Thunder cracked overhead as rain poured down. Aconite had wandered into a seemingly abandoned building. At least, the door was open and no one did anything when they walked in. It was eerily quiet, the floorboards creaking underfoot. All setting the scene for a not very pleasant atmosphere, but at least it wasn't horrible.
Aconite brushed their hair out of their eyes, which was dripping with water. The rain caught them by surprise, which wasn't a very fun way to spend the evening running around trying to find a good place to stay dry. Most of the stores were closed, with it being evening, and they weren't anywhere near the homes. They ruffled their hair, trying to get some of the water out and dry it a bit more. A few people slowly joined them in the building, seeking shelter from the rain.
As time kept going, more people joined them in the building. They mainly looked like your average person, except for one in exotic clothing and two people who looked like twins wearing the same outfit of blues. Otherwise, no one really stood out. The lights were dim as people lit candles that were placed around, the flames flickering gently. At least there were candles.
As people walked around, talking and wandering, the lights suddenly all went out. The candles stopped burning, and the few lanterns people had found were extinguished. A bunch of people froze and then immediately started questioning what happened. There was no wind or anything to put them all out, they just went out on their own.
Some candles lit back up on top of a balcony. It illuminated a figure, dressed in a red suit with a black tie and a top hat with a blood red ribbon tied around it. They held a cane in their right hand, made of dark wood. A shadow was over their face, obscuring their facial features. "Welcome, dear visitors!" Their voice rang out, although their mouth didn't move. "I'm so glad you chose to join our home today." All attention turned to them, and they smiled. "I am sorry to say, but by the end of the night, none of you will be going home. Unless, of course, you accept this as your new home." People froze in fear, silently listening. "Today, your pathetic lives will become better! One by one this night will end in defeat. Isn't that fun?" People stood there, dumbfounded. Even Aconite was caught off guard, confused by these words.
They all stood in silence for another moment before the strange person spoke again. "Now. I can tell you're all just a teensy bit confused. Let me explain." A grin passed over their face as they stepped forward, facial features still mostly shadowed. "Tonight is a great night where you all lose your lives for a good purpose." They waved their hand in the air, holding it up as they kept talking. "Tonight you may die, yes, but you will come to love your new home." Another pause. "You see, there are great problems around. I'm here to fix one of them. The parasites of this realm aren't the creatures you face, but you yourselves. And so, with the powers I have been given, I plan to rid this place of the parasites ever so slowly. And now, may you ready yourself, parasites, for the night is still young and we have much to do." The figure laughed and snapped their fingers. The candles went out for a moment, before all of them lit up. The person was gone. People started screaming and bolting for the door, but the door was locked and unable to open. They turned to the windows and started trying to open or smash them, but no luck. Aconite, knowing they could easily smash a window open, strode over to one and punched it. Their hand bounced off the window painfully. Well. That settles that. Aconite scowled and turned in a circle, looking around. They were trapped.
Most people came to that conclusion as well and started to cry or curl up and whimper sadly. Some were still looking for a way out or just looking around in general, and Aconite joined a group that was about to charge up the stairs and confront the person. They walked to the base of the stairs and started hurrying up them, splitting up into two groups and going down the different sides of the hallway.
The hallway, on each end, split into four different rooms. Aconite went into the furthest with another, and started searching. It was a study, filled with papers and different objects. A glass pen was set on the desk, over some papers. Things were scattered about, and Aconite set to searching with their partner.
There were a few things of note. One was one of those fancy masks you were to balls, another was a ring imprinted with initials, and a group of papers were describing the building as "unfit for living", whatever they meant by that. There was also many glass objects in the room, from paper weights to bowls, from jars to vases. And that glass pen. For some reason, Aconite's eyes kept getting drawn to it. Something about it seemed off.
Thunder cracked overhead again, and the lights went out for a moment. When the candles re-lit, Aconite saw their partner dead in front of the desk, the glass pen stabbed into their back. The paperweight on the desk was on the ground, shattered. Like it had been dropped from their hand. Quickly, Aconite left the room and went into the hallway.
Some others were standing there, looking around. Aconite walked up to them. Three others in total, each without their partner. They looked over to Aconite expectantly. "Partner died. You're all without one so I guess the same happened to you." Aconite commented. They all muttered their confirmations. Then one of them spoke up.
"You realize we have no way to prove we didn't just murder our partners!" They cried. Aconite sent a withering scowl to them. "You realize that we'd all have to have agreed on that and coordinated it." They grumbled back. The person paused, like they wanted to argue back, but didn't. "Great. Go back and meet with the other group, find out what they found." Everyone nodded and walked back to the stairs, where the other group was waiting. Eight of them originally, now only four. Aconite sighed. "Partners died?" They got confirming nods. "Same here. Go back downstairs, see if anyones calmed down, and figure out stuff."
They all quietly walked downstairs, finding everyone had calmed down. "Listen up!" Aconite commanded. "Looks like that weird guy was right. No more exploring yet." Everyone looked up at Aconite, and then past them. Aconite turned their head to see the person upstairs again. The group stepped back into the crowd and watched.
"Thank you, dear. I'm glad we got such a lively little group here!" The person laughed. "My, this night will be just so much fun!" Any interruptions anyone had were ignored. "Ah, but, introductions. I'm Allister, my friends. And tonight looks like we're having a great performance! This'll be the best show in ages." A flashy grin spread across their shadowed face. "I hope you enjoy our time together." Allister bowed, and then stepped back into the wall and vanished. A loud wail sounded from the back of the crowd, and everyone started panicking. Aconite went to a corner and started thinking. They had some weapons, if they could just get the person to fall for a trap. But Allister had the crowd in a panic, which made this all so much harder.
Aconite started to pace slightly, thinking furiously. They needed to talk with the other group and theirs, and so they set about to gather them all. After doing so, they started talking. "We need to share what we found in the rooms, maybe it'll help us. In mine there was a bunch of glass things, a ring, and tons of papers. It was a study." They informed, waiting to hear the other peoples information.

Javal had quite the skill for getting lost and ending up in the most random and adverse citations as a result of it. He initially got lost after wanting to look for a good place to set up his day out in the forest; he had planned to train and eat some picnic food that Meryl had made for him on his journey. As soon as the fellblood took a bite from his ham cheese and small sprinkles of sand, large amounts of rain appeared overhead and ruined his plans immediately. The fellblood cursed the sky above trying to finish his now wet and ruined sandwich before giving up and looking around for shelter to get through the storm. He saw a large abandoned-looking building and seeing as it was already opened decided to go in and spend the night.
He smiled in joy as he tried to close the doors behind him only to find that the find itself was against him. He pulled and walked on the doors to close them but the door swung open every time almost as if it was pushing against Javal to stay open. After a bit of waiting more and more people start swarming into the house. Javal is delighted as he feels a bit better having more people around than just him in this scary and cold feeling mansion. As he starts to talk to a random fellow the lights turn off and he gets alarmed and immediately places his right hand on his waistband ready to pull out his katana in case anyone tries anything fishy.
Javal was shocked and taken aback as suddenly a figure dressed in a well-made red suit appeared above them speaking about this being their new home. He was about to yell for them to explain themselves but as he blinked the room fell to darkness and the fellow disappeared as if they were never there. Javal quickly dashed forth and tried to cut down the door with his katana but to no avail as his slashes felt like they bent against the door itself. Javal quickly charged in front of Aconite to look for a solution he opened the first room and found a small lounge room filled with chairs and some envelopes he turned to face his partner to check what they had thought only to see them fall dead to the floor next to his feet.
He sighed in great disappointment, “Whoever you are I’m going to bring you to justice and free all of us from your wretched trap”,
Javal stood aside Aconite as they informed the rest of the party what they had seen. He quickly took out his katana as he saw the red evil man return as if to mock them.
Javal then took out the four pairs of letters he found on the comfy-looking chairs and gave them to Aconite for them to decipher.

Aconite took the letters and frowned at them. They pulled them open, reading the contents. One was a copy of the paper they had seen earlier, claiming this land unfit for living. Another was a news clipping about the death of a man in this mansion a few years ago. The third was signed with the same initials they saw on the ring, and the fourth had a business card in it. The business card stated a location, a name that was scratched out with only the initials showing, and the service offered. Ghost hunting? Aconite thought for a moment quietly, then passed the envelopes around. Everyone looked at them closely.
"Wait. Are these the same initials as on the ring?" The guy from before asked. Aconite nodded and realized they didn't bring anything down. "Did anyone else bring anything down?" Most people had, but two others didn't. "Alright. We'll go around, gather everything, and then go back up to get the rest of the stuff." The group nodded and began to give out their findings.
One person found a bunch of jewelry, most with the same initials on them. One person found a diary that was locked and wasn't opening, while another found a book about the nature of ghosts, written by the person with the initials. The last one produced a cloak. The cloak was made of the same blood red material that Allisters suit was made of, but had nothing else on it besides a little black bowtie on the front.
"Alright, well there we go." Aconite said after a pause. They turned around and pointed out two people from the crowd. "Hey, you both! You're coming with us to grab some stuff." The two paled, but with a glare from Aconite they nodded and stepped forwards.
Aconite led the four people up the stairs, the two who forgot to grab things taking one of the other people with them. Aconite went into their room alone, and gathered the ring, pen, papers, and the mask. On closer inspection, it showed to be the same color of the cloak with small jewels adorning it. The jewels were rubies, a deep red that was like the color of dried blood. Aconite, for some reason, pocketed the mask and decided to not mention it to the group. They hid in in the waist of their pants, which covered it easily with their large dark sweater. The ring, papers, and the odd pen were about to be taken from the room, when they turned around to see Allister standing there with a smile. Aconite's breath paused for a beat, before they narrowed their eyes.
"I see you found my mask. I quite loved it." Allister held up a hand to examine closely as they talked. "Its a shame to be locked up in here all the time. You see, I was once a widely known figure. Ghost hunting." They flashed a grin. "But, the job comes with dangers. Because, as I'm sure you know, ghosts can certainly be unfriendly." Aconites eyes widened and they stepped back slightly. God damn it, they know, how? Allister laughed. "Don't act so shocked." A malicious, cruel grin spread wider across their face. "I'm actually glad you came to visit me. Your little friend from all those years ago told me about you. He's been watching, you know." Aconites heart dropped. They weren't scared of much, but those words had always haunted them.
Suddenly, someone was banging on the door. Allister frowned slightly, before smiling again. "Well, looks like your friends need you. We'll talk again." The lights went out, and when they returned Allister was gone. The door flung open and only two people appeared, instead of four. The guy who had been annoying before and one of the random people they grabbed were gone. "They died!" One burst out, and Aconite drew in a breath. "Lights went out and they died. Tried to find you and the door was locked!" They explained. Aconite nodded and held out their evidence, save the mask. "Here. Did you get your stuff?" The two nodded and held out a bunch of forms and papers. "Good. Back downstairs."
Downstairs was in chaos. A couple bodies were on the floor and people were panicking. As Aconite started down the stairs, they barked out a command. "Shut up!" They yelled above the noise. People turned to them quickly and started bombarding them with questions. "I said shut up!" They snapped. "Two of us died and I can see some of you all did as well." Aconite pointed out some random person. "You! Tell me what happened."
They quickly explained that while the five went up, some spirits appeared out of the walls and grabbed the four that died. The four fell down in the same moment and weren't breathing or responding. Aconite sighed. For some reason, they were being turned into the stupid leader of these panicked people. Their ability to shout and not mind being rude seemed to calm these people a bit, and their ability to take control of this situation was helping.
"Put them in the corner. Once we make it out of here we can do something for them." They looked at the two who came upstairs with them, and the three pulled the bodies into the corner. They laid them down gently and Aconite turned to the crowd. "Alright, listen up. We're gonna stay down here unless I say otherwise. If you disagree, go ahead and do it. I do not care and I don't think the ghosts mind taking one extra. We're safer in a large group." Everyone nodded and Aconite paused to think. "If you wanna help us figure out our clues, come over there." They pointed to the other corner. "If not, just stay down here and wait." A few people went over, bringing the group total to ten. With the original four and the three that went up, three others joined the group.
"Explain the evidence you got, both of you." Aconite pointed at the other two who went up with them after they all gathered. They both held out the papers. "Forms, signatures, news articles, just lots of papers." Aconite nodded and added their papers to the pile they had made of the clues. As well as the pen and the ring. "This is what I found. The pen is important somehow, trust me." They got a few doubtful looks but everyone nodded again. Aconite frowned and stared at the pile of clues. For starters, there were the initials, K.H. Then there were the forms and signatures, talking about secretive things that didn't go into much detail. The pen and the ring. The business card and the cloak. All of it meant something, but what? And the mask they were hiding, why did they need to hide it?
Eventually, they shook their head. "I don't know how it all connects. Obviously, these initials mean something and the papers talk about secretive stuff." They looked around to the group and everyone shrugged. Aconite sighed. They excluded how Allister had talked to them, and the mask still. "I'll keep trying. Go and talk with others, see if they got any ideas." Mostly everyone left, a few hovered around but Aconite waved them off.
Somehow, they needed to get back upstairs and talk to Allister again. How would they do that? Aconite frowned and sat down, staring at the pile and trying to figure it out. They reached for their bag and put the clues inside, and quietly walked up to Javal, picking him out at random. "I'm going to another room to figure this out quietly. You're in charge." They said, and before Javal could respond they slipped away into another room and closed the door behind them, locking it. "Hey."

Javal stood by as Aconite took a look over the four envelopes and handed them to him and looked over them to read their contents, he turned his head in curiosity as he took in the new information, a claim that this land was unfit to live, the revelation that a man was killed in this very own mansion that did not bode well for them especially since people had already started dying around them. The other two were initials and a business card about a ghost-hunting business.
“We could use that ghost-hunting service right about now, perhaps they could help us with this whole situation”, Javal thought out loud.
Javal followed behind Aconite a bit confused as he looked around, what this red fellow’s deal was, he just sought safety against the storm but knowing what he had now he wished he stayed outside. However, he can’t change the past only helps to make the future brighter. Javal went into his assigned room and tried to scan to see anything he missed, he did spot a smell indented on the floor under the chairs and was about to report it back to the rest of the party when suddenly he heard a blood-curdling scream coming from downstairs.
He rushed out of his room and approached Aconite and the others leading the charge to escape this dreaded trap of a mansion.
“Hey guys I think I saw an indent in my room, that could be a way out? I picked up this newspaper clipping that was written in some language I can’t understand”, he then stayed with the group ready to free all of them from this nightmare hostel”.
He then turned to look at the spiderfolk fellow that approached him, “Alright, I’ll do my best to keep these fellows safe from harm”.

Aconite took a breath and turned around, seeing Allister leaning against the doorway. "Hey." They responded. Allister grinned, their teeth unusually white. "You wanted to see me." Aconite stated, and Allister nodded. "I did. Thanks for coming by." Aconite nodded, and was gestured towards a chair. "Sit, sit, we have things to discuss." Aconite hesitated, and seemingly sensing the hesitation Allister snapped their fingers. A chair came rushing forwards and hit Aconites legs, forcing them to sit down. "There we go."
Allister smiled at Aconite. "Well, lets get down to business." Aconite nodded. They held up a finger. "First! I must say, you're doing well out there. Leading them confidently and, honestly, admirably. Then leaving them all with another person? Smart thinking, kid." They paused to look at Aconite. "So, thank you for making this a fun show." Aconite narrowed their eyes. "Show, huh? Twisted type of show. I think you can-" Allister cut them off. "Nuh-uh, nope. I know its not a fun way to go for you, but its a marvelous way to go!" Aconite tried to speak up, but found their voice wasn't working. Allister laughed. "Now, hold on there, let me talk before you say anything." Aconite bit down their anger and nodded. Not like they had a choice.
"You see, I've been alone here for a long time. I'm getting bored and lonely. Its been many years since I've had this fun of a show. All of them were tests. I needed a friend to help me, and I think I've got the one now. You. Because, see, no one took charge of these situations, no one decided they weren't going to die. You, on the other hand, have rallied these people into thinking they have a chance. Now I get to see everyones perseverance. Their determination. Its a lively thing. And I love it." Allister grinned, savoring Aconites expression. "I'd like to make a deal, Aconite. Let me pop on into your mind, let me see this world again. My home hasn't been very lively for a while. Whenever theres rain, I'll come and wait. There'll be others. But I'm done with waiting. Its tiring."
Aconite sat there, still. They promised- no, swore, to never make another deal. They couldn't. Allister clucked their tongue. "Come now, think about it. You could be powerful. You could take revenge." Allister paused before adding yet another line. "You could save your parents." Aconite went rigid. "I've got plenty to offer. And I'm not asking for much. I just want a little room in your mind. Let me free of this prison and we'll do great things."
Hesitating, Aconite quickly thought about it. Why were they thinking about it? They couldn't just do that.
Outside, a scream could be heard. Ghosts were entering the main room and swarming around, forcing everyone into a circle. They spun around, circling the other circle. People started screaming louder as the ghosts slowly got closer. Ghastly groans and terrifying noises came from the ghosts, getting louder and louder.
"Well? What'll it be, Aconite?"
Aconite sat there, still, as they listened to the panic outside the room and stared at Allister. Allister extended their hand to shake.
"I can't." Aconite shook their head and lowered Allisters hand. Not forcefully enough to be believable. Allister just grinned. "I'll let you think about it." And with that, the lights went out and the sounds of a door opening and closing again could be heard.
And the sound of a lock being turned, making Aconite stuck inside.

Javal looked around wildly as Aconite left upstairs to handle their investigation of the situation, at least that’s what he thought the spiderfolk fellow was up to. They had seemed to take charge of leading the effort to escape so Javal thought it was best to leave to connect some of the evidence that they’d found. Javal would do what he did best, guarding people as much as he could. He first started jogging around the perimeter looking for any possible ways to get out. Everything from the doors to the windows was unopenable for some strange reason. No matter how hard the fellblood pushed, pulled, or even tried breaking the exits were seemingly blocked off by some strange power, most likely that red demon fellow they’d seen earlier.
“Why if I saw that fellow again right now I’m sure I’d try to beat them up and defeat them to get them to let us out”.
Javal quickly ran back to the foyer area of the mansion where most of the people were crowded together, currently screaming their heads off as ghosts swarmed the room circling the living, driving them into a huddle.
“Ghost fellows stop this nonsense at once”, Javal said waving his sword at them, “Step away from the living for me please. These are nice and innocent people who do not deserve your malicious efforts to haunt them”.

The ghosts ignored Javal, continuing to circle the terrified crowd. Getting closer and closer, until they stopped a few feet away. The lights went out, signaling the arrival of Allister. Once the lights came back on, they were standing on the balcony overlooking the crowd. Allister waved to everyone with a small grin.
"Hello, hello. It is ever so great to see you again! I'm sure you're wondering whats exactly about to happen. Well, I've decided something. You all may live, but only with a dance." Allister smiled and snapped their fingers. "Those who survive our dance may be released in the morning. Those who don't... you'll see what happens." They laughed and tapped their foot on the ground a couple times, as if mimicking a beat. Music started up for a waltz, and the ghosts approached the crowd.
There was one ghost for every person. Each ghost grabbed someone and started to dance. A few people, panicked, started to run only to have a dagger flung into them. That was enough motivation for the rest to do the waltz. While the ghosts helped people along to the music, a few took some wrong steps and more daggers were thrown at them. All the daggers hit their target and made the people fall to the ground. Some were tripping over the dead people and were killed. If this kept up for too long, no one would manage to live. Anyone taking a wrong step died, and the more who did die would be in the way of the living.
Allister was watching closely, always with a dagger in hand. Any misstep and the dagger was thrown. They still had that grin on their face as they watched, enjoying this show. This was the best thing they'd seen! In all of these few months they'd been allowing people into the mansion... Never had they seen such a good performance! Sure, they lied to Aconite about how long they'd been here, but it was needed to convince them. Such a stubborn kid. It's fun to watch them.
It was truly amazing to watch this dance. Allister, before they had died, loved these dances. They always held the most amazing parties with extraordinary dances. The parties were longed for, and those invited were envied. Allister loved it that way, having only the best of the best joining.
Although there was the party to end it all. Someone slipped in and poisoned them. They collapsed in the middle of one of their dances, sipping some wine, and everyone panicked and left. No one returned to the mansion for many years. During that time, they were totally alone with their thoughts.
They wanted- no, needed, company. It was painful to be alone after all the time they spent surrounded by others. So, when the man entered their home, they jumped at the chance to talk with someone. They appeared and they both had a nice chat, and when the man went to leave he said he'd return. Allister was thrilled. Finally, some company!
He returned the next day, and the day after that. They'd, at first, talk about Allister and their parties. Then, the mansion and its history. Then conversation finally turned to the man. He introduced himself with a name and explained he was looking for a place to live. He was a Mephit, and was watching someone. While he watched them, he wanted a place to stay. This seemed like a perfect place to go. Allister was fascinated, and agreed to let him stay. But they wanted to be able to throw their parties again, and maybe he could help. The man agreed, he could help for being allowed to stay.
On stormy days, people would be drawn to the mansion. Once a sizeable group was gathered, the party could commence. Allister twisted it with the man, turning it into a death trap. Allister, after a couple parties, decided they wanted to make a deal with someone. Let them see the world and throw these parties for everyone. The man helped them with that, but no one was deemed worthy enough for them to be with. They were picky about it all.
But now? They had a great group here. The man was watching from all the shadows, and he approved of them all. Allister only took a special interest in Aconite because he recognized them. Which was why Allister locked Aconite into that room, until the dance was over. They wanted the kid alive, just to see how they acted a little more.
Aconite, meanwhile, was still in the chair staring at the door. The lights hadn't come back on yet, and they had the feeling they were being watched. They were concentrating hard, and not bothering to get up even though they felt like they could. Waiting. The person in the room was waiting as well. Both waiting for the other to talk first.
The dance continued outside the room.

Javal had enough of the ghosts ignoring him and quickly ran backwards standing in front of the circle of people waving his sword at them in an attempt to scare them off. He looked around noticing the slashes and swings of his blade just went through these ghosts and he grit his teeth at the realization that he truly had nothing in his arsenal to deal with ghosts. Usually, the fellblood counted on his enemies being fair in battle or at least being able to touch them and count on corporals.
His eyes grew wide as he looked around shocked as he saw the lights in the room go out and glared at the red fellow with a grin.
He stood by holding his blade up at the fellow as they spoke, “A dance? A dance is the thing that will decide whether we live or die. Although I am a good enough dancer this isn’t fair, this isn’t some sort of game. People are dying and their lives are on the line, what does this mad fellow have in mind, what’s their goal”, he thought to himself.
Suddenly he felt his wrist get grabbed tightly and himself placed in the leading position of the waltz as he glanced at his partner a ghostly apparition whose figure he couldn’t make out except for their translucent appearance.
He looked around as he began leading the two through the ballroom, people were already dying like flies, “What sort of madness is this?”, the fellblood wondered.
He glared at the red fellow as he and his ghostly partner made their way to the center of the floor with only a couple of dancer partners left who were able to save themselves through dance.

Aconite could hear the people falling from inside the room. They grit their teeth and clenched the armrests of the chair, speaking up. "I know you're in here. Turn the lights on and face me." No one did anything. Aconite scowled, they knew someone was in here. The person just needed a reason to show themselves, apparently. They had to think.
Allister, meanwhile, clapped their hands. The ghosts suddenly released the tired people, and melted into the walls. "Well. That was fun, wasn't it dears?" They laughed and tapped their foot slightly. Certain objects in the room started shaking slightly. Allister pointed the end of their cane at Javal, grinning.
"You! You seem qualified to protect people, hm?" The items that were shaking began to look ready to jump towards the small group. Without waiting for a response, they clapped their hands together. The items suddenly opened up to reveal jaws with large teeth, and they began to attack the small group that were still left alive.
With a bow, Allister stood onto the balcony rails and began a speech. "I am ridding this world of pests one by one. Today, we see who of you are worthy to live another day. Your death is not in vain; it is a glorious gift. You shall join the show and join a great cause. We both sincerely hope you'll enjoy your eternity here. Accept this with love and joy, for one day you to shall join the afterlife. Let it be with grace and thrill!" They swept their hand forward, tapping their cane on the rail they stood on. "Lets hope you have fun with the rest of your little lives left." Allister laughed and leapt from the railings, but vanished into a puff of smoke right before they hit the floor.
They had called for Allister. Aconite tried threatening the person in the room with them to reveal themselves. That was it though, they were too proud to try anything like pleading for them to show themselves. Eventually, Aconite just gave up and called for Allister, seeing that they could talk incredibly easily. Aconite knew there was someone in there. They could differentiate between imagined and real stares at this point.
Allister came, tapping their cane on the ground and making the candles relight. "You called?" They grinned at Aconite, sensing a victory. Pulling out a chair, they sat down in front of the door and across from Aconite. "Yeah. I did." Aconite took a breath. "I don't want to accept your stupid deal." "But?" "But, I want whoever's still alive to keep being alive. So, if you let the rest of them go..." Aconite frowned and hesitated. "We could keep talking about a possible deal."
There was no response for a moment. Then, Allister nodded. "You'll accept the deal someday. But I'll let you do it on your own terms." Allister stood. "I'll open the doors, but you might want to get an explanation for your random disappearance, hm?"
The mimics stopped their attack, however many were left just halted. The sound of the doors unlocking could be heard, as Allister appeared on the balcony again. "I must say, that was a splendid night! I hope you all enjoyed this as much as I did." A wide grin spread across their face. "But now, its time for the party to come to an end. Go ahead and go right through those doors, you'll emerge safe and sound. Ta-ta for now, dears!"
Allister jumped from the balcony and handed an envelope to Javal, before walking away quickly. They gave a wave over their shoulder, before disappearing down a hall that was a dead end with no doors. But, checking to see if Allister was there, you'd just find the walls staring back at you.
Aconite was handed a similar envelope and left the room, heading into the main area and towards the door. Finally. Time to get the hell out of here.

Javal shook his head at Allister as the red fellow clapped and released the people from their ghost dance partners.
“I may have found it fun but this must come to an end”, he thought as he listened to Allister speak, “Perfect at least those ghosts are out of the way, I wouldn’t even know how to go about fighting them if need be”, the fellblood thought to himself.
He then glared at Allister as they pointed their cane at him, “That’s true I’ll give it my everything and even past that to protect as many people from your ‘games’ at all cost”, he then turned his eyes at the shaking items ready to shield the people who were backing up into each other acting as a circle.
“The world is beautiful and great. As a red fellow, there is no need to take out its people and perhaps you should stop being a maniac killer and be a nice guy instead. I swear that I won’t let you take another person from this world again”.
“Mimics, crap you darn bastard”, Javal shouted as he waved his sword around drawing off the mimics from a full frontal assault and looking at the cloud of smoke that bellowed from where Allister had left.
He charged forth swinging his sword and cutting into some of the mimics who were attacking, taking a couple of them down before for whatever reason it appears that all of them suddenly stopped. He walked forward and looked at the mimics as they were frozen in place he touched one and knocked it to the floor before turning his head in confusion. Right then the doors in front of the survivors opened and everyone poured out as fast as they could, Javal himself sighed and began picking up the deceased’s bodies to give their families proper closure. As he finished hosting one over his back he saw Allister suddenly hand him an envelope. He looked disgusted. What the heck could this even be? After hoisting all of them on his back and carrying them outside he looked over as everyone including Aconite left. The nightmare was finally over and he felt horrible, he couldn’t save those people who passed but he put on a brave smile looking forward to the future.

Aconite stepped outside. It was the middle of the night now, and most people who stepped outside hurried away towards their homes. A few looked sick and looked around, lost. Who knew what people had lost today. Aconite stood outside the mansion to catch their breath, hand held over their dagger. What the hell was that idiot on about? Aconite pressed their lips into a line and crossed their arms, staring at the ground.
They were struggling to believe this wasn't some messed up nightmare, but it all was sickeningly real. Somehow, Allister had managed to kill a large group of people in hardly any time, and left few survivors. How'd this whole thing even happen? It felt like those few hours ago where they entered the building was ages ago. Time was weird. With a deep breath, Aconite sat down and watched everyone slowly move away. Very few people stayed for anything longer than a couple minutes. Aconite felt they should leave as well, but they stayed rooted to their spot. Something told them to stay here, stay within distance for now. I'm not going back in, what the hell am I staying for? Aconite frowned and remembered the envelope. Pulling it out, it looked like an invitation. It was decorated and fancy, the type of invitation for some sort of big party. Aconite scowled. They wouldn't be going back, but they read it anyways.
"You are invited to Allisters party! Please gather at the location you were given this envelope and wear formal attire. You have two days to get ready before the party officially starts We'll be glad to see you attending."
That was it. Nothing else on it, not on the back of the card or the envelope itself. Aconite put the envelope away and kept scowling. Their mind was working hard, trying to figure this whole mess out. Who Allister was, or what they were, and what the whole deal was with this place. I'm not coming back, this isn't my problem. With a grunt, they banished the thoughts from their mind. Aconite wasn't going to keep thinking about this. They just needed a moment and could go on their merry way. Aconite didn't care. Then why were they thinking so hard on this? Doesn't matter! Just keep moving and don't look back. They had a sinking feeling in their gut, telling them this wasn't the end of the whole thing. Aconite stood back up, brushed their pants off, and looked around. There were only a couple others left around now, and they were starting to leave. Aconite figured they should join this and head on out, find a place to gather their thoughts.

Javal held onto the deceased bodies on his back with the help of a handful of mournful survivors. Every kind of stay in silence with the occasional mournful scream or crying fit.
Javal himself just felt sad and disappointed in himself right now, “I was the one who was supposed to protect them against any threat that fellow threw at us and I failed. I failed them and now several are lifeless without a choice in following their futures or dreams. I didn’t even beat the red bastard myself, only escaping through the grits of our teeth. I’m pathetic, I need to get stronger if I’m going to face such particularly tricky and powerful opponents”, he pondered to himself as he walked.
He tucked the envelope into his pants pocket and glanced over to Aconite as they joined the group’s escape. After about an hour or so of walking in a straight line, they reached civilization, Sky Peak Village. The group all dropped to their knees in relief and mourned all at once hollering and shouting filling the streets as they went to their nearest family with news of the killings. Javal himself laid the dead in the middle of the street in respect and waited for the families to deal with this themselves, feeling his part in this was done. He looked to the horizon and then to the bodies of the innocent that were gone.
He stared before getting up and walking out of town determined to not let this tragedy happen ever again.
