Javal was excited as Nadia went over information about the ten elder hydra. They had heard of a powerful hydra wreaking havoc in the Marsh Flats hurting people and for that, they could not stand. The Drakon Security Company was on the case and determined to put the beast to a stop. He sat on his ship as it sailed from Thorock to the Marsh Flats, the trip taking a total of four days. Javal suited up in his full armor for this was looking to be the hardest yet most exciting battle he had since Vulcadreus. This was big and he was bringing the entirety of his available force. The crew eventually docked down at the edge of the swamp before the Drakon Security Company emerged and walked down the ramp beginning their search.
Javal led the team and behind him were his left and right hands, Nadia Sadrine whom he gave his ray bow, and Meryl Greine armed with the Ignis Staff he handed her. Behind them was Caspian who was a nervous wreck at the thought of fighting such a terrifying monster. Alongside the crew were his two most dependable pets Ganpu the Celestial Manta and Shimmer the Greater Dragonfly both of which had proven themselves capable. Especially shimmer considering she was of great help during the Vulcadreus battle. He even had his trusted ice pixie Glacea sit on his shoulder as he walked forward and observed the scene. Everything seemed quiet, nobody was around, just empty swamp swamp and more swamp. He stepped forward and the team started their search looking around for any clues of where the monster could have gone.
It’s Caspian who finds the sign of the beast first as he yells over for the crew to check out a large footprint he found. The team then follows the footprints and soon begins to walk through the signs of a rampage. Destroying brush and demolished trees soon enough the team spots something ahead and starts jogging towards it ready for battle only to see it is not a giant many-headed beast but instead a single-headed purple fellblood.

They absolutely hated to admit it, but… Morrigan Moonweaver was lost.
It might have seemed an odd sight for someone as carefully manicured and deliberately beautiful as the fellblood in the deepest parts of the Marsh Flats swamps, covered in muck and grime and smelling more like decay than lavender, but Morrigan had been rather busy hunting down and slaying a Bogaboo to get a nice bath in. That had been a couple days ago by now - and though they’d had guidance in the form of a tiny criminal bird when venturing in, Fish had left them to their own devices after the Bogaboo had been slain, taking the map and their survival tools with them. Which meant Morrigan was left to struggle and suffer and pick a random direction until they found civilization, an inn… something.
What they’d found instead was a clearing, one littered in destruction and scratches. From the back of their trusted drake and animal companion, Bubbles, Morrigan patted the creature’s red scales to bring him to a stop. “Hold on there, friend.”
Bubbles obeyed, sitting down and glancing up at Morrigan with sparkling eyes, as if asking for a pet. Morrigan obeyed, leaning over and scratching the hellfire drake under the chin while they assessed the clearing warily. They weren’t a survivalist, but even they were fairly certain that this much damage was a bad thing.
But what could have caused it?
Morrigan hopped off of Bubbles, trudging through the semi-stable swamp ground to the source of the damage. They ran their fingers along the deep gashes, tracing their own claws against the claw marks on a particularly dead tree with a frown. Whatever it was, it was far bigger than a human. Another Bogaboo? No, the markings did not seem right. Not to mention there were none of the other signs indicating this might be the malevolent undead creature. Still, Morrigan reached for one of the elixirs of holy water on their belt, on guard just in case one popped out of the bushes like a spring daisy.
And yet, the bog was silent…
And then Morrigan heard the SNAP of branches as something big made its way into the clearing. With a shriek, Morrigan whipped around and lobbed the potion straight at the figure’s face.[1]
It was in that moment Morrigan realized it was not a beast at all, but a Javal. 1. Holy Water

Javal was suddenly hit by a splash of holy water as he stood about to greet his dear friend he stands completely still and doesn't look affected. Nadia immediately raised her ray bow and pointed at the other fellblood angered and annoyed that they had dared insult their lord.
Javal stood there as Meryl wiped the holy water off of his helmet before he took the piece of armor off and said with a smile, “My apologies for scaring you there friend Master Morrigan Moonweaver I am not a mercenary but Javal Zarrias here on a quest alongside my lovely team”.
Nadia glared at the purple fellblood ray bow still aimed at their head before Javal motioned her to drop it which after some hesitation she did.
He bows before putting his hand out, “It’s nice to see you again Morrigan. It has been some time, since I’ve fought a god, and have had many other adventures. I’m way stronger than I was before. I hope that’s the case for you. How’re you doing, friend? I hope everything has been great for you how are you and your company doing? I see friend Bubbles is looking as scaly and precious as ever”, he said motioning towards the drake.
Meanwhile, as he’s speaking Caspian and Meryl are blessed to focus on the new person and more on petting the incredible dragon
Javal then asks, “We’re here to take down the elder Hydra that has been reported around the area causing complete cause and destruction. Have you seen it at all? Nadia read reports that said that it should be around here being evil and fiendish”.

Oh, shit. I did NOT mean to do that.
Javal’s servant, the waifish elven one - Nadia Sadrine if they remembered correctly - immediately leveled her bow at them, not firing immediately, which they did appreciate, because they didn’t want to spend the morning with an arrow sticking out of their side and ruining yet another tunic. Clasping their hands together and straightening, as if that embarrassing little hiccup had not occurred, Morrigan approached the company, a wide grin on their face.
“Javal Zarrias! It has been some time, has it not? When was it we saw each other last - when fighting those cultists? Good times, good times! Forgive me for the quick reaction, one might never know what they’ll find in these swamps! Why, just a few days ago, a companion of mine and I ended up battling a fearsome Bogaboo, dreaded bogeyman of the Black Bog…”
They smirked at the elven retainer as she was instructed to put the bow away, looking quite put out that she hadn’t been able to shoot them as she likely wanted to. “Yes, Miss Nadia Sadrine, please put the bow away! I mean you no harm, especially not when I’ve saved your master’s life several times…” They said, affixing a tone that was somewhere between mock-polite and offended, before turning back to Javal. “Ah, I’m delighted to hear the fruits of your training have served you well. I suppose I’ve gotten stronger, though someone of my prowess loses track of how much more powerful they’ve gotten.” They boasted - all greatly exaggerated, though there was likely a kernel of truth to their words.
There was something a touch… different, about Morrigan Moonweaver. It was difficult to tell, what with all the bravado they normally carried, but those who knew them well enough might be able to pinpoint that it was a different kind of self confidence. Not born from a deep well of insecurity, but rather, true confidence. Somewhere along the line, Morrigan had shed a veil of inadequacy that had always fueled their words and actions… perhaps a dangerous thing. But considering the hunt that Javal and his friends were on, it could serve as a boon.
Morrigan turned when Javal mentioned Bubbles, surprised to see the other fellblood had two more young friends who had taken to petting the drake. Bubbles’s tongue was sticking out, his tail thumping against the ground enough to rattle dirt and swampwater in his pure joy from getting so much affection.
It was a good thing they’d turned away so Javal could not see the way their face paled at the mention of a Ginma-damned elder hydra.
What was one of those doing back here? Was Morrigan cursed to find nothing but hell in these swamps? Oh, they hated the Marsh Flats.
Forcing calm, Morrigan squared their shoulders and strode confidently over to the trees that they’d been investigating when Javal stumbled upon them. “Nothing in person here, aside from the Bogaboo… but come here. I’d just chanced upon these marks of destruction when you found me. It seems that the creature you seek is not far away from this location.” They suppressed a shudder at the thought that they’d likely barely just missed crossing paths with it.

Javal smiled as he greeted his purple-toned friend and listened to them speak, “Woah!? A bugaboo those guys are some really tough opponents I got lost during my initial search for one and took one down alongside my wereshark friend Percy. How’d you do, friend? I’m sure you crushed it skillfully with that powerful magic of yours knowing your abilities”.
Nadia’s eyes narrowed as she looked down at the fellblood who taunted her, she had indeed heard of Morrigan saving her boss a few times and she was thankful for that. However just because that was the case that didn’t make the fellblood any more likable. Nadia had barely met the adventurers and already didn’t like them, they were so haughty and fake that it made the elf woman upset.
Javal smiled as he heard Morrigan had truly become strong. It even was hearable in their voice, confident as ever, “That’s wonderful my friend, hopefully, that’ll serve well if you run into that strong ten-headed beast! Yes, we say the trail and come across you thinking you were the hydra for a few seconds, my apologies friend Morrigan”.
Javal then thumps his legs as he looks over the damage, “Woah! This certainly is one strong hydra if this is to be considered. I mean just look at these trees it looks like they were torn up from the earth itself. Just how strong is a ten-headed elder hydra?”, the fellblood questioned excitedly.

“That sounds in line with the observations my companion and I made in our initial report for the researcher that hired us.” All sent to Master Lloyd McLastname, along with a hefty dry cleaning bill for all of Morrigan’s Zeinavian silks that had been damaged in the scuffle. “For all its skills in haunting and misdirection, though, I found the actual creature to be quite lacking in prowess.” An… oddity. Though it was true that Morrigan Moonweaver, charlatan and liar and coward in most situations had not, miraculously, run into much trouble when it came to felling the undead creature itself.
Misdirection and mind games, Morrigan could handle. Those were the fellblood’s bread and butter, fundamentals to the games they played. The raw strength a creature like the Elder Hydra might possess, on the other hand…
That would be a problem.
And based on the way Javal was speaking, he seemed convinced that Morrigan would be accompanying them on this mission, or at the very least, encountering this fearsome hydra for themselves. Morrigan didn’t want to fight a hydra! Their skin and complexion were far too delicate for an encounter with a many-headed beast! “Ah, yes, of course… should I run into one, it would be nothing in the face of my strength. It’s only natural!” They tried to hide the nervous tremor in their voice. Thankfully, Javal didn’t seem to notice the lapse in their bravado, too focused on the destruction Morrigan had found.
And why the hell was he so excited about this?
Morrigan knew Javal was a bit… battle-focused, but even so, charging right into battle with an elder denizen was nothing short of suicidal! Morrigan clasped their hands behind their back, acting as natural as they could. “I’d imagine quite strong, especially in comparison to its regular counterparts! Now, I find myself weary from the travel and the battles I’ve endured thus far. I wish you all the luck in the world for your hunt, though I believe this is the moment I ought to take my leave -“
It was at that moment a powerful roar split the very skies, and a scaled head darted from the nearby brush, maw opening as if to bite down on Morrigan’s torso, and the charlatan realized this very much was going to be their problem after all.

“Well, that doesn’t surprise me in the slightest, friend Morrigan. After all, a mage such as yourself shouldn’t have much trouble if you could burn it with fire magic. Percy and I had to destroy the beast with our hands and weapons, beating it, slashing it, and biting it with Percy’s wereshark form until we broke it piece by piece. Eventually, we unfortunately were only able to retrieve its body in pieces and send it to Lloyd for his research”.
“I’m more than sure that you’d be capable of easily defeating an elder hydra friend Morrigan after all with all your wisdom and power that seems only the best opponent for you”, Javal says in an honest and excited tone.
Nadia meanwhile couldn’t help but snicker to herself as she heard the other fellblood’s trembling voice amused at the adventurer’s fake bravado.
“Come on Morrigan join us please, I want to see your magic in action and fight alongside you again”, he clasps his hands and begs his feet fidgeting with excitement.
Nadia herself lets out a hearty laugh, “Or you could go Morrigan I can understand if you’re too scared to join us. After all this seems like too much for you and that’s fine we can take care of this ourselves”.
Suddenly before he could take another breath the beast was already among them about to attack Morrigan Javal quickly jumped in put his shield above him as he struggles to keep it away from him and Morrigan geting pushed into the floor.

“Only piece by piece?” Morrigan’s eyes glittered with the spirit of competition upon hearing Javal’s story. “Why, by the time I was done with it, there was not but ash left behind for Lloyd!” Granted, that was because Fish had been the one to set it ablaze and was really not due to any of Morrigan’s contributions, but eh, tales of victory went to the victors. Besides, a little embellishment never hurt anybody when the end result was still the same!
… Until said embellishment came back to bite them in the ass with Javal’s complete confidence that they could slay an elder hydra.
There’s no way in the world I could do that!
“Why, I could slay one in my sleep!”
Aww, and look at that, Javal was even doing a little dance while begging Morrigan to join them. When he asked so nicely, how could Morrigan not oblige? Well, aside from the very rational fact that there was no way in all the nine layers of hell that Morrigan could ever deliver their magic in action. If Morrigan ever balked when there was a little bit of risk then they’d never get anything done!
They cocked an eyebrow skeptically at Miss Nadia Sadrine. Oh, that tricky retainer was really determined to be a thorn in their side. “On the contrary, it would hardly be a challenge and a learning experience for Javal if I handled it in the blink of an eye, hmm?” They started making their way over to Bubbles, ready to saddle up their drake and make their way out. “Far be it from me to take that opportunity away from you, friends. So it is with a heavy heart I leave you all to this creature yourselves.”
Except that was the moment that it leapt at them.
Morrigan couldn’t move out of the way in time - Javal could. They were unceremoniously shoved out of the way from a pair of fangs that would have clamped down on their torso, landing in the mud with a SPLASH. Javal was holding the head back with the shield. And nine more descended upon them.
“Shit!” Morrigan scrambled to their feet, searching their bag for anything that might help - only to be assaulted by one of the free heads, its maw aimed right for Morrigan’s head. This time, the fellblood was ready. Instead of flinching away, they drove their arm into the creature’s open mouth and flexed their hand.
SHINK!
The hidden blade mechanism triggered, driving steel and poison straight through the roof of the mouth and the creature’s skull.[1,2] It froze, and for a moment, Morrigan thought they’d killed it, until the head bucked and writhed and knocked Morrigan away, spraying blackened blood everywhere.
Morrigan skidded away and let out a sharp whistle.
Bubbles responded, flapping his wings and taking to the air. The drake let out a roar, spewing hellfire at the hydra and throwing himself at it. His body weight slammed into the creature, occupying five of its heads and knocking it off balance - easing up the weight on Javal and giving him an opportunity to go on the offensive. But three more heads had redoubled their offensive against Javal, and two more against Morrigan. 1. Desert Stinger 2. Scorpion’s Venom

Caspian shivered, his feet barely able to keep him standing. This monster was a lot more terrifying and intense than his teacher was telling him. He was quickly taken out of his terrified state as his master called out to him and the rest of them.
“Everything’s going to be okay guys, I promise we’re going to get through this and kill this despicable beast”, he struggled to say as he tried pushing his boomer buckler against the fangs that threatened to break the metal circle in half.
Nadia was worried about her liege but steeled her resolve aiming her ray bow at the head that had Javal trapped and fired off an arrow of light striking it in the eye. This moment of distraction allowed the fellblood movement and he rolled to his right jumping up and ready to fight. Meryl charged at the beast, gripping the Ignis Staff in her hands before slamming it into the beast’s side hoping she’d be of some use.
“Caspian fire off an Ice Spike just like I’ve been teaching you”, Javal said as he sprinted throwing his boomer buckler at the beast’s head d that had him in place making a loud sound before returning to his hand earlier before he surged forward with his katana ready to at least start the process of chopping off its many heads.
The young man nervously manages to hold his hand out summoning the glacial magics in his hands shaping it into a long ice spear and throws it with all his strength at the beast's body.
Javal twisted his grip as his sword made contact with the hydra’s seventh head still dazed from his buckler move from earlier. His bright blue and white glowing blade cut through the beast’s scaly flesh. Suddenly before Javal could make another breath and the hydra’s head could make it to the ground, from the creature’s bloodied stump another head grew and hissed at the fellblood quickly opening its maw and attempting to bite down on his head.

Javal’s entourage was backing him up, keeping some of the heat off of him with weapon attacks that pulled the hydra’s attention away. Morrigan had no such support. Two heads bore down on them, one opening its maw in a spray of noxious gas. Morrigan coughed, rolling backwards - too late, as the toxin had already begun to spread through their body, veins turning black where the poison hit. Morrigan coughed up a wad of black blood to the ground, their chest tightening from the toxin.
Shit. They’d crossed paths with a fucking poison element elder hydra. Morrigan wasn’t certain they had an anti venom strong enough to combat this. Didn’t matter. For once in their life, they’d been thrown into an all-out brawl they didn’t think they had the skills to win. There was no charming or using their wits against a ferocious beast whose bite was just as horrifying as its bark. Reaching for their bag, they pulled out a small jar covered in a cloth - a jar that contained a small, writhing, ink-like creature. Morrigan broke the jar on the ground, freeing the black-bog leech from its confines.
And without any more preamble, they shoved the leech onto their other arm.[1] Black poison ebbed from their veins, a grin almost feral in its ambition painted across their face. “It’s going to take more than that to kill me, beastie.”
The hydra decided to take them up on that challenge in the form of a vicious pair of fangs threatening to clamp down on their face. Morrigan ducked with the grace of a contortionist, their limbs popping as teeth sailed overhead and clamped down on the spot they’d just been sitting at.[2] Sweat beaded down the charlatan’s face - the deadliest game of limbo. Pressing their palm to thick scales, Morrigan’s crescent-moon tattoo began to glow. Vines sprouted from lavender skin, conjured earth brought to life - it wrapped itself around the hydra’s neck, locking it in place.[3] They used the vines to hoist themselves up, locking their legs around its neck.
How did one even go about killing an ouroboros of limbs and heads and thoughts and scales? How did one hack away at a Goliath’s defenses when more opposition would rise to take its place? You could slay the body, but the concept would remain - and Morrigan was in no mood to test fate with lobbing this thing’s head off. Perhaps if they simply had the time to create a strong explosive -
“Javal! Not its head!”
But it was too late. His sword cut through muscle and bone like butter - too easy, deceptively easy - and from the remains rebirthed a new monster. Morrigan fumbled with an alchemically soaked coin in their pocket; twirled it in their fingers and flicked it at the reforming head to keep the damn thing from its mark; missed wildly, throwing themselves off the hydra’s neck from the recoil of the silvered projectile.[3] At least the distraction might buy Javal some time, a moment to react, anything.
They were playing defensive against the beast but they were going to need more. Javal’s retainers wouldn’t be able to handle themselves for much longer if their master was wont to cut off all the beast’s heads with that magnificently sharp sword. Perhaps if Morrigan could get to the air, drop deadly explosives on the thing from above…
It was risky.
But if there never was any, then where would the fun in the world be?
They just needed more time to make it happen.
While Javal battled the rest of the heads - which had now opened their maws in a concentrated poison attack against the fellblood - Morrigan reached for their bag, hoping to make a miracle; anything to give them an edge in this battle. 1. Black Bog Leech 2. Witcher Pitcher Clipping 3. Glinting Arrow - Transmuter (Silver Coin Consumed) 4. Yasaka’s Summer Beach Bag 3GvyuXTc

Javal felt the monstrous hydra’s breath as its teeth opened wide to shut on his head before the young man could do anything else but pull his head back; it managed to land a single slash from its fang. He jumped back holding his cheek while he held his katana with his other hand. He could feel its venom course through the injury and started coughing and wheezing the poison had gotten into his system. He grits his teeth and pushes forward. He wasn't going to lose this battle, he just knew it.
He glanced at Morrigan noticing they’d been hit calling out, “Meryl help Morrigan out now”, the sun elf nodded and rushed towards the violet fellblood keeping her ignis staff out as she stood alongside the trickster.
He could feel the poison working its effects as the world became a little blurrier and his movements a little sloppier. Still, his resolve stayed the same ignoring the pain bursting through his body he clenched the hilt of his sword with his right hand as he charged once more sprinting towards the beast.
Caspian charged another Ice Spike doing the best he could; he knew he wasn’t strong enough to be at the front lines but he was at least going to chip away at its focus.
Nadia herself felt her heart race her lord needed her and the only thing she could do was pull her bow and shoot another arrow of light once more.
The blue fellblood looked like he was going to attempt to clash with the hydra once more but at the last minute he dropped and slid on his knees touching the mud floor with his left glowing cyan blue color. Ice expanded (1) from his hand and stretched all around the monster’s feet and then some covering the battlefield with it. Javal then stood up sluggishly and swiped his blade across the monster’s head hoping to chop off a head for good. His blade was truly enveloped and white and blue light (2) his heart was set as the steel cut through flesh only to once again grow at an alarming pace.

The air smelled of venom and rot; everything felt thick and potent, difficult to breathe. Morrigan held their breath, ducking out of the way, but Javal wasn’t so lucky. The same poison that had afflicted Morrigan now coursing through his veins. Hell. This was going to be a problem. The charlatan had no vials of antivenom on them to speak of, and they needed their frontline fighter in working condition! Only one thing to do in a situation like this - Morrigan ripped the leech off of their arm and whipped it at Javal, trying to strike somewhere that his armor wasn’t covering. His cheek would have to do.
“I cast spell of leech!”
It was not a perfect solution, but it would have to do. Javal taken care of, Morrigan returned to their own dilemma. Namely, the massive creature in front of them. Javal needed a moment to recover while his retainers kept the heat off of him. Another temporary solution… but it would not last forever. The beast was gaining ground, and it would not be long before they were overpowered. Not if Morrigan could help it.
They pulled the bottle of sand out from their bag, flipping the cork off the top with their thumb and tossing it behind them. A second later, glass crashed; and the earth gave a mighty tremor as a sand-castle golem rose from the swamp’s murk. Morrigan spread their arms in the air with a vicious cackle, and a triumphant smirk on their face. “Rise, my sand golem!”
And the earth began to shake.
“You know what they say - the bigger they are, the harder they fall!”
They remained still and upright as the earth began to shake with explosive force, the sandcastle pounding at the earth.[1,2] The hydra was not so lucky. Between Javal rooting it to the ground with ice and Morrigan’s earth-shaking construct, it wobbled and struggled to stay upright. If there was a time to strike its weakness, it would be now -
“Not again!”
Javal’s sword sliced through flesh like butter… and unlike butter, flesh grew back once more. Morrigan winced, taking another step back. They weren’t going to be able to destroy the dragon like this. Welp; no better time than now to blow this thing to kingdom come! Morrigan brought their fingers to their lips in a sharp whistle, calling Bubbles to their side. Grabbing onto the reigns, Morrigan spun and twisted, and pulled themselves into Bubbles’s saddle. “Javal! Keep the beast distracted. Don’t cut off its head again!”
Warning uttered, they took to the skies with a flap of Bubbles’s wings.
Okay. This was going to take a minute to set up. A single minute should be easy, right? Not with a poison-breathing beastie ready to eat them at any given second. This is why I hate dealing with monsters… too much brute force and not enough charm, and you certainly weren’t going to make any money out of this! They huffed, grabbing some alchemical supplies from their pack. With their tail, they reached into the Bag of Wonders for another miracle.[3] “Bubbles. Be a dear and help Javal why don’t you? Help Javal out while I construct this bomb.” They patted their drake on the side. Bubbles obeyed, swooping down and opening his mouth with a roar of hellfire against one of the hydra’s heads. 1. He failed once more to make a clean permanent cut and caused two more heads to pop up from their place. Javal staggered back holding himself up by his katana as he stabbed it into the earth. The poison was starting to affect him badly. He couldn't keep going anymore, his vision was blurry, his legs could barely work, his arms were numb, and he had a violent headache. Even so, he stood, he wasn’t going to fall, not here, not now, not ever. He had people here he cared about to protect all of his friends needed him to be stronger to be better.
Suddenly before he had a chance to move he heard the faint sound of someone yelling in front of him, was that Morrigan? The leech “spell” worked and suddenly as it stuck to his cheek it drained him of the venom. His vision returned to normal and his body felt relatively fine now. He smiled wide, “Thank you friend Morrigan your incredible has saved me once more, I shall not let your magic go to waste. I’ll do my best to defeat this creature without cutting its head this time as you said. Even if I may not know how to do that”.
He then held his sword firm in his hands before opening his mouth and unleashing a ray of ice aiming at the monster’s heads (1). Then he followed that up by tapping his red-colored cuirass and unleashing a breath of fire on it (2). It took him another moment to recover using such a constantly changing technique but it was the only thing he could think of to keep it on its toes while Morrigan did whatever they were doing.
Caspian feels his feet shaking as he continues to throw another ice spike into its hide; he's beginning to weaken and his nerves aren’t going away. Nadia continues to fire her ray bow to little effect as the monster just seems to shake it and Caspian attacks off. Meryl keeps guard of Morrigan holding her Ignis Staff up, waving it around, determined to keep the purple fellblood safe since her boss told her to.

What was better than one sand castle golem causing an earthquake? Two sandcastle golems causing an earthquake!
“Are you serious?”
Morrigan wrinkled their nose, staring at the little bottle of sand the bag of wonders had produced; nearly identical to the first. How in the world was that going to help? Oh, well. They may as well drop it and see what happened! They threw the bottle to the ground, a second golem raising from the earth. Flanked by two sides, the ground trembling, the hydra was beginning to lose steam.
From above, Morrigan smirked in response to Javal’s cluelessness.
“Why, we get it to tear itself apart!”
At least, they were fairly certain that would work. Fifty percent. Okay, ten. But if there was nothing ventured, there would be nothing gained; and they had as good a chance as any!
“Just keep holding it…”
Javal and his apprentices sprung to action. Nadia Sadrine and the other two whose names Morrigan hadn’t learned slung attack after attack, while Javal himself unleashed a wave of fire-and-ice breath at the hydra. All the while, Morrigan hummed a Zainavian lullaby under their breath, tail swishing behind them while they pulled a potion from their bag, and a rather nondescript-looking box. The two were then tied together with a rope, and finished with a puff of glitter.
“Voila!” Morrigan held their creation aloft. “Behold, Morrigan Moonweaver’s Patented Hydra Hustler! Everyone stand back, now! Fire in the hole!”
They waited for the second that everyone would back away before pulling the string on their box, and dropping it to the ground.[1,2] In ten seconds, the explosive would go off, releasing a wave of shrapnel and breaking the potion which Morrigan had taped onto the bomb. A wicked green gas spread around the hydra, the monster breathing in the noxious gas.
Their eyes turned cloudy, mindless with rage -
And then they began to turn on one another. 1. Goblin Slag Bomb 2. Plague’s Pandemic

“Tear it apart? What do you mean by that Morrigan? If I can barely cut it apart with my blades what’re we supposed to do”, the cerulean fellblood responds still confused about what Morrigan meant, how were they supposed to defeat a foe that just simply regenerates with every head they cut off?
He shook the thought off he would leave the critical thinking and planning to Morrigan all he had to do was keep this thing busy.
“I can do that”, he yells at Morrigan as he charges forth ready to meet the hydra’s face straight on.
After firing off his elemental breaths back to back it took him a second to recover considering his throat felt like it was burning and then freezing. He then continues to do battle with the elder hydra this time with a different strategy. Instead of slashing the foul fiend with his blade, he’d use a sword technique Zala had taught him, he then whispered, “Javal Style: Keep Stabbing Until This Thing Dies”.
Javal then tossed his sword into the air and caught it, however, his hand was holding the blade by the grip. He then charges forward narrowly dodging bites and lows and starts stabbing the creature’s right side (1). The creature shrieks as he pierces its tough hide and tries to jerk around and catch the fellblood fellow but the ongoing earthquakes as well as Javal’s glacial floor keep it in place. Before he could try to stab the creature once more he heard his friend’s voice shout that their plan was ready and to get away.
He quickly turns around and sprints forward back to where Morrigan’s standing and breathes heavily, “I am here what was your plan?”, and before he could inquire further he turns back to see a loud boom happen at the monster’s head.
Immediately after, Javal became perplexed as a green gas surrounded the beast and it began fighting itself.
Javal couldn’t help but have a wide grin on his face as he turned to look at his companion, “Friend Morrigan, was that what you're ingenious doing? Why must I say I am completely shocked and impressed? Before it seemed like fighting the beast was going to take us a couple days but with the beast fighting amongst its heads we should be able to finish it in a flash".
He then turns back to look at the beast, a complete mess of a monster squirming and biting itself. Javal reaches into his backpack and pulls out a tool he hadn’t used since accidentally injuring Danae. Since that day, although forgiven by the powerful warrior, he still hadn’t forgotten it and was against using the weapon. However, at this moment he had no other choice. He steps back a few feet and holds the lightning spear in his hand he twists his body back and then throws the polearm at the hydra its form changing in mid-air into a lightning bolt (2) that crackles through the air and makes a direct hit to the monster’s neck.
"Guys this is your moment to give it everything you have", the fellblood yells and his subordinates follow with a light arrow, and an ice spike fly through the air.
