Belcor, Nathan and Zeras all get off the ship at Maazeric Island, Belcor hands now free is fairly boiling over with excitment like a child standing outside a sweet shop, He says "Come on, Come on, I will take to my Professor he will be able to translate the tablet I promise"
Nathan looks at him and smiles "Calm down we will get there, I have the tablet nice and safe and when we do your professor will be able to review at his leisure" Nathan pauses thoughtfully and asks "Will there be accommodation for us to stay at this college"
"Yes, Yes, once the professor has seen the tablet we will all be hailed heroes and you will be able to stay, we may even get some ladies interest" he nudges Zeras "if you know what I mean"
After 20 minutes of pushing past students with Belcor pointing in the right direction they get to the Professors study. He is the archetypal wizened old man, balding pate with wisps of white hair sprouting from in and around his ears.
He turns around and says "what is the meaning of this interruption?" in a reedy old voice, at which point Belcor runs forward hugs the old man and almost in tears. "I Thought I'd never see you again" he splutters and the old man beams and says "Now, now Alfred what is this all about and who are these people?"
Alfred (Belcor) explains all that has happened and gets out his notes and beacon to Nathan who produces the tablet. The Professor gasps and runs up to and book shelf and runs up a ladder, "I need help with this book" and he points at a absurdly oversized tome. Nathan flaps up and grabs the book and floats down and puts it down on a nearby table and the old man and Alfred (Belcor) begin to translate.
"Buried deep beneath the sands of time lies the birthplace of a god – on a northern mesa sits a temple – carved out of stone and placed where giants move the earth – for those who seek the heart of the sun – a stone beckons – but only the brave of spirit can truly withstand the might of divinity"
The professor turns and says "You have a trip to the Giants Avenue on the Arid Mesa in your near future."

Watching the old man to grasp any details which could lead to false aspects on their journey. Though the old man had the expression of one depicting the truth. There may be some clues on the faces of people, which can lead people to infer some feeling of what the other is thinking. While the Tiefling may not be the most proficient in reading body language or expressions, he is at the very least knowledgeable of the topic. Something he’s picked up through wandering the world. Either the professor is a marvelous liar or he is being quite generous in his sayings. Though I’m inclined to believe it is the latter. These two are truly only interested in the sol stone as a relic and not as a piece for them to gain power. Scholars similar to the ones before Zeras definitely only pursue knowledge, which will end up only helping the quest for the sol stone.
Alfred and the professor seemingly has a better than average relationship if one were to guess. From how the duo had greeted each other as well as the warmth they exude toward one another. Taking in this weirdly beautiful reunion, there appears to be a direction for Nathaniel and Zeras to follow. Facing Nathaniel, “Now that we’ve our next destination. I do believe this is where it begins to become more dangerous.” Stepping towards the door in the usual fashion, one step at a time with a pace slightly faster than the average person. Reaching close to the door, the tiefling halts his movement and turning his head slightly to the right. “Well thanks for the translation old man. And Alfred, don’t let me catch you doing those villainous deeds again. See you around.” Slamming the door, leaving only a loud slamming noise. Once more, a new journey begins. This trip is going to take more than a few moments.

Morrigan Moonweaver came to the Arid Mesa in search of one thing: mysticism and adventure.
It was part of their brand to curate the ancient and arcane, and even though they had no true magical talent to speak of, they made it a point to seek out the rare and arcane wherever they could. Their current wanderings had brought them all the way to the Arid Mesa, the remote island off to the west of Frostgale. Perhaps any rational person would have wondered what excitement a largely empty island could hold, but to Morrigan, the unexplored held opportunity. If there was any place that would hold a mystical artifact that had yet to be discovered, it would be there.
And so, that was how the charlatan found themselves at the coast after a long boat ride, navigating the docks as they looked for anyone that might be of interest who would be willing to set out with them. Every once in a while, they called out over the clambering of ships bringing crates down and pirates making deals in huddled groups, “Are there any brave heroes in need of a powerful wizard and alchemist to help them explore the Arid Mesa?”
They’d yet to have any takers thus far, and had mostly received dirty looks in response, but Morrigan had yet to lose heart. They had a feeling that they would find people who were interested in exploring the vast empty space of the island, and had a good feeling they’d find what they were looking for- fame, glory, and most importantly, magical artifacts that they could covet for themselves.
All they needed was the right adventuring party to come along.

Stepping off yet another ship in as many weeks Nathan felt a bit over travelled. He gets off the ship and heads onto the dock. At which point he hears Morrigan's shout and responds in kind with a friendly smile "Yes there people are looking for powerful wizard and alchemist to help us defeat an perils that this place. May I ask for the name of such brave soul who would risk his life with me, my name is Nathaniel Shishalee and this is Zeras" He gestures towards his friend.
The dark elf (Nathaniel) is dressed in rugged dark hooded travelling clothes and a dull chainmail Haubergeon and there are 2 hand axes in a metal loops attached to his belt and a knife in his boot. While all have seen better days they are well maintained, this is obviously not a rich dark elf. The dark elf has an oddly almost translucent looking skin like thick purple glass and seems to have been blessed with a pair of jet-black bird wings. He walks with a warrior's grace but gives of little more, utilizing economic movements as if prepared for a fight.
As he approaches Morrigan through the crowd he offers his hand for a handshake.

The rocking back and forth of motion of the past, who knows how many days had brought a certain amount of agony to the red Tiefling. The salty smell, completely different to the distinct scent of land. Brought upon disorientation during his rest, when he woke there was a slight confusion in an attempt to discern where he was. It was an interesting experience to say the least, but then it had brought a myriad of troubles. Hadn’t the opportunity to take in the full grace of a body of water before. A beautiful vastness, though filled with danger. Reaching the dock, striding from the boat with Nathaniel beside. The scarlet skinned tiefling dressed quite plainly, not much sense of fashion could be seen among his attire. Not a single weapon in sight on this young man. Though that is not too say he is negligent in self defense, rather he is confident in his prowess.
Brushing past the crowd of people, slipping past others in attempts to move past the openings between people. Whether those be other passengers offloading or those heading towards a different destination. Hearing a shout echoing across the port, grasps the interest of the tiefling. Turning his head in the direction of the noise, taking in the view of a seemingly interesting type of person. Viewing the garbs of the other then looking downwards at his own, a second later he shakes his head.
Suddenly, Nathaniel starts walking to the stranger in what could be fashionable garb. Though Zeras has no fashion sense in that head of his. A tiny bit surprised by Nathaniel moving towards the one who is shouting, yet slowly becoming accustomed to Nathaniel’s ways. Catching up, he finds Nathaniel already speaking to the person. I’m not surprised anymore, but he should be a tiny bit more careful in spreading our names. Who knows how many know we are in search of the sol stone? Shaking his head silently while attempting to be discreet. Standing next to Nathaniel with his left for forward while his right stayed slightly behind, left and right arms slightly tensing up in the situation a fight occurs. Scanning the new tiefling for any dangerous feelings. A slight smirk appearing as a method to display his peacefulness at the moment.
“Well. You’ve heard it from my partner, but I do prefer to introduce myself. The name is Zeras, how do you do?” A slight bow accompanying his words.

Much to their surprise, it didn’t take long for the right fish to bite- adventure arrived in the form of a dark elf and a tiefling, both of more modest fashion but obviously adventurers if the veritable armory that adorned the dark elf and the muscular frame of the tiefling were anything to go by. Where most thugs and pirates had given Morrigan a wide berth, the dark elf bounded right up to them with a confident smile and a firm handshake that nearly bowled Morrigan over with the strength of his grip as they accepted it. Though they were considerably more worried about the second thing the hero who introduced himself as Nathaniel said.
Mortal perils? Risk my life?
Just what in the hell did these two expect to run into out in this abandoned, dirty place?
Perhaps that should have been the charlatan’s sign to give up his particular con, but they had an inkling in the back of their mind that Nathaniel and Zeras had ventured here with a specific purpose in mind… something big. Even though Morrigan had no intention of laying down their life for such a cause, they wanted a part of it. And, well, as the age-old expression went, in for a penny, in for a pound. Morrigan flashed Nathaniel an award-winning smile before dropping into a showman’s bow.
“Indeed! You may call me Morrigan Moonweaver- enchanter, diviner, storyteller, godslayer, creator of miracles and maker of elixirs most wonderful.” They said with a flourish of sparkles that appeared from seemingly nowhere. Addressing Zeras’s inquiry, Morrigan replied, “Dreadfully bored, until you two showed up! You see, I had a dream that told me to search for stalwart adventurers in the great and vast wastes… that they would need my help with a grand undertaking. And who am I to ignore the whims of fate? And so, I traveled here in search of the figures from my dream, but it had been so long that I was beginning to lose hope… until I found the two of you.”
Of course, that was all a pack of lies, but Morrigan was practiced at weaving stories, and they said it all with such an effortless charming tone that they would have a hard time saying no. Not to mention the party of two likely needed all the help they could get on this adventure, yes?
They pulled out their fan, an intricate piece of fine crafting constructed of lavender, black, and silver fabric. Though Morrigan technically lacked any magic, a fact that they carefully tried to conceal, their skill in alchemy was real. Their healing potions and poisons were good enough to get them into the Golden Consortium- whatever trouble they’d run into, they could hold their own.
“So, how about it, my fine gentlemen? Allow me to assist you in finding whatever treasure you seek in these lands. In exchange for only a minuscule fee, all of my potions and spells are yours.”

Nathan begins to walk to where the 10,000 steps begins. From what he was told and read these steps lead to the Mesa itself. Fortunately it is not cold at the moment so when they get to the top they should fine as long as they keep moving.
As they move to through the crowds towards the steps Nathan explains "I am afraid your fee will have to be an equal share of the loot we discover on our adventure as I do not carry cash with me." After a brief pause he continues "Our quest leads us high onto the Mesa to a temple made of stone up on the Giant's Avenue".
Catching the look at Morrigan's face Nathan continues "Now I can see from the frown on your face that the giants named in the title of the location may not be enough to keep you from getting bored, but have no fear there will be plenty other monsters of a more challenging nature within the temple itself, more than enough to keep a man of your prodigious and potent talents occupied to your heart's content"
Winking at Zeras Nathan begins to climb the 10,000 steps to the Mesa proper

Staring at the new prospective new party member, feeling quite conflicted in regards to the confusing ideas of which emotion should be held. Happiness, wariness, or some other type of emotion? It will definitely become a dangerous venture, for which the pair could use an extra pair of hands. Though, the thought of sharing the originally split loot even further slightly hurts the young man’s heart. Is there many out there who would be willing to part with their treasure easily? I’d hardly believe someone who said yes. It would be a great thing for them to join as there’d be an extra person to assist in dangerous events.
Listening to the first few sentences of the new tiefling, causes waves of unease to arise in his heart. Quite a theatric person we’ve met. The few sentences they said in the beginning sound like a bundle of showman lies. A whole heap of lies and the person in question didn’t even flinch at how eloquently they said that. Slowly becoming more wary of the intentions of the other. Were they there just for a regular adventure or were they looking for a bit more?
There are many different aspects of this person which makes it hard for the red tiefling to warm up to. An extra person on this life threatening ride may end up making this venture easier, but this person may send us to our graves earlier than planned. I for one am not going to believe or underestimate this new member of ours, but something is off about them.
Casting a glance over at Morrigan, then over to Nathaniel which returns back to the tiefling. “Let’s see if you have enough capabilities to earn your keep. Though I’ll be looking forward to working with ya”. A small smile appears on his lips, before he starts to turn toward their new destination.
Walking towards their destination brought the trio plenty of time to discuss with one another. Not many were on the same path as they, or rather it was quite a desolate sight on the journey. Realizing Morrigan basically only told their name and not much else about them, the red tiefling feels there to be enough time on their trip to gain a better understanding of such a person.
Turning his face towards Morrigan, letting the sun hit the back of his head. “If you don’t mind me asking, but from whereabouts do you hail? And why exactly were you yelling back there in the port?” A friendly smile makes its appearance, while deep in the recesses of his eyes show a hint of doubt.

“A temple of stone?” Morrigan’s eyes glinted in interest. More often than not, temples held godly artifacts, magical items of intrigue that Morrigan would be more than happy to get their hands on. “And think nothing of it. If this venture is as lucrative and perilous as you all claim, then there will be more than enough profit for all of us.” Their smile tightened momentarily at the mention of horrible monsters and danger, but eventually straightened out to something more pleasant. Despite their distaste for combat, and general inability to hold their own in a fight, Morrigan had actually clashed against a number of ferocious beasts in the past- harpies, a displacer beast, belligerent teenage thieves, and even, briefly, a dead god. They could handle themselves. Probably.
“Well, of course! Monsters and mayhem are child’s play to a wizard of my caliber. I am more than delighted to assist you in your quest.”
That seemed to be enough for Nathaniel, but Zeras seemed a little more skeptical of Morrigan’s words- and rightfully so- as he even bid Morrigan luck in this upcoming venture before heading off after Nathaniel. “And I look forward to working with you as well.” Morrigan said with a small half-bow before picking themselves to dash after the much taller adventurers. Despite their height, Morrigan seemed to have a spring in their step and moved with surprising speed, even despite the rocky terrain they found themselves traveling.
Eventually, Zeras turned to Morrigan, seemingly not content knowing so little about the newest addition to this group. Morrigan accepted his questioning with another bout of glitter produced magically from nowhere. “I hail from the scorching sands of Zeinav to the east, where they know me as the Wizard of the Wastes. Though, as I’m sure you could imagine, my gifts take me wherever there is a need for my talents. And I was shouting because my visions are not infallible- while I knew I was needed here, I was not aware of who needed me. And so, I’ve been scouring the island in search of those that required my help.”
They clapped their heads together, rings clicking together. Both adventurers would probably notice that Morrigan was adorned in an utterly horrid amount of jewelry, perhaps even too much considering they were likely to see combat on their trip to the temple. “But enough about myself. I am much more curious about the two of you. We have time on our way to this temple- please, tell me more about yourselves!”

Nathan explains "Well I am afraid there is very little to tell for me, I was raised by my Aasimar father on the Crescent Isle just outside the capital (that explains his wings and almost translucent skin). My dark elf mother died at childbirth (that explains the colour of his skin and general elf like appearance). Up until recently I was training with my father but he had to leave on a quest of his own. At which point I decided to head out to adventure myself". Nathan smiles wryly "And it has been fun and games ever since"
Nathan continues "Other than that, I have met Zeras here (he points to the monk), on my first adventure which took us into the Kingswoods. I had heard of a reclusive academic who had been studying the Sol Stone had been working in a cave within the wood. This where we had to deal with some cultists wearing these strange robes with a symbol what looked like the Sols stone on it. It became very bloody but we only killed where we had to." He pause and smiles "Eventually we came across two characters they hired; a warrior called Whitman and an academic/wizard called Belcor. We defeated the warrior and set him free (without weapons) after he had explained about what they had found, we then woke up Belcor whom the Zeras here has expertly incapacitated. He explained about this tablet (Nathan shows the little stone tablet) and confirmed it was only partially translated but it could be completed his college on Maazeric Island.
We went to Maazeric Island and Belcor (who turned out to be called Alfred) and his professor translated the the text on the tablet to:
"Buried deep beneath the sands of time lies the birthplace of a god – on a northern mesa sits a temple – carved out of stone and placed where giants move the earth – for those who seek the heart of the sun – a stone beckons – but only the brave of spirit can truly withstand the might of divinity"
"And that brings us upto date" despite the quite detailed explanation Nathan does not stop walking or get out of breath even with the pace he is putting on, he is obviously very fit.

Walking along the downtrodden path, if it could even be called one. Knowing where to go is an easy feat, but who knows if it’ll be as easy as the travelers suppose it to be. Though a bit grateful at the response received from both travel companions, there is a sense of unease in his heart. From how the new tiefling has been expressing themselves, Zeras can grasp an idea of showmanship from their peculiar style of discourse as well as the way they present themselves. Calling themself a wizard, yet behaving incredibly different from the wizards I’ve met in the past. They seem excellent in weaving stories and whatnot, so there may have been an expectation of a bard or some sort quite similar joining in our travel. I shouldn’t hold the idea of them having a hand in the fight as a worst case scenario, but then there will have to be a discussion at the least.
There are quite a few coincidences when it comes to Morrigan. A surprising air of mystery wraps around them, it is only right for a stranger to be cautious and wary, but there seems to be an extra weird feeling joined in. There’s not much to be done in regards to that. Though, I do not know what truly led them to join us even after knowing there to be perils ahead. Either they are someone with faith in their combat capabilities or they are a complete fool. I do hope, they are of the first category. If not, there may be added danger ahead. Something the tiefling always keeps in mind.
“From Zeinav, are you? I’ve heard of the region quite intermittently, though my journey has yet to bring me there. I set out for my first journey away from the Ash Lands not too long ago. Met new friends, fought few foes, and wrestled different challenges. Nothing grand, though each step was filled with amazing experiences.”
Slowly positioning his pupils towards the sky. Light winds caressing his hair, pushing it back ever so slightly. In conjunction to the bright light of the day, made the image of Zeras to be almost a picture. Though only he knew which memories he were reminiscing through. Different partners he’s met, the dangers they’ve gone through and the things they’ve gained.
“Well I’m sure I can call Nathaniel a friend at this point, but we are yet to be that close”. There is no rush for him to understand such a new person, there will be plenty of time for that in the future. Though in the meantime, the purple tiefling is one to watch for.
“Only until we survive different fights together, will I be almost able to trust you. Got nothing against ya, but you know? Gotta be careful in this world.” Ending with a shrug. Seems as if he meant that, but who knows what could happen?

Nathaniel explained his own origins, which Morrigan found quite interesting, if not melancholic. Someone blessed with holy blood… that certainly explained the wings. Zeras offered little about his background, though he did offer that he had originated from the Ash Lands. “Both lovely places.” Morrigan commented. “I’ve had the lovely opportunity to venture to both the Crescent Isles and the Ash Lands recently and I found them both to be pleasant.” They said as they fanned themselves idly.
Their eyes widened in interest as Nathanial described the recent adventure that he and Zeras had embarked on that led them to this present moment. “My, that’s quite the tale. A stone in a temple in Giant’s Avenue? Only the brave of spirit can truly withstand the might of divinity?” They parroted, excitement glimmering in their eyes. Internally, they couldn’t help but be excited at the prospect of discovering actually powerful magic. They had a good feeling that these fine men would lead them to fortune, and it looked like that was proving to be a fruitful endeavor indeed.
In their impractical shoes Morrigan did… struggle somewhat to keep up with the athletes, but they managed to follow a couple paces behind. The arid sun beat down on the three of them as Morrigan followed the two, who clearly seemed to know where they were going. Eventually, Zeras turned, regarding Morrigan with the same skepticism that he had earlier. There was no suspicion in his voice- only the promise of a fighter who wouldn’t let someone drag them down.
“No offense taken, friend.” Zeras would get the impression that Morrigan referred to most people in the same amicable manner. “A bit of skepticism is healthy. I assure you two that I have seen my fair share of combat, and have slain all manner of foul beasts, including harpies and displacer beasts. I’ve even forced a god to kneel in my presence before.” Those, technically, were all truths, even if they were embellished somewhat.
Their brows furrowed, deep in thought. “But what kind of danger do you two expect to see in a long-abandoned temple? More of these cultists?” Cultists, Morrigan could probably handle. They were adept at poisons, and had enough in their arsenal to deal with a couple of religious fanatics.

Nathan looks at Morrigan and says "I have to be honest I have no idea as to what we might find, cultists? Probably it is likely that they have come here by other means than by walking which is why I feel far more confident in the success of our mission with you here"
Nathan pauses for a moment thinking and then continues "There are likely to be other spellcasters involved, most probably quite powerful so we must be prepared to deal with them. Also there will other more experienced warriors certainly better than the dross we cut through that were defending their camps."
The steps continue for what seems like (and probably is) miles until the top of the mesa is reached. There is a chill to the air at this altitude but the exertion of getting here even leaves even Nathan with a but of a sweat. They pause at the top and can see the mesa is barren rock and but the Avenue is clearly visible flanked by high cliff faces.
Nathan scans the area, seeing nothing he heads at a steady pace towards the mouth of the avenue. Standing a the entrance they are truly dwarfed by it, huge cliffs of granite running either side. Nathan turns "Well this looks like where we start" and he steadily walks down the centre of the avenue alert for danger.
