At certain moments, certain days, Azalea has so many questions about the existence of life, of herself, and of the world around her. This particular time, she was at an inn, in the center of the capitol of her country. She wasn’t even sure how she had gotten here. Izzy was off somewhere, leaving Lea to her devices. Most of the time when left alone, she would go visit her family, back around the Oasis. But she didn’t feel like it today. As she sat against the wall of the bar, her legs hugged to her chest, she watched the people surrounding her.
All of them were so interesting. From people there, meeting friends, to those who were alone. Everyone also seemed to leave her alone, for the most part, if not just to excuse themselves for getting into Azalea’s space as they walked by. She was left alone by herself, humming to herself as she questioned existence.

C’Leena has been walking around town for quite some time, seeing what there is to see and whatnot. Now, she stands outside of an actual tavern. She was excited to see what goes on inside beside the obvious.
Walking inside, she’s greeted with what she would expect from a shoddy bar. Tables scattered around, filled with people, drunken shouts and talk, and the clatters of wooden mugs. It’s perfect.
Standing at the door, sweeping her eyes over everyone is C’Leena. A 6’ Woman with bronze skin, short, curly black hair and aquamarine crystalline eyes that seem to faintly glow, even in this lighting.
Her eyes come across a fireplace and C’Leena takes an involuntary step back, quickly breaking her eyes away from the flame. She looks over the people. The mish mash of different races is still jarring to her, but for the most part she’s gotten used to seeing elves, dwarves and various other races around.
Walking up to the bar, she sits down, has a quick conversation with the barkeep and buys.. Something? She’s not entirely sure what but it’s good so she’s not complaining. She begins simply trying to listen to the various conversations going on around her. It’s frankly difficult to do, so she stops and looks around briefly, finally noticing someone she initially didn’t.
Noticing the woman sitting with her knees up and frankly beautiful hair, she finishes off her drink and walks over.
“Afternoon, miss. I’m C’Leena, mind if I sit with you?” she asks, a smile on her face. Now that she is up close, there are a number of details made obvious
First of all, there appears to be some rather bad burn scarring around her eyes and shoulders. With her shoulders, the scars simply stop, forming a perfect line between scarred flesh and healthy skin. Second, she seems like she smiles very often. Her face just seems made for it in a way, and finally, she moves with a certain grace that seems almost unnatural.
She stands there and eagerly awaits a response.

Azalea seems to be in her own little world. Truly, that was not an unusual thing for her. So, when someone approaches her, she does not seem to notice at first. Not until she feels the bearing presence, and finally deigns to look up - Which didn’t take long. Still, Azalea seemed a little embarrassed. “Y-you’re talkin’ to me?” She mumbles, pointing at herself. “Uh– S-sure.” She stumbles along her words as she gestures for the woman to join her. “I haven’t seen you around before… Are you new?” She asks, brushing her hair to the side.
Shoot, Azalea was always so awkward in these situations. It was something her family, including Izzy, had always tried to break her of, but she was just a kid and it clearly showed in her interactions with other people. Oh, did she ever introduce herself? “Oh shoot. My name’s Azalea. Hi!” She adds, with a grin.

C'Leena tried - and failed to surpress a chuckle from the womans flustered response. She pulled a chair opposite Azalea and sat down, interlacing her fingers and resting her forearms on the table.
"Thank you, Azalea, It's nice to meet you. I hope I'm not intruding or anything." C'Leena says with a smile. "To answer your question, yes, I am new here. Newer than people assume, actually."
Now that she's speaking more, her accent isn't one you can place. It's not crude, but not refined like you'd hear from the Capital. Her mannerisms aren't fluid when she talks, as if she's forcing herself to be more formal and polite than she's used to. It doesn't take a genius to see that she Really isn't from around here.
"I noticed you a hot second ago and I really like whats going on with your hair. And- Oh my god your eyes! God they're so cool! You're putting my own eyes to shame here and you're not even trying!" she laughs and freezes up for a second.
"Wait was that rude? I'm sorry if I said something wrong, just everything is so new to me!" She idly rubs the back of her neck as she talks. You feel like she's diverted her eyes to the table, despite the fact that you really can't tell due to the lack of any pupils or irises.
"Wait, shit, did I introduce myself? Eh, whatever. I'm Dr. C'Leena Thomas. If I already said this, well you get to hear it again." she chuckles to herself, extending a hand to Azalea. She is internally screaming to stop buggering up so badly.

“Doctor?” She replies, tilting her head slightly. “What’s a doctor doin’ here in this place? Not exactly a place for someone with such a place in the world…” Interesting, Azalea thought to herself. Doctors were rarely seen here in the Refuge, according to Izzy. Unless someone was hurt, or it was a witch doctor of some sort… But this girl was far too clean to be one of those. “Are you like a medical doctor or what?”
As for her appearance, Azalea sort of brushed her hand through her slightly unkempt hair. She was used to people treating her like a sort of window display. Staring, pointing. Nobody really ever complimented her though. “Oh, no! You’re fine! You’re okay. I know my appearance isn’t quite… normal.” She chuckles. “My parents think I’m like, part elemental. But they’re not sure where I came from.”

"An elemental? Hm, I'm not well versed in elementals but I wouldn't say it's impossible. Embrace that shit! You rock the look."
C'Leena chuckles. "Yes, a medical doctor. I specialize in the Non-magical side of medicine, however. That's not to say I don't know healing magic - which is still wild to me. Nah, I used to make fake limbs for people who lost arms or legs in accidents or whatever other reason," She smiles. She seems quite enthusiastic about her job, gesturing and speaking with a smile on her face.
"Still trying to figure out how to do that here, though. With time, I hope. To answer why I'm here, well I've been travelling with someone. Her and I are wanderers, her more so than I. So after her and I met, we just kind of took off, I suppose." She seems to hold quite the opinion of her wandering partner, as her smile widens and she lightly bounces in her chair.
"Mind if I ask why you are here? You're not waiting for somebody, are you?" She asks curiously, again, the feeling of her making eye contact etches into your mind. She leans back in her chair crosses her arms. The tone of her voice that suggested that she was forcing her language vanishes.
It's made painfully obvious that there is so much more than meets the eye with C'Leena. Sentences here, words there that mean nothing or raise questions. C'Leena feels like she's going to enjoy this conversation.

“You do… What?” Azalea asked, a little dumb struck. “You give people… New Limbs?” The concept to her was a little shocking. “Non-medical doctor?” This was absolutely blowing Azalea’s mind. “Oh there’s so much I need to learn about the world,” She sighs, shaking her head. “Where are you from that you can make new limbs for people? What other things can you do? Can you bring people back to life?” She GASPS loudly, jumping in her seat a little. “ARE YOU A…” She leans in a little closer, and speaks in a lower tone. “Are you a….” She leans in more, and speaks in a loud whisper. “Necromancer?!”
It was almost conspiratorial, how she had said it. But Azalea had never met a necromancer before. Were they normal in other places? She was entirely unsure. But when the woman had asked Azalea about herself, she sat back down in a normal fashion, and sighed. “No! I’m just… Homesick. But not homesick. I live here with my mentor, and I live at one of the very super small villages off the Oasis, but…. Whenever I go home, it just becomes a mess and I either don’t ever wanna leave, or never wanna go back… But I miss my family. Ya know?”

C'Leena can't say it wasn't both surprising and hysterical that she has been accused to be a Necromancer. It takes her entire focus and willpower to not break out in a fit of laughter. She lets out a snicker, instead.
"Can't say I've been called a Necromancer before. No, no I'm not. I make fake limbs, made out of non-biological materials such as steel and whatnot. For instance:" Her eyes flash for a moment, before both her arms just lose their skin. Below the illusory skin are arms of steel, layered with inscriptions that faintly glow the came Aquamarine of her eyes.
"So, no raising of dead bodies here. However technically speaking, I can bring people back from the dead, although it's a finicky thing, and entirely not my job. That would be the job of a Nurse or general doctor. I'm a Prosthetist, so I don't really focus on treating the sick, despite me knowing how."
"As for where I'm from? You probably wouldn't believe me if I told you," she says with a wry smile. The illusory skin ripples down from her shoulders, covering her prosthetics once again.
"I get the homesickness. Honestly, I'm much the same. I want nothing more than to go home, but that's an impossibility; at least right now." She shrugs.
"You said you had a mentor? What're you learning from him?"

Azalea was simply shocked.”Pros-det-icks?” She repeats. That word. ‘Prosthetics.’ She’s never heard it before. But she’s enchanted by the arm, and reaches out to touch it. “Oh my Gosh this is so COOL!” She exclaims, in a bit of a whisper-yell. “How does it work? CLEARLY it’s some sort of magic, but… How? Like, do you animate the non-organic material…?” Oh it was just fascinating to her.
“Oh, she’s teaching me to be a private investigator! But to be really honest with you, I’m not very good at it! I am a very curious person, and I am pretty smart, but I’m not the best with people, you know? Izzy is so dramatic and larger than life and I’m just… I don’t know why people act the way they act. So that’s what I’m learning from her! How to read people, basically!” Azalea shrugs. “There’s a lot more I wanna learn. Like information gathering. I have a friend who knows how to do that really well, and she’s also very good with people, so I can learn a lot from her too! It’s very much a process, though. It definitely keeps my mind off of home.”

"Pros-TH-etics, dal," she corrects with a smile. C'Leena extends her hand to let Azalea feel it. It's cold to the touch, and the steel is heavily inscribed and covered with grooves that seem to pulse a faint aquamarine, as if it were beating in time with her heart.
"As for how it works, you see these lines here? These inscriptions bind the limb to me and are able to receive commands from my brain to move, just like how your arm would move if you wanted it to. Essentially, your brain sends out electrical signals to parts of your body, which are received by the muscles and move accordingly. Seeing as how I completely lack muscles, the inscriptions receive the signals instead, and move the limb," she explains with a large amount of enthusiasm. She really seems to enjoy talking about this.
"Back home, however? We didn't use magic, period. So it was much more difficult to do all this, and I couldn't even begin to explain the details of it without most of the terminology flying over your head." She laughs before taking her arm back.
A private investigator, though? Now that was interesting. Reading people was definitely an important skill to have, and can be quite a fun skill to use; at least to C'Leena.
"Private Investigator, huh? That is impressive! How's it going for you, by the way? It sounds like it's quite difficult, but you seem to be enjoying it." C'Leena leans back and crosses her arms, content to listen to what Azalea has to say. She's always believed herself to be a far better listener than speaker, anyway.

“Pros-THEH-tics.” She repeated, the word leaving a weird feeling in her mouth. She bit her tongue alittle to get rid of the feel, and then nods. “Weird,” She finally responds. “So… it IS magic. At least a little, right?” She runs her fingers over the inscryptions before pulling back. “Sorry, am I being weird?” She asked. Azalea just suddenly seemed hyper-aware of how weird it was to essentially pet someone’s arm. SHe cleared her throat, and clasped her hands in front of her.
“I’m… Not very good at reading people. But, I’m learning. I think I just need to find the right way to learn.” She shrugs. “I do my best, though!”

"Nono, you're cool! People get curious all the time; it's no biggie. But yes, here it's extremely magical. Wasn't before, but now it is." she shrugs.
"While I have no experience with being a Private Investigator, I do have experience with getting a bead on people. Body language always reveals what peoples true intentions are. There are very few exceptions to that rule. For the majority of people, however, body language speaks the mind."
C'Leena looks around and her eyes snag on a particular individual. Male, middle age Human with tan skin and short brown hair which appears to be in a mess. They have their hands in their pockets, are slightly slouched and are looking around constantly. Their clothes are dirty and disheveled, and they don't look like they take care of themselves whatsoever.
C'Leena recognizes it as somebody who likely just got done doing something either scummy or illegal and they know it. The lack of self-care shows either a poor lifestyle (such as drug usage or something of the sort) or poverty; both of which would be good motivators for criminal activity. They could also be expecting someone and are nervous about the meeting.
"Here, have a look at that guy; brown hair, crappy clothes, hunched over." She describes and looks back at Azalea. "Take a look at him, don't let him see you staring; he might panic. Tell me what you can read off him. Whats his posture tell you? Do you think he's moving too much or not enough? Whats his facial features tell you?" she prompts with a smile. She leans forward on her forearms again and awaits her verdict. "Trust your gut. What do you think?"

Azalea glanced back - a quick glance. Just enough to get some information. “He’s waiting for someone. Probably a contact.” She shrugs. “Definitely shady. But that’s easy to tell. He’s moving too much, he’s… Jumpy.” She frowns. Now her curiosity is showing, and she tries to gather another glance at him. This time, she looked a little too long, but thankfully, all she got was a dirty look.
Azalea looked away. “Things like that are easy to tell. He’s clearly done something bad. But sometimes people are better at hiding things like that - And I am not very good at talking to people to figure out what it is. Ya know?”
“A lot of the people Izzy knows are very… Secretive, and very good at hiding it. I can’t read them at all” She adds with a frown

"Some people are incredibly difficult to read, absolutely. Practice makes perfect, however. Soon enough, you'll pick up on the subtle stuff that tells you what you need to know. Again, everyone has their tells." She shrugs. "Also, you're still learning. You can't expect to be able to get a bead on absolutely everyone; it'll take time. Starting with obvious crap like that bloke," She points a thumb toward the suspicious person. The man is now talking with somebody in hushed whispers that are completely drowned out by the crowd. They exchange items hidden in palms and both leave the tavern.
"Because you knew the guy was doing something shady, if you were a town guard or a police officer - I don't know if you guys have police -, that would've been appropriate suspicion, and blatant evidence for 2 people. Not everyone can read people like you or I, so be happy with your progress." she says with a smile.
"It sounds like your friend knows a lot of people in high places. I wouldn't worry about trying with them. Again, you're still learning. Eventually, however? You'll read them like an open book. I'd call myself pretty decent at reading people. I've had to learn because people kept hiding shit from me during doctors consults for some reason." She sighs and rubs her eyes.
"Is there anything else you're learning to become a private investigator?" she asks, obviously intrigued by the subject.

You know, despite everything, Azalea remembers in moments like this why she enjoys the work she’s doing. She smiles sweetly at C’leena, and proudly nods. “It’s something I’m working on, but Izzy likes to do this thing where she is like… The biggest person in the room…. Which to be fair, she usually is. But its the energy, you know? The improvisation, the ability to convince people to tell you what you want…” She sighs, frowning for a moment. “I’m not very good at that yet. But I’m sure from watching her enough, I’ll be able to learn it.”
Azalea shrugs. “It’s like acting, right? I’m very good at talking to people, but I’ve come to realize that people will never spill any of the information you need if you just ask. Information is a necessity. While I’m very good at watching and observing, and picking up on little details… I don’t know how to use those details yet. But I’m learning faster than not, so I think it’ll work out!” Lots of words to basically describe blackmail.
“I keep talking about myself though. I’m still interested in you. You seem… Lost. Like you don’t belong here. Which I get that feeling. Truly I do. So what’s up with that?”
