Raoul was holding both of the whips in his hands as hard as he could, holding the bear still wrapped in his weapons as he pulled at it with all his strength to get it closer to him. He was reaching a large peak of exhaustion that if Sylvari didn’t finish off the runebear soon he’d fall over. The grip of his hands was beginning to loosen as continued his binding; he hoped Syvlari would finish this up soon.
Raoul’s brow was filled with sweat as he continued pulling before glancing over at Sylvari as a large monstrous foul evil evil-looking abomination walked forward alongside her. He flinched for a second thinking perhaps this foul beast was another compatriot of the rune bear before flinching once more as it beat down and hacked apart the monster before spotting another undead creation. This time he glances over to see Sylvari determining that most likely this was done on her part.
“A Necromancer?”, he whispers, “Interesting”, before watching it get jumped by Sylvari and her undead goons.
He quickly snaps his whips, returning them to their original state as a wand and a regular-sized bladed whip. He tucked them back into his jacket pocket before he stepped back into the wall taking in a deep sigh to catch his breath for a second after such a hard battle, at least from his point of view holding the beast still.

Sylvari heaved a sigh of satisfaction, now that the fight was over. Still having sufficient binding, she pondered what to do with her undead servants. She decided that it would be best if the little group wasn't ambushed again.
"Go. Forge ahead and kill any creatures that attack." Sylvari was pleased to see her creations obey immediately, giving Raoul a wide berth at her mental orders. Saves me the awkwardness of commanding them while Raoul is around. If I'm lucky, maybe he won't ask. Sylvari eyed the corpse of the magic-resistant bear. Then again, luck hasn't been my strong suit.
With the absence of the bear, and Sylvari's undead minions, the Woolfuls were blessedly already returning to normal behavior, nosing once more at the moss of the cave. Sylvari turned to her partner, hoping his earlier charisma with the trapped Woolful wasn't a fluke.
"I don't suppose you have any livestock whispering powers still available to you, do you? I'm not exactly a shepherdess."
In fact, given the ambient dark arcana still roiling off Sylvari, the little creatures were actively edging away from the armored justiciar, cognizant of her stink of death.

Raoul heaved and took some breath leaning his back against the wall and sliding to the floor as he sat. His eyes glanced at the unholy creatures that had saved the day as they walked away into the snowfall outside. This was strange, he still had a sneaking suspicion that they were Sylvari’s doing, which he was thankful for. He took another sigh of relief before tucking his whips into his jacket pocket and looking around the room seeing that the woolfuls had calmed down and were just bumping wool with each other and playing, staying as far away from Sylvari as they could, which he did find interesting to note.
He then stands up and chuckles at Sylvari’s joke, “Well I’m not too sure Sylvi, maybe if I spoke their language?", He then made some indistinguishable noises of nonsense as a joke but that seemed to get the woolfuls attention causing them to surround him, almost knocking him over.
“Woah, easy there fellas let’s all just calm down and relax, alright?”, he says struggling to stand as the woolfuls push against his legs.
He smiles as he looks over to Sylvari, “Well my friend I guess we have that problem figured it out, for whatever weird reason these guys seem to like me”.

Sylvari looked at her partner with wide eyes and a cocked head as they animals tackled him in response to his strange language. I didn't sense any swelling of arcana, and that didn't sound like any incantation I've ever heard. Does he truly speak their language? Just when I think I have a grasp on this world, I see something like this and know there are always more mysteries to unravel.
Sylvari shook her head, forcing her confusion into a smile. "That is a most useful talent, Raoul. Perhaps you could teach the owner so he would be able to better have a handle of his herd."
Realizing the snow still fell outside the cavern, Sylvari quickly severed the sea arcana within herself to return the weather to its natural temperature. Immediately, the pervasive bone chill around the cave subsided and began to, slowly and surely, equalize to it's pre-magical ambient warmth.
"In any case, we should get these little ones back to allay the family's worries. I suppose there's two reasons for you to lead the way now." Sylvari smiled and stifled a chuckle. "I'll bring up the rear to safeguard against any further attacks."
Sylvari checked the cubbies of the cave one last time to assure herself there weren't any lingering Woolfuls and made herself ready to depart.

Raoul shrugged his shoulders with a smirk and shook his head, “I don’t think I can. I don’t even know what I’m doing here. For some reason these little critters just love me. I lived in this forest all my childhood until I was fourteen and left. Maybe they think I’m one with them”, he says pointing at his fluffy white hair, “I know this forest like the back of my hand, trust me I had to memorize every path every turn around here. If not I’d get caught by the townspeople and beaten up”, he says chuckling, not trying to focus on how serious it was.
He then looked over to the outside of the cave, the large snowfall outside begging to temper and calm as Sylvari took a moment to reconstitute herself. “Interesting”, he thought, “Does she have a connection to the sea domain? It would make sense considering the random snow out of nowhere”.
He nods his head and says, “Alright that sounds good, the quicker we get these little troublemakers back home the better. Thanks for your backup, after that fight I don’t think I could handle another one”, he says, feeling his body exhausted after all that pulling and pulling he did.
Sylvari checks one more time and finds nothing at least of note besides fish bones, some tree bark, and some weird necklace lying on the floor. After she takes a look and comes back Raoul walks outside the cave, the woolfuls all in a straight line following him.

Bringing up the rear of the strange line, Sylvari's thoughts were otherwise occupied with her servants. It was a strange feeling. It wasn't as if she could see through their eyes: she wasn't sure the creatures even had eyes. However, there was an omnipresent connection, like an empathic link that ignited whenever she or her minions were engaged in combat. Therefore, she knew from their scouting that no danger lied up ahead. She silently willed them on, wanting to keep them well out of the herd's, and Raoul's, sight and mind.
Sylvari didn't share her discovery of safety with Raoul. For one thing, she wasn't certain that a hulking undead brute would attract the same sort of predatory attention as a flock of vulnerable Woolfuls, and she wanted to keep his guard up. Additionally, the less he saw of them, and the fewer times she mentioned her servants, the less likelihood of him delving deeper into her possession of these powers. It was one thing for a person such as she, who grappled with the minutiae of righteousness on a daily basis to determine that powers born of dubious sources could be used for good, but it was harder for the general population to escape such mental frameworks.
The less reason I give Raoul, or anyone else for that matter, to question me, the more able I will be to pursue my mission earnestly.

Raoul led the weird line that he’d never be a part of a dhampir detective followed by about fifteen woolfuls and a knightly beauty, knowing that's a strange sight if he’d ever seen one. He didn’t mind it though the little guys were surprisingly attentive and organized, only bumping into the back of his legs a couple of times as they continued on their journey back home.
As he continued through he couldn’t help but have his mind wander as he proceeded thinking, “Today’s been a weird day, to say the least, helped Sylvi fight this weird bear dude, I’m pretty sure that she’s at least a sea domain user and have a sneaking suspicion she may have connections to the necromantic. However, that's none of my business so I’ll stay quiet for now”.
He broke his concentration as he passed by the site of his former origin, a large burnt area that was showing signs of overgrowth. It pained his heart to see the memories of his past overflowing his mind. He shook his head trying to get away from it and decided to distract himself with small talk, “You were pretty amazing out there Sylvi, I mean who just takes down an entire runebearer like that?”.
Soon they were already in sight of the old man’s farm on a hill; he'd remembered the general location from the flier’s information. Soon the group was in front of the wooded gate entrance as an old man sat asleep on the house porch ahead.

Sylvari trailed after Raoul and his little Woolful band, still feeling out the connection with her servants. Upon reaching a more familiar section of the woods, she severed the connection, feeling her minions crumbling away to dust at the end of their service.
The justiciar perked up at Raoul beginning to speak, even as she shifted into flippant body language to expertly deflect the praise. "Please, my dear, it wasn't as if I was all alone in the endeavor. Your hold on the creature was invaluable in lowering its defenses so I could strike effectively. Moreover, given their fierce reputation, I believe we must have fought one of the smaller specimens. It was rather vulnerable, all things considered. In any event, I shall simply thank the gods for good fortune and an able companion."
As the pair kept walking, she began to see the fence line marking their destination of the old farmer's homestead, and Sylvari breathed a sigh of relief. Between relying on Raoul's navigational skills all through this corridor and relying on his social graces to not discuss the testier aspects of repertoire, Sylvari felt a profound sense of weariness deep in her bones.
Soon we'll deliver the creatures, make the family's day, and I can release Raoul from this unspoken tension.

Raoul waited for a couple of minutes for the farmer to see and recognize his woolful herd but saw the man reply with nothing. He turned his head confused before hearing a loud snoring noise coming from him, he chuckled slightly.
“Hello there, hello, excuse me Mister Farmer'', he shouted, cupping his hands over his mouth to increase his shooting range.
The felderly farmer woke up in a hurry holding his pitchfork in an attacking position yelling, “Who goes there, you dare trespass on private property”, he lowered his weapon as he saw Raoul and Sylvari alongside his dear friends.
“Oh my goodness gracious just wait a second”, he exclaims as he rushes towards the gate unlatching it and letting it swing behind.
The woolfuls quickly flood the gates and make their way towards their home, a large comfortable-looking area.
Raoul waves his fluffy friends goodbye and focuses his attention back on the farmer, “Hello Sir, my name is Raoul, and here is my dear friend Sylvari, we both saw your poster and decided to help you out. We found one stuck in a bush and the rest made prisoners to some rune bear in a cave”.
The elderly fellow’s bifocals almost fall off his face in shock as he stutters, “Wh-what-it, runebearer, I-I’m so sorry for any problems that my little ones have caused you two youngsters”, he shakes his head before running into his house and coming out with two piles of solars.
“Please take this, it’s the least I can do for your troubles”, the farmer says, almost pushing them onto the adventurers.
“No, don’t worry friend. Seeing your little guys safe and back home is enough of a reward for me”, the dhampir says in all honesty.
After some more chit-chat, the mission is over and Raoul and Sylvari walk together out of the farm back into the forest talking on the way as the pass the delightful forest sights. They soon reach diverging road and he stands opposite Sylvari and turns around, “Well this is my stop here, seeya dear. It was a pleasure working with you. Hopefully we see each other around sometimes”, before walking away into the forest onto another adventure.
