In flavor, Beak lives with Rena Brighteyes and Beak's Barrow Basement is an expansion to The Crows' Barrow. This is purely for flavor, though; mechanically, the only effects of this arrangement are that both houses are located in the Crescent Isles.
Somewhere in the Crescent Isles, there's a picturesque countryside with large, rolling hills. One of these hills has a door built into its side. Here, one can find the home of Rena Brighteyes and her family.
What few people know is that this hill is asymmetrical; "ground level," where the Blackfeathers' front door is located, is much higher up on the hill's front side than it is in back. The home itself has several stories, and Beak has converted its lowest level into workspaces and leisure rooms for her various activities. A door leads outside from the basement, but it's more to a sort of grand secluded back yard for the family than anything properly connected to the outside world. The base of this hill--its true base, on its lower side--is but one of four walls making up something of a miniature canyon or valley, with thick forest on all sides keeping the very existence of this clearing something of a lesser-known secret. Various extra rooms have been built into the other surrounding hills and canyon walls, giving Beak and her family access to side rooms and buildings for whatever miscellaneous purposes they may need.
A small stream cuts through two oppositing sides of the valley, thus giving the rainwater a place to go and preventing the entire backyard from becoming a lake whenever there's a storm. This stream is the only entrance or exit besides the door leading into the basement of the Blackfeathers' main home, making the entire area something of a private refuge for those looking to spend some time outside without the rest of the world watching.
