Political System
The world of Charon has many adventures to go on and many more mysteries to uncover. However, as you spend time in the world, you may realize that the most dangerous and complicated aspects of life in Charon are not the monsters who hide in the woods or the cultists attempting to summon evil from another world. Instead, it is the political discourse that is found across the continent that threatens the day to day lives of its civilians.
The Political System can be complex but will reward you with a chance to leave your mark on Charon.
Joining the Political System
To begin the process, you must first reach Level Two of the Renown System, and then either buy your own home or live in a home owned by another PC already in the Political System. If you buy a home, you must select a region of Charon to become politically aligned with (this will be where your primary home is located/associated with). If you live in the home of another PC, you are considered politically aligned with the region their home is located in. Only your primary home determines which region you are politically aligned with.
The region you are politically aligned with must be listed on your Character Description thread as your Nationality. PCs that own a home must list residents of their home in a thread detailing the home's size, region, and upgrades which can be found on the home's sub board. PCs that live in a home but do not own a home must also indicate whose home they are residing in for the purposes of gaining access to the Political System. The size of your home determines how many PCs can gain this benefit.
Just because you are politically aligned with a specific region, it does not mean you are not allowed to roleplay in other regions. There are no restrictions on where your character can go, regardless of the relationship between regions. Likewise, you are free to either work together, or against other players to impact the world using the Political System.
You can participate in the Political System with multiple characters of your own, but they cannot be politically aligned with the same region.

Political Regions and the Leaders
The world is split up into several regions, with each region having at least one seat of power, normally a city or village where its leaders rule from. The regions and their headquarters can be found on the map below. The leaders of these regions can be found in the list below the map.

Security Levels and the Security Tracking Chart
Each region has a security level attached to it; this determines how stable a region is. Security levels will only affect how the regions view each other. When a region's security level reaches a certain threshold, positive or negative, it will trigger a world event. This world event can be anything including war, taking over another region, implementing a new leader or even expansion beyond Charon. These events will be determined by staff.
The Political Quests you partake in will affect the security level of a region, either in a positive or negative way as indicated by the quest details. This number will continue to fluctuate, rising and falling as quests are completed across Charon by various participants. Each region’s progress is displayed on the Security Tracking Chart.
The Political Quest Board houses the current missions you can participate in. When you complete a Political Quest, you will turn it into the Sales Counter.
