Imprisoned? Interesting. What exactly did he do to receive such a harsh punishment, he wonders. The escaped mad mage, that certainly was worth looking into deeper. He couldn’t help but wonder why the Witch of Moonglade was so interested in him though. Perhaps she wanted to capture him and turn him in so she would be accepted back amongst the court? No, that didn’t seem likely. This came off as something more…personal. He ponders on that thought for a moment.
“Hmm, do you have a description? I presume he has magic to disguise himself but it still could be helpful if there are any notable personal details.”
He watches her body language closely. She was very good at switching between tones like it was nothing. Subtlety certainly was not her strong suit, ironically. He thinks about her question as he sits back a bit, feeling the warmth of the heated stone on his back.
There were several things he was working on that could use more hands certainly, but many were mundane and would be a waste of Kamille’s talents and skills. He wanted to make more aggressive moves towards his own goals, but the timing still wasn’t right for that just yet. Soon though. Very soon.
“Not immediately, though I will let you know when I do. I have recently acquired a building in Darkveil. You are welcome to visit if you are ever in the area.”
The invitation was more than just being friendly, it was an exchange of information. Kamille now likely had a better idea of where he is from and who he associates with given the location he just named. Very few willingly went to the city of vices without being involved in some pretty shifty business.

"Tall and lean. Dark hair. He doesn’t age, so... Looks around his 40s? 50s? I don’t know. He's a mage, so he doesn’t look particularly strong."
Kamille seemed to want some reaction, since she watched Zarius closely. Her description was... lacking, at least. Too broad at best.
"Of course, he could also be totally different right now."
The Witch nodded as Zarius answered vaguely as to his intentions. She imagined he wouldn’t want to release any kind of information if his course of action wasn’t set on stone - or even if it was, she doubted he would let on anything other than what was strictly necessary. At the mention of Darkveil, her eyes glinted again, a satisfied smile upon her lips. Once again, she let her gaze lazily travel around the place as she answered the tiefling, wondering once again how much he thought she knew. Kamille was under the impression he had already figured it out on account of their showdown at the Black Harvest Ball.
"What an ominous place to set a building at... I guess I never went to Darkveil before. I'll make sure to pay a visit soon, if you would have me. What is it like? What should I be looking for?"
Not that she couldn’t find out herself, but she would rather save her the trouble. Maybe for the first time she caught herself wondering how Darkveil was, as she had never had any interest in the place so far. Her heart had been always torn between Moonglade and Sol City, and though she had begun to understand Zeinav's charms as of now, Darkveil was way off her radar.
Until she met Zarius, that is.

That was...not a lot to go off of. The aging thing might be useful if there was a way to detect it. Surely there was something more specific, or was Kamille not actually be familiar with this individual? It was certainly a curious request. Something else was going on here, but he didn't have enough information to go off of.
"What about eye color?"
Eye color was often something very telling and noticeable. It was one of the issues with tiefling's actually, since some lack pupils and have the solid coloration such as himself which made it harder to read emotions. That was why he tried his best to keep a friendly smile on his face, otherwise he would just always appear alien and dead inside to others.
He hadn't forgotten about what Kamille did at the ball, and he did suspect that she already knew a lot about him if she had used the same spell she used on Caedes then on him when they first met. He couldn't be certain though until she let something slip or admitted it herself. What's more, there was something important about openly sharing information with the witch. Words held power and meaning depending on when they were used. Giving Kamille information, even if she had already acquired it, had its own significance.
"It certainly does not suit most." He admits with a nod.
Darkveil was not a place most went unless they were extremely reckless, were fleeing authority, or they had some ulterior motives. It was a haven for criminals of all kinds and even the leader was just a puppet in the hands of the numerous criminal families all backstabbing one another. It was incredibly volatile, just like the nearby volcano continually spewing ash into the sky, keeping the city caked in soot and covering up all the blood stains.
"Of course, considering how you welcomed me into your home twice, it is only fair that I welcome you into mine."
Though, really, the Rookery was not his family home. He rarely invited people to the estate out of respect and caution for the rest of his family members. Though they could more than defend themselves, it was best to keep the estate out of the public eye for as long as possible. The Rookery was almost like a decoy, giving anyone with a grudge against him a place to target instead of trying to track down where his parents and siblings resided.

Dark blue eyes."
She wouldn’t deny it if Zarius put two and two together. It wasn’t her intention, when she first came there, to release such information - but she would also not hold onto it. It was just a matter of time until it came out, and it would be better for him to learn it from herself, firsthand, than by the gossips at the Court.
"I will find my way there, don’t worry."
As for Kamille, Darkveil has always been off of her radar. It had its own way of running things, much different from Sol City or Moonveil, that trusted royalty and the Sun King. Darkveil was run by a handful of families for a very long time now, and probably wouldn’t accept things any other way. Regardless if it worked or not, as long as they kept their inner turmoil to themselves and not allowed it to spill, she was happy to let them to their own devices. And she had some sort of hope that Zarius would be effective in helping keeping it all together - she wasn’t a stranger to using unorthodox means to achieve the right ends. And Zarius wasn’t either.
"I will wait for news from you, then. I suppose when I come to visit we'll need to catch up. I was hoping to develop, among other things, some sort of potion to resist the effects of the corrosive oozes we all faced, so I may be traveling for a while. I always receive messages at the Brass Dragon too, should you be around." Kamille shot a last glance to the other pits.
"For now, I'll leave you in peace. Send Eameia my regards. I really liked meeting her. Looking forward to our girls date anytime soon."

Well, if he didn't have any theories before, he certainly does now. This was a relative, perhaps the witch's father. That would explain how she was amongst Court nobility without being a noble herself.
"Very well."
Zarius' expression changes to oddly sympathetic. Family was complicated, and he was fortunate to have a very supporting family. Others were not so lucky, and it seemed Kamille was yet another example of that. He can't tell for certain what kind of relationship she may have with this individual, but knowing the witch the desire for information was likely out of concern for the individual's safety. He'd certainly put the task near the top of his priority list.
"Do let me know if you need any help with that."
The development of a potion to counteract the effects of acid was certainly something he would be willing to put some funding towards if the witch needed financial support for the research. He certainly did not want to ever get injured like that again and it would be good to make sure no one else suffered needlessly as well. He sits back against the edge of the pool.
"I will let her know, best of luck on your travels."
With that, the conversation came to an end.
