With the ooze slurped into a magical pocket dimension, Astrid plops onto the floor, breathing heavily as the mild panic leaves her body. She just met the little drake and already he’s causing her a fright. This must be how Leni and Ulrich felt after their trip through the Lightning Fields where Astrid was immediately in imminent danger. Maybe it’s best not to do that to people.
The half-dwarf scratches the drake under the chin, holding him in her arms like a baby. “Ah, he’s not that stingy, he’s just a hungry little guy, ain’t he?” Making excuses for the little drake is not going to help his behavioral training, but she doesn’t have the self-awareness for that.
Once they have a good breather break, Astrid gets to her feet and offers Temujin back to Tarkhan. “Let’s go tell ‘em we solve their ooze problem then we can take it out ta the woods an’ let it free, yeah?” With that, she collects her hammers and heads back out of the inn to find the guards. Her explanation of what happened is simple at best, only explaining that the ooze has been taken care of, and there's nothing more to worry about. It takes some convincing, but the guards do finally pay the two adventurers for their efforts, and Astrid heads out of town with Tarkhan to find a good spot to release the ooze.
Finally, she finds a small grotto with him, and she stands back confidently as they size it up. This should work. “What d’ya think? Ready ta say bye ta our ooze friend?”

Looking at Astrid made him sigh in relief at least, as she was directly responsible for keeping Temujin from being a snack for an ooze which would have changed the outcome of this encounter drastically. Her comments on the brat drake was good hearted but amusing nonetheless, "One who is fed several times a day shouldn't be so hungry as to risk themselves now should they?", he had moved closer while he spoke and now also scratched the drakes head gently as he sighed again and looked up to the ceiling as he spoke in a near whisper, "Thank you Avasha..."
He simply nodded to her request and spoke softly as he gathered himself and the Drakeling who promptly wrapped himself around Tarkhan like a scarf, "Lets.", as they ventured out of the inn, he made a show of leaving the door open so as to say I promise you its safe now. Watching her convince the guards and handle the situation spoke to a wisdom beyond her apparent age, that was intriguing so to speak. His only thoughts wandering to that Astrid must have been a survivor for she was quite skilled at handling herself in a situation that most adults would struggle in to say the least.
Once they made it to the small grotto he nodded and acquiesced to her request as he released the Ooze form its seal and prompted Temujin into it instead, "Begone now little one, and don't wander into settlements again okay? Its dangerous for your kind....", the words left his lips with a certain sadness behind them that was palpable to say the least. He waited a moment for the Ooze to be on its way before he spoke again to Astrid now directly, "You handled yourself very well Astrid. If you ever have need of a wanderer leave word for me in local taverns. Ill find the way eventually."

When Tarkhan releases the ooze and tells it to run along, Astrid watches it go into the forest with a satisfied smile. She really doesn't think that ooze has nearly the same intelligence as the one she's befriended. "I think it'll probably head inta settlements again, but that's someone else's problem, I s'pose. They're not all that smart... Either way, it'll be fine fer now."
With her hands on her hips, she turns to look at Tarkhan, deciding that she likes his calm energy and wouldn't really mind adventuring with him again. "Thanks, Mister Tarkhan," Astrid says with a gap-toothed grin. Little compliments like that really help boost her confidence and remind her that she's doing a pretty good job for a kid.
"A Wanderer?" she muses, moving one hand to her chin thoughtfully. "Well, I s'pose now that I know I can do that, I will!" Astrid looks up at the man and his drake, offering one last chin scratch to Temujin before extending a handshake to Tarkhan. "It was nice ta meet ya, Mister. Lookin' forward ta runnin' inta ya again!"
Having said their goodbyes, Astrid heads off to report back to Llyod about the situation in the tavern, wondering if he'll have any more jobs for her in the future.
