As Ray sailed towards Sarne he leapt into action with a quick strike at Ray's shins. He had to swing his short saber down to catch the blade lest he not have feet to land on. The movement was uncomfortable and pushed him off balance. He rolled his body around the blade and landed roughly on his knees, barely managing to keep from landing on his side. Rising to his feet again behind Sarne as Sarne turned to face him again.
His blade had struck resistance in the form of magic. Oh well, all bets were off then.
"Wanderer shield me from the blades that rush to strike me." Ray's prayer caused a ring of light to form around his feet and a soft glow to emanate from his body.
"Let's see what else you've got Sarne."
Ray rushed forwards again, this time paying no mind to defense. He swung the larger saber overhead, striking from the right and bringing it across Sarne's torso before turning and slashing with both across his stomach from left to right.

Many did not know that Sarne had made the highest sword status one could have by taking on the four instructors at the school and passing their test. Sarne had been holding back for some reason even though he did not understand. Ray was a friend it was not in Sarne's nature to hurt a friend and one weakness his father always told him he had.
Sarne saw Ray coming. Sarne let out a slow breath as Ray's blades came on at him. Ray larger saber overhead, striking from the right. Sarne caught Ray's sword with his parrying dagger and as it ran down Sarne's parrying dagger caught it in the guard and twisted it locking the blade in place. With the smaller blade coming from the left Sarne used the flat part of his Kukri dagger to knock the blade away. still moving in and letting Ray also close Sarne launched himself into Ray at the last second instantly closing. Now being chest to chest Sarne brought his knee into Ray's groin and hit him with enough force to bring him off the ground.

The speed and skill that Sarne reacted with surprised Ray The forceful strike to his groin may have been extremely painful, enough to top most men, but as a healer he'd come back from far worse and kept on fighting. Ray let go of the larger saber, locking onto Sarne's wrist to control the dagger. His other hand tightened around the young warrior's back and he pulled him tight against himself. As Sarne was pulled in Ray slammed his forehead into Sarne's with all the force he could muster. Next he used his left leg to trip Sarne as he pushed against him following the head-but. He hoped he could force him to the ground and use his size as an advantage in the ensuing grapple.

Sarnes eyes widen as he sees Ray's forehead hit Sarne's forehead. His ears rang his vision blurred. Sarne started to stumble back. Sarne always forgot about Ray's brawling ability. This time Sarne paid the price. A lesson that Sarne will not forget. Sarne felt him self falling as he could feel Ray's leg behind him here comes the kill shot Sarne thought as he felt the inpact of the sand at his back as he hit the ground. Sarne still could not forces vary well his ears ringing his head started to hurt he could feel blood trickle down his for head. The fight was over and Rays Experience won this challenge. Sarne felt happy for some reason and relived that it was over.
Sarne did not have the fear of losing like be for He felt like he had grown some more now. Something in side of Sarne said good job you did your best.
Sarne was the next move coming from Ray. "Yield" Sarne said with a smile putting his hands up in front of him.

As Sarne yielded Ray felt a tinge of sadness, he'd been enjoying himself. Fighting, especially against a worthy opponent, gave him a sense of purpose that pushed away and doubts or anxieties in his life. As the battle ended the rush of adrenaline started to slow and he felt the aches and tiredness of battle creeping in. He stood and helped Sarne to his feet, casting a healing spell to repair any damage he'd done in the duel. As Sarne was brought back to his feet Ray allowed Qil's presence to fade and returned to his normal appearance. He gave Sarne a quick bow of respect and a hefty pat on the shoulder.
"That was the most fun I've had in a while. I would be much happier if all my fights ended in a yield, all the fun of combat without the sadness of loss of life."
"You're very skilled, if not for The Wanderer you'd best me nine times out of ten." Ray gave Sarne a large smile.
Ray's small saber returned to its respective scabbard, the larger saber simply faded away in a pulse of white flames. With the fight over he leaned against a stone outcropping in the stadium and let himself relax. While they were here they might as well have a drink or two, he decided.
"Head to a tavern? I could use a meal after that, magic always makes me hungry." He stated plainly.

It was good that it was over Sarne was getting tiered as well and a good drink and food sounded great. "Yes food and a good drink will be great, friend." Sarne also sheathed his sword and other blades. "It was this way I believe." Sarne said with a smile walking towards the exit. Sarne knew he had to work harder on his skills. Now ranked one of the highest proficiency with blades he was well on his way. Sarne would have to see who he could recruit as well his reputation and becoming a commander or Captain of his own men and be come the Lord everyone wanted him to become. But is that what Sarne really wanted in life or did he want something a little more simple a quite life with a family.
End of Sarne's and Ray's fight. Be beginning of a new road in life.
