Vonoros sighed as he pulled at his coral lance from his last goon’s arm and wiped the sweat off his forehead.
He looked around proud of his and Sylvari’s work, destroying all of the guards, even the ones who were called in as backup and joined the fight toward the end. He kicked the last goon in his side as he moaned on the floor before turning to face his dance partner, “Yep, you know I was expecting more when I opened that small broom closet at least enough to keep us dancing longer. I guess that was too much to ask of bad guys, trust me they do not prioritize the quality of henchmen for the most part”.
He slid his coral lance and quarterstaff back into the sling on his back, his coral lance had taken some damage and would need to be put into salt water to regrow back to its full form. He then chuckled at the goons before conjuring a water bubble (1. Bouncing Bubble) in his palm, closing his eyes, and looking at the goons as friends. He then threw it at a goon and it bounced to two other goons, healing them slightly. He’d usually never do something like that but wanting to please Sylvari, he would at least help them out a little.
Suddenly Vonoros’s stomach roars out and he staggers back holding his abdomen with his right hand taken aback by the pain. The man hadn’t eaten a single meal today and was practically starving at this point.
He falls down on his back onto the wooden floor below as if he’d taken damage almost falling onto his back and whines, “Oh no Sylvari this is the end, I can't go on…I’m dying…..of HUNGER”, he then fake coughs and pretends to go limp.
He closes his eyes and whispers, “Unless a pretty vampire knight goes to dinner with me”, and returns to pretend limpness.

Sylvari rolled her eyes at the spectacle, but couldn't restrain the child-like giggling that escaped her lips from Vonoros' antics. Here in the midst of the carnage in this den of sin, after the whirlwind emotions from going from strangers to foes to friends, he still had the confidence to attempt such a cheeky proposal. He's either remarkably resilient, considering all he's been through, to still have such levity in his heart, or else his travails have left him quite cracked in the mind. Sylvari continued giggling at the thought, as her companion languished in his play devastation.
In truth, she wasn't quite sure how to feel. No one had ever expressed interest in her as a woman. More accurately, said interest never survived extended interaction with the justiciar. There had been several instances in her youth where various members of her people had reached out romantically, only to retract their offers in the face of her overwhelming might or dedication to her mission. In the time since her exile, it had been much the same, with the added barrier of her imposing darkened plate. Sylvari understood these barriers and the fact that her mission would drive her to the far ends of the earth in its fulfillment. She would ever be wed to justice first and foremost, a hardly fair arrangement for any romantic entanglement.
Surely a small dinner date is ok, though, right? If nothing else, it's an excuse to minister to Vonoros' hurt. Sylvari displayed an impish smile after having thought of her response. "Idiot. Well, I suppose, but if you thought I was a poor dance partner, be prepared for an exceptionally awful dinner companion. Mortal food doesn't agree with my new physiology, unfortunately."

The triton slowly got up with a smile, he’d just found his new favorite sound, and her giggle was captivating. For once in a very long time, he’d found that he had care and affection for another person. The last time he fell in love it went bad, she had tricked him and used him for a political assassination and threw him out like yesterday’s garbage the moment he finished the job. He had even had a physical reminder about it when he looked down at his abdomen spotting the same stabbing scar from it. He wouldn’t even be here if it wasn’t for his good swimming abilities and useful pretending-to-die skill.
He shook his head removing those thoughts from his head as he walked over to her, “Hmmm, I might know a place, after all, we’re in my backyard here, I know this area like the back of my webbed hands. Being a vampire isn’t exactly a problem, at least for a certain restaurant, my brother found it when he visited once. It’s called The Twisted Spoon. It should have something there for you to eat. I met the owner. She's super nice and just wants everyone to be able to eat. Although I will warn you it’s a little shady looking but kinda high class. It’s meant for people like crime bosses to meet up and talk without worrying about silly things like a dagger to the back of the head”.
He then motions outside with charming smile, "So what do you say Sylvi would you like to join me dearest".

Sylvari smiled, visibly excited at the offer. Unfortunately, this was not a result of eagerness for a date. Gods smile upon me! I've been trying to get in there for a month so I could get eyes on the biggest dealers of lawlessness in the city, but they always turned me away. Now, with Vonoros, I'll have an in! Hmm, I'll have to shirk the armor, or they'll find me out right away. I should still have the dress I picked out with Addie...
Sylvari suddenly realized she had been zoning out and grinning a little disturbingly to herself, so she plastered an embarrassed smile onto her face as she looked to her triton partner. "Ahem, yes, that would be very much appreciated. If you don't mind, however, I am a bit covered in spittle and," she stated with disgust as she plucked a canine that was lodged in the seam of her pauldron, "Teeth, apparently. Would you be a dear and wait for me to get changed?"
Sylvari punctuated her words with her most winning smile, feeling more confident just at the thought of being able to wear the dress again. It was the one garment in the world that neared the feeling of her armor in terms of power.

Vonoros couldn’t help but smile as he saw that Sylvari was excited, he was planning on going there himself considering he would’ve had thousands of solars in his hand but alas he’d won something a lot better in this heist, the company of a Sylvari. He knew this was going to be great for the justicar considering how obsessed with justice she was. He was used to staying and eating at the most shady and dangerous dens so eating at a decently safe place with a lovely lady across from him.
He then chuckles as Sylvari excuses herself, “Yeah, yeah no worries I get it, it would be a good idea not to show up fully armored even as cute as that may be. Considering the crowd there that’d probably just put everyone on edge. I also need to clean up”, he says motioning towards his hands and feet covered in blood, "How about we meet there in like thirty minutes? Sounds good?”.
After listening to Sylvari’s parting words he taps his sandals (1. Long Stride) and then jumps out the window leaving the building where he entered shouting, “Seeya in 30 pretty lady”. He landed on the street floor below and looked around thinking, “Damn, I do need to get myself cleaned up, gotta get some decent clothes, and more importantly get this blood off me”.

Sylvari smiled softly and shook her head as she looked around the room. Thirty minutes was just enough time to make her report at the constable's headquarters, change into her dress, and meet Vonoros at the restaurant, but only if she didn't dally. She would typically offer to cuff and escort the thugs to the local holding cells, but she was on a tight schedule today.
Fifteen minutes and a short walk later, Sylvari was absolved of her legal duties. She quickly changed into her dress, feeling that familiar feeling of rightness as soon as her hand touched the fabric. The dress was sleek and form-fitting, but not suffocating. It was bereft of the ruffles and excess laces that Sylvari disliked, seeming a continuous piece of black silk sculpted perfectly for her body. The garment was bare at the arms, save for a line of fabric, about a hand wide, that draped over her left shoulder, holding the outfit in place. It snaked down her body, hugging and supporting her gentle curves as it fell down to her ankles, unbroken in its simple beauty, save for a leg slit on the right side that went just above knee-level.
It was the most exorbitant piece of clothing Sylvari had ever, and likely would ever, own, the one bit of selfishness she had allowed herself since her exile. Sylvari sighed, enjoying the feeling of the cloth as she admired her reflection in a nearby mirror. Now for the hair, seven minutes left. Without time to tease her long locks into anything fancy, Sylvari merely decided to release her mane of white from the ponytail she kept it bundled into for combat. Thankfully, it wasn't insistent on being ornery today, and Sylvari heaved a satisfied smile. Good enough for a soiree with the swindlers. She finished the look with her customary veil placed over her eyes once more.
Right on time, Sylvari found herself wandering up the designated street, stopping a block short of the actual entrance, bereft of her escort.

Vonoros quickly sprinted towards one of the local taverns holding his hands behind his back and sneakily went into the bathroom to clean. He wiped off the blood from his body looking like he didn’t brutally wipe the floor with those phonies. He then took off as if he never entered the tavern in the first place, “All alright twenty minutes, now how can I make myself presentable, I have like maybe enough to buy something off a vendor quickly and pay for me and Sylvi”.
He was about to head over to the market before stopping mid-sprint, “Nah that won’t cut it, I need to be at least nice-looking to impress her, hell I’m sure just wearing shorts and a nice shirt won’t be enough”.
“Ugggghh”, the triton exclaims, holding his head knowing his only option left is, “Do I have to go to her? Last time I did she tried to upcharge me 500 solars for having an ugly face and being stupid”.
“Fine”, the triton sighs as he makes his way towards the back alleys into the slums of the Pale City.
He walked into a glitzy and haughty-looking store with a giant sign that read, 'Beauty Palace', and walked up to the counter yelling, “Rilla, it’s me I’m here on business”.
Suddenly a red triton woman with large sunglasses and octopus tentacles for legs rushes forth almost falling over as she runs up to him, “My dearest little brother what do I owe the pleasure? Here to pay me back for bailing you from jail last month?”.
The triton sighs, “Nah, I have a date in like 15 minutes, I like the girl but I’m poor and don’t want to make a bad impression”.
The woman spins around with joy, “Woooo, my brother liking someone no way, have the stars fallen on earth. Why do we have no time ? We must act now, follow me”.
She pulls him into the back rooms where she holds closets and closets of clothes holding him there as she sorts through them looking for a perfect outfit. She eventually settles on the perfect one and quickly shoves him into the dressing room to change.
The triton sighs a little uncomfortable at her choices most of which involved wearing shoes which for the man who constantly wore sandals was torture. He came out quickly fully dressed, his hair tied back into a ponytail, a hair tie holding back his long flowing waves of hair together. He wore a white dress shirt with its sleeves rolled back with seashell buttons but kept the top three ones open to reveal his chest, black dress pants lined with gold fabric at their sides, and finally a pair of black dance shoes. He was all set and looked at himself in the mirror, “Not bad, huh”.
“Yes of course, I know I’m good now hurry, the date starts in 5 minutes go, go, go, I’ll only charge you if it goes bad now go have fun bye”, his sister Rilla shouts as the triton sprints out of the store. He sprints the whole way a blue-dressed blur before slowing down as he approaches the entrance, he then spots her in all her beauty.
He stopped in front of her and took a second to breathe glad he made it on time right on the second, “Hey there pretty lady, I was looking for this beautiful but stern vampire lady I had a date with. You wouldn’t know where she is would you”, he chuckles at the obvious joke but still, he was taken aback by her full beauty mesmerized for a second before shaking his head focusing back, “You look more than perfect Sylvi almost as good as you did with the blood on your armor when we messed up that hench folk”.
He then offers out his hand to her to walk in together and says, “Well Sylvi what do you say? Would you join me inside”.

"Stern?" Sylvari asked with a dazzling smile that rivaled the noonday sun. "Darling, I prefer the term devoted, or perhaps diligent. You make it sound as if I don't know how to have fun." Sylvari leaned forward, tucking an errant hair that had escaped Vonoros' tie on his hurried trip over behind his ear as an excuse to get close and whisper. "And let's keep my vampirism between us, dear. Our little secret."
Sylvari gave an impish little grin as she pulled away, lacing her arm around Vonoros' outstretched one. As the pair walked inside the restaurant, blessedly unmolested by the staff guard at the entrance, Sylvari suppressed a small gasp. If one needed to see where all the wealth of the lower city could possibly have gone, they needed look no further. The lavish interior of the place rivaled the resplendence of even the palace. Men and women walked by in clothing that easily put Sylvari's luxurious dress to shame. The opulence was almost blinding.
A person more committed to the outcome of the date may have reasonably questioned what sort of reputation or secret wealth Vonoros had to warrant a standing invitation to such a venue, but Sylvari's eyes were already scanning the established patrons of one target in particular. True to her hunch, she spotted out the man by his large build and immaculately maintained beard: Flavius Le Fey, scourge of the undercity. A predatory smile appeared on Sylvari face. Now I've got you, you rat.

Vonoros couldn’t help but let out a low-toned chuckle as he felt Sylvari tuck a strand of hair behind his ear.
He nodded in agreement deciding it for the better to keep the woman happy, for the first time in a very long time he had the dumbest grin on his face as he felt her arm locked on his. He was happy and was falling for the vampire woman already for he had bared his soul to her and she was one of the only people alive at least who knew about his bloody history.
He walked inside the foyer and couldn’t help but chuckle at his date’s hungry eyes as she scanned the inside ahead of them. He couldn't keep his eyes off of her she looked as beautiful as she did when she was beating up those goons which was a lot. He chose the place for two reasons, they were the only place to accommodate her certain palate as well as let her have a glance at his life. He knew for someone who loved justice as much as her this would be like taking a good to a candy store.
He walked over to the Hostess, a regular-looking dark elf fellow, about to get them a table when suddenly a small halfling woman rushed over as she laid her eyes on Vonoros.
“Is that Vonoros? Oh, what brings you here Sonny? Ouu on a date with a pretty girl I see. Oh, where are my manners? Hello there miss my name is Madame Nocera owner of this place”, she says as she glances towards Sylvari, “Don’t worry about checking in, just come follow me I’ll get you seated after all your date here is my favorite trash cleaner”, she winks at him referring to the time he destroyed an unruly guest. Since then she had always looked out for the fellblood giving him food or a place to stay when he needed it.
As Vonoros walked behind her alongside Sylvari, all eyes were completely on him, some piercing like daggers, others soft and familiar even waving at the man.
He reaches over and whispers to Sylvari, “Fair warning dearest almost everyone here knows me as something, a friend, a previous work affiliate, enemy, rival, sworn nemesis, so I’m sorry if I have all this attention on me. This is absolute neutral ground for everyone so we don’t have to worry about anything now at least”.

Sylvari was careful to keep her face affixed firmly on anything but the dark elf, the man in question being the one to alert the guards several times to escort her off the premises. If he were to recognize her now, this whole thing would go up in flames. Luckily, the owner of the establishment was quick to intervene, eager to talk with Vonoros. Even more fortunately, the regular host was attending to other guests and thus did not look over, even when Madame Nocera drew attention to Sylvari.
"You're too kind, Madame Nocera. I thank you for attending to us." Sylvari followed after the owner and Vonoros' lead, quirking a brow at the unorthodox euphemism Madame Nocera used for her dinner partner.
At Vonoros' words, Sylvari became keenly aware of the attention on him and, by extension, her. Several sets of eyes lingered on the handsome pair longer than was strictly necessary, though not all were friendly. In a flight of panic, Sylvari turned her gaze toward her target, who was blessedly much too busy to stare over at them. Hmm, Vonoros' notoriety is an obstacle I wasn't anticipating. Need to find a way to make my move.
Sylvari smiled and whispered to Vonoros, "I can see that quite plainly, darling. I take it this is a frequent haunt of yours, then?"

Vonoros smiled at her and whispered back, “Yes, you could say that, I mentioned discovering this place with my brother but that was the short story about Madame Nocera, spaghetti, and two rowdy minotaur bandits”.
Soon after listening to Sylvari’s response, the two are escorted to their table, a circular metal table accompanied by two fancy swivel chairs. He walks over to Sylvari’s seat and opens it for her waiting for her to sit before pushing her forward slowly seating her. The triton was well versed in the art of manners from his childhood having to parlay as a member of an estate’s staff many a political assassination. Even if he hated following them but he'd oblige for Sylvi's sake to make a good impression. He then walked over to his seat and made himself comfortable as Madame Nocera waited politely clasping her small hands. Madame Nocera then takes a minute to just stare at Sylvari, eyes intent on her before nodding noting something to herself. Vonoros was used to the quirky old woman’s behavior so didn't even bother saying a word.
“Alright, your food will be out shortly, don’t worry about ordering. I know what you want my dears just by looking at you”.
Vonoros chuckled before reaching into his pocket grabbing solars to hand to Nocera to pay but she instead smacks the money back into his pocket.
“No worries dear, it’s in the house, consider it thanks for all your work in the past, just worry about enjoying your evening with the sweet girl here”, and with that, she leaves.

Sylvari quirked a brow at the immaculate service, from no less than the owner of the establishment, and concluded that Vonoros' was being a touch too modest, or else the Madame was perhaps too doting. A wry smile worked its way onto her lips.
"Must have been quite the pair of minotaurs to earn you this much respect." A sly thought crossed Sylvari's mind as she twirled a lock of hair around her finger. "Or else, I must be the first girl you've brought home?"
There was a questioning lilt behind the vampiress' tone, but she wouldn't press the matter if Vonoros elected not to respond. Silence was an answer that told much, after all.
Sylvari adjusted in her seat, so as to keep Le Fey in her field of vision, as her unconscious mind, trained by Romarii's exacting instruction took hold of her part in the conversation. Sylvari felt a pang of guilt at not offering Vonoros her full attention, but her commitment to justice had demanded much of her in the past. The death of polite sensibility was among the least of the casualties.

Vonoros chuckles softly at Sylvari’s response and says, “Oh it was you shoulda seen ‘em two super buff dudes who thought they were the talk of the two hello they were twice my size. Didn’t matter though both fell pretty easy and were taken care of and thrown out with the trash as they belonged. Madame Nocera's a nice lady, I owe her a lot. She's looked out for me for a while now so checking on this place and keeping it in check when I’m here is the least I can do. After all, I enjoy keeping the woman in my life safe, as for bringing girls home, nah I can’t say I do. Usually after beating the crap out of someone or revealing how you’re an assassin who can kill people in a million different ways tends to make you unapproachable, I'm told at least from my friends.
“You’re the first woman I’ve been able to be so honest with, Sylvi, the only one who hasn’t tried stabbing me through the abdomen or gotten the constables to throw me in jail. Well not yet at least”, he joked playfully.
“So what else do you do besides being passionate about your job and goals?”, he says referring to her position as a justicar not wanting to say the details out loud considering where they were at.

A peal of light laughter clear as a bell came from Sylvari at Vonoros' words. "I wouldn't get too comfortable, there, Vonoros. I was able to let you off the hook before because you came to my aid and had noble intentions. The night is young, though, and there's still plenty of time to haul you off to the sheriff if you misbehave."
The tone of Sylvari's playful talk showed the justiciar's good mood, but, as ever, there was a hard edge undergirding her words that spoke of the fact that she was telling the truth, however lightly said.
"What else is there besides my 'job', eh? Let me see..." Sylvari brought a single pale finger to her deep red lips in a gesture of thinking. I guess if you strip away the whole 'fighting evil in a non-stop war' thing, I don't have very many hobbies. I can't say that, though! I sound like some kind of lunatic! Sylvari sighed. This is what Romarii meant when she said I needed to have something else to discuss in light conversation. Oh wait, that should count, right?
Sylvari cleared her throat bashfully and tucked a stray strand of hair behind her left ear. "I suppose, my favorite thing to do is to watch the stars. I love looking up at the night sky and seeing how big and grand the universe is. It makes me feel insignificant, and I find that a comforting thought." Sylvari had a soft, almost sad, smile on her face as she spoke.

The triton held his hands out jokingly waiting for the lovely woman to take him away. He was delighted to hear her laugh; it was growing to be his new favorite sound. He wanted to keep hearing it.
“Of course darling I thank you for being so kind and letting a poor old thief go”.
He chuckles slightly realizing how cheesy and gaudy what he’s about to say, “The only misbehaving things I plan to do are just crimes of passion. Stealing your heart and smile is my only goal now and you have my word as a master criminal that I shall try my best dear”.
He keeps his eyes on her still mesmerized by her before responding, “Watching the stars, huh that’s pretty cool, stars are pretty beautiful although not as much as you. You’re not insignificant Sylvi you’re pretty significant at least in my humble opinion. You’re incredible and as brilliant as those stars in the sky”.
As Vonoros said Sylvari would notice that the tables at the corner of the room were giving the triton a piercing gaze.
The triton then asked, “So considering helping people seems to be your number one passion, how’d that start? What inspired you to be such a kind and humble lady that you are?”, he winks at her as signaling to mean knight but not wanting to throw her cover as a justicar.
