Ulrich "Just Some Guy" Ambriz Gender: MaleAge: 30Race: HumanNationality: King's ValleyHeight: 5'10Weight: 180 lbs Eye Color: BlueHair Color: BlackAppearance: Ulrich is a bespectacled man with soft features. He almost always has a smile on his face. His black hair is messily slicked back to reveal his ever inquisitive eyes behind the glasses. He wears a dark green jacket with a scarf wrapped around his neck, a red vest with a satchel strapped across his chest. His sleeves are rolled up revealing scars across his forearms. Although his scars are on full display, the rest of his appearance is quite unassuming. Many believe him to be just your average, every day, goofy, nerdy traveling scholar. That assumption is quickly proven wrong in the right circumstances, however.
He now brandishes two weapons on his hip. Alvis and Xavier; a peculiar looking dagger and a toy hammer. Both weapons have souls lingering within them; making them living weapons.Personality: Almost always with a smile on his face. He's usually quiet when travelling on his own, always observing the things around him. Soft spoken by choice, but when accompanied by fellow travelers he's comfortable with he has no problems with being more outspoken. Which usually catches those around him off guard. He's of a somewhat laid back demeanor, and he may disappear into the background sometimes. If he's not found stumbling about somewhere nearby, he's inquisitively taking in his surroundings. Often sketching and noting everything in his sketchbook. He does have a goofy side to him as well, displaying it to strangers he's met under unusual circumstances.
Due to his inquisitive and curious nature, Ulrich is often viewed as a scholar and researcher. Rightly so given the fact that he's always buried in his sketchbook, asking questions about everything around him. Many would find it hard for him to be distracted from this once he gets going. Accompanied with that, he is also someone a lot of people like to vent to. It may be due to the fact that he likes to listen to what everyone has to say. Trying to read the emotional energy of the room. His personality often has him stopping Alvis' antics at first, but eventually, Ulrich finds himself laughing along with the Dagger.
More recently, his parental instincts have kicked in with the adoption of a young Drake, Behir, and Pixie while traveling together with Leni-Aura. While he doesn't view see himself as one, he certainly displays some Dad-like qualities. Something he never thought he'd ever become due to his nomadic nature. However, he finds himself in full Dad mode seeing as quite literally has two children travelling along with him now.
As one would assume, his demeanor in combat is much the same as how he is normally. If he can avoid confrontation and escalation, he will do everything in his goofy nature to joke his way out of it. He will go out of his way to avoid and redirect any incoming attacks with swift movement. However, if the opponent proves to be a greater danger than previously thought, his demeanor will shift again. He adopts a more serious, calculating look. History: Ulrich's father, Richter: was a travelling merchant, painter, and sometimes adventurer. While his mother, Ulr'Meena, was a warrior of the Oh'Mek tribe. He grew up on the plains of King's Valley. As a child he had a fascination for adventuring and his parents would recount stories of their pasts adventuring with others. So as a child he had decided that he would follow in their footsteps and travel the world on his own when it came his time. While his father trained him in the skills of the arts to take in his surroundings, his mother trained him in the art of the sword, should he ever have the need to use it on his travels.
In his adolescence he was introduced to old friends of his parents' that hailed from the Crescent Isles. T he Hagumo sisters were, Natsuki and Yui, were the heads of their clan in Starlight City. The Hagumo Clan is a powerful family known throughout the Crescent Isles for their martial abilities; most notably, their abilities in hand to hand combat. Not only did they have amazing prowess in hand to hand combat, they were also masters of stealth and of utilizing the Sky Domain Arcana. After years of training, the sisters from Starlight City returned to the Crescent Isles, having taught Ulrich everything he needed to know about martial arts and magic. When Ulrich finally hit the age of 18 years old, he bid farewell to his parents and finally set off on his own adventures into the world.
Ulrich has traveled and seen many places over his nine years of traveling; archiving things worth noting in his sketchbook, meeting interesting people, and finding himself in interesting and dangerous situations. He has even seen his fair share of combat as well, though you wouldn't be able to tell due to his appearance and somewhat laid back demeanor.

Just Some Notable PeopleAlvis Worthington The spirit that inhabits Ulrich's dagger which he found in a treasure trove belonging to a famous pirate from long ago. Alvis was once a great and famous pirate hunter— or so he claims— and he died chasing The Violet Eyed Deviless, Marcia Calabran. Alvis is not a boring person to say the least. If there is a chance of shenanigans happening, Alvis' mischievous nature kicks in, serving as a means of comedy in most Ulrich's unfortunate situations. It's suspected that his humor during difficult situations like that is a way for him to cope with the stress. Having died while chasing the Violet Eyed Deviless, Alvis has a strong need to find the pirate whether she's still alive or has passed on. According to him, he had many encounters with the pirate on the seas. Some deadly, and some not as deadly. From what Ulrich has found out about Alvis and Marcia's connection, they shared an intimate relationship while Alvis was still alive. Ulrich has promised the spirit that one day they will find Marcia Calabran, but for now, Alvis has agreed to stay with Ulrich and share in his adventures until he feels that he's ready to find her.
Xavier Pendlehurst Another spirit inhabiting the toy hammer gifted to Ulrich by Ak'ka netting a bounty on a Minotaur. Xavier's attitude is slightly more serious than his dagger counterpart, but he is not above joining in Alvis' antics when he feels like it. For a great part of his life, Xavier was a scholar of the Magic Academy. Having been a student of the Academy in his youth, he decided to stay on— against the wishes of his peers— as a teacher for the younger generations to come. He later married a fellow scholar and left the Academy to see the world with the love of his life. In their old age, Xavier's partner was the first to leave Charon peacefully. Having made a promise to them, Xavier set off on his way back to his partner's homeland to spread their ashes, but he would never make it. He was caught by a group of bandits that cruelly ended his life. That wasn't the end for him, however, as he found himself awakened; possessing a toy hammer gifted to a man known as Ulrich. Having shared the tragic story of how his life ended; Ulrich promised that he would help him find the ashes of his partner, and when Xavier was ready, they would journey to their homeland to lay them to rest.
Lil Frijole A young Behir that Ulrich encountered while escorting a caravan through the Lightning Fields alongside Leni-Aura and Astrid. Lil Frijole was just a newly born Behir when he encountered Ulrich and the others. Having been swallowed and thrown back up by the mother Behir, Lil Frijole might've mistaken Ulrich for his parent due to the scent lingering on him. Although he is a Behir, Lil Frijole showed a considerable amount of restraint from attacking the others— as opposed to his many other siblings. Ulrich decided to adopt the young Behir— much to the chagrin of Nimbus— and raise him to be a benevolent Behir or make sure he wasn't as scary as a Behir usually is. Ulrich has taken to calling him his "son" as Lil Frijole possesses a particular personality, which he and Alvis find interesting and very amusing. This is only augmented by the fact that Valz— the sentient Mustache of Deceit— has taken a liking to Lil Frijole, and chooses to prop itself upon his snout almost all the time.
Aella A pixie who has an elemental affinity for wind magic. Aella was born of an egg that Ulrich found in the wilds of Charon whilst on one of his travels. The group isn't sure if she's not able to talk or if she chooses not to, but she understands them all the same. She can usually be found enjoying her time playing with Lil Frijole or just sitting atop his head. The young Behir has come to consider her his "younger sister", and so therefore Ulrich considers her another one of his "kiddos."
Richter Ambriz A former traveling merchant, artist, and Ulrich's father. In his younger days, Richter was also an adventurer, and would occasionally find himself in the middle of dangerous situations. It would seem that luck was passed down to his son. He met Ulrich's mother, Ulr'Meena, on one of his adventures. She happened to be hired into the same group of adventurers as he was. Even though they were polar opposites in how they went about solving things, they hit it off immediately, and were inseparable ever since. He eventually left his caravan of traveling merchants and settled down in King's Valley with Ulr'Meena.
Ulr'Meena Oh'Mek-Ambriz A strong female warrior from the Oh'Mek Tribe of King's Valley. Ulr'Meena is a muscular woman who likes to solve problems with the most direct approach. Yet, she can be gentle when she needs to be. As a native of King's Valley, Ulr'Meena is proficient in the art of hunting and fighting. Being a member of the Oh'Mek, she was around many outsiders traveling through King's Valley. Like Richter, she was also an adventurer in her younger days. She met Richter while on a job to escort a family that hired her and Richter's group. The pair immediately became close and were never seen without each other ever since. She eventually left the adventuring life behind, and settled down in King's Valley with Richter when they found out that they were bringing a certain future adventurer into the world.
Judith DeGracia Ulrich met Judith when they were both very young children. Her family had been travelling through King's Valley when they came across the Oh'Mek, meeting Ulrich's parents in the process. The Oh'Mek welcomed them with open arms, and they eventually decided to settle down in their community permanently. Ulrich and Judith were very close growing up. They shared the same disconnection from Ginma, and that made the two grow closer as most others in King's Valley shunned them. Judith eventually met and trained under the Hagumo sisters; former adventurers and close friends of Ulrich's parents. When they finally reached the appropriate age to venture out into the world on their own, the pair did. They promised to return to King's Valley every so often to make sure that they were both alive and well. Eventually Judith never showed on the day her and Ulrich were supposed to return to King's Valley, and she was never seen again.
Hagumo Natsuki Natsuki is an old friend of Ulrich's parents from back in their adventuring days. She is a lord of the Hagumo Clan of the Crescent Isles, a powerful family of warriors known for their mastery in almost every form of combat. Although, what they're most known for is their extraordinary prowess in hand to hand combat and what is called the Ways of the Shadow. She, along with her sister, Yui, met Ulrich and Judith when they were just entering their teenage years. They found that the two young teens shared a strong connection with the Sky Domain rather than their home region's typical Earth Domain. Taking this into consideration, and with suggestions from Ulrich's parents, Natsuki and Yui took the two teens as their apprentices. For years the two Hagumo sisters trained Ulrich and Judith on how to utilize the magic of the Sky Domain, the Martial Arts of the Crescent Isles, and the Ways of the Shadow.
Hagumo Yui Yui, like her sister, is an old friend of Ulrich's parents when they were young adventurers. She is also a lord of the Hagumo Clan of the Crescent Isles, although Natsuki is widely more recognized than her due to her more private personality. As such, she is the Lord Commander of the Hagumo Clan's Shadows. Along with her sister, Natsuki, she had met Ulrich and Judith in their young and impressionable teenage years. With gentle prodding from Ulrich's parents and consideration, she agreed to train the youths along with her sister to ready them for the world outside of the Valley. Given Yui's personality, she took special care when it came to teaching the two about the Ways of the Shadow.
