Knightly Order Initiations
Three Knight Orders of Prominence work throughout Charon, each with their own motivations and aspirations. The Orders all move towards achieving a better Charon, with their own ideologies and beliefs of how to go about this. They operate in their own circles but are not opposed to each other, often working together to achieve those aspirations. With the current landscape of Charon, the Orders have begun recruiting new Squires to help protect the realm while progressing their own ambitions.
The Knights are looking for you! Brave, strong, and daring heroes who want to help bring change to Charon. There are three quest listed below, one for each of the Knightly Orders, which can be done to gain entry into the Order as well as unlock a Subclass. You can only complete one of the quest and only join one of the orders, however anyone can claim the subclass regardless of which order they joined.
These quest are also permanently available and can be completed by anyone that is a Tradesfolk or higher. Participants who do not want to join any order can still complete the quest to claim the renown reward.

The Knights of Tegrid Initiation
The process of joining the Knights of Tegrid, while simple in description, can be an arduous one. Once a perspective initiate has set their eyes on the knight order and approached with hopes of joining, they must meet a member of the Knights at one of the many shrines throughout Charon to receive their task and an emblem signifying them as a perspective Knight of Tegrid in the process of their initiation. The task is always as follows: Commune with nature and then return to this shrine.
While the task sounds simple, it can be a difficult trial. It is left intentionally vague so that the perspective knight can do what suits them best. While Primeval Warden's and Earth Domain casters are the most common members of the Knights of Tegrid and may choose to meditate in the forest or communicate with a powerful beast, those of other domains are also permitted. One in tune with the Sea Domain might choose to sit beneath a waterfall or even set themself adrift in the ocean until they feel they've reached the communion they were tasked with finding. Someone attuned to the Sky Domain might climb to the highest point they could find during a storm in the hopes of being struck by lightning. In any case, the task can take anywhere from a few days to a few years. Some even don't survive the process.
When the task is complete, the emblem will glow to show they have successfully communed with nature, but the glow of the emblem is less of a signifier for the perspective knight and more for proof to their examiner. The knight rarely doesn't know they've just communed with nature, however they did so.
Once the glowing emblem is returned to the shrine, they can officially be welcomed into the Knights of Tegrid.
Quest Name: Nature's First Green is Gold
Participants: Exactly Two
Post Requirements: 7 Post, 200 words per post
Reward: +1 Renown and Initiation into the Knights of Tegrid (Unlocks Squire Subclass)
Description: After receiving your quest and emblem, you must find a way to truly commune with nature. Many will try to speed the process up by sitting in a garden for an hour, but one can't commune with nature without becoming a part of it, both physically and spiritually. Before your symbol can activate, you must experience a life altering moment in nature, where your being momentarily blends with the soul of nature. How this occurs is entirely up to you. Knights Of Duros Initiation Quest
The Knights of Duros pride themselves on being discerning both of character and of skill. To apply to the Knights of Duros, one must first find one of their number. Typically, they serve the realm as Knights Errant, questing Knights who have a golden reputation among a muddy sea of brigands and mercenaries, and thus, are relatively easy to find. However, the task they present for those interested in joining the Order is onerous, meant to push to the abilities of the hopeful applicant to their limits.
After being provided an emblem, the prospective Knight is tasked with furthering the civility of Charon as whole. The Knights themselves are proud supporters of the monarchy, and their task thusly falls under that broad umbrella. The applicant can choose to complete the task in whatever manner they choose-- clearing out a dangerous monster from an area, helping to establish settlements in wild areas such as the Marsh Flats, the Arid Mesa and the Zeinav Desert, or destroying a darkness that would obscure the rightful rule of the High King. Once accomplished, the hopeful Knight is to return to Sol City to meet with one of the six members of the Duros family to be formally inducted.
When the task is complete, the emblem will glow to show they have successfully accomplished their goal of furthering the sovreignity of Sol City, but the glow of the emblem is less of a signifier for the prospective knight and more for proof to their examiner.
Once the glowing emblem is brought to Sol City and one of the six leaders of the Order, they can officially be welcomed into the Knights of Duros.

Knights of Galavance Initiation Quest
The Knights of Galavance are an order with a history that hearkens back to the Collapse, and is synonymous with the noble lineage. In order to join their number, the Knight hopeful must prove that they are worthy of the Order.
The process of joining the Knights of Galavance is typically begun months in advance, starting with the completion of a written application, followed by petitions to the Order containing, written and notartized testaments of personal character, and concluding with an interview of a Knight of high rank. If found to be of the requisite standard, the prospective Knight is given the task; to secure a name, a legend, befitting of the Knights of Galavance. The applicant is then provided with an emblem and told to return once they have done a deed so great as to earn for themselves a special moniker. Titles and names that are already taken are provided in advance before they are set out, so as to properly preserve the history of the order.
While the task provides a great amount of freedom in how this is accomplished, it takes most Knights years to earn a title of honour-- The Knights of Galavance require the prospective applicant to do so in one fell swoop, by accomplishing a deed so worthy of renown that they are immortalized in title, story, and song. This is often accomplished during the summer tourney, where titles and favors are bestowed upon victors of particular fields of competition. In other times of the year, this can be done by providing services to the community at large, performing heroic or risky, impossible acts to earn their monikers.
When the task is complete, the emblem will glow to show they have successfully accomplished their goal of earning a leged worthy of the order, but the glow of the emblem is less of a signifier for the prospective knight and more for proof to their examiner.
Once the glowing emblem is brought back to the High Court of the Knights of Galavance in The Pale City and found to be in good order, they can officially be welcomed into the Knights of Galavance.
