The Gods are dead.
For the longest time it would seem, whenever she closed her eyes, the images that flashed in her mind were the memories of another, stolen during the heat of battle - and meant much more than she had hoped to achieve at the time.
The Gods have been dead for a long time...
The Witch had accepted the truth quickly - almost eagerly - as the battle at Arid Mesa unfolded around her, but the weight of such finding would only truly hit her later, when her mind was silenced and the heat of the battle had worn off. Only then, away from Arid Mesa and already at home, with news of chaos and confusion all around Charon, did the Witch really embrace the new reality: the Gods are dead. All the time spent trying to come to terms with them.... all the time trying not to hate them... It meant nothing now. All the prayers, all the tears and rage and forced compassion and understanding, all...
Maybe her father was right on this one, after all. All along, it were not the Gods or faith or blessings the source of their power - they were never dependant on their mercy or gifts. If not the Gods, who would stop them if they were to-
"What’s on your mind, little one? I think this was not what the Archdruid was talking about..."
Kalaf had been sleeping besides her, both enjoying the peace of the forest and serving as her guardian, his sheer presence being enough to dissuade smaller threats. Kamille had thought numerous times that Kalaf's struggle with sleep was aggravated by the fact he was a surprisingly light sleeper. With Mischief out to croak somewhere else and only the soothing sound of the river before them, the quiet forest on their back, she expected the black drake to have a peaceful sleep, but somehow it didn’t happen. As they spent time together, Kamille had come to notice how they have been able to understand each other better, without the need for the Message spell or the Necklace of Animal Speech. Most of the times, a simple glance exchanged brought more meaning than words could express, and she would often wonder if the drake could actually feel what she was feeling too...
"Open your eyes, little one. Take a look around."
For a second, the early afternoon sun reflected on the surface of the river blinded her. Just like the Archdruid had instructed her, she had found a quiet, peaceful place to sit, at the shadow of a large oaktree near her house. The druids would often sit in lotus position, with their legs crossed and back straight, so she did that too. Meditate, the Archdruid had said, clear your mind and maybe you will be able to hear what the land has to say. It suffers and we haven’t been able to find out what is happening. Maybe someone proficcient in the arcane arts such as yourself will get another answer from it. But she wasn’t a druid, and there was no voice in her head but her own, making for the experience a very frustrating one.
When her eyes adjusted to her surroundings, Kamille noticed with a fright what Kalaf was referring to: in a radius of five feet around her, the ground, the plants and the tree were dead and charred, as if struck by a lightning bolt or fireball. The air was heavy with arcane residue, enough to make a few strands of her hair stand up. Kamille stood up hurriedly, looking around in plain confusion.
Never before had she felt out of control. Never. She had had an iron grip over her power, every strand of mana and arcane might she could gather was carefully tended for and arranged, neatly woven in a concise order of spells and special abilities. Never before had she felt the pull of chaos so strong, her magic so unstable and....
...so much power.
What is happening to me?
Kalaf's scorching eyes watched her, blinking slowly.
"You are bleeding magic, little one... I didn’t know this could happen..."
"I don’t like how this sounds... I've seen this before, but... Not quite like this..."
"Can you stop it? You're making the ground shake..."
"That’s not me, Kalaf."
She had failed so spectacularly at "clearing her mind", she had missed the distinct, rumbling feeling beneath her feet.
"When did this start, Kalaf?"
"A few moments ago."
As the Witch hurriedly put on her boots back, a confused drake watched, finally raising his head from his coiled position, like a snake.
"What’s wrong?"
"I don’t know. But I need to find out."
The quiet forest behind them wasn’t so quiet all of a sudden, as the sound of frightened wildlife spreaded from within. Kamille saw a few sparrows flying away, but most importantly, a high pitched croak reached her ears - and she was able to recognize that one anywhere.
"CAWWWW CAWWW CAAAAAAAAAAAWWWW! DANGEEEEERRRRR!
"What happened, Mischief?!"
"The village! CAAAAWWWW THE VILLAGEEEE CAAAAAWWWWW!"
She didn’t need much more, even if Mischief was finding trouble to express himself, a rare enough occasion. Kamille jumped to her feet and extended her hands towards Kalaf. No other words were needed, as they required nothing more than the strength of the intention due to their connection, rider and beast. Kalaf lowered his shoulder so she could jump on his back and spread his wings to take the sky. The black drake's wings would take minutes to take her through a journey that on foot meant the best part of half an hour, and for that she was glad - once more - for having Kalaf with her.
What the fuck is happening here?!
As Moonveil Village came into sight, she could imediatelly see something was wrong, but she didn’t expect her heart to sink so low as she witnessed a large chasm opening right in the middle of the village. It looked like the claw of a giant, invisible demon was tearing the earth as easily as it would tear a piece of silk, and while she had a healthy estimate of her skills, as rider and beast quickly made their descend from the skies, for a split second the doubt slithered in her mind:
Was there something she could do?

Javal had been at Moonveil Village for the past couple of days since he and Cyran had stopped the dastardly “Herder” from relaxing and taking a break from almost dying. He and the Drakon Security Company were relaxing and enjoying themselves at a tavern enjoying drinks and food. Then suddenly Javal felt a rumbling all around him, it felt like the entire village itself was shaking. Suddenly the tavern that they were in started to be destroyed, it was then that the Security Company sprinted into action.
Javal barks orders hurriedly, “Nadia, Bootsamon, and I will help evacuate people from the tavern and Moonveil in general, Ariadne you search around try to find anybody trapped or in danger report back as soon as you find something”.
“YES SIR”, his employees say taking action.
Javal shouts, “Everyone out of the tavern now, go, go, out”
He manages to help almost all of the tavern out with Nadia and Bootsamon’s help except for the owner who sprained his ankle while trying to salvage some supplies. Javal manages to escape the tavern carrying the injured tavern owner on his back. He gives him to another citizen and they both run away. Javal was glad that in a time of such great peril, some people were still so kind.
“Nadia, Bootsamon, keep doing what you’re doing help anybody you can escape”, Javal yells scrambling to help injured people, kids, and the elderly. He and his band were trying their best but it seemed the disaster had no end in sight soon all the injured people and wreckage were starting to get to hard for the company to handle on their own Javal hoped that other people would step up and help everyone out.

Post by Leni-Aura Thunderpaw on Apr 8, 2023 11:08:05 GMT -5
Once upon a time, Leni-Aura could have listed each and every omen that her clan had taught her to believe in: each misfortune, each foretelling, each divination of Avasha that she had believed wholeheartedly until the day she was exiled. She could put into words the confusion and anger she had felt when she stepped beyond the border of Dragon’s Cradle to find the world so different, so hard to understand. Avasha seemed softer in these lands; she was a daughter, a sister, a guardian; she cradled her disciples between her wings and guided them with her voice on the wind. It had seemed so abstract at first, and although Leni-Aura had listened with furrowed brows and pursed lips, she had nothing to lose from listening; and then thinking; and then changing her outlook. The transition was hard; but the Avasha of Charon painted by those outside her clan made more sense; the gift she’d gained before she left Dragon’s Cradle made sense. She wanted so desperately to honour that git; and countless hours beneath a mentor’s guidance, with just as many spent in isolation; had eventually led to her proficiency with it. For a time, she was… content with that, too; she felt connected to something, even when Ulrich had gone his own way, or the caravan and she temporarily parted. She began to read the wind in a different way; she began to appreciate the storms as something beyond the anger and frustration of a merciless goddess seeking a sacrifice; and she began to feel less as a failure and exile in her own identity. … Then she chose to chase the wind too far. She’d wanted so desperately to plunge her spear through Scern’s chest after the incident; upon learning Avasha was dead, that she was always dead within her lifetime, something hollow opened within her. A void she’s not sure how to fix. It was the second time what she believed had been pulled from beneath her paws, but this one hurt more than either of the last: everything was just a lie. It was always a lie. She’d been played. She felt a fool. Everything she’d gone through was wrong and pointless; each second she spent agonizing over omens and prayers was pointless; each comfort she took in a gentle breeze with coincidental timing was… It was all pointless. She needed time; and in that time, she parted ways with her caravan: gods… well, heavens knew what she thought that would do for her. Orym’s smile was sad, but she just… needed to figure some things out, and she didn’t know how; she didn’t know what traveling through the Moonglade would do for her, but there was… some woman she had distant recollection of— one who was there, with her hand on Scern’s shoulder— a witch that she’d only heard about in name. She’s not very good at asking for help. It was a shot in the dark, and after the news spread like a plague throughout Charon, it’s hard to believe that even the witch might know where to begin.
It’s been some time since she felt the soft blades of the Moonglade beneath her paws; and last she was here, Nimbus was so much smaller. She feels him resting around her neck, tail coiled, and chest rising against the back of her neck while he dozes in the mid-morning sun. After a long travel through the Moonveil forest to arrive at its city, she takes a moment to catch her breath before she will drag herself into the tavern to sleep away the day; but in the meantime, she watches the early morning activities of Moonveil’s locals. She feels Nimbus perk up on her shoulders, but doesn’t think much of it. The hustle and bustle of Moonveil is much less than Eclipse or Sol City; both places Leni-Aura is not fond of given how crowded the streets are. It makes her feel trapped; there’s too many eyes; too many people looking, or pushing, or shoving. Moonveil is a lot quieter, though; it’s cozier, with significant gaps of reprieve between individuals on the move. A worried chittering fills her right ear, and Leni-Aura swivels towards it. “ Mati?” She turns her head slightly to look at Nimbus; there’s something worried in his eyes, a glassiness that she doesn’t recognize. “ Nimbus, what is it?” No sooner does she finish speaking does she feel the very earth lurch under her paws; Leni-Aura gasps, nearly knocked off her balance by the violence of the quake. She spits a flurry of curses in halfling as Nimbus flaps his wings wildly, trying to remain on her shoulders to no avail; in the end, the baby drake leaps off and hovers in the air, worriedly squawking at her. She’s felt remnants of the earth shakes plaguing Charon since that awful day; but she’s never felt one so violent before. Startled shrieks and worried calls for caution transform quickly into fearful shouts as the ground groans; Leni-Aura feels a shift beneath both sides of her feet— one lower, and one higher. She stumbles on the feeling before she bounds into the air; and catches herself just above the earth as it splits down the middle. (1)She finds herself at the beginning of it; watching the earth crack and split across the center of Moonveil Village with wide eyes. The locals stagger and stumble, caught on either side as the earth groans and shifts; the air is filled with the moan of wood and crumbling of cobblestone as supports in the buildings begin to crack and shudder. The earth beneath an elven woman’s feet starts to crumble as she falls back; and Leni-Aura is a blur to get to her. (2) She catches her by the hand just as the earth collapses, pulling her sharply, and back onto solid ground. (3)The woman gasps, wincing slightly as she scrambles up to her feet, wide-eyed. “Back! Get back from the edge! It is not stable!” She booms as far as her voice will carry; Nimbus dashes by her, squawking and startling those he deems too close to the edge to push them back. She feels her heart skip, able to avoid the shaking of the earth with that same gift that feels so wrong now; but standing a foot above the ground, she can see so clearly the violence that the shake is causing. “Get everyone out of the buildings! If this gets much bigger, they are going to fall in!”

Moonveil village was probably one of the few places in Charon to be able to pride themselves of not despairing at the sight black drake on the skies for most of the times, as Kalaf had become known on that area. Not only that, but the presence of rider and beast was often enough to avoid monsters and evildoers of any kind to become too comfortable and harrass the small, quiet village of gatherers and druids.
But what about when the land itself tore apart? What could they do?
She didn't know. But it wouldn't stop her from trying.
"MISCHIEF! GO GET THE DRUIDS! NOW!"
Kamille yelled against the whiplashing wind, releasing Mischief from her arms and allowing him to take another route to go fetch the druids. They would probably know what to do, or at least would be able to help with the wounded. It was frustrating. For all of her might and arcane power, what could she do in that situation? One second feeling like she had so much magic that it was overflowing and slipping through her fingers, only so that she would feel that it was all for nothing on the next moment. What good was all that power if she couldn't protect the people?
Enough with the anxiety, focus on what's ahead of you. Focus on what you can do. The Witch quickly put on her white mask, one that seemed to be made of bone and imitated the beak of a bird, not unlike a raven or a crow [1]. That would keep the dust from blinding her, and so she should be able to see without much impediment.
When the black drake's wings casted their shadow upon the village, soaring overhead in great circles to assess the situation, Kamille spotted a few villagers trapped between some falling buildings and a large gap that spreaded through the main street. Kalaf quickly made his way down from the skies, the weigh of his landing adding to the earthquakes. When Kamille finally put her two feet on the ground, she could truly feel the magnitude of such event: even her newfound ability to feel the earth made her feel blind, the same way a person would barely see through the fog [2]. Still, she traced a path from when she was flying overhead.
"Kalaf, can you bridge the gap?"
As much as the villagers were afraid of the giant lizard, which made them hesitate approaching, they seemed to trust Kamille enough when she urged them to climb on the drake's back. Kalaf was large enough to cover the chasm that had opened in the middle of the street, lowering as close to the ground as he could. One by one, Kamille quickly urged the villagers to cross the gap on the drake's back, more or less safely reaching the other side of the street, where they would have a clear path out of the village.
"The northern exit is safe. Go to the woods for now. The druids are coming," she tried to quickly explain to the people as she helped them cross the drake bridge.
"B-but Kamille! M-my house! My savings!"
"Don't be an idiot, Carl! You won't need them if you're dead!"
Carl was more or less shoved on the back of the dragon, only to hold on to Kalaf's back spikes as the ground crumbled beneath them even more. The gap was getting wider, which forced the dragon to jump to one side of it carrying Carl over. The man didn't seem to enjoy the ride, as he quickly jumped off of his back and ran away without looking back.
"Help them get out safely, Kalaf!"
The drake merely blinked once, before wobbling off with the intent of an unstopabble bull in charge, roaring at the people near the edge to force them out of the way. Move or be moved. Yeah, she assumed that worked. The building behind her finally collapsed, but luckly she acted quick enough and was able to merely disappear from one side of the gaping wound on the ground to the other, her image shimmering softly like a mirage before appearing far ahead [3].
Around her, buildings were crumbling, people were running scared and confused, some trying to salvage a few goods and personal items. Kamille reached out inside her purse and took her two pieces of chess - two rooks -, whispering a few words of power before throwing them on the ground. The pieces landed with all of the weight of two, six foot tall stone gargoyles, both of them towering over her with the same blank expression [4].
"Help the villagers get out of town safely. Guide them safely towards the northern exit. Check for every building that might have someone trapped and help them out."
The gargoyles promptly headed to fulfill their orders - luckly, if the people were used enough to her shenanigans, they would also recognize Sir Prize and Miss Fortune as being her minions.
The half elf had finally noticed someone she had never seen around there, someone........ that was also a bunny?! Were her eyes playing tricks on her?! Well, now was the time to find out, as she promptly approached.
"Are you okay? The path to the northern exit is clear!"
While helping people out of the tavern, Javal would feel the eyes of a particularly tall half-elf on him, one that seemed to be helping out a woman that apparently had hurt herself while trying to run. The man was dressed all in black, and with the woman safely on his back, he quickly approached Javal.
"Mr. Zarrias! Is that you? I'm Edgar, do you remember? I was with Mistress Kamille, at Zeinav! Come this way, it's safe this way!"
Javal would notice there were two more with him, another man and a smaller woman, all of them helping the people out of the buildings. Sadly he didn't have much time to spare with pleasantries in the midst of chaos, but quickly led the group and the villagers out through a path he knew to be safe, avoiding the large chasm that had opened in the middle of the village.
The ground shook, the buildings crumbled and it felt like this whole ordeal was far from over.

Javal’s brain was currently being overtaken by wild panicked filled thoughts, thinking about all of the chaos, the screaming, and all the people being hurt all around him. He could see his team do everything they could Nadia directing people to safe escape routes, Bootsamon being as physically strong as he was, was carrying all of the injured people as he could and taking them away in trips, Ariadne was scuttling around the field chirping to his team directing their attention, even Myrra’s constantly scared self was scaring people away from dangerous areas with her ghostly guidance. As he ran across the city to find anyone still injured, he heard a cry calling for their mom. He sprinted to the source as fast as he could hoping against hope that he could do something to help. He arrived in a huff in front of a crumbling house with a small girl holding a teddy bear and a debris pile.
Javal tried his best to take off that panicked look on his face and decided to wear a wide heroic smile, “Hello there young lady how can I help you? Where’s your mommy”?
The crying girl barely manages to stutter her words out, “M-my momm-my’s u-under the there please help her mister” and she points to the debris pile in the middle of the destroyed house.
Javal runs over to the pile of debris and starts ripping out as much as he can, soon the pile starts gets opened enough for Javal to spot a young human woman coughing.
He tries to push the negative thoughts away and smiles, “It’s okay young one and young one’s mother, I am here now you are safe”.
He finally manages to finish making a decent dent in the pile of debris, enough to pull the mother out.
The mother barely coughs out, "I'm alive, thank you so much I thought I was gonna leave my little girl and her father"
It was then that the girl's father appeared worried "Marlady and Celine" he hugs them tightly "I thought I had lost you I couldn't find you anywhere", He then takes both the girls and runs away to safety.
Javal's arms hurt so bad from pulling the heavy debris but he had to push forward he couldn't let anybody die not on his watch not again, never again. He ran back to the center of the chaos and continue helping people. It wasn't until he was called out as Mr. Zarrias by a somewhat familiar figure that he snapped out of his mental frenzy.
Javal tried shouting over the chaos, "Edgar, your Lady Kamille's friend right is she around here" It was only after Edgar's response that Javal noticed the giant black drake helping out. Javal also noticed the giant chasm that started to emerge in the middle of the town but quickly the drake solved that problem. He then finally noticed the master mage Lady Kamille and shouted, "Hey Kamille how's it going, my friend? What should we do here is there any way to make this stop or help the villagers out faster".

Leni-Aura pulls back a young woman by the collar as she stumbles at the edge of the gaping wound; Nimbus circles the area, electricity sparking off of him in warning.
As she helps the woman to her feet, someone calls out; she glances back, spotting a woman wearing a bird’s skull approaching. In the chaos of the situation, it does not initially strike her as strange. “I am fine!” She calls out, before looking frantically back at the woman. “Where is the northern exit?”
The woman tucks her cloak closer to her shoulders, eyes wide and fearful, and points; Leni-Aura follows her gaze to the direction and notes it. “That exit is clear; go and stay clear of the buildings.” She ushers the woman, and she scurries off— her steps quick and hurried as she joins with the other crowds of fleeing individuals. “Mati, go with her! Make sure she gets there!”
Nimbus squawks and zooms after her, easily making lost ground with his speed. Leni-Aura watches her go to ensure she sees no more mishaps while in her vision before turning and bounding towards the strange woman. Her paws do not touch the earth, instead pushing against the air itself as it swirls beneath her; she points people towards the northern exit as they scurry past frantically. (1. Primordial Path: Windtalker)
“You are uninjured?” She asks the stranger when she approaches; from behind, a cloudy drake lands on her shoulder; looking up at the witch with wide, electric eyes. She doesn’t have much time to talk, however, when someone else calls out towards them; Leni-Aura perks up, turning to look towards a lavender fellblood.
Kamille?
She blinks, vision sharpening as she looks the witch up and down; why does that name sound so vaguely familiar? She can’t put a face to the name, however... but she feels an odd sense of deja vu. She shakes it off before she continues, speaking loud enough for the fellblood to, hopefully, hear. “If you are uninjured and willing, every building bordering on this rift is going to collapse if this earth shake continues like this— they need to be cleared out immediately.”

The Witch was relieved to see the mysterious bunny woman seemed more than capable of handling herself, adding up to the team of people helping evacuate the village - not that it was evident, as her mask kept her expression hidden.
Her voice did have a surprised tone, however, as she recognized a voice she'd never think would hear there.
"Javal?!"
Another wave of tremors almost had her lose her footing, and as she saw a couple getting isolated on the other side of the rift, she extended her hands towards it as the earth shifted and turned [1]. As if the earth was malleable as clay, a small bridge was quickly formed once the earth shot out from one side to the other of the rift. Hesitant at first, the couple hurried when even the makeshift bridge started to crack under the powerful tremors coming from deep beneath. They barely came out of the other side safely, and the bridge cracked in half and crumbled down the abyss.
"The druids are coming to help! We need to evacuate as fast as possible! Looks like there's still people inside that building! Come!"
Kamille pointed to the building right before them - it was hard to know for sure, as her inner compass were the vibrations beneath her feet, and absolutely everything was shaking. It was like trying to see behind a veil, or hear with your hands covering your ears.
Yet her attention was violently taken away from her next target, as a three story building ahead of the street finally started to succumb under the earthquake. Behind the veil of dust and smoke, they could still see two children trying to escape it-
-before a huge shadow fell on them, and the black drake landed between the little ones and the falling building. Leathery wings closed around them, lowering his long scaly neck to protect them from the debri. The drake took all the weight of the building as it collapsed, and the last they could clearly see was when he tried to shield them with his own massive body.
And then a cloud of dust obscured their vision and the drake was buried beneath the crumbling building.
"KALAF!"

As Javal turns to look at his environment he spots a familiar figure he had not seen since they’d last had an adventurer many months ago he’s barely able to shout their name, “Leni Aura-Thunderpaw”. Before hearing the centaur’s command, “Understood we have to get everyone out of here as fast as we can”.
He then shifts his focus to another familiar voice, “Kamille? Is that you”, the fellblood immediately recognizes the beloved witch of Moonglade.
He then holds his arms and legs apart trying to hold on as the ground under him shakes and rumbles once more threatening to knock him over. He was about to sprint toward the couple in danger but stopped in his tracks as he saw them escape from an earth bridge that formed.
“It’s extremely good to have you hear at least Kamille otherwise I’m not sure how we’d fare against this disaster”.
The fellblood felt relieved as Kamille exclaimed that the druids were coming; they had to just hold on and do the best they could until then. He jolted forth sprinting as fast as his feet could take him as he followed where Kamille pointed to a small general store building a couple of feet in front of them.
He quickly slammed his body through the already broken doors and looked in front of him an elderly man and his loyal dog were cowering under the shop’s counter, “Help, help, if anyone’s there please at least save my Issac he’s too good of a boy to die”.
The fellblood rushes and jumps over the counter kneeling to see the two smiling as wide as he can trying to reassure them that everything is going to be okay, “Don’t worry citizens of Moonveil I’m here now and you don’t have to be concerned yourself with anything else. I will save you and take you from this place”, he then grabbed the elderly man under his left arm and took the dog under his right (1) springing as fast as he could out from the crumbling building.
As he neared the entrance the doorway suddenly fell on him sending a large piece of wall crashing to his back.
The elderly man and the dog looked terrified but Javal just smiled through the pain giving a look to them that said I’m alright and sprinted away towards the edge of town near the start of the treeline. He dropped them to the ground and said, “Go, run away as fast as you can, everything will be alright here”.
The dog and the man didn’t need a second more as they hugged each other and ran off to any nearby safety ahead of them.

Leni-Aura furrows her brows when the stranger before her speaks; she looks over her shoulder, ears lifting when she hears her name coming from a purple fellblood. She searches his face and his posture, trying to determine from where she’s met this man before, but nothing immediate comes to mind— and now is hardly the time to talk. She grits her teeth, looking towards the aforementioned ‘Kamille’ with narrowed eyes; the Witch of the Moonglade? But the earth is groaning beneath them; plates cracking, splitting with each passing tremor; and there’s hardly time to address either the man, or the witch. Kamille assures them that the druids are on their way, but any comfort that might bring is short-lived. Leni-Aura is about to join the fellblood in evacuating a nearby building, when she is distracted by the sound of a building across the street. Her heart skips in her chest when she sees a couple of children trying to flee; and she quickly jumps into motion. Leni-Aura flashes across the street (1. Sky Domain — Bullet Dash), but before she can make it to them, a dark shadow swoops down. The rabbitaur skids to a halt, covering her face and eyes from the dust and debris that swirls during, and after, the collapse. The cloud of dust is all-consuming, blocking her vision and making it difficult to breathe in the aftermath. After a heartbeat of ominous stillness around the fallen building, the wind kicks up; it swirls and howls, picking up the dust and lightest debris in the wake of the destruction. (2. Elementalist — Howling Gale) The dust cloud begins to disperse with the rabbitaur standing in the eye of the storm, narrowed eyes glinting cyan in the light, until the viewpoint of the collapsed building has cleared. Debris falls around her, caught up in the storm, when the winds begin to slow; she blinks, returning her warbling vision to focus on the building before her. She is quick to rush to what's left of it, using her strength and what magic she can wield in order to push, lift, or displace fallen stone to assist in quickly freeing the drake and kids. (3. Bull's Strength, 4. Sky Domain — Gust Thrust)

Kamille pushed through, but the rabbitaur was much faster. In the blink of an eye, she was up to the mountain of debri that covered the black drake, trying to uncover him. As she calmed her nerves, she actually managed to realise through their connection that Kalaf wasn't seriously wounded. The drake's scales were sturdy, and while she knew he'd need some healing afterwards, the thought brought some peace to her heart.
The dust and lighter debri were quickly washed away by a wave of stormy winds. She felt terribly grateful for the presence of the rabbitaur, who was clearly responsible for that, while Javal went to help the people inside another building, like she had indicated.
As she approached the drake, she extended her hands and touched the bigger pieces of stone and rock, that imediatelly seemed to espontaneously crumble in smaller pieces [1], sliding down from the pile that was getting smaller by the minute.
"Hold on! Get back!"
Taking a couple of steps closer, she realized the weight of the debris had become light enough for the drake to push back against it, finally emerging from beneath the debri and opening his wings. The span of his wings was huge - definitely a fully grown, old drake, with old scarrings and marks, ripped leathery wings and wrathful gaze. And despite his feral appearance, he stood over the two kids protectively, shielding them with his own body. The kids were clearly scared, but apparently not hurt.
The drake flapped his wings a couple of times, further pulling away at the debri. Kamille turned to the rabbitaur for a moment.
"Come with us. We need to get out of here now! JAVAL! JAVAL COME WE NEED TO GO!"
Without waiting much, she rushed towards the drake, first checking on the kids and starting to help them on the back of the dragon. Another rumbling almost made her loose her footing, but instead she skillfully hoisted herself on the back of the dragon, after having the children safely up his back.

Javal took a second to catch his breath and assess his injury, his back was in searing pain after getting large debris dropped on it. He'd definitely needed to head to a cleric after this so they could patch him up. However that was of little importance to the urgent rescue mission right now. He quickly slaps himself focusing back and sprinting looking around for any signs of people in distress or calling for help. He was about to head to a small house when he heard Kamille shout and he stopped to look at what was up. He saw Kalaf protect the children and was about to continue helping when he heard Kamille ask him whatever it was she needed him and they needed to leave it seemed.
He quickly wildly glanced around looking for any sign of people in need. It seemed that they had accomplished their goal at least as at Javals glance. He made absolute sure that he didn't see anyone in need before yelling out, “Leni folloe me looks like Kamille needs us“.
He quickly sprinted towards Kalaf as fast as he could before jumping on the drake’s back.
Javal quickly exclaimed in concern, “What's wrong Kamille? Did we finish saving everyone? What’s happening”.
