How Homes Work
Buying a home in Charon comes with some unique perks including your own location sub board on the forum, fulfilling prerequisites for Prestige Classes or other game systems, and much more. While homes are a great investment, there are some unique rules associated with them.
You may buy as many homes as you would like, however only one will count as your primary home. Your primary home is the one used for the Political System and the only home you can buy upgrades for. If you own multiple homes you must indicate which is your primary one.
When you buy a home, please provide an image and a name for your new sub board to one of the Admins. It can take some time for the sub board to be created. Once created, you will be able to find your home sub board under Player Homes (wagons and houses), or Player Owned Ships (ships).
In your home's sub board, you can make an information thread which staff will make sticky after it is created. Your information thread can be as detailed as you wish, but should at least include the following details: the home's size/type, the region your home can be found in, and any purchased upgrades.
The size or type of your home determines how many other PCs residing in it can benefit from accessing the Political System if they have enough Renown. You may have more PCs and NPCs living in your house for flavor, but they will not gain any mechanical benefit. Only PCs who gain access to the Political System through living in your home need to be listed in your home's information thread. Only a home's owner benefits from any upgrades to the home.
