Javal looked forward facing down the calamity’s sudden tornado attack, he quickly stomped on the floor changing his sandals into rooted boots which grounded him to the ground and not moving him from his position within range of her.
He then opened his mouth sending a large frost breath attack at her aiming for her feet as he sees Cyran’s series of attacks.
His eyes go wide as he sees Cyran get stabbed in his thigh he yells, “No", and charges at the calamity aiming at her frozen right leg he crashes into it and pushes her unbalancing her already busy with Cyran still on her and she falls to the floor scrambling to get up.
Javal begins opening his mouth and freezing the floor under her causing her to struggle to get back up but she manages to use Javal as a stepping stone to hop over the affected space pushing him into the ground.
She growls in pain screaming, “You think you sinners are something well your nothing all you are are some ants to me. I’ve had my power increased by the strength of my worship. You think some little ants could take me down”.
He is stuck for a moment before using his katana to pull himself out and once more charge at the calamity jumping into the air and slashing the beast in the chest.

Cyran hissed between clenched teeth at the steel of a spear tip drove into the skin of his thigh, electricity burning through his clothes and into muscle, making it difficult for him to feel the wound aside from the intense burning sensation. Even worse than the pain, though, was the lack of mobility. He wrapped a hand around the wooden shaft of the spear, wrenching it out of his skin and diving backwards as he clutched at his leg. The tigress swiped her claws at him to prevent him from escaping, but Javal jumped in first, stabbing the calamity in the chest.
Cyran gripped at his leg, panting. He was running on fumes now, running low on energy and magical stamina. And now with this injury…
Something had to give.
“Hold her attention!” Cyran called, straightening to his full height and holding his hand in the air, finger extended outwards. While Javal continued to fight, Cyran started scribbling arcane words in the shadows of the air, a spell he learned some months ago. A spell designed to kill the very gods. It would have to work on a demon, as well.
He didn’t have much left in him. This had to work. Preparing Scern's Godkiller

Javal jumped back onto the calamity and held on to his sword that was impaled into the feline of thunder.
He gritted his teeth determined to hold her attention like Cyran ordered the feline to try to shake him off and do anything she could to get him to let go.
She manages to toss him down but he just springs back up and charges at her once again.
The calamity and Javal almost appear like they're dancing. When Javal strikes the calamity strikes back they are going blow for blow.
He jumps into the air and slashes, aiming for the beast’s hand to have her let go of her spear; he quickly feels his body get electrified but he pushes through it determined to defeat the beast here and now without losing anything else.
Nadia pulls back her bow and fires another arrow of light from her vantage point atop a spire.
He was successful with his attack and jumps back to give himself a small chance to take a breath and the calamity reels to the floor as her hand falls to the ground.
She is completely vulnerable looking for her severed hand when Javal yells out, “Cyran if you’re gonna do something you better do it now while she's distracted".

A bead of sweat gathered on his brow as Cyran traced in the air with his finger the series of complicated runes and sigils that made up the spell Scern had once designed to slay the gods. He’d learnt it after Scern’s capture, thinking it a useful piece of magic to know. The incident in the Arid Mesa was a sobering reminder that there would be times when such power was necessary to check a threat that was too powerful to be contained by mortal prisons or slain by mortal blades. Unfortunately, this was just another instance that made him glad he’d taken the time to learn the spell. And unfortunately, it was a spell that required great concentration and energy to prepare. Cyran stuck to the back, shadows growing around him like a miasma while Javal held off the Calamity as steel and skyfire went toe to toe. He fought ferociously, determined to gain some kind of favor in the battle, tip the scales so that the tide may flow in their direction. But it would not last for long. He tried one last gambit - a slice that severed bone and tendon from limb, somehow managing to chop her hand clean off. The Calamity was effectively distracted. Cyran huffed, nodding in response to Javal’s cry. The shadow-runes hovered in the air, a complicated magical script, as Cyran finished off the last command. All at once, ashen-fire chains burst from the ground, wrapping around her arms, her legs, her torso. Magical fire from the embers branded her fur, a heat stronger than her demonic lightning. All at once the spells that she’d cast fizzled into nothingness. And the Calamity, too, would find that she could not so much as move. [1]WHAT IS THIS. The voice boomed in his head, though it wavered uncertainly, as if it could not maintain itself. This was it. “Now!” Cyran cried, pushing through the fatigue, through the pain in his thigh. They were all losing steam, and they had to make a decisive blow here. Behind him, an elven spectral figure in a flowing gown with long, ebony hair manifested, placing her hands on Cyran’s shoulders. [2] Cyran raised his hand, a miasma of darkened energy gathering in his fingertips that he shot straight at the calamity’s throat. [3]Behind him, Rowan smiled. “Good.”

Javal was barely able to keep his assault on the calamity going; each sword slash he delivered was blocked and he was beginning to tire out from dodging the calamity’s strikes.
He hoped whatever Cyran was doing would be quick as he didn’t know how much longer he could hold on.
Suddenly as Javal was about to dodge once more the calamity was suddenly entrapped mid-strike by some sort of fire chains coming from the ground.
Javal turned back to look at Cyran and quickly as he was commanded to decided to end this thing here and now while they had the chance.
Javal closed his eyes and concentrated on everything around him, feeling the air along his body for a single second he felt at peace.
He held his blade out in a vertical position, he suddenly opened his eyes and whispered, “Javal Style: Crescent Fall Slash".
Javal slashed the beast beginning from its adobe slashing through its arm all the way to its neck in a single crescent moon-like motion.
He smiled as the beast shouted in pain as Cyran and Javal’s attacks went through knocking the creature to the ground.
It was apparent that the beast was down because a pool of blood under it started forming, it began yelling, “HOW DARE YOU MORE MORTALS DEFEAT ME. ALL I WANTED TO WAS TO MAKE THIS PATHETIC MORTAL REALM BETTER. IT CAN'T END LIKE THIS I STILL NEEDED TO MEET UP WITH HIM!!!”.
And then the beast's voice faded into nothingness as its body started glowing a bright yellow and started to fade away with sparkles flying across the air hitting all the people present.
Three bright white orbs left her body and split into the city Nadia noticed that one of them entered the body of the priest that they’d killed.
Javal reeled expecting a final attack but opened his eyes as he felt refreshed and healed from that terrible battle.
He then stood tall and said, “Woah we did it another calamity has been defeated and the people of this town have been saved".

A second. That was the difference between success and failure. One crucial moment that they needed to turn the tides of battle. Cyran’s chains wrapped around the Calamity right before she could strike at Javal, protecting him from harm. Cyran concentrated, holding the spell while Javal raised his blade, light glinting off the steel of the weapon; in a fluid movement he changed the blade’s direction almost in a crescent arc, carving upwards until he slashed through the vulnerable part of the neck. Right at the same time his bolt hit exposed skin, true to the mark with pinpoint accuracy.
The Tiger crumpled, chains tightening around her as they pulled her closer to the ground. Cyran stiffened, worried that she might have something else hiding up her sleeve, but that seemed to be the end of it. In this weakened form, the demon had nothing but her horrid, spitting words. Insults at the two that had slain her, an amalgamation of pride and bargaining until she ended with one final lament. Him? Who was that supposed to be? Cyran’s brows furrowed, staring at the demoness thoughtfully as the rest of her body began to decompose, infernal energy no longer holding herself and the host together.
There was no proper way to describe the grotesque nature of the rot that settled into the air. The smell of ozone, the air after a vicious storm, hit them, the light crackling and sparking as wispy auras left her body, leaking from the exposed crescent smile Javal had carved almost like he’d broken some kind of seal on a bag. As one traveled to hit a nearby priest, Cyran realized exactly what they were seeing.
One thing he’d grappled with over his career, at times, was what it meant to take a life. That sometimes saving others meant robbing a person of their chance to do more harm. Rarely did Cyran get to see the effects of that in such a literal sense. And as the souls escaped the demon who’d imprisoned them, returning to their bodies across Skypeak, Cyran was struck with that feeling once more. A grim sense of pride. He’d had to do something awful, yes, but in the end, it had helped people.
That was secondary to the exhausted fellblood next to him.
Cyran whirled on Javal immediately, instincts after years of being a father kicking in. He grabbed Javal by the shoulder with one hand, the second reaching up to grab his chin so he could inspect Javal’s face for injuries. “Are you hurt anywhere? Need healing?” He asked, brows knitting in concern. “Did she get you with her spear?”

Javal looked over at the dead priest, a bit saddened about the loss of the poor priest’s life. He wished that they could’ve someone save everyone but in his heart, he knew that wasn’t possible.
Javal looked around at the chaos they had made and looked over his companions, Nadia looked alright with no wounds present, and Andromeda looked fine as well. He was mostly worried about Cyran after taking that direct hit through his thigh.
He feels Cyran checking on him and laughs as Cyran worries, “I’m alright Cyran a little tired but I’m fine”.
As he says this he can feel Nadia also inspecting him observing for any injuries she says, “It seems he has a couple of large bruises around his arms, then moves to check his chest".
Javal reels back in pain as she pokes him in the abdomen, “I believe he also may have some shattered ribs”.
Javal waves off Nadia’s concerns and says, “Cyran nevermind me how about you?”, he points at Cyran’s arm and leg, “We need to get you healed up as fast as possible, Andromeda Did you see any hospitals or clinics during your reconnaissance of the village?”.

Javal looked fine, aside from a few scrapes and bruises and general fatigue - for that, Cyran was grateful. Even though Javal was clearly downplaying the extent of his injuries, it was nothing they couldn’t get treated by a healer. He didn’t care so much about injury to himself. He was old, and he’d lived a much longer life than most he knew. So long as others got to live theirs, Cyran was satisfied knowing that he’d at the very least helped give them that.
…
His thigh did ache, though.
“Don’t worry about me.” Cyran insisted, stepping back while Nadia assessed Javal’s injuries, spotting a couple of ribs. The assassin’s eyes narrowed, fatherly instincts kicking up to a ten. “Were you going to conceal your ribs from me? Do you know how dangerous that is? Walking on fractured ribs is incredibly risky, young man, what if you’d exacerbated the injury and made the break worse, or even punctured a lung?” Yes, they were definitely going to need a healer after this. Crossing his arms stubbornly, Cyran turned to Nadia, his no-nonsense tone in full swing. “Nadia, get him to sit down. You’re not going anywhere with those injuries. Andromeda, go grab a healer.”
Andromeda, who had in fact pointed out the best hospitals and healers during her sweep of Skypeak, nodded and disappeared in a flash.
Cyran huffed, hand gripping his thigh where the wound ached. Loathe as he was to admit it, Cyran truly wasn’t in much of a state to walk to a healer himself. Yes, much better for all involved that they sit here and wait. Forcing himself to sit down on a rock hurt with every movement he made, the weight on his leg feeling like fire. But he managed, sitting down long enough to inspect the wound. Crackling scars and braised skin, almost like he’d been burnt, surrounded the spear’s entry point. Stronger than any lightning enchantment he’d encountered before… if that had hit a vital point, he wouldn’t have been as lucky.
What-ifs were pointless, though. Javal had landed the finishing blow, and their combined strength had been just enough to slay the demon. This was the best outcome Cyran could have hoped for. And yet…
Part of him was sorry that it had to be Javal to end the demon’s life.
Cyran raised his head, offering the fellblood a small smile, tired around the edges. He truly did not possess the boundless energy that belonged to the youth, not anymore. It was only habit and instinct that kept him awake now, the inability to rest until the job was well and truly over.
“You did good.” He assured the young man. “Because of you, Charon is a little bit safer for it. You won’t always be able to save every single person, but those people out there have you to thank for restoring their souls and saving them from the eternal tempest. That’s worth celebrating. So… thank you.”
Too tired to muster much else, Cyran leaned back on the rock until Andromeda finally returned with a healer to restore their injuries. The storm, finally weathered for now. But there would be more on the horizon.

As Cyran and Javal talk and wrap up their adventure at sky peak village there is a small black sheep wisp that has arrived in the city.
He floats around the town feeling that one of his kin has been slain by the adventurers. He looks to the ground and in his mind thinks about how he will avenge his father and aunt and destroy those fools.
He continues to look around the city before catching sight of two glowing balls of energy zooming through the city.
One suddenly crashes straight into him and gets absorbed by his body; the creature coughs a bit before suddenly being hit by a strong feeling.
This feeling is increased as he gets hit by another glowing orb and absorbs it.
His wispy shadowed form changes and stretches into the shape of a normal-ish-looking human baby with black horns.
The entity cries loudly seeking for anybody to care for him. His cries are answered as he sees an elderly-looking man pick him up and swaddle him, calming him down.
The elderly-looking man looks madly down at the baby and whispers, “It is okay dear divine one, I have been revived by her excellency at the cost of one of her three souls and assigned to take care of you and raise you to take over this world".
He then looks over the horizon as he remembers those adventurers leaving after a bit and getting up feeling the newfound power he was blessed with and the sacred duty he was assigned he says out loud, “This isn’t over yet young one we must carry on and raise you to grow strong enough to crush them let us stay in the shadows letting the other divine ones attempt to stop those heretics”.
