The now newly designated errand girl for these sorts of things after her ‘adventure’ dealing with that researcher in Mt. Drakolt, Tellan finds herself at the edge of a crater, the depths of which revealing the existence of a lost city. The only reason she was even out here was supposedly there were dragons involved and that was pretty much the whole purpose of the temple she was a part of back in Darkveil. Dragon this, dragon that. The volcano was actually a dragon, the mountain ranges were dragons, their piss was dragon piss. Whatever. The more esoteric tenets of her faith were definitely not really sticking around in Tellan’s mind, been far too busy processing all these new experiences to have room for that. It was by the Dragon’s grace alone that she hadn’t collapsed into an unconscious state on the wagon ride over here from an overload of emotions.
Speaking of which, that ride was something else. Surrounded by a rainbow of uncouth thugs, silk clad nobles, and a menagerie of animals, the assault on Tellan’s senses rivaled the storming of the beaches of Normandy. The culmination led to a small black clothed figure curled in the fetal position attempting to meld into the corner of the wagon and rapidly swirling eyes reflecting the internal turmoil. The only kindness she managed to achieve was a cup of black coffee which Tellan held onto like a lifeline attached to this reality, preventing her from dissociating into another plane of existence.
She was in fact still holding that cup of coffee while trudging through the desert towards where she was now located at the crater. Tellan took a sip of that long journeyed brew while processing the scene below her, she cut quite the figure of oddity, dressed in a high neck and full length dress with sleeves, gloves, and a cape with a hood thrown over her colored all in black, she was actually wearing very appropriate desert clothing as she was completely covered from the sun preventing sunburn and stalling the inevitable dehydration by collecting her sweat. Tellan wasn’t completely unprepared for this errand she was sent on, she did have a brown leather cross shoulder bag that held a notebook, a bunch of writing tools, and attached to the strap was a couple of water canteens that she refilled before she left the caravan. Now, how to assess the danger that could be lurking in these ruins so she didn’t end up dead before her time.

Aagha had made his way to the Zeinav desert thinking that maybe what this Lion needed was something to remind him of his previous owner. The Dawn Lion had told him that the desert was somewhere he had been before with the star creature who had up and vanished. Once they had found their way into the desert and the city, he found a posting for a job that would give them the opportunity to further explore the desert.
A few days later they made their way to where the ruins were supposedly with an expedition group headed by some haughty noble clearly out for nothing but notice for being the one to set foot into this set of uncovered ruins. Apparently here in the desert, this sort of thing happened often the locals said. A true map of the desert would be very hard to come by, so they were stuck patrolling with these high nosed bright targets.
“Mannn if we were to run into an enemy group we’d be so freaking dead. These guys are more noticeable than Boromir and he freaking glows like the sun..” Aagha thought to himself. Among the reverie of the nobles and their pawns who all seemed way too excited to be out in weather like this, Aagha picked up on a more inconspicuously dressed individual holding onto some coffee. He would silently make it a point to follow this individual through this ordeal instead of dealing with some disgusting old loud mouths.
He trailed a bit behind her blushing slightly, a bit too nervous to actually approach her. His presence wasn’t generally overwhelming, at least if he was alone, but the addition of a large red wolf and the glowing lion would definitely make him a bit conspicuous, granted in other ways from the haughty nobility.

Was she about to be eaten? Wait, wouldn’t they try to fight each other first to see who gets to eat her? But they weren’t fighting. Which meant that they were tamed by someone. Oh right, the person riding the glowing lion, wait. Glowing lion? How does a lion glow? Why does the lion glow? Is the big wolf red because of all the bloody flesh it has consumed? On and on the questions cycled through Tellan’s mind as she had made the grave mistake of turning around to survey the desert landscape around her. This of course meant that she was now frozen, the colors of her eyes swirling in a circular pattern of infinite loading as she now faced this individual with his pair of pets/friends/tamed beasts.
As she stood there in this small moment of processing overload, there were tiny sections of clarity that passed by like the sun amongst a cloudy sky. These vibrant nuggets of clarity allowed Tellan to take in details of the new arrival, poofy brown hair, average height, and a bow. Clearly a hunter of some kind who probably used his animal companions to engage close while maintaining distance and waiting for an opportunity with that bow of his. Whoops, too many moments of clarity in a row and reality broke through Tellan’s stupor causing her eyes to rapidly blink, toes wiggled awake within her black leather moccasins, and her black gloved hands flexed their fingers out dropping the cup of coffee that she was holding where it promptly broke on the hard desert ground.
Despair dropped young Tellan to her knees and as she gathered up the pieces of her precious coffee mug, she supposed she should greet the newcomer,
“Hi… What brings you out here?”
Meek, sad, with just a hint of the verge of crying, there wasn’t much left emotionally for young Tellan to experience after everything that has occurred to this point and would no doubt enjoy a nice twelve plus hour sleep to recharge her emotional and social batteries, but to her continued dismay that would probably not be happening for quite some time.

"U-Uhm.. are you.. okay? O-Oh no." Aagha noted the odd behavior of the other suddenly. He waved a hand in front of her. He jumped up and down. He had Boromir do the thing where he roared and got brighter. Nothing. At this point he could only assume the animals and he had literally just caused this girl to die. Definitely killed her. She looked pretty dead. Her eyes.. glazed over? He started to hyperventilate a little trying to keep it as quiet as he could as the caravan simply continued on. "Oh god. Oh god. Oh god. Boromir, Cane, what do we do? Maybe we just run? Maybe we book it. We don't really need money. W-W-We can just l-live off of dirt. It'll b-be fine I'm sure." He was spiraling for a moment completely about to lose his marbles until the red wolf sighed, lifted a paw, and thwapped Aagha in the back of the head not once, but twice.
"For Ginma's sake. Look she's fine she just dropped a mug while you were in the process of breaking down! Why are you like this? Everywhere we go. You're going to have to eventually kill something! What then?!" Though Aagha could understand the creature's harsh words, everything else would just hear grunts, growls, and grumbling. He rubbed the back of his head hard. It wouldn't leave a goose egg or anything but it was definitely more than what was necessary. He did finally notice that the girl had dropped the mug and was now trying to pick up the broken mug on her hands and knees. This caused Aagha to quickly shuffle and grab pieces for her as well, though he did slip and slice his hand. He huffed and bit his lip a bit to the pain, but managed to hold himself together.
"U-Uh.. yeah.. Hi.. my name is Aagha. I'm here for.. there was a job poster." He sighed, making sure not to get his blood all over the girl's shattered, but still pretty cup. He was blushing a bit. Just speaking to her was a bit overwhelming for him. All these people were definitely starting to get to him. At least this one in particular didn't seem to be clothed in noble regalia. Nobles were the worst of all the people.

Aagha with the job poster and now a hand cut while trying to pick up one of her coffee cup pieces, apparently he could also communicate with his animal companions. Must be nice to be able to have people to talk to even if they were just animals. Just animals? Soft, fluffy, warm to cuddle up to, definitely sounds better than an actual person. Blood wasn’t an uncommon sight for young Tellan as even younger Tellan had plenty of experiences with the rainbow of putrid wastes that could be found at the bottom of the city figuratively and literally. It was more the sight of the red wolf cuffing the back of Aagha with the job poster’s head that made her brain wondering what was going on and a light swirling of her eyes reflected the thoughts that eventually ended nowhere and settled on a light blueish gray for the moment.
“Well, apparently there’s a need to investigate this city that appeared after an earthquake, so in the best interests of our mutual survival, would you like to pair up?” The suggestion was also from her experiences that have evolved from her time as a street wastrel. Watching your back is always easier with a second set of eyes, escaping is also easier when you can use them as a distraction and run like hell the other way. The second part was unfortunately something that was done out of sheer survival instinct, young Tellan was not one to be cynical about people’s lives, but such behavior ultimately boiled down to either she lived or died. Speaking of which, why did the archer person, Aagha with the job poster, have no arrows? Wait. He has no arrows. No arrows?
“Uh, did you forget your arrows?”
Her formerly blueish gray eyes turned a cycle of hues once again as Tellan attempted to process that this individual took on a job without even bringing their main form of combat. Is he going to use his bow as a staff? Bow staff? Bo staff. Heh. The joke actually broke the cycle of her internal monologue and her eyes stopped their constantly changing colors on a light purple.

Aagha nodded in response to the question from the other still blushing a bit too fiercely. In the mean time, he had taken out his medkit and bandaged himself up appropriately so that hopefully the smell of his blood wouldn't be so present if they ran into any beasts. Boromir and Cane both looked at one another when Aagha was asked about the arrows and a series of grunts, growls, and various other animal noises would lead one to realize that perhaps Aagha's creatures were laughing at him. Which, should the other possess the same amulet, would realize they in fact were laughing.
Aagha let loose a long sigh when he realized he had been asked about arrows and looked at the other individual directly in the eyes. "You know how when you're raised by someone certain expectations are set? Well one of the expectations in my family is making most of the things you need and.. I'm just not good at it okay! I'm really bad it! So no, I don't have any arrows. I know it's stupid. I realize I could just buy arrows from someone who does know how to make them, but it's like risking even more disappointment from a family who already has absolutely no expectations of me and I just want to feel like I'm doing something right! That something definitely isn't making arrows!" He huffed a bit after his rather fast paced but by no means concise explanation as to why he didn't have arrows. Boromir and Cane were his main forms of combat currently anyway and if he absolutely had to he would try to fist fight or even use the bow as a blunt weapon swinging it about like a maniac all for the sake of defending himself.
"Sorry.. I just.. I'm bad at this. I don't know what to do around people, but if you can tolerate me and these two we would like to group up with you way more than any of these nobility." Aagha huffed once more as they continued into the ruins ahead. What trials would await them in this ancient desert kingdom?
