Sarne walked around to diffeint shops to get used clothing changing as he went. Sarne could not remember the last time he looked like this and smelled quite this bad. Sarne even rolled in the fighting pits to rub in some more dirt in his hair under his fingernails.
As Sarne walked people looked at him even some of the Vanguard made jokes as Sarne walked. He just gave a smile and he would get even later.
Arriving at the gate Norgic and Ruven were talking to Sarris. Sarne walked up Norgic chuckled "you look good my lord." Norgic said sounding almost joking. Ruven smiled and chuckled "My lord you have the great aroma of a stable. I did not know you could pull looking like a commoner. I am impressed. I do have a hit for you only talk in Elvin. you speck in the common tung they will know your not a commoner." said Ruven looking around.
Sarne just gave a nod "See you two there. Stay out of site and I will call you if I need you" ordered Sarne. Norgic and Ruven gave a slight bow and walked off through the gate. Sarne turned to Sarris "seen Zak yet?" He asked.

After Lord Sarne left to get prepared, Zak went outside the keep to find Gray. No sooner did he exit the main gate, the wolf came sprinting out from the nearby grove of trees. Zak smiled, glad that he had let the gray run for a bit. “Hope you got your exercise, big guy,” Zak said, patting the wolf’s large head when it reached his side. “Time to rest for now,” Zak said to the wolf, his hand touching the pouch hanging across his chest. In a blink of an eye, the wolf disappeared, retreating into the pocket dimension the gray often called home. Zak sighed. He hated not having Gray at his side, especially as he ventured into danger. However, bringing the wolf into Sol City was definitely not a good idea.
Returning to the keep, Zak found a private spot and changed into his tribal clothes. During his travels, Zak attempted to dress and present himself in a manner that didn’t scream of his heritage. But for some reason today it seemed appropriate to show up in the Sol City seamier district as who he truly was, an intimidating plainsman from the desert, not a tourist or a Sol City slouch. Nomads were considered barbarians and uneducated by most, and one of two things could follow that assumption. Cutthroats and miscreants could mistakenly believe him naive and open prey for their shenanigans or they would be wary because of tribal nomads’ reputation for being dangerous and unpredictable.
Gathering his belongings, he slung his pack over his shoulder and went out to meet Sarne. Zak’s old and stained thawb fluttered in the wind as he approached Sarne and Sarris. Dust coated his loose fitting trousers, red wide waistband sash, and scuffed knee high boots. He spread his arms out wide and asked, “Will this do?"

Sarris looked the two of them over. The three of them looked like they needed to be thrown out of the Citadel. She handed Sarne and Zak the swords she had worked over for them. "They are not fancy and the balance is good," she said.
"I go by Alica Rose," she said changing her voice and accent a bit and giving a bit of a curtsy. "A street girl, begar, scavenger, and crazy woman. I find when men try to take advantage of you that if talk about your collection of your lovers' body parts in jars they tend to leave you alone," she said proudly of herself.
She had been working this alias for months, having been thrown out of taverns and inns for bugging patrons. She owed one smuggler retribution still.

(The Hood)
People could only see a smile from under his Hood. "Still, your information came into good use. You know how it works everyone has a boss somewhere and my benefactor is very pleased with your work." He pulls out a pouch of coins and hands it to Vasilia. "Here is something to keep you, let's say on the payroll," he says in his raspy voice. "Now I have heard that some might come looking for me. Just direct them somewhere well maybe a tavern that is not a nice place I will deal with them then." says the Hood with a cold tone.

Vasilia listened to the hood intently and her gloved hand swiftly took the pouch of coins from him. She tossed it in her hand to feel the weight. It was not much, but it would do for now she thought. Then she heard him speak about how some might coming looking for him again. She rolled her eyes, another foolish quester out to catch him no doubt. She would swiftly dispose of them no matter who they are. “I'm glad your benefactor is pleased....” she said in response.
“...and don't worry. I'll make sure to take extra care with whomever they are...” she whispered into his ear.

When they were all met at the Gates of the Gray Citadel. The party started their walk to Sold City's east gate. It took all day to the road that was easily traveled. With the Vanguard patrols now and then there were no bandits to deal with.
It did not take long to get through the East gate checkpoint. Going into the city was easy enough Sarne dropped back and let Sarris lead. As they got into the alleyways of the city. The smell got stronger of urine and trash. The people were not selling too well either. This was the area where the lower of low have come. Dirty dimly lit and They could tell a whole lot of trouble if they are found out.
They rounded a corner. There was a shop on each corner. One of the shops showed a snake with big fangs. there was a woman off to one side and a few other people walking about. The woman (Vasilia) has the appearance of a moon elf, with white pale skin that contains a hint of grey and light hair. In terms of her build, she is slender and taller than a human. She has an athletic build and thin fingers. By most race measures, she would be classed as beautiful and alluring. She maintains herself immaculately. In terms of her attire, it is very minimalist as one would expect from a priestess warrior. Waring a hooded cloak but that's not too unusual here everyone dose that can afford one.

The Hood)
" See that you do, and the pouch of coins could be heavier." The Hood said with a grin. The Hood took a look around making note of who was there at the corner in the back ally. "I have business elsewhere I will be back later," said the Hood he gave a nod and walked away.
He rounded a corner and saw some people walking together for the most part. Something just did not sit right with the Hood as he passed some smelled of fresh dirt and other stuff all had their own scent something that is not normal for a round the city. The Hood passed them and just grinned. If they don't be long well, the back ally will take care of them.

Vasilia looked at the Hood in a bemused way and smirked back. Coins were all well and good, but he was a fool if he believed her loyalty could be bought for such trivial sums. She was no impoverished tavern wench in need of clients. She would bide her time and work with him for now, but she was at the end of the day, an independent operative. She watched as he walked away thinking on who might be coming.
Then her nose picked up the subtle smell of dirt and grime on the move. It contrasted markedly with her own own sweet smelling perfume that floated the air around her.

Sarris moved out of the man's way as he came down the street. She kept her eyes low and her body arched slightly making her look a bit older than she was.
Sarris headed over for one of the beggars across the street from the apothecary. Street children were the best because they were not a threat to anyone with any power.
"Nikki," she called as she crossed the street. "You had me worried!" she said slurring her speech a bit.
She knew the child and she went to sit by him. She would work her way to learning if anyone had been coming or going around the place.
"Help two hungry souls," she called out to some men walking past heading for a tavern. She gave her best puppy dog eyes. Two small coins fell into Nikki's hat and a proposition for better work for Sarris after the men had a few drinks.
Sarris did her best to ignore the offer. Her body language stiffened slightly. She did not like men touching her. "We will see," she cooed trying to be slightly shy.
She made a point not to look at Sarne or Zak to come to save her. The woman across the street looked to her to be a better target for them.

Post by Zak on Oct 10, 2022 13:33:12 GMT -5
Zak kept an irritated scowl on his face as they traversed the inner city. Not hard to do, considering the filth and dilapidation surrounding them as they walked. Sol City did not take care of its lowliest citizens, provoking increased chicanery and violence in the poorest neighborhoods. Zak seldom visited this section of town, and briefly wondered why he had chosen to join the Prince and return to its treacherous borders.
Rounding a corner, the Silver Fang came into view. Zak’s eyes automatically latched onto a woman and man standing nearby deep in conversation. An odd couple to say the least. No sooner had the thought entered Zak’s mind, the man turned and walked away, passing by with a wily grin on his face. Sarris had separated from them, assuming her street beggar persona. She and an urchin of her acquaintance solicited coins from passersby across the way as Sarne and Zak approached the apothecary.
The woman hadn’t walked away, and still remained where the man had left her. She looked to be a moon elf of some kind, completely out of place in the dingy street. What was a woman of such beauty and immaculate appearance doing in this part of town? Who was that man she had been talking with? Zak’s green eyes sparkled with interest and curiosity as he met her gaze. Who are you? he asked silently.

At this point Vasilia saw a number of characters come into focus who were eyeing her up. There were two men with some street beggars and two other men coming on. Were these the ones The Hood spoke of? Possibly. She wondered whether it might be better to take this off the streets and into the store itself, where there were less prying eyes. Inside the store she could control the situation to an extent, maybe interact with one of them alone to get access to their little group. She sent a playful look and smile towards the one with green eyes who was obviously questioning her presence in the area. Not to worry she thought...soon all would be told...if not revealed.
As she turned to enter the store she looked at the beggars moving on the other side of the street, this part of the city was definitely the worst for it. She entered the store slowly, making sure to give them a good look at her from behind. The bell went inside and she took position in the corner behind some large bottles of fermenting snakes. Clearly there were things here which could kill easily. She wondered who would enter first after her.

Sarne was taking notice of everything and everyone around him followed the others. Normal nobles would have given them selfs away by now. They would retract every time something dirty was near. Sarne had been raised as a ranger and everything that comes with that. Like sleeping in the dirt and being around the woods. he blended into the shadows as he walked disappearing now and then.
Sarne also notice the Moon elf and there was a lot to notice. She was attractive He had not seen many of that type of elf. As she started to walk to the place they wanted to go. Sarne was distracted and did not even see what was going on with Sarris. Sarne wanted to just grab the guy near Sarris but he stopped himself. Instead, he put a coin in the hat and stood next to the guy. Sarne looked at Sarris "Hay little girl your cute redhead. So you have red everywhere?" asked Sarne almost in a crepy way.

Nikki’s eyes grew big as the coin ended up in his cap. “You can hav’ ‘er,” Nikki said already planning his escape. Hit tone indicating his joy to be rid of her.
Sarris turned red and was up swinging her staff at the them. “You think you can buy me for a coin,” she yelled swinging the staff like a crazy woman. Her blows were strong enough to hurt but not hard enough to wound. Profanity flowed from her mouth like smoke from a fire, natural and billowing as she chased the three men like little boys across the street. With the chaos Nikki bolted with the coin and his hat. “If your looking for that entertainment, why not chase the half dressed lady at the druggist,” she said. “She seems to be looking for fun,” Sarris added in.
So much for asking about any strange people, Sarris thought.
She turned to return when an hand grabbed her hair. She dropped the staff. Her look was cold and one of the men stood pulling her hair making her head look up. If something did not happen, she was going to turn and stab whoever this was and run for the apothecary.

Well, damn, Zak thought as he watched Sarne get embroiled with an altercation between Sarris and some rascal on the street. Suddenly it became quite clear to Zak that splitting up before they had even ventured into the area would have been a better tactic. At this point, the two of them had most likely already been spotted as not belonging to the district, either marked for a mugging, or causing suspicion as to their motives for being there. It was too late now to concern himself with matters that could not be changed. Zak took one last glance towards Sarne before he turned and followed the woman into the shop, choosing to let the cousins handle whatever was happening on the street on their own.
As soon as he opened the door, his senses were assailed with a myriad of scents. The apothecary was not much different than others he had visited in his travels. Multiple towering shelves lined the walls containing every size, shape and color of various jars and bottles. Some sparkled with clear or colorful liquid, while others contained remnants of pickled or petrified specimens.
The moon elf female stood at the counter engaging the clerk in conversation when he entered. Zak normally did not have a suspicious nature, but something felt off about this whole affair. What was a woman with her poise doing in a place like this? Was she involved with the Black Hood? Well, he supposed there was only one way to find out.
“Hello,” Zak greeted the clerk as he moved over to the counter. “And a good morn' to you both,“ he added, meeting the moon elf’s gaze with a warm smile before turning back to the clerk. “I’m looking for a sleeping draught. Have any in stock?”

One of the human men was first to enter she saw through the corner of her eye. Vas had seen this one on the street and he seemed the younger of the two. Then before she could assess the situation the human was right behind her greeting them both. He was bold, confident and clearly in no need of a sleeping draught. She wondered if they suspected her at this point. She'd have to work hard to convince them she was a free agent.
“I'm sure they'll have something to sooth you to sleep...” she said in an amusing way as she turned around to have a good look at him. He was actually more attractive than she had seen from far away, for a human anyway.
“...this place offers a wide range of medicines and other curiosities. What's your name?” she said smiling back to him.
