Javal took the other side, getting what she was planning. Good. While he sliced flesh and cut away cartilage, Ak’ka climbed further out onto the wing, the joint where the two bones connected. She wasn’t a doctor, but she’d killed enough chickens in her life for food to know where the best place was to break these damn things. And then, when the dragon couldn’t fly anymore, they were gonna drive this fucker into the ground, and then six feet under.
The dragon wasn’t gonna go down without a fight.
The feeling of painpainpain in its wings and body where Javal and Ak’ka were doin’ damage to it. Probably nothing more powerful than a dog’s bite on its owner’s leg, but the primal beast did the only thing it knew how to do best. When you see a spider tryin’ to get up in your shit, you squash it. The dragon roared, undead gnomes sprouting from the amalgamation of decaying flesh that made up its back. The ugly little shits that they’d fought before. Ak’ka swept her legs out in a kick and knocked at least ten of the bastards off the air, but more kept comin’. They had to finish this, and finish it quick before it spawned more. Meanwhile, the dragon was flyin’ in a wild zig-zag pattern, trying to knock the intruders off of its back, but Ak’ka held on ‘till her vision was nearly blacked out around the edges, the force of her grip turning her knuckles white. Ak’ka broke the wing at the edge in a break that wasn’t pretty or clean, and then twisted the bone at an unnatural angle as she hopped back. The dragon let out a pained roar, wobbling unsteadily in the air.
“Hold on there, Javal!” Ak’ka grinned, the adrenaline pumpin’ in her veins once more. Though the situation was grave, she wasn’t nervous at all. How many people could say they’d fought a big fuckoff zombie dragon and lived? She was definitely gettin’ a dragon tattoo after all this was said and done. “Wanna learn ‘bout a game we play back up in the Crown? Mountain Goat Rodeo. We’re about to take this stubborn bastard for a ride.”
She yanked the wing upwards like a pair of reins, directing the dragon straight to the Deadwoods treeline. They were comin' in fast and hard, and it wouldn't be long now before they crashed.

Javal continued his assault on the creature's wing like he was doing before until suddenly he saw the gnomes that were previously defeated. Javal was caught off guard by their attack and almost fell off before catching the monster's tail. He was barely able to hold on as it thrashed around in the sky; he had impaled his katana into its tail to get a good grip to climb back up.
As Javal worked his way up he saw that the creature's back was full of small skeletons and gnomes trying to knock and throw the two off.
The skeletons charge at Javal once he was standing on the Dragon’s back and jump all over him trying to beat him down. He just blocks his body from the blows and jumps into the air thrusting all of his limbs and knocking the skeletons off of him and into the ground below them.
The dragon was getting even more agitated and seeing that it was going to hit the tree line he decided to take drastic measures. He dove into the ground and spun around hovering upside down trying to drop the two adventurers and gain the advantage once more.

… ‘Course, Ak’ka shoulda expected that the dragon was gonna fight back. Bastard was stronger than everything they’d fought so far, and even with broken wings it still had enough grace to flip over on its back to knock off the two fighters on its back. Gravity, with Ak’ka’s weight, started pullin’ at her. Her grip on the dragon’s wing bone was loosening. The trees drew closer to ‘em, threatening to crush them or drop them - whichever came first.
Was this how Ak’ka died? She couldn’t keep this up much longer. Her hands were slick with sweat n’ blood, and her muscles were startin’ to get so sore that she couldn’t feel her arms no more. From this height, if she didn’t die, she’d really get fucked up. Ak’ka clenched her teeth, her tusks aching from the movement. Every part of her hurt. She didn’t have any strength left in her.
She had to try to find some.
Ak’ka’s lips parted in a guttural scream, her throat raw from how much she’d done so today. But she didn’t give a shit. She didn’t care how battered and bruised her body was. All she felt right now was the hate, hate for that shitty wizard that built such a big fucked up thing, who’d hurt Javal, imprisoned folks, who’d taken her damn arm. Hate, hate, hate, hate.
Hate.
Ak’ka’s eyes turned milky white with her vision, not too different from the zombies they’d fought before. Maybe she really was no better than the undead fuckers that Carmine piloted. Didn’t matter. Ak’ka definitely wasn’t thinkin’ about that right now. She wasn’t really thinking about anything as the hatred coursed through her veins like blood.[1] As the dragon flipped upside down, Ak’ka reared her fist back, the area of her brain connected to the part of her nerves that made her feel hurt temporarily turned off. And then she drove her fist into the dragon’s scale, punching a hole through its undead hide, through skin and sinew until she could grip at the muscle underneath.
She gripped at the thick muscle, making a natural handlebar out of the dragon’s body while the dragon flew upside down. The dragon was hurtlin’ towards the ground, but Ak’ka wasn’t movin a damn inch. And if attacking it from the outside, she would scoop it out from the inside ‘til it was hollow. 1. Juggernaut's Fury

Javal nearly loses his grip and was about to touch the floor before suddenly his entire body was filled with a new feeling not like before he felt the old hero’s surge through him calling for him to use its power and so Javal did.
He lets go of the dragon for just a second to motion his blade backward and throws the small hook attached to its tip onto the nearest part of the dragon which luckily for Javal was the dragon’s tail. He pulled and pulled with everything he had and vaulted himself back to the dragon’s back, saved once more from the large impending fall below him. Javal slowly tried to walk across the dragon’s head or wings but felt his body begin to give out he couldn’t walk anymore his right arm felt like it was either dislocated, broken, sprained, or maybe even all three. All he could manage was to crawl and crawl through the dragon’s back until he saw a large hole being opened in front of him where Ak’ka stood pulling some muscle, stopping the dragon’s rampage in the sky and bringing the two down.
Javal was happy it was all gonna be finally over he blinked and sighed with great relief before he heard a blood-curdling scream come from in front of him as he saw Carmine scream in horror seeing his creation be destroyed before him he was about to lunge at Ak’ka trying to stop her but before he could Javal tackles Carmine off the Dragon and into the ground below feeling himself falling using Carmine’s body to break his fall.

The dragon wasn’t gonna knock her off that easy. Ak’ka clutched the dragon’s muscle in her hands, digging deeper into its skin as they fell, fell, fell. She heard the scream, didn’t see Javal or Carmine anywhere. Nah, she was too distracted by her own survival, the wind in her hair, and the feeling of a pulse in her hands.
But somethin’ wasn’t entirely right about it. Ak’ka could feel the power thrumming in its veins, something primal and ancient buried deep inside. Its heart. Ak’ka gripped the dragon’s muscles tighter, lips breaking into a bloodthirsty grin. One thing was certain about all creatures, living or dead. They had something like a heart, or something that kind of functioned like a heart. Find that weak point and you could kill just about anything.
She just had to find the core.
The ground rushed to meet them. Ak’ka braced herself for the impact, still almost biting her tongue in half with her teeth as the landing rattled her skull. She couldn’t feel anything, no pain or fear or even relief in the all-consuming mass of her hatred, her need for revenge. Carmine wasn’t the wizard that killed her family, she knew. But that wasn’t gonna stop her from driving his beloved monstrosities into the dirt, ripping them apart ‘til there was nothing left but ash and dust. She raised all four hands upwards, digging into the skin once more. Pushing through undead flesh, the rotted corpses that made up its body and the dirt of the graves they’d been stolen from. Past the spine, until she felt somethin’ solid in her hands. Wasn’t anything that should be in a dragon’s body, she thought.
The dragon gave a shudder, thrashing when she reached her hand around that something solid. Resistance usually meant that she’d found the exact thing they didn’t want her to find - their vulnerability. Above her head, ash-clouds parted, rays of light floating through the air and illuminating the dragon’s thick hide as Ak’ka dug in, uncaring of the viscera and gore, before pulling the dragon’s core straight out of its chest, a pitch black diamond so dark that it just absorbed the sun’s rays instead of refracting them.
Someone screamed in the distance. Might’ve been Carmine, might’ve been the dragon. Didn’t matter. Not when Ak’ka held the damn monster’s still-beating heart in its chest, clutched the diamond between all four hands, and slammed her boot down on the head hard enough to snap the beast’s jaw shut.
“Time to end this.”
She crushed the diamond in her fists, crystalline shards falling to the ground around her like snow. All at once there was a great big shudder in the air as the magic was released, the final thing tethering the dragon to this world. The creature’s eyes dimmed and its body went slack before finally, finally, slumping over. Dead.
Ak’ka watched the corpse for a moment - not really proud of her victory, or even relieved. Just another fight in a long string of battles, a war raged against the world ‘round her. Another tally in the scoreboard of things she’d killed. This one, twice-dead. And as she stood there, the body slowly began to melt back into the earth, where it belonged.

Javal grabbed onto Carmine tackling him off the dragon’s back and onto the sky below them it was quite a fall and Javal hoped that the two could survive it.
Javal entrusted Ak’ka with the dragon’s remains now that Carmine wasn’t there to give it any orders the dragon must be working on autopilot and it already seemed that Ak’ka was already tearing the dragon apart rotten piece by piece.
Carmine shrieked and yelled tears welling up in his eyes, “Please please don’t so that I don’t want to die! Is money what you want ? I can give it to you just please don’t let me die”.
Javal laughs heartily as the wind almost chokes him as they continue to fall, “Do not worry Carmine I am not wicked and evil like you everyone deserves a second chance now where did I put that emergency not dying plan”.
Javal begins trying to look into his pockets trying to look for exactly the right thing to use at this moment as Carmine begins to cry.
They were about only five feet from the floor when suddenly Javal found a small stone totem in his waist and threw it behind him summoning his gargoyle friend Gustave.
He zooms past the two scoping them into his large arms and lands on the floor safely as the dragon itself begins to fade from this world.
Javal thanks his friend then walks over to Ak’ka to check how she’s doing before falling to the floor feeling all the pain he’d experienced hit him at once.

Ak’ka’s chest hurt. Her everything hurt. But there was still work to be done, even with the dragon dead. The half-Orc warrior’s adrenaline faded as she came back to herself, the hazy milkiness in her eyes from her rage-induced state returning to normal. She’d slain the dragon - now she had to go find her friend.
She didn’t have to look for long, thankfully. Ak’ka blinked as Javal approached her, Carmine in tow - and then collapsed at her feet. Looked like the little guy had taken more damage then he let on in the battle. Then again, Ak’ka couldn’t judge when she was the same way. Running on fumes right now, unable to stop knowing that she wouldn’t be able to get back up. Besides, they still had to collect the bounty.
And Ak’ka wasn’t as merciful as Javal.
She sighed, moving to scoop up Javal with one set of hands and sling him over his shoulder. Wasn’t the most comfy position but it would do for now. “You alright there, bud?” She asked, patting him on the back.
Carmine took one look at the hulking barbarian who held his fate in his hands and collapsed to his knees, pressing his hands together like a prayer. “Thank you, merciful Orc woman. Your fellblood friend promised me a second chance. I cannot thank you two enough for your generosity, I promise I will bring an end to all my experiments, my research…”
Ak’ka grunted. “The hell are you talking about?” Had Javal really promised that? She pegged him as the merciful type, but jeez this made things more complicated. One thing was for certain, though. Without his army of zombies at his beck and call, Carmine really wasn’t so tough. Ak’ka slammed her boot down on the ground in front of him, giving Carmine enough to put the fear of god in him.
No, not fear of god.
Fear of her wrath.
Ak’ka gave him a grin that was probably more like a horrifying grimace. One covered in blood and ash and the remains of his precious dragon. “Without your minions you’re a bit of a spineless bitch aren’t’cha?” She laughed. “Pretty big change from the guy who was promising to turn us into his zombie servants.”
Carmine stammered. Smart. Maybe he finally got it in his thick skull that no matter what he did to Ak’ka, she’d come out on top. You could make somethin’ out of the strongest materials and monsters but without willpower of its own, it was just a puppet. And a puppet was only as strong as the one controlling it. “Your friend promised no harm would come to me.”
“Funny.” She cracked her knuckles. “I don’t remember making that promise.”
Driving her face into that smug bastard’s shocked face, breaking his nose with a CRUNCH of cartilage and the surrounding bone. Not enough to knock him out - no, she pulled her punch. Enough to keep him awake so he could feel all the pain he’d inflicted on her and Javal.

Javal could barely see anything as he felt his body get swept over someone's shoulder he assumed this was Ak'ka.
He whispers to the question, "I'm okay, just slighty tired".
The whole battle had completely worn Javal out; he had battled every foe without any rest in between pushing himself beyond his limits.
As Ak’ka punched Carmine straight in the noise the man fell to the floor screaming and trying his best to fix it.
Javal can’t see what’s going on but has a feeling of what has happened, he can mumble to Ak’ka, “Ak’ka please stop we need him alive just do it for me, He’s done.
Nadia alongside Asleipmir and Ariadne emerge from the deadwoods behind the duo alongside a screaming Carmine on the floor.
The group looks tired and injured Nadia exclaims as she sees the sight she runs and looks over at her liege tears in her eyes.
“I’m so sorry by liege for failing to protect you me and the group were ambushed by a large group of mercenaries who were after Carmine’s bounty. She bows very low to Ak’ka crying, “Thank you so much”.
“It’s okay Nadia, it’s all okay”, just capture Carmine and help us to the nearest hospital or tavern.
Nadia sets Carmine next to Asleipmir; he then gnaws on the man's coat carrying him by it while Carmine is grumbling and complaining about how unjust this is.

Ak’ka grimaced, only stopping her next blow in its tracks ‘cus she heard Javal’s voice, a hoarse plea for her to stop. Ak’ka didn’t like being told when to stop. But he was right. They needed this bastard alive for the bounty. She spat on Carmine’s face, a glob of blood and saliva. “Fine. I just needed the one punch to get the point across, anyway.” She glowered at the necromancer, curdling bloodlust in her expression. “It’s only ‘cus this guy’s so nice you’re not getting a broken arm, or worse. It would’a been what you deserved.” She raised her own ice-covered arm, the one he ruined.
A few seconds later, Javal’s other friends came running towards them, Nadia tearfully apologizing for not being there. Ak’ka shifted from foot to foot, awkward at the apology and the thanks. She wasn’t really used to getting thanks from the people she’d helped. Most of ‘em just wanted her to go away. “Ya don’t need to worry about protecting me, little lady. That’s my job.” With her free hand, she moved to give Nadia a firm pat on the shoulder.
“We’re both fine. Slugger here kept fighting ‘til he couldn’t move no more, but we’re alive and still kicking. And this bastard,” She nudged Carmine with her boot, “Is about to face a long life behind bars.”
“This isn’t fair.” Carmine muttered under his breath. “I was so close to achieving perfection. Where did I go wrong?”
Ak’ka would’a kicked him again, just to knock the wind out of the wizard so she didn’t have to hear his smug voice, but with Javal still on her back, not wanting to hurt this guy more than necessary, she refrained. Instead, she grunted, “Yer creatures would never be perfect or strong. They’re just puppets. Strength comes from the will of self. With you controllin’ them, they would never have that.”
Carmine was silent for a long moment, staring at his lap while Nadia forced him upwards and onto Asleipmir. “No, you’re right.” He mumbled after a long few seconds. “They weren’t perfect.”
He looked back up at her.
“But you are.”
Ak’ka glared at him. “Shut up. You’ve been beaten, stop running your mouth and tryin’ to play mind games.”
But Carmine ignored her, seemingly lost in his own little world. “I wonder what necromancer made you. No decomposition, no loss of will. Somehow, you still possess a soul. You, orc girl, are perfect. Will you tell me your name?”
“Yeah.” Ak’ka spat. “It’s nunya. Now shut yer fuckin' trap and don’t cause trouble while we get you back into the city.” They had to make their way back to Darkveil to collect the bounty on this fucker’s head. She turned away from him, not wanting to think about what that asshole was implying. She wasn’t dead. She was nothing like those mindless, brainless, rotting zombies.
She was alive.
Ak’ka glanced down at her arm, now just mangled bone and unmelting ice.
She was alive. She had to be.

Javal was so thankful for Ak’ka’s mercy for Carmine that he chuckles a bit before stopping since it hurts his side immensely just even laughing.
Nadia then bows once more at Ak’ka before stating, “It’s okay the least that we can do is to try to protect and lead us out of this terrible area. We need to get you two to get you somewhere to rest and recover your strength".
Nadia reels in anger as Carmine spats out more remarks about perfection but this time being aimed at Ak’ka.
As Ak’ka finishes her rebuttal Nadia slaps Carmine across the face, completely enraged by this lowly pathetic man’s courage to continue his lunacy.
She composes herself and leads the way for the group approaching the nearest place to rest and collect their thoughts.
After about a couple of hours of travel, the group manages to make their way into Darkveil City and the nearest inn.
Nadia checks the group in for two separate rooms before handing Ak’ka a key to her room and Carmine’s tied-up body. She with the help of Bootsamon leads her liege in their room to finally rest a bit before trying to continue with their mission.

To be honest Ak’ka wasn’t expecting the little elven lady to get as upset as she did when Carmine started spitting shit out just to see what stuck. She was familiar with insults, with slurs and hate speech. People’s weapons weren’t thick enough to pierce her hide so they tried with words instead. It was nothin’ new. And she was used to dealin’ with it on her own, cus who else was gonna help her but herself?
But then Little Miss Nadia reared back and utterly bitch slapped that bitch wizard across the face, and Ak’ka couldn’t help but feel a bit… touched. She didn’t know what else to say as they set out through the woods, so she just shoved her hands in her pockets while they continued into Darkveil.
Didn’t take long for them to get back to the city and find a place to sleep.
Ak’ka started rootin’ through her own pockets for some solars to pay the inkeep when Nadia handed her a key for a room, and Carmine’s body. Ak’ka slung the wizard over his shoulder and nodded at Javal’s little retainer gal. “I’ll watch him. Y’all get some rest.” They were a little more bumped up and hurt than her. Once she was sure they were gettin’ a nap, Ak’ka went to her own room and shoved Carmine down in a chair.
“Don’t even think ‘bout tryin’ to escape.” She threatened, her voice a guttural growl in the back of her throat.
“I would not dream of it.” Carmine swallowed, starin’ at her muscles, and the ice-covered arm he tried to take from her. She leaned back, crossin’ her arms. Good. So he was capable of learnin’ after all.
And they waited that way, Carmine sittin’ uncomfortably while Ak’ka sat on the bed, her arms crossed, starin’ daggers at him. He started to sweat, wonderin’ how she could keep looking at him so long without blinking. Fortunately, he didn’t know Ak’ka could sleep with her eyes closed. She managed a short nap while Javal and the others rested, waiting for Javal and the others to wake up and knock on her door.
They had a round of questioning for this guy before they turned him in for the bounty.

Javal slept soundly as the group guarded their liege against any other crazy threat, Nadia even made rounds to Ak’ka’s room checking on her and Carmine.
Eventually, the day began and Javal jumped out of bed excited for what the day brought; he was quickly reminded by Bootsamon that they were here on business.
Javal then headed to Ak’ka’s room to begin their interrogation of the mad necromancer who would be the killer of the two.
Javal sat down on a chair he got from the downstairs tavern and asked Ak’ka what way they should go.
Javal waited for her response and began the interrogation as he sat in front of Carmine with a kind smile and curious mind.
“Hello there Carmine, how’re you doing?”
Carmine meekly responds, “I’ve been better”.
Javal smiles and says, “Understandable, so you mind explaining to us what’s going on here? What’s your deal? Why were you in those woods? Do you have any other mad wizard friends? Why are you so mean?”.
Carmine looks to the ceiling and then sighs knowing there isn’t much else he can do, “I am a member of a secret coven of mages we call ourselves the Council of True Judgment. We are attempting to bring a new age of magic to Charon by any means necessary. I had only joined the group for a couple of months and was tasked with coming up with new necromancy spells to further our cause of chaos. I was actually in the deadwoods preparing to meet up with another member but I think our battle might’ve scared them away. All I know of our leader is that their name is Sasha and that they possess great power".

“Council of True Judgment?” Ak’ka groaned. Why did these fanatic types always gotta have some crazy group full of even more crazies like them? To be honest, at first she didn’t really care ‘bout the fact that there was another possey of people just like this guy out there that needed to be taken care of. That wasn’t her job. She’d been hired to bring this guy in for Justice after he was stealing corpses and attackin’ folks, and that was exactly what she’d done. But the more she thought about it, the angrier she got. That there was a bunch of powerful wizards out there who’d gotten together and decided to play god.
And the hate returned with a vengeance.
Ak’ka huffed out a breath, a puff of ice-cold air leaving her nose as she did. Maybe it wouldn’t hurt to check out. A new wave of magic in Charon… huh. Maybe she’d find the coward that destroyed her clan among their numbers. Years of searchin’ and finally, after all that time, she felt like she had somethin’ of a lead.
She’d be a fool not to at least look.
“Damn… so if ya only joined a few months ago, ya probably don’t have much information on what they’re up to, their hideouts, and shit like that. Well, yer not really useful at all, are ya?”
Carmine readjusted his glasses and shrugged.
“I… I am cooperating, Madam Orc. More than anything I wish to ensure my own survival so that I can continue my experiments. If that means telling you what I know, so be it.”
“You know any of their other members? Their big hiding places?” He’d already given them the name of his leader, that was a start. Sasha. Funny that a big cult lady would feel so… normal.
“I dunno about yer plans, but I think it’s worth checkin’ out. Sounds dangerous. And when it comes to danger there ain’t many better folks equipped to deal with the problem than me.” Ak’ka spoke - wasn’t a brag or anything. Just sounded like something she believed was the real, genuine truth. “But I won’t force ya to do anything you don’t wanna if you wanna tap out here. What do ya think, Javal? … Javal?”

Javal kept his eyes wide open as he sat on the chair facing Carmine trying to process his whole telling of the encounter with the Council of True Judgment.
His eyes darkened and his voice became louder as he heard Carmine surprisingly mention Sasha’s name. His head then was filled with ideas and conspiracies of perhaps maybe it being his former love Sasha.
“Wait Carmine you mentioned a woman named Sasha correct? Do you know much about her? Is she a half-orc with a scar on the back of her neck?”, he asks hurriedly and intensely.
Carmine says with a defeated voice, “I don’t know much about her. She wasn’t the one that invited me to join the organization. That person was another member who mastered another magical domain”.
Javal then looks towards Ak’ka and says, “Ak’ka I’m sorry to ask this of you especially since this is our first meeting but I ask you to join me in punishing these villains. I cannot stand here and listen to Carmine babble on explaining how there are much more dangerous villains than him".
After he and Ak’ka talked more about the revelation of more evil wizards, he heads to the local law enforcement station and turns Carmine in.
He cries, kicks, and begs Javal to set him free at any cost but Javal simply lectures him on the value of justice and rehabilitation.
He turns Carmine into two security guards not before grabbing Carmine’s red goggles and taking them for himself, giving Carmine a handful of solars as payment,nt and leaves the station heading over to a local tavern to collect his thoughts.
