I look down at the package I was given before swiping my wrist to put it away as I make my way to the peaks I love to visit. The winter months are entering, and that means a war on nature as usual for locals in Dragon's Cradle. From those that have everything ready and have already began setting up the preparations to those that are newer and trying to procrastinate till it's to late. I glance to the sky, watching the patterns of the lightning and shifts in the clouds, before moving forward once more across the rocky landscape. A war forged path of nature, is a better way to describe it than simply a road, after all. On the road, a place traveled by many and few at the same time, I would look both extremely peculiar with my monochrome gothic fancy outfit and my mini-me doll in a backpack straps and completely fitting as I habitually shift through the environment. Watching the familiar clouds, I glance ahead of me to see a tall figure in monochrome looking outfit, at least from a distance. Having met many creatures in these part, I wave a head of me to warn them no harm is coming, and it's only a fellow traveler.
Quest Name: Storm Proofed Participants: Two or more Location: Dragon's Cradle (Sky Peak) Post Requirements: 4 posts per person, 200 words per post Reward: +1 Renown Description: Those in the Cradle know winter can be especially rough for them, as the storms above don't cease just because the air has cooled, often times mixing with snow or rain, making them much more frustrating. Because of this, locals have made it a tradition to fix up homes, businesses, and establishments, getting them ready for both the winter storms and decrease in temperature. Sky Peak has an open invitation for anyone wanting to help in this endeavor. The job is simple: assist locals in weather proofing their homes with materials such as new lumber, pitch, shingles, and tools needed to do so.

Elvira looked to the sky and watches the lightning streak threateningly across, cutting through the clouds. Taking a deep breath in, she begins preparing herself for the challenges ahead. She had returned to her signature religious garb, a long and flowing set of monochrome robes with the golden vine designs and a darkened red trim on the borders and seams of the cloth. The robes were completely covering any trace of a figure, only allowing for the lower half of her face to show. She had preferred this, really. This way allowed for her to pass through most places without being judged as heavily for looks. The robes were also a gift received from the High Priestess for completing her religious studies and becoming a traveling cleric. It reminded her of home.
As she lowers her head, she spots the smaller person clad in monochrome waving at her. As she approaches, the cleric offers a soft smile. "Hello there, love. Would you mind pointing me in the direction of Sky Peak? I have a request from the city to render aid as a few stray bolts have injured some of their citizens. Any advice for avoiding these stray bolts would be much appreciated, as well."

Looking at the very alike garments that also hold a very intricate embroidery of roses and borders, I theorize over where and what someone looking like that while not being from here would wear. I tilt my head as I grin to her, a healer! Oh, a dearly needed think for these times! So many injuries and mishaps from construction would dearly need her help! I grin as do a light curtsy, "Hello to you too!" I tap my chin as I watch the sky, cores for the strips becoming close... "On the lighting part, you might was to step a bit to your left."
I quickly skip to the side before watching as lighting crashes into a patch near enough to where we were before would have gotten the residue of the blast. I turn back to them, "I can help you with the lightning strikes, it's hard to really have any trick to tell when you know it to well from practicing for years." I give many little claps as I look up the mountain trail. "It's all the way up there, hence why it's kinda of hard for healers to come that way." I spin back to her with my hand held forward, "By the way, I'm Keyke! Dragon's Cradle local!"

The cleric gives an odd look before moving as recommended. Once the bolt crashes to the ground, she looks back to the smaller adventurer near her with a touch of wonder in her expression. Crossing her arms, she shifts her weight to her left foot and smiles. "That was rather fascinating madame. I have always been told it was more of a guessing game when it comes to the strikes of lightning. If you trust that you can teach me the ways, I will look forward to learning much from you! I might as well learn while I can, as it would certainly make my travels through the Dragon's Cradle a lot less stressful."
When Keyke reaches her hand out, the elf would take it gently and offer a warm smile in return. "It is my pleasure to meet you, Miss Keyke of the Dragon's Cradle. Thank you for your aid in my journey, little one. I must apologize, however, as I feel inclined to ask you this question, if you feel willing to answer me. The question I must ask is of your age. How old might you be, my new friend?" Upon asking this, she gives a rather curious look to her newfound friend.

Oh! Oh! Oh! She asked the question! I grin wide as I feel the click of the question fall into place, a safe place for curiosity with another truly curious person. As if a light behind my eyes had been turned on, the golden hues in my eyes glimmer for a moment, patterns of almost a magic circle flashing before dimming. The second of light show showing a unique thing to those that look, or rather, the unique lack of any black pupil in my eyes. I tug at her arm lightly as a warning as I speak, "Well, funny thing, most people forget to ask that. I may not look it either, but I'm twenty!" I do a little flourish of my free hand as a do a little giggle.
I then properly grip their wrist as I turn around. "I never said I'd teach you the trade secret!" I cackle as I pull her and run up the road with a cackle of glee. My eyes watch the sky and see the cores hitting further away, providing they stay that way, the road should be safe for travel. I lean my head to call out behind me, "We might wanna rush the main incline areas so the lighting doesn't block the worn path with rubble while we are on it!"

Noticing the strangeness behind Keyke's eyes, Elvira tilts her head curiously and stares for a moment. "What manner of thing... wait... TWEN-"
Her surprise was interrupted by the oddly strong pull of the girl who had decided to race up the hill. She had barely heard the rest of what was said to her, instead she had been focused on the nature of the girl before her. "Just who exactly is this girl... or rather, what exactly is this girl? Should I be scared?"
The two run full speed up to the village of Sky Peak, dodging bolts of lightning and the shrapnel created by them when needed. As they arrive, villagers were running around in their chaotic ritual of storm preparation. Horse drawn carts full of wooden planks, bricks, large stones, and sandbags were running through the roads which had been narrowed down due to the pure amount of pedestrian foot traffic. The sounds of people shouting over each other mixed with the roar of the wheels of the carts rushing along cobblestone streets and filled the ears of the two adventurers as they step past the gates of the village. As always, the smells of the local bakeries and eateries wafted through the air, taking the time to feed the hungry stomachs of all the helping hands.
Elvira marveled at the sight for some time before looking down to the girl next to her. "So much chaos, yet the people are so orderly in helping the neighbors. A beauty arising from the chaos, if you will. Are the people of Dragon's Cradle always this helpful to one another?"

I let go of her hand and spin to her. I cross my arms and give her a deadpan stare for a moment before answering, "No." I shake my head and gesture my hand to the village, "Contrary to the travel we have to get here," I start to smile at the thought of the race up here, "This is one of the most peaceful societies of Dragon's Cradle. Thorock is a criminal wasteland, and Stormgale is a place for thrill seekers. The new village Hearthside is still very new!" I close my arms behind my back and grin, "As I said before, not very many people travel here unless a local of this region helps, and I think you got to see why. It's not exactly easy."
I step back as people walk between us, letting them through before doing a spin once more to face the rest of the village. "Anyway, let's get to work!" I make a fist before stopping as I remember an important factor. "Wait!" I summon a black book, flip through many pages before coming to the end, and shut it just as quickly as I summoned it. "I almost forgot! One of my partners in business sent me with a package for a buddy of his up here since they heard I was coming to help!" I giggle as I see the person in question, "Well what do you know! His location wasn't as secret as I'd thought it'd be! I'll be right back!" I ran over without looking back, summoning the package and handing it to a man who had finished getting thick quilts delivered to the home. We gave a nod as he read the letter and I ran back to Elvira to help her out.

"'Tis a shame, society would be so much more delightful for all should we band together and begin to care for one another. Alas, certain people merely wish to harm others and take more than what would suffice for what they need. Nevertheless, the people of Sky Peak have requested our aid, and our aid they shall receive, my friend."
She shakes her head at the thought of people fighting each other over mere scraps. It disturbed her without fail, despite how many times she had witnessed it for herself. All she could viably do was to help where she could. She'd heal their wounds, cure their ailments, and watch them return to the same process that had landed them in the situation that brought her there in the first place. It was a brutal circle, perhaps one that was worse than the circle of life itself. Regardless, she kept doing what she could, making the largest dent in the world that she could, however small it truly was.
Her nihilist thought process was interrupted by Keyke happily skipping away and passing a package to a man, supposedly something secret. Elvira would tilt her head curiously and cross her arms, giving a playfully suspicious look towards the smaller woman. "You truly are a peculiar woman. I almost worry about what trouble I have gotten myself in by associating with you," she says with a smile. "I suppose it's too late, and I must deal with the consequences! Either way, I must ask you to lead me to where the aid is being set up. I sense that a healer is greatly needed."

I giggle and scratch at my check at the mysterious comment, "It's nothing really, heard from the person who sent me that package that his family has someone who was sick and needed a specific herb that it's found in this region." I move my hands together in a clap as she makes her request, I glance around the area and read the travel points and the injuries on cared people to gain a direction of where it would be. My face holding a wide grin as I look up to her, "No problem, I can agree that many here will need healing, I mean look at the people here in one of the safer zones." I shake my head and raise my hand to point down the road, "It's going to be thing way." I quick walk forward and dodge the many people bustling around the place, pausing on top of taller parts to wave and wait for Elvira to keep up with me as I rad the course and gain the path to the aid station. During this movement, if Elvira keeps close enough, she can see a little doll behind my long white hair. It's moving and shifting my hair as I move to keep it from catching onto any loose things and from hindering my movement at all.
