¨This looks... much, much faster than sailing... and-"
oh no, it's climbing
"-and much... stronger waves...."
it's climbing it's climbing
She almost wished that initial climb up that first hill went a little faster, despite wish that everything else didn't. This feels like it was designed specifically to prolong the fear, to make her anticipate what the worst of this is going to be like for as long as possible before it actually happens. Something like the march from one's jail cell to the executioner's block, this, if they ensured that distance and that walk were as long as they possibly could.
how much longer is it going to keep climbing
The harnesses are... all right, she can trust in those... she thinks. They're fitted well. She feels secure. She thinks. There's the chance the didn't account for her being a skeleton, but as long as the rough general size and body shape match....
wait is that the top of the hill there
Right. Well. She will just. Try to comfort herself with the idea that these harnesses should still work even if her body is more hollow underneath that cloak than the designers were expecting. It doesn't have to protect her from a crash, after all; just to keep her from fa-

"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!“
Marion screamed, very loudly, as the dive happened- the petals in his hair flying off in such a strong wind- but it doesn't really just sound like fear, but excitement also, adrenaline painting his rosy cheeks into a deeper blush as he clutched the safety bar before him. It was just as he had imagined and more- the vertigo and loops and going upside-down and tight turns, and elf laughed-screamed some more and ate a mouthful of wind but he did not mind it a bit.
It was somewhat dizzying, but it was fast and he can see the rails before him and where they lead- and the glimpses of the horizon over the fairgrounds and the buildings to the edge of the island to the sea, and it was breathtaking in every possible way.
And as all things, the cart slowed, and they came to stop- Marion's hair was utterly disheveled beyond point of saving, and the flowers and leaves in them were mostly lost during the ride, but this little elf that more resembles a mess of yellow cotton candy bounced off and spun himself in circles jumping-
"THAT WAS SO, MUCH, FUN-!!"
And he whipped around to look at Beak, with sparkles literally coming out of his smile- you'd swear if you reach out you'd be able to touch them.
"Did you see the view from up there? Oh, I would love to do it all again-"

As a skeleton, she doesn't have to breathe, can "scream" simply by telepathically projecting the sound, and has neither a heart to stop nor a stomach to churn as she faces hill after hill, loop after loop, sharp turns, more drops.....
In fact, during the ride itself, she's completely silent and inert. Sure, there's... probably a lot going on inside her mind, but as long as she's not casting that Message spell, it all stays in her mind. This means that, to the outside observer, Beak has this sort of curve where the more excited, terrified, frantic, or otherwise worked up she gets, she'll get louder and louder... up to a certain point, and then communication just stops as she's too overwhelmed to be able to keep the spell going anymore.
Without those cues, she's just a silent skeleton clutching the bar in front of her for dear unlife, but with no expressions, no words, her reactions are unreadable--is she still scared? Is she having fun now? Did she fall asleep? Anything in between?
It's only when the ride finally ends and the two step out of the carts once more that she starts to communicate again. Retrieving her walking stick from the locker and leaning on it in a way that isn't entirely feigned this time, she glances toward Marion as his questions roll off of her.
"I could feel the wind in my skull through my eye sockets..."

Marion did stop bouncing around as his energy is released and had to catch his breath, and then tilted his head at the wobbly way Beak said that.
"Oh, oh... do you need a sit-down?"
He seemed to become more conscious of the other's state now, and those large ears that were flapping stopped into a much more neutral position. "Are you doing alright? I didn't think... I didn't really think this through, did I?"
They couldn't loiter here for too long, since the next group is going to come through- and after getting all their things, Marion found a bench beneath a tree nearby and lead Beak over there to have a breather.
And he wondered what else he could do. If it were any other person Marion would offer to get a drink to help sooth the nerves, but Beak couldn't eat- and he doesn't know if talking more or talking less would be good. So he sat beside her and reached over to sooth down her back like one would stroke the fur of a cat.
"Is it any better now?- " You could see how he had again backtracked in his mind, and noticed things he haven't paid much attention to initially. "I... probably shouldn't have had you take the ride with me, I'm sorry."

The skeleton wobbles until she's seated down, safely out of the way, then leans forward at that stroking along her back. Does it do anything to soothe the dizziness? Not really, but it feels nice so she happily accepts the attention anyway, even broadcasting the a sort of rumbly happy-sound, like if lizard skeletons could purr. Are all undead this... touch-starved? She leans a little too far forward, though, and... well... for the fact that it's a fall, it's at least fairly graceful; she catches herself on her walking stick, then she's down on her knees, and then slowly flops down onto her stomach in a sort of spread-eagle position on the ground. At least you don't have to worry about her breaking anything from a fall like that; it couldn't have been gentler if there were pillows to catch her. It's not exactly a cause for alarm among anyone else in the area once she's down, either; anyone who looks her way at this point will see a passed-out person in a weird mask and likely assume she's just drunk. "Now this," she answers after a few moments of worrying silence, " this is a good ride. This... is my favorite ride, I think. The world is spinning... just the right speed, you know? It's... soothing, almost, like being rocked to sleep." Well, uh... at... at least she's... happy...? "... Marion," she says after finally recovering enough of her wits to remember the elf's name. "Don't apologize. I needed to face my fear. It wasn't the best experience I've ever had, no, but... I'd have regretted it if I didn't do it. I'm glad I did it. I'm glad I did... all of this. If it wasn't for you, I'd be sitting alone in a swamp right now. Thank you... you... saved me...." More silence, as if those final words trailing off signify a loss of consciousness. Is she truly all right...?
A few worrying moments pass....
"... And besides," she answers, right as things were starting to look scary again. "This world-spinny ride is pretty calming. You should try it. Ehehehe~"

Oh dear.
Marion squatted down beside the skeleton on the ground and sort of... gently poked at her with the butt end of Idun. She doesn't just look drunk, that sort of giddy laughing sounds drunk too. How could a skeleton get intoxicated like this Marion have no idea- not much of her is making sense, anyway, the whole rocking to sleep thing... or did she really fall asleep? Marion don't think he had heard the other's voice the whole way on the ride.
"Beak, I went on the ride with you- "
Reaching over and sort of rolling her over to lay on her back now, Marion held three fingers in front of her face with an somewhat exasperated, but relieved sort of sigh.
"Can you count how many fingers you see in front of you?"
The other's words are reassuring, none the less. Marion have so much that he doesn't know, and he understand that- and he had been forging forward with nothing but the simple urge to share all that he think is beautiful in this world with everyone. Sometimes he wonder if he was being too brash, or too self-righteous, or too overbearing- and he wondered if Beak, whom he had pretty much dragged along with him this whole time- was having fun, or if she wanted to be here in the first place.
"... you know, you saved yourself too, Beak- Thank you, for choosing to come with me. And there is so much world out there beyond the marshlands, beyond the sea, where the stars are strange. It is alive and singing with every passing day, and I hope you would want to see all of it too someday."

She's... not intoxicated, not really. How could she be? She doesn't have the... parts, for that. She's just... very, very dizzy. That, combined with her sudden tiredness yet... contentedness? is giving the impression of intoxication, perhaps.
"I see... thr- hey, hold still...." She tilts her head away from the fingers, as if she just saw them go... somewhere else, and is trying to follow them. But they're not there when she turns her head, of course. She looks back to where you're holding them. "... Three, I think. Gotta count fast, though."
So, she's not experiencing double-vision, but her field of vision is spinning, and whatever images she's seeing are just... not... holding still. It seems... consistent, though? Always moving in the same direction, and at the same speed. Maybe that's why she finds it strangely soothing. Well, the feeling of spinning. The sight of it would be enough to make her motion-sick, were she still in possession of a digestive system.
"I'll be fine, I just... maybe... shouldn't move for a while...."
She does have enough wits about her to ponder the words even if she has to... "close her eyes?" ... turn off her perception of vision, one supposes, to bask in the comfortable feeling without that much-less-comfortable visual effect.
"... I've been reaching out a hand for years, child. But you... Rena... the Blackfeathers... everyone... you were the ones who finally took it. I'm not... quite... used to being... a part of this world again. I mean... look at me, I tried to have fun on a simple ride in a festival and ended up like this! Ehehehe~" That was a joke. She makes sure to add in the emotional component to make that clear. "Seriously, though... I did have fun. And... I think... with you around... I could see myself having more fun in the future, too. It's... been a while since I could see that, even as a possibility."

Laughing abit, Marion opted to simply sit down beside her on the ground, and laced his fingers with hers. Just being there, taking their time, as the world moves past them- and none of them are in a hurry to go anywhere, to do anything.
"And there will be tomorrow, and many more tomorrows yet to come, and every day can be fun if you want it to be. Fun doesn't really come to you, you have to go seek it out and chase after it, but that's the whole point of having fun, I think. And you will meet more people that are good and they'll look after you, and- before you know it, you are not alone in this world anymore."
Giving her hand a little squeeze, Marion smiled.
"I am no good at history, but I may get to know the right people who could be of help- and you may too, and when you become the storyteller you have wanted to be, I would like to hear it all from you one day. Your herbs and regular array of crops, farming customs and calendar for the sow and the reap, your foods and the familiar taste and smell from your memories of childhood long long ago... I would like to remember them too."
And they sat and talked more, and this summer day seemed to stretch on forever, and there is so much more ahead of them- And while they are not in a hurry to go anywhere, do anything- they are allowed do everything they wished to, forever.
