the rooms upstairs weren't the most sizeable nor comfortable; the marsh air was barely kept at bay by the firepit in the center of the room, and the only drinks available were water, swamp grog, and whatever fell off the back of someone's wagon.
All-in-all, however... Tatalia liked the Safe Dry Sleep Eat Spot. It wasn't pretentious. It told you exactly what you were paying for, and you got what you paid for. Most of all, it really was safe, because Tiny Two Toes didn't allow any real violence to happen in his inn. He had ways to put a stop to actual violence against his patrons.
Unfortunately, Tiny Two Toes was also a pragmatist, and when he realized there was a freaking minotaur tussling with a band of humans and a group of dagger-wielding lizards were getting in the way, he just took out his crossbow and sat behind his bar, waiting to see how things panned out.
Tatalia was sitting in the far corner when the chaos broke out. The little goblin was all-too-familiar with how bar brawls could go. As the scuffle became a full on melee, with stools and knives and bottles being brought to bear, Tatalia decided it was time to ply her trade: stealing.
Okay, okay; it was ONE of her many trades. But Tatalia was good at it.
The goblin snuck over to the table the humans had been previously sitting at. A chair flew over her head as the little goblin noticed they had, in fact, been gambling while taunting the minotaur. A few coins had spilled to the ground, but most were still on the table. So, the goblin simply opened a pouch and quietly, silently scooped a few coins into it while nobody was looking; and actually, a few coins was all the coins on the table.
Not wanting to be left out of the melee entirely, Tatalia leapt up from underneath the table very suddenly, waving her dagger. It lit up with a bright flash, temporarily blinding the humans and Shaa as well... and then Tatalia noticed the lizards rushing in to take advantage of the stunned men.
Tatalia decided she didn't want to join the melee anymore and so started scrambling, shouting, "I'M ON YOUR SIDE!" without making clear exactly who she was talking to. Honestly, she was hoping all of them assumed she was on their side.
And hey, Shaa would forgive her, right?

Ahh the familiar smell of stale air...
Gazablaak was never a favorite place of Ray's but it's residents always found creative ways to hurt themselves and each other, making it a perfect place to ply his trade. Today he was taking a break from his usual wanderings to celebrate with his friend Shaa at the Safe Dry Eat Sleep Place, aptly named in relation to the rest of the Marsh Flats. As he walked up to the tavern door he heard a loud commotion inside, figures darted back and forth in front of the windows and screaming and crashing could be heard within.
As he got closer a lizardman with a few dings and bruises flew through the window with a dagger in his hand landing in the mud and broken glass with a hissing grunt. He rose to his feet cursing and vaulted back through the window. Through the broken window Ray could see Shaa throwing people about the room amid a chaotic brawl... Surprising...
"Welp, might as well do my part and make sure no one dies." Ray thought to himself.
He strolled in the door and was met with a stool to the temple that splintered and sent him stumbling, healing magic closed the busted skin as Ray let out a sigh. The culprit was a human who'd been aiming for a lizard that stood between him and Ray. Now this was personal, and he was no stranger to bar brawls.
"Wanderer, help me return this place to peace." Ray muttered a prayer as holy light surrounded him and Shaa, empowering them.
Ray stepped towards the dagger wielding lizard man and twisted him by the arm towards himself, slamming his forehead into the lizards snout. Blood splattered from its nose as Ray slung the body to the side over a table and marched towards the human who'd hit him with a stool.
"That's right, your turn!" Ray raised his arm and motioned 'come at me' to the man.

Safe, Dry, Sleep, Eat Spot. ... It was certainly a name, he could give the place that much credit at the very least. It was straightforward; transparent; really told you what you should expect of the place. At first, he wasn't sure whether the name "Safe, Dry, Sleep, Eat Spot" was real; in fact, he had laughed when he'd asked for directions to the nearest inn, and they had said, "Oh, you're probably looking for the Safe, Dry, Sleep, Eat Spot". And then he'd realized they were serious about the location; very dutifully pointing it out on his map, while listing a number of other mildly absurd location names around it that he would never forget about in his lifetime.
Gazablaak is something else... But as long as the place lived up to its name, and is quiet, dry, and has some form of place to sleep in, he can't say he minded the silliness at the end of the day, he figured.
...But, the name turned out to be misleading. No sooner had he pushed open the door to the little tavern, something shattered and splintered off to the side of the wall by his head. Something else lit up so suddenly and unexpectedly further inside the tavern, that he couldn't see anymore, and Cantio ended up stumbling inside, instead of the decisively better option of just going back outside.
So, now he's here, in the midst of noise, raucous, and chaos— and this place is decisively not safe! Nor dry! And is very much awake!
He sputters a curse beneath his breath, pressing himself to the far entrance wall and pushing up his mask with one hand. He rubs at his eyes in some desperate attempt to just be able to see again. A window breaks beside him, and someone else comes in through the door nearby. He hears rapid steps coming towards him, and in his momentary blind panic, drops his mask back to his face, and casts forth a hand.(1) The area around him illuminates as a long, serpentine shape unwinds from his hand; it springs forth and snaps to the first person it comes in contact with. The dragon-shaped light coils around the legs of a man who'd been coming his way, holding one of the bar's stools, and the bar patron ends up tripping— hitting the ground and snapping the stool with the collision. "Sorry! I'm sorry! I really don't want any part of whatever is going on here!" He can't see who he hit, but he heard the collapse; Cantio puts his hands up in a surrender, pressed up against the wall near the broken window, tail coiled around one leg, as he tries to keep himself out of the fray and regain his senses.
(1) Binding Light — You fire out a beam of pure light, illuminating the immediate area. This beam of light is thin and travels in a straight line up to a medium distance away. If this beam of light strikes someone it will wrap around them like a vine, restricting their movement. This light will bind them for their next post, preventing them from moving away. They can still manipulate their hands to a degree.

A hooded man asked for directions to the nearest inn. The local pointed him in the direction of the inn.
The traveler slowly made his way to the inn. He glanced up at the sign outside the inn. Ulrich removed his hood, a smile on his face at the thought of having some place to rest comfortably. He was standing at the front door now.
"Ah here were are. The Safe-" He was cut off by a light that flashed brightly within the building. No sooner after the flash, shattered glass flew from one of the windows in front. He starts to hear the sounds of a full on brawl coming from within the inn. He's taken by surprise at the fact that the reason the window had been broken was because a man had been thrown through it.
The man gets up quickly, drunken rage in his eyes. There were others sitting just outside the inn having drinks of their own. Apparently the men knew one another so they charged for the front door together.
"Oi! Get ou'a the way 'r we'll crush ya too!" The drunken man who burst through the window yelled.
There was nowhere for Ulrich to side step out of the way to. He quickly threw up his hands, and with no other choice, he quickly backed into the inn through the door. The men charged in through the door after, one of them quickly grabbing a chair and heading for a Tiefling man near the window that had just shattered moments ago.
Is that— Cantio?
Glasses, chairs, and any other object that could be used as a weapon flew around Ulrich. Sensing all the danger around, he ducked and weaved out of the way from all the blows that were unintentionally coming his way. In the midst of all the chaos, he was just a figure seen skillfully making his way through the brawl, avoiding all contact. It was almost comical to look at, really.

Aldren Pyke wanted two things for a very long while now: To have a good nights rest and to successfully make his way to Capitol Landing. At the time, it seemed as if he was only going to to find the former, the latter once again escaping his keen since of direction.
The half-elf couldn’t help but chuckle to himself when he found the self proclaimed ‘Safe, Dry, Sleep, Eat Spot’. It reminded him of an artist from his village by the name Raymond Dunn. He would scribble the most absurd generic phrases on anything he made, worse yet it was wildly popular among the older women which perpetuated the trend further. Still, it did give him a sense of nostalgia, he made his way in and sat at the bar.
Aldren’s last few problems started with the amount of alcohol he consumed. Being the intelligent traveler that he was, he had a foolproof way of making sure his night went smoothly, he gave the bartender a stern stare. “Yes sir, I’d like a glass of milk…in a dirty glass.” He knew he’d be taken seriously with the gravity he spoke of. Once he got his drink, though, the contents did intimidate him. Perhaps he’ll try it another time.
It turns out that he wouldn’t find either of the two things he was looking for. Aldren looked over at the commotion with a large bull guy and little guys becoming very confrontational with one another. There was a look of genuine disappointment in his eyes as the tavern seemingly explodes into violence. “Why’s this always happening to me?” The boy laments. Knowing it was time to make his exit, Aldren rushed towards the front entrance, not wanting any part of this.
Something bright appeared in the corner of his eye. Before Aldren had time to react, it wrapped around his legs causing him to loudly crack his jaw on a table he couldn’t quite grab on time to break his fall. He could taste copper in his mouth, but quickly forgot the sensation as combatants started to trip over him, too focused on the fight in front of them to see the man on the ground. One of those fighters was lighting a piece of fabric in a drink that they had, flying out of their hands when they stumbled over Aldren. The lit contents shattered upon the bar, quickly igniting everything and filling the tavern with smoke.

The enraged lizard men split up and scattered throughout the bar. The one who was hit by the stool had a particularly focused look towards Shaa and Wayne. Before he could attack in earnest, two of Wayne’s men, one a human the other another halfling, rushed Shaa as Wayne ducked under a table. Get em!
Shaa punched the first man in the stomach causing him to double over. As he buckled, Shaa grabbed him by the shirt and pants and tossed him brusquely over a table. The halfling, completely and insanely unintimidated by the Minotaur, ran over wrapping his tiny arms around Shaa’s calf and attempted to bite him. As Shaa looked at him incredulously, a bright flash burst from the room blinding him. I’m on your side! Shaa recognized Tatalias effusive call. He would have to be careful not to accidentally step on her.
Still blind and with a halfling gnawing on him, Shaa heard a hiss pointing in his direction. He grabbed the halfling and tossed him clear across the room crashing into the lizard man closest to the window, knocking him through it. A hand tried to grab him but he turned and threw him over the bar. This was getting dicey.
Suddenly Shaa felt clear and full of strength. Amazed by his quick recovery, he sees Ray manhandling another lizard by the door. Ginma bless the man. He was about to run over over to help him when a random patron threw a flaming bottle on the bar causing it to burst into flames and smoke. Not wanting to cause any more damage, Shaa grabbed an unconscious crony and used him to smother the flames. He got several concerned glances from the patrons who moved their fights a safe distance away from him.
Unbeknownst to Shaa, a different story was happening right below his feet. The man that Shaa had unceremoniously dumped on the floor when he first grabbed the stools was one Neville Brightswagger, a researcher from Sol City. Nev had come to the Marsh Flats three weeks ago to study the common bog spider. He had just finished his research and had stopped at the Inn before making his way back home. To Nev’s surprise, he found that ugly spiders actually had several different varieties. He had discovered one particular group that had two distinct characteristics. 1. Their venom, while not deadly, did cause large creatures to develop uncontrollable hiccups, sometimes for days. 2. Their webbing was extra sticky to last in the swampy marshes and also expanded when it got wet. Nev felt that the webs could have some amazing industrial applications so he gathered several specimens to take back with him. Specimens that were now scrambling unchecked across the floor.

Tatalia had found herself in better positions in the past.
Chairs were flying all around her. The table Tatalia had chosen as a hiding place was flipped over her head, crashing down onto the floor behind her. Terrified, the goblin let out an "Eep!" and dashed for cover, realizing that the room was quickly becoming far, far too full of violence.
Some man rushed in from outside first, giving a 'come at me' gesture to another human. Then some unfortunate souls coming to take shelter from the swamp were immediately thrust into the melee, swept into the brawl like birds in a tornado. There was little time to register what was happening; the brawl just seemed to grow and grow by the second.
Tatalia darted for cover again, trying to find a safe place to stow her ill-gotten goods. She tripped over a man's extended leg and went tumbling, her hands fumbling to keep a hold of her coinpurse as she soared across the air. She landed a couple feet away and then shot a glare at the man she'd managed to trip over... which turned out to be the mage that had helped her in the arena against the dire owlbear. Her glare gave way to an apologetic look, but she didn't have time to voice that apology; she was immediately struck in the side with a thrown bottle.
Tatalia's breath shot out of her lungs. The bottle clattered onto the ground. She looked up; she saw the perpetrator. Vengeance would be hers. The goblin scooped the bottle back up, leaned back, and hurled it back at the man who hurt her with all her might!
The bottle spun through the air like an elegant, glassy guillotine, swirling and twirling as it arced across the room. But just before it could bonk its target in the head, the man got punched in the face and fell flat on his back. So, instead, the bottle flew through the air toward...
"CANTIO?!" shouted Tatalia in surprise.
Poor Cantio had a bottle flying at high velocity right at his masked face.

The human that Ray was walking towards raised his fists to accept the challenge.
"Oww! The hell!?" The human jerked his leg up, a string like substance yanked it back down to the ground as the man hiccuped, and then hiccuped again, and again.
Ray was stunned and confused, looking down to see spiders scurrying across the floor and leaving trails of webs throughout the bar that the brawlers were getting hung up in. Ray was undeterred and now had an easy target, he picked a stool up and reared back to throw it before a flaming bottle flew in front of his face and struck the bar near him. Next, a loud scream from one of the corners of the bar saved his target yet again.
"NOOO!! Oh no, no, no, no!" A robed figure was panicking while holding a broken orb of some sort in his hand.
A greenish smoke rose up from the floor near him as a handful of pixies flew up into the air giggling with fiendish delight. A blast of magic sizzled past Ray and struck the human stuck in a web in front of him. The man's hiccups stopped, but then he transformed into a grizzly bear. Similar bolts of magic were flung at other brawlers adding to the chaotic bar room the bear, a moose, and a skunk. The animals went after brawlers indiscriminately and Ray now found himself being charged by a bear, instantly regretting taunting the man earlier.
The grizzly easily ripped free from the web, tackling Ray through a few tables and brawlers to the ground. Raising his hand he summoned his saber and jammed it into the beast's throat, it let out a pained roar before bighting him on the shoulder and shaking him around.
"Arrhh!" He screamed as he tried to break free.
Ray was no longer here to stop the fighting and keep people alive, instead he was being eaten...

When the fog in his eyes fades, he finds himself fretting lightly over some poor soul who he'd caught in his wayward defensive spell; he crouches down in front of Aldren as the light around his legs begins to flicker and release him. "I'm so sorry, are you oka— "But he can't finish. "CANTIO?!"He blinks, looking up at the sound of a very familiar voice, and promptly takes a high-velocity bottle directly to the face. He yelps his surprise, falling back as the glass shatters across his mask; and as he trips back, someone trips over him. The guy and his chair go straight out the broken window.
By some sheer miracle, he does not get a face nor eye full of glass shards, but his mask has (yet again) splintered from the impact. "WHAT THE HECK!?" he barks into the chaos; there's so many things going on right now, he can't keep anything straight. He's not even sure who threw that, but he now knows Tatalia is scurrying around somewhere even if he can't see her— and is that the sound of a bear!? He blinks, trying to regain his bearings— and he realizes everything has become more insane in the mere seconds he was dazed.
There's fire. There's a bear chewing on someone. There's a moose— is that a skunk crawling across the bar!? And— wait, is that Ulrich, just flitting through the bar like nothing's even happening? And Shaa wailing on some unfortunate group of lizard men? He shakes his head, using the wall to get back on his feet— and then decides very quickly not to, when a spider skitters over his palm.
He shudders, shaking out his sleeves as he sprints past a few men; ducking around them in the middle of their brawl. There's fire, there's smoke, he can't focus long enough to really see anyone: but the moment Cantio reaches a somewhat unoccupied corner of the room, he pulls out his violin and takes a breath. He hates to pick sides, but he does realize he has friends here; and he can recognize need, at the very least. He really doesn't want to take part, but he can... help, maybe?
And so, in the midst of the chaos, the flinging magic, the fire and the wild animals, shrills the sound of a violin(1); from the corner illuminates hundreds of tendrils of light from the point beneath Cantio — to most in the bar, they latch onto the bottom of their feet, making their steps heavier. To a select few, the tendrils twist about their ankles like vines, and promptly explode into fire-fly like fragments, making their steps significantly lighter.
(1) Note of Momentum — The note of momentum allows you to play at a very quick pace, your music becoming very quick. For the next three post all allies who can hear your music will have their speed increased, able to move twice as fast as they normally could. In addition an enemy that hears this note will have their speed reduced, moving half as quickly as they normally could.

All of a sudden it seemed that everyone— well almost everyone— had started to move considerably slower. It was just when the sounds of the violin could be heard from one corner of the room. Tendrils of light had wrapped around Ulrich's ankles. He anticipated a negative effect of some kind, but— in truth— the vines had a different effect for him. They burst into pieces and he found that he was moving faster.
He looked around to see many of the other patrons had been slowed by this spell. He noticed that some of the others who'd been blessed with the positive effects of the spell were also people he knew. In the midst of the chaos he hadn't the time to recognize everyone.
The Tiefling man who'd started playing the violin, Cantio!
The young goblin woman, Tatalia! He'd helped her in the fight with the Dire Owlbear!
Was that Shaa he spotted?!
He spotted another man on the ground that he hadn't met before. He was blessed by the effects as well too so that meant that he must be friendly!
Another man had been attacked, and was currently in the jaws of a... Grizzly bear?!?! When did the bear get in here?! Actually, where had the Skunk and the Moose come from as well?!
There was no time to make sense of everything right now! A man was currently being mauled by a bear!
He quickly cast Bullet Dash, speeding through the room towards the bear. Due to the effects of Cantio's magic, Ulrich zoomed even faster than he anticipated! Instead of his fist meeting the ribs of the Grizzly, he barreled straight into the side of it with his shoulder! The Grizzly suddenly let go of it's grip on Ray as it flew sideways along with Ulrich. The Grizzly lay on it's side. The accidental blow coupled with the stab to it's throat had done it in. Ulrich had— on the other hand— flew through the air, landing on top of a table, and tumbling off the side of it.
He gave a groan of pain. It was not what he had planned, but he managed to save the man from being mauled. As if, he needed to do that. He noticed that he was blessed by the spell as well.
He stood up with a wince, fixing his crooked glasses. It was a miracle that they hadn't flown off his face and broken! He looked around at all the other slowed patrons. It was the opportune time for them to regroup while they had the chance.

It was utter chaos in the bar and Aldren had no idea what to do. The sudden burst of speed had him scrambling to his feet like he was slipping on ice, taking precious moments to gain his footing.
There was too much going on, the half-elf didn’t know how things escalated to quickly, there was smoke and lizards and bears intertwined in a tsunami of wonton violence and Aldren was only certain with one thing.
He wanted absolutely nothing to do with it.
Aldren tried to make his way to the exit again, but at the same time the bear who was mauling some poor man was sent flying at his direction, colliding with him and laying dead on top of him.
He was sure he was gonna get crushed under the weight, it certainly wasn’t how Aldren saw himself going out. He felt his lungs burning and his ribs cracking when an unlikely and unintentional savior came to his aid.
One of those pixies that escaped was firing more rays, one shot was incredibly off as it was bludgeoned by a flying mug, transforming him into a prickly, bright eyed porcupine.
At the moment Aldren was unsure what was going on, but the transformation got him out from under the bear, he knew he had to get to safety.
He spotted Cantio off in the distance and knew that he was his ticket out of the immediate brawl, with the speed of two porcupines combined, Aldren dashed towards the bard and attempted to run and climb up inside his shirt for safety, completely oblivious to the spines he now wielded…

It took a moment for Shaa to realize that the world around him had slowed down to a crawl. In the thrill of the fight he had not noticed everything that was happening. This wasn’t the first time that bad swamp ale could have messed with his perception of time. But this time, he was fast and everything else was slow. No, that wasn’t true. He was fast, and so was Ray and Tatalia. Shaa scanned the room, punched a lizard and finished scanning the room.
Was that Ulrich and Canito? And why in the world was he playing music in the middle of a bar fight? And when did that porcupine get here and why was it drinking a beer? A pixie blast wizzed past, barley missing him. This fight had moved from dicey to just plain weird. By Ginma’s hooves he loved brawls.
Shaa needed to take advantage of the slowness to do some damage control. He grabbed one of Wayne’s goons and slammed him on the bar, extinguishing the last of the flames. With a large shove, he slid the unconscious goon down the bar and into a skunk who was doing shots at the end. That guy would not be happy when he came to. A moose looked on with what seemed to be satisfaction.
As he tried to figure out what to do next, a shape in the corner caught his eye. It was Wayne! That little scab was trying to escape. Not with a super speedy Shaa on his trail. He vaulted a table and a couple sluggish lizard man, punching one as he went, he caught up to Wayne in a flash. Shaa hauled his fist back as a look of terror slowly crept across Wayne’s thick brow.
Before he he could clobber him however, a blue streak of light struck Wayne in the arm. Wayne grew heavier and heavier as the little halfling twisted and contorted into a shapeless mass of flesh. Shaa looked horrified at the now bubbling mass of singed skin and sinew. Wayne was a jerk but didn’t deserve that…probably. Something turned in his stomach. He could feel something dark…no not dark…evil. Out of nowhere, the mass started shooting forth tentacles. At the end of the tentacles, bulbs started to emerge, with one very large bulb forming at the center of the fleshy mass. Shaa was grateful for his speed as he backed away.
The bulbs on the mass started to quiver as if something was struggling to break out. Then, all at once, the bulbs burst revealing several small and one large eye and a gaping mouth with fangs. The mass then started to float without any apparent means. It was small and ugly, but there was no mistaking what was hovering in front of him now. A Beholder had entered the fray.

There are many different ways to respond to stressful situations. The most common solutions are "fight" and "flight," and while Tatalia certainly favored the latter, she quickly realized she was going to have to do a little of both.
The whole inn was erupting into chaos. There was a skunk, a moose, a porcupine, a bear, and a freaking beholder wreaking havoc around the room. Each of them, the goblin quickly realized, used to be a person. The reason they were no longer persons was because those awful little fairies had done something horrible. Chaos ensued.
Chairs flew; people screamed; animals roared and stamped their hooves; stomping feet went to and fro as they tried to escape the horrors of the room. Another couple stray beams from the pixies struck the ceiling, having no effect surprisingly enough. And the beholder, well... it reduced a hapless mercenary to cinders with a mere glance. Literally! The man was just a pair of boots amidst a pile of ash!
Tatalia took a deep breath. Her first objective was to survive. Her second objective was to keep as many people alive as she could.
"USE THE TABLES FOR COVER!" shrieked the goblin as loud as she could. "And don't let the animals or beholder escape! We can fix this!"
Tatalia wasn't actually sure the situation was fixable, but she had a plan. Oh, she had a plan.
The goblin ducked out of the way of a petrifying beam that turned a nearby mug of ale into a stone mug of ale. Then she weaved her way underneath the legs of a fleeing tavern patron who managed to get his head knocked against the moose's antlers and fall unconscious. One of the fairies giggled and promptly turned the unconscious man into a cow, which was just plain rude. But the act of rudeness gave Tatalia exactly what she needed: a clear path to follow!
The goblin hid behind a knocked over table before flicking the X-Ray lenses of her goggles down over her eyes. The magical lenses shimmered gently as everything hidden in the room was revealed to her. Two of the fairies were plotting, scheming, and giggling inside of an overturned beer mug. There was another fluttering up about in the rafters, and the fourth... Tatalia didn't know where the fourth was. But the fairies in the bottle were her target.
The goblin snuck through the battlefield that was the inn, doing her best not to stumble into any trouble. She swiped a plate off the floor, finally made it over to the mug with the two fairies in it... and quickly righted it and covered the lid with the plate all at once.
The fairies shrieked in surprise. Then Tatalia began shaking the covered mug with such vigor that the impish fey began bouncing up and down inside the mug, their heads hitting the plate and their rumps smacking against the bottom of the mug over and over. They flailed like ragdolls and screamed in frustration, the sound muffled by their prison.
"TELL ME HOW TO FIX THIS!" Tatalia demanded. "Tell me or I'll pluck your wings and eat them you scrawny little scamps!"
However, while Tatalia was interrogating the fairies, a certain beholder spotted what looked like an easy snack and started to approach, and the poor goblin was too focused on her important work to notice...

Ray only had a moment to take in the stranger that had tackled the bear off of him, though that moment felt a lot longer than it should have. The whole bar fight was now going in slow motion and Ray couldn't tell if it was the blood loss or some magic at work. The man who'd tackled the bear off him looked vaguely familiar, the memory of a headache seemed to come up in response to seeing him. That would need more thought later, many more pressing matters needed tending to.
It seemed the bear had only gored the stump of his right shoulder, it was bleeding profusely though and hurting terribly. Ray willed a surge of magic into the wound, enough to stop any major bleeding, and left the wound to be tended later.
Ray watched as the patrons brawled in slow motion, tracking the bolts of magic back to their origin he spotted a pixy giggling as it fluttered about the rafters. There was also a beholder eyeing a poor goblin girl who was currently screaming at a mug, which he deemed more urgent. Raising his blade towards the mass of eyeballs and flesh he sent a ball of screeching sonic energy flying into its center of mass. A loud boom echoed through the bar as the beholder was sent flying, bouncing off a wall with a disoriented look in all of its many eyes that now darted around trying to re-orient themselves.
His eyes now shot around again taking in the escalating scene around him. The fire that had started on the bar was still spreading about the room and the building was filling progressively with smoke.
With his new speed Ray was able to now quickly move through the bar and pick up a cloak that had been left behind from the man who'd been turned into a skunk. He quickly started flapping the cloak against the flames, smothering them and saving the bar from burning to the ground with everyone still inside of it.
As he finished putting the fire out a bolt of magic struck him in the back and he felt a weightlessness overtake him. He slowly began to lift off from the ground despite flailing his legs and taking a chair with him into the air. Ray slowly floated up into the rafters where he was met by a pixy giggling and pointing its finger at him just out of reach. It was a good vantage point though as he could see the whole bar and all the madness it contained now.
"By the Wanderer, I'll rip that self satisfied grin off myself, you little rot fly!!!" Ray exclaimed at the pixy as his feet now touched the roof and he righted himself upside down. It simply blew a raspberry at him in response...
