Shaa could not believe his luck. It was by pure chance that a commission had come into the guild just as he was finishing up some nasty business with a bunch of rogue nomads. He almost didn’t look at the posting board , feeling the pull of the kitchen calling him. But there was a feeling that was nagging the deepest part of his brain to check, and so he did. To his shock and delight, there was a commission to come be an escort for Kamille. Even though they had never met personally, in Terramancy circles she was famous for an exalted level spell that could shoot golems from the sky. How cool was that! Ever since he had heard about it, he had wanted to meet her in person. In truth, it was embarrassing for a Minotaur to get giddy about anything but meeting a woman who could cause more catastrophic destruction than him, was something amazing.
The commission itself was almost something of an afterthought but still something that Shaa had to examine closely. There is a place near the lantern light woods known as the werewolf forest. The commission was to escort Kamille through the forest to some sort of abandoned mansion. Why anyone in their right mind would build a mansion in the middle of fang central was beyond Shaa but any place out there had to be old, like really old. He wondered why a person like Kamille would want to mess with a place like that. Guess he was going to find out.
After about a week of travel, Shaa found himself approaching a camp on the outskirts of the forest. Per the instructions, this is where he was supposed to meet her and go over the details. He wondered what she was like in person. Did she like Minotaurs? Was Shaa smelly from all the walking? He sniffed his armpits just in case. Dang it, I just smell like me. Oh well. Striding into the camp, he starts asking around for her. You could tell that camp had been there for awhile. The well worn paths between tents and the refuse that littered the ground were dead give aways. As he moved in between the shoddy tents, he asked around with little help. Eventually, a young dwarf points him in her direction. Shaa thanks the chipper young man and starts to walk towards a small group of people speaking in hushed tones.

Kamille was terribly frustrated. Few times in life she felt she was missing something for not being able to be discrete, and this was one of those times. The researchers wouldn’t allow her to go alone into the forest, and though she often preferred to be chaperoned, she also preferred to get things done, even if it meant going on her own. But they wouldn’t allow her, as they have lost a few of their own researchers who ventured into the forest - and since she couldn’t sneak anywhere even if her life depended on it, she was out of luck.
The Black Quills were carrying out other tasks, far away. And to her surprise, to her delight, it was the Fighter's Guild that answered. Kamille had dreamed of seeing both the Fighter's Guild and the Mage's Guild working together, and maybe this was the perfect opportunity. The Witch had always been reluctant in accepting Fate's whimsical wishes and turns, but apparently it was all falling into place...
She had been arguing somewhat heatedly with some young researcher prior to Shaa's arrival, gesturing widely. The researcher saw the minotaur first and his eyes widened in surprise, making Kamille turn to spot what he had just saw. Her brow furrowed, but only until another, surprised expression took her face too. But more than just surprise, there was the light of recognition in her eyes as well.
"Oh... Oh my... Are you............ Are you Shaa?!"
While all the other researchers kept their respectful - fearful - distance from the menacing looking minotaur, Kamille promptly stepped up with a smile so wide it was contagious. The Witch was one of those people who smiled with her eyes - and what eyes! Ever since she Exalted in the Space domain as well, Ziev chose to place the stars on her dark, blue eyes, a swirling nebula always twinkling in her irises. She was tiny compared to the minotaur, but her pool of mana was intense for those who could feel it. Undoubtly a half elf, her beauty was more earthly than ethereal, her black attire with black feathers and claws stitched to the ends of her gloves giving her an ominous look that felt incredibly dissonant to the huge, sparkling smile she flashed at the minotaur.
And the woman who feared spiders and ghosts approached the minotaur without a hint of hesitation, extending her hand for a handshake. She looked...... much more delicate than expected. The Witch had seen Shaa from afar a few times - and on top of that she saw Ulrich's drawings of him, so the recognition was fast. There was some internal struggle that kept her behaving properly, and not start to anxiously gush about all the stories she was told about Shaa. What a day!
"By Ginma! It IS you! I've been meaning to meet you, Mr. Shaa! I've heard so much about you! I'm Kamille! I'm friends with Ulrich.... And Zarius too! What are you doing here, Mr. Shaa? Can I help you with something?!"
Apparently, she didn’t know he was to be her escort.

As Shaa approached the group, several of them went aghast and stopped speaking. The exception was a striking woman in black who saw him and smiled brightly. Could this be her? Shaa suddenly got very self conscious and tried to wipe his hands of dirt and sweat as she reached out for a handshake. He took her hand as gently as he could as it was enveloped in his own grubby mitts. Her kind smile helped put him at ease a bit. He was shocked to learn that she was friends with several of his close friends.
Yes mam, I am Shaa Rhunn of…the people who walk all over the place. He says with a goofy smirk. You know Ulrich and Zarius? I will have to punch them when I see them for not introducing us sooner. Ulrich is a good travel buddy of mine and Zarius and I have been through a lot together. I am actually his mentor in the Fighters Guild. Speaking of which, the guild is why I am here today. I understand that you need some back up finding some mansion? Shaa turned his hoof in the dirt a bit, looking away. Not that you really need it. I have heard of you too. I would love to trade some Terramancy notes with you while we walk. If you want or whatever. Shaa prayed that no other Minotaur heard about him being so gushy. He would never hear the end of it. Shaa cleared his throat and refocused.
Aherm so anyway. We are going out to some abandoned mansion in the middle of werewolf central. I am assuming that you all have a good reason for doing this. Even the most seasoned adventurer gives this place a wide berth, and for good reason. Unless you are looking to become a snack or, even worse, a permanent member of the flea and paw patrol. My buddy Edward became a werewolf recently and it’s not the best.
The researchers look around at each other with grim faces. It’s obvious from their body language that they know something but are hesitant to say. One of the researchers, an older gentleman with a balding white head and pointed beard steps forward. Yes. Of course, you are correct sir. No one without good reason would ever come here. Oh, forgive me, my name is Nathanial, I am one of the senior researchers here. The truth is several of my fellows have come before us and…none have returned. Ms Kamille, who has been with us from the start, has opted to lead the next expedition herself, alone. Naturally we could not risk such a talent so the commission was sent.
Shaa considered the situation, rubbing his chin as he thought. Sure, needing the extra muscle makes sense. But you still haven’t answered my question. What in the world is so important in this mansion of yours that you would risk so many people to get to it? Shaa folds his massive arms, waiting for an answer.

So Shaa was to be her escort? That was perfect! Once again, her face lighted up with a bright smile, seemingly unaware of his own anxiety as she was so wrapped up in her own excitement. Kamille had heard stories of Shaa before, both from Ulrich and Zarius, but to meet such figure in person was totally different. She thought Zarius might have mentioned that Shaa was his mentor at the Fighter's Guild, but wasn't sure - either way, it was a good piece of information to hold onto.
"I would love to exchange some notes with you! If you wish, my house is not far from here, and after we put this whole ordeal behind us, if you wish to come and spend a few days, consider yourself invited."
It had been getting a bit harder to get Kamille's hospitality these last few days, since the attacks to her house have knocked some caution onto her and she started to experiment with some protective spells around her house. But Shaa was a friend of a friend and she felt she could trust him. Just as people had told her, he sounded very friendly - and his menacing looks didn’t seem to frighten her so far.
Kamille did squint her eyes at the mention his friend was a werewolf. The name was familiar too, but she couldn’t be sure.
"I have, in fact, a friend that is a well known werewolf around these forests. He was raised by a druid, and is a dear friend of mine, but he doesn’t have any ties to this forest. I'm not sure how different can it be for one person to the other, but.... It felt like he is at peace with his situation."
It's been a while since she last saw Úlfr, and she hoped he was okay, probably minding his own business somewhere. As Shaa went to ask about the mansion they wanted to find, Kamille seemed about to answer when the older researcher spoke up. Another researcher, much younger and more direct, decided to answer despite the sideways glances the elder gave him.
"Miss Kamille has found out some interesting movement back and forth in centuries prior. Everything indicates the house might've been the hideout of some mages trying to hide or smuggle away some magic artifacts..."
Kamille continued.
"There is a paper trail of several artifacts that abruptly ends here. I'm not sure if it belongs to the original owners of the house, or if the house was abandoned and used as some kind of hideout. But we have reasons to believe there might be more than one artifact in that house that may have gone missing in the past."
Her eyes had an almost feverish luster to it as she thought about what they might find there. Much like her own raven, Kamille was not immune to the lure of treasures, even if what she considered a treasure might be different from what other people did. It was the mystery that drove her, the promise of knowledge and the unknown.

Shaa couldn’t believe his ears. He had gotten an invite to Kamille’s house?!? Ok man, be cool. But Shaa was not cool. He had the suave of…a bull in a china shop. If the china was all full of fireworks and kerosene. He took a deep breath. Yeah, sure, sounds like plan. Ugh he was so dumb.
Listening to the full explanation of the reason for the trip, it started to all make sense. Mages going after magical artifacts. Shaa wasn’t quite sure how he felt about that one. It wasn’t that long ago that a group from the mages guild had invaded the martial academy. An invasion that wrecked half the hall and nearly gotten him eaten by a size changing spire viper. The idea that he might be helping to further arm these guys did not thrill him.
On the other hand, it was Kamille doing the searching. She was friends with at least two fighters guild members so that had to count for something right? No matter what Shaa did, these guys were going after whatever was in that mansion. He would much rather know what they pulled out of there in the end. Who knows, he might even find something useful himself. Good company, good intel, yeah, he needed to go and see this through to the end.
Magical Artifacts is it? Ok, the fighters guild officially accepts the commission…. With a caveat that if we find something in there that is too…dangerous, that it gets destroyed, not retrieved. Everyone cool with that? Everyone seemed to agree with the last minute proviso. At least no one outright objected to it..to his face. They were probably just happy they had a fighter of Shaa’s caliber along to deal with any issues. At least it wouldn’t be boring. Shaa didn’t really care about treasure or anything. He just wanted to watch out for his brothers. That attack was too close a call.
He turned to Kamille. I pack light. Ready to go when you are. Lead the way.

The soft flutter of wings announced the arrival of a raven, which seemed pretty normal as no one around the camp seemed to bat an eye at it when it landed on Kamille's shoulder.
"CAWWWW! House! Forest!"
"Yes, I know Mischief... There is a house in the forest..."
Kamille was a bit concerned about Shaa mentioning of destroying the artifacts. She had, in fact, already bought a fight she came to regret with someone on those same terms: Ray had wanted them to destroy the cursed flask they found, or so she thought, which caused her to steal and run away with the flask. In the end, they figured it out peacefully - but she didn't want to do the same with Shaa. She would have to tread carefully there. She was very squirmish about destroying magical artifacts, not only for the advantage that they might bring, but for the lost knowledge.
"I'm thinking this will be one of those things we'll have to get there to decide on... I hope you'll trust my judgement on whether an artifact is too dangerous or not."
The Witch didn't seem to need much either: she just turned to gather her pouch with potions that was on the table and threw her feathery cloak over her shoulders, the black, raven feathers blending with her black hair around her figure. With a renewed bright smile, she turned to the other reserchers.
"Are you happy now? With Shaa protecting me, we surely can make our way through this forest and come back safely..."
Not.... That any of those old farts would stand a chance against Shaa, even if they wanted to oppose him. With a final tap to her cloak, she turned back to the minotaur, gesturing to the raven that landed on her shoulder.
"By the way... This is Mischief. I guess he found the mansion we were looking for..."
....or not. Mischief was smart, but was also highly capable of petty stupidity. He cawed at Shaa, and then flew back into the forest, landing on a tree nearby, waiting for them to follow them.
"He can lead us to the place, just...... Don't trust his wits too much..."

Heloo Mischief Shaa says with a cocked eyebrow. He had run with several adventurers recently that used raven minions. He wasn’t quite sure who was going around selling minions but he was starting to feel left out. Being homeless himself, he had never felt good about the idea of pet ownership. He would end up being neglectful. He put himself in enough dangerous situations as it was. Ok lead the way buddy.
Before they left, Shaa pulled out his jolly bag of gifts. Maybe we can get a nice snack for the trip. Reaching in the mystical bag, he pulls out a Vd8dkAlx. Shaa never ceases to be amazed.
As they start along the road, he tries to strike up a conversation. So, I know you by reputation but I don’t know anything about your history. I imagine we kind of have a long walk ahead of us. How would you feel about trading stories? Tell you what, I’ll even go first. Shaa rubbed his horns a bit as if he was trying to refresh his memory.
My first real memories were way back when I was an orphan in Kings Valley. I have no real memory of my parents, at least I don’t think. If I was a normal orphan, I’m sure one of the many nomad tribes would have conscripted me into their ranks. It’s kind of how it goes out there. But due to my rugged good looks Shaa says with a grin or my noticeable Minotaurness, the tribes more used me more as target practice then for recruiting purposes. From an early age, I learned how to survive out in the wild. I really didn’t have much of a choice. Fight, run, survive, that was me. Not exactly the bastion of grace and civility you see before you now.
I was probably about 14 when Darius found me. He was a northern Centaur and they were looking for a Ginma shrine. They came upon me in their travels. Almost shot me until they realized I wasn’t some random cow. I showed them the way to the shrine and past the tribes. On the trip, I kind of became one of them. Darius raised me, taught me language and writing, the art of war. Tried to teach me archery but I sucked at it so bad he thought I should stick to punching things which has worked out so far. After touring all around Charon, for about 10 years, I became a professional wanderer and struck out on my own. Been wandering ever since. Of course, I stay connected through the fighters guild but my real home has always been the road. And that’s me in a nut shell.
ok , now you, where are you from?

Kamille looked equal parts confused and delighted at Shaa's display, her head slightly cocked. " I'm not sure how to respond to that... Except that I may want to take a closer look at this bag on our way back......." But more than anything else, she was delighted that Shaa would willingly share his story with her. It usually took her something in exchange to hear someone's story, but Shaa shared his without a second thought. It was refreshing, even... Even if his story didn't seem to have a happy beginning. A self made minotaur, apparently, clawing his way from the bad situation he had no choice to be in. Kamille loved those kind of stories. She didn't know Shaa was also from Kings Valley - there were more than a handful of people she knew from that place that were exceptionally good. She smiled to herself. Maybe she could take her time to visit Kings Valley someday... " From what I know from people from King's Valley, that seems to be the main theme... Your home is the road, right? Don't you ever think of digging your roots somewhere? Build a nest, or... I don't know... Just have somewhere to come back to?" But that was her perspective on the matter. Kamille herself traveled a lot, but had her own home back at Moonglade and a lot - a lot - of friends places she could crash at whenever. When the conversation turned back to her own background, she looked a bit sheepish. " Uhm... My story is not as exciting as yours... My father was part of the Council, so for a long time I lived at the Court... My Master was the now Councilmember Valatar, but after some nasty gossips and several other issues, I decided to leave. Carve my own path. Got myself a home back where I was born... Started to help people around the village... And apparently I'm doing somewhat of a good job, because people started to call me Witch of Moonglade." That was... clearly a very resumed story, and it might be understantable why she was so reticent about it if it involved the Court of the Sun King. At first, very few people knew where she came, because her own self at the Court was nothing more than a shadow following Valatar around - one of his apprentices, always in the background. Her self imposed exile in Moonglade was a subject she wasn't willing to speak openly about yet, though a few people knew about it. Shaa was one of those that inspired confidance and trust, so maybe by the end of this she would be willing to share the long version of that story.
"I have a lot of friends from King's Valley, you know....... Sometimes I go there for some reagents and herbs, but I would love to travel there with someone who knows the right places and people..."
A bit forward, but she was clearly kinda inviting herself to his land, should he agree. Knowing her reputation as alchemist, it was clear where her interests lie, but regardless, she also thought it would be a good way of getting to know him and his land if he agreed to show her around in the future.

Shaa listened carefully to the story. He was happy that she was willing to open up and share but he could tell there was probably more to the story. That was fine. Maybe he would get the full picture one day but it was enough for now. Kamille, like several of his friends, seemed to be the victim of a very real and very brutal game of politics that was playing out all across Charon. The fact that she was friends with Zarius who had some pretty serious connections with the Zenivian mob spoke volumes. He was friends with him too though so he tried not to make too many assumptions.
Thank you for sharing, I appreciate a good open conversation. I’m not exactly one with a lot to hide myself Shaa chuckles, motioning his hands over his mostly exposed body. I appreciate it when people can be open.
To your question, no, I have never really wanted a home. I don’t have “ stuff” so it would be empty. I am always traveling so no one would be home. My horns poke holes in most pillows so tend to sleep on the ground. Shaa shrugs his shoulders. Charon is my home…right now we are walking in my very dirty broom closet. Shaa bursts out laughing with a lilting snort. Wiping a tear from his eye, he continues.
That being said, there are some places, like Kings Valley, that I have spent more time than others. I would be more than happy to show you around but you will want to bring some good walking shoes. I can even take you to one of my very favorite places, the Sunshade Glade. If we are lucky, we might even run into some of the fae folk out there. My friend Barry, makes this killer ale that makes you blow bubbles and sound like a chipmunk when you talk. It’s so funny…
Shaa continues to ramble on as they walk telling goofy stories of some of his wandering adventures. Thinking back on them, he is surprised that he has lived through some of it. He rubs an old scar on his leg as his mind drifts off for a moment. It is here that he notices some of the shadows behaving strangely. Shaa holds up his hand. Well so much for our nice leisurely stroll. Looks like we have company.
As the shadows continue to move around, Shaa can see several sets of yellow eyes dart in and out of view. He walks up to a nearby tree and yanks it up by the roots. Tapping the tree in his hand to knock some of the dirt off, Shaa waits for the shadows to bring themselves into the light….

While Kamille didn’t share of Shaa's opinion, she could understand. She knew of some people who thought the same way as the minotaur - and she, as the one who had dug her roots at Moonglade, was glad to be the one to host them whenever. She loved receiving her friends, and unlike people like Shaa, she had a knack for collecting things and treasures, not unlike Mischief with his perch of shinnies. And yet, Shaa got a soft laughter out of her as he described why he considered all of Charon his home. The Witch immediately liked the unburdened way he faced life, with nothing to hide and even less to expect. Maybe she could learn a thing or two from him on that regard...
Upon the mention of the Sunshade Glade and the fae folk, her eyes shone brightly in antecipation.
"I would love to! It would be wonderful to meet them! Even at Moonglade, the fae folk elude me, but I can’t blame them: there is something killing the fairies here. And I'm yet to find out what is happening..."
Then, she chuckled at the mention of an ale that makes you sound like a chipmunk. Sounded like a challenge.
"It would be an honor to get drunk with you, Shaa.... Although few people had the chance of seeing me drunk. I think I can handle it..."
Kamille jested - certainly a minotaur would be able to get her drunk enough to have her wake up face down in the gutter. Their light conversation was interrupted by shadows that lurked beyond the treeline. She knew little of werewolves, despite her friend being one, but she wondered if they behaved somewhat similar to wolves. If so, she knew they were smart enough to have some sort of strategy when hunting in packs, attacking from opposite sides.
"We better remain back to back to-..."
Kamille barely kept herself from gasping at the sight of the minotaur casually walking up to a tree and.... plucking it?!?! Like it was no big deal?!?!?!? Was this guy for real?!
She would have to one up that.
"Ahm... Let's stirr the pot, then...."
Kamille took from her pouch what appeared to be a small chess piece, a rook. With a whispered enchantment, however, she threw the rook ahead on the ground, and what hit the ground was not just a chess piece: several times its original size, a six-foot tall stone gargoyle stomped with a thunderous noise, making the ground shake with each step.
"Go see what's beyond the trees, Miss Fortune..." she ordered, her hand already raising covered in fiery sparks as she got her spell ready.
The stone gargoyle remained with a blank face, but it was almost possible to feel it trotted with a hop of delight into the woods, as if it was a dog allowed to chase off birds. Kamille braced herself for when the werewolves were stirred by the barreling gargoyle, howling and growling increasing as the shadows took the shape of fur and fangs and jumped into the clearing, surrounding the half-elf and the minotaur.

As the gargoyle burst into the forest to chase out the creatures, Shaa used the tree to stretch a bit in anticipation of the coming conflict. He would never admit it out loud, but he did not like werewolves. Not as a race per se, but the disease of lycanthropy was not well understood in Charon. The fact that his friends had been infected and several reported cures turned out to be nothing more than fools errands, made Shaa uneasy. He had actually discussed this with his Minotaur friends and there was an unsubstantiated rumor that Minotaurs were naturally immune, being part beast already. In truth, Shaa had never heard of a Minotaur being turned ever which only gave credence to the rumor. Then again, if a Minotaur actually ever was turned, they wouldn’t advertise it either. Shaa decided that he would try to avoid direct contact if possible.
Shaa speaks to Kamille while still keeping eyes on the forest. Back to back is a good idea, these things could come out of anywhere. But don’t worry, I plan on earning my commission today. We’re going to be just fine. We will show these guys what a couple of top tier Terramancers can do. He had no sooner ended speaking when the first two werewolves appeared. They were both large and fully formed. The unkempt hair and feral looks indicated that they had probably been out in the woods for awhile…and they were hungry. The first one had brown fur that was patchy and ragged. It had a kind of dead eyes like it was looking through you rather than at you. It’s claws were long and sharp. The second one had jet black fur that was curly towards the ends. It was letting out a low growl from its twisted face as he and his companion started their approach.
Shaa stared at the pair unblinking. Here they come, two on this side. The two lycans approach was slow and methodical. They were looking for an opening and Shaa wasn’t about to give them one. One of the advantages of being an old fighter was that Shaa could see through tactics like this. Sure he was big and he could smash walls and stuff but Shaa’s real ability, the one that has kept him alive all these years, is his ability to surprise people. Hey Fido! Heads up!
With a quick flash, Shaa throws his spinning top in between the two werewolves. It lands on the ground and starts turning rapidly, spraying silver coins in all directions. The beast men are caught off guard from the spinning top and jump back from the relentless barrage of flying coins. As they do, Shaa is waiting for the brown one. The ruddy werewolf sees Shaa too late as he hauls back and smashes the werewolf full on in the face with the unearthed tree. The werewolf does a full spin from the blow and collapses to the ground. The black werewolf sees what happened to his companion and rolls just in time to avoid Shaa’s follow up blow which smashes into the ground where he just stood. Shaa retreats back to Kamille, keeping himself between her and the Lycian. He is disappointed as he was hoping to take both of the werewolves out. More noises can be heard coming from the forest.

"I'm eager to see with my own eyes what you're capable of, Shaa..." The minotaur could listen to the smile in her voice.
Beyond the treeline, they could hear the gargoyle running around and suposedly scattering some of the attackers, though all they could do was listen to the growls and snarls and feel the ground shake as Kamille's gargoyle helped itself to some wolves.
Kamille herself didn’t have much experience with werewolves except for Úlfr, who had showed her nothing but kindness and protectiveness. The two of them had put up a front against the bandits and cultists arriving at Moonglade strong enough for them to consider them a big enough threat to be targetted individually. Kamille's house had already suffered an attempt at a raid, which led her to the sad conclusion she may need to put the location under some protection spell. She had wanted to avoid it, since some of her most interesting patients and friendships were random walk ins.
Regardless of her inner thoughts on the werewolves, she assumed their connection to their feral part must be as strong as they often claimed. With Shaa swinging around a giant freaking TREE like it was a regular club, Kamille kept her back to the minotaur, feeling the swoosh of the wind as he striked, the ground shaking beneath her feet. What little she knew of wolves in general was that they were smart enough to have strategies: while some would put up a fight on one side, others would try to sneak from their back. Gladly, Kamille was prepared when it happened.
Two yellowed eyes glinted, crazed, between the trees before another one jumped from the darkness to strike Kamille, who had kept her back to Shaa. It would be fair to assume they would see Shaa as the main threat, since he was much larger and wielding an f***** tree as a club! But before she could even perceive the details, when a patch of dark fur jumped forward, she stomped her foot. The ground rumbled and a few meters away, a jagged shard of stone and earth shot out from the ground beneath the werewolf. Despite not completely impaling the wolf, it did leave an enormous gash to it ribs. It was pure skin and bones and fur, and nothing to protect itself from the jagged spike of stone. It rolled to the side, whinning, as another one jumped forward over him. His luck was even worse.
In a sudden wave of heat and magic spiralling outwards, Kamille's whole figure was set up aflame, showering the dark clearing in bright light. The flames didn’t just lick at her figure, she became the flames as her body became fully enveloped in fire and irradiated an intense heat [1]. The surge of magic that suddenly poured out her delicate frame quickly became oppressive and sweltering, not unlike the break of a dam.
Kamille took a deep breath.
And when she breathed out, the fabric of reality shimmered and spun out of its path to give way to her will: a cone of furious flames came out of her lips, shoting out directly into the pair of werewolves before her [2]. The flames stuck to fur and skin with a will of their own, despite their attempts at rolling and putting them down [3]. In a minute, the clearing became filled with whines and howls that, as the legend about the forest told, no one but them could hear.

Well I don’t know about all of that. Shaa says with a wiley smile. I don’t want to shine my own horns but no one has ever seen EVERYTHING I’m really capable of. These little cubs aren’t anything more than a nuisance. Shaa was getting nervous he was about to make an idiot out of himself. He should be more focused on the fight but he was having a hard time concentrating with Kamille around. That was the kind of nonsense that could get a person mauled. Shaa shook his head back and forth, recentering. As Shaa maneuvers around to strike, the black wolf stays just out of range. His friend still lay in a furry heap on the forest floor.
From behind, Shaa can feel an intense heat starting to flare up. Glancing back, he can see that Kamille has assumed a form of living fire. She was even more impressive than the rumors had let on. The burning entity started to lay fiery waste to their enemies, Shaa gave a low whistle. He never really considered himself a show off but he felt that this was an encounter he may need to make an exception. If for nothing else, so Kamile would know his reputation wasn’t just talk. Ok maybe just this once.
Shaa tossed the tree to the side. With a flourish of hand signs, Shaa summons a giant stone wall in between them and the dark werewolf. As it finishes, with burning alacrity, Shaa runs straight up the wall without stopping. When he reaches the top of the wall, Shaa performs a special technique from the fighters guild known as a guillotine drop. With tremendous speed, he drops down the other side of the wall, right on the head of the unsuspecting werewolf. It tries fruitlessly to block but Shaa pounds through his defense, crushing the beasts spine like an accordion. Haha didn’t see that one coming did you? Turning his shoulder in, Shaa busts back through the wall to check on the remaining enemies, picking his tree back up along the way.

With her whole shape taken by fire, the werewolves held out another wave of attack towards her. The only one that jumped out of the clearing seemed to change its mind as the woman started to breath fire, but was too slow to avoid it: he was, too, enveloped in flames and made his run for the depths of the forest once again, his flaming figure still burning after receiving the fiery breath, as well as the others[1].
Kamille looked over her shoulders just in time to witness Shaa run up to the wall and drop like a hammer, squashing whatever it was on the other side. She knew Shaa was a skilled fighter, but she didn’t really comprehend what that truly meant until now. And by the end of that adventure, she had the feeling she would be surprised even more... The Witch even took a fright when Shaa simply walked back through the wall like it was made of paper. Kamille chuckled softly at that - it'a true she had wanted to make him a bit nervous, but he would probably take his fair bit of payback for it.
The growls and whinning kept on traveling around them: when another werewolf jumped forward, it was immediately grabbed by the ressurging gargoyle that had been gleefully stomping around the clearing. The werewolf was dragged by its hind legs and promptly tossed at another one. Sir Prize seemed about to give chase some more, but ended up stopping on its tracks, assuming his more regal, stationary position all of a sudden. In the blink of an eye, the gargoyle shrunk back to its original size of a piece of chess. Kamille extended her hand and the piece flew to her opened hand [2].
"We should probably keep moving, Shaa. And only stop at the house. We could be here all night? How about that? Mischief! Can you lead the way?"
As Kamille called out, they would hear the raven's croaks above the growls hiding between the shadows. The raven had flewn away from danger as the fight started, as it always did.
"CAWWW! This way! This way! This waaaaaaaay!"
Happily out of the turmoil, the raven sang above the trees as he directed them to the place the house was. They would have to fight their way up there, but... It would seem they could handle it so far.
So far...

Sounds like a plan. Just stay behind me, we’ll get through. Shaa watched as the raven lead the way. Apparently word had gotten out in the forest and no more werewolves were daring to approach. Even so, several pairs of yellow eyes followed them wherever they went. Watching. Waiting. They seemed to be walking forever when Shaa finally spotted a large wrought iron gate in the distance. What he didn’t see was any sign of a road or civilization for that matter. Just a large intimidating gate that was ever looming before them in the distance. I can see something up ahead.
As the two approached the gate, the eyes from the forest seemed to vanish. Shaa wasn’t quite sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. Either way, they were here and there was no turning back. Shaa tried to look beyond the gate but a thick layer of grey fog was blocking the view beyond. There seemed to be some sort of strange smell, like a sickly sweetness coming from the dense miasma.
Checking the gate, there didn’t seem to be any lock or keyhole that would allow them access. Shaa turns to Kamille. I could try to bust in but something tells me that would go badly. Any ideas?
