The Aurea of plentiful grain were never warriors. His parents, his parent's parents- no one in his memory of his house were known for their martial prowess. But, Marion thought- there is nothing stopping him from learning, and perhaps he might be the first? It would be kind of funny for himself to become that, the mental picture of himself as this small fluffy elf just decking it out. None the less-
He have somewhat understood now, that being peaceful does not necessarily mean being harmless. Sometimes you would need to be able to twist someone's ear and get them to listen... right?
"You are already really wise, you know. And sharing that wisdom and knowledge is teaching- well, not everyone wants to learn, but you just need to find the people that are willing to listen and remember." Marion voiced his thoughts, while continuing making progress in stacking the tickets
"- Oh, I would love to! But I would probably be on the road again after this, and you'd need to search for history relics too..." The young elf's ears drooped, before he thought of something, and they perked right up again.
"Oh, oh, is it possible if you'd make a little instruction manual? I mean, just for the basic preparation that I would need to do? Like running laps and stuff, I've heard. And I can try and start to do that when I'm out there, and then when we meet up later you can check in on how I've done?"

She nods... she supposes each of the friends does have their own tasks to attend to. "I... I'm looking forward to this," she admits. "I'd like to be a teacher... a lot. Thank you."
She ponders what wisdom she can leave Marion with... everything she can think of is something she'll have to show him when the opportunity arrives. "Ah, anything you can do to improve your physical strength, speed, or endurance... those, I cannot offer you. I offer you technique, when the day comes... and I hope it will, soon."
"... I will leave you with this, I suppose. Until you have been properly trained, do not punch an adversary with a closed fist. At least... not without padded gloves, or some other form of protection." It's... seemingly counterintuitive advice; you're looking to learn how to fight, and she's effectively telling you not to? "Strength, speed, endurance. I'll show you the safer way to strike--I'll show you many things when you meet again. If I learn you've thrown an improper punch and broken your own hand in the meantime... that... will make things more difficult to work around."
"And... thank you. I don't think... I don't think anyone's ever called me wise before." Certainly not in her tribe, where she was just some uneducated warrior--a brute of a guard. Dumb muscle. And certainly not after her resurrection, when most people have been too busy screaming about how there's a skeleton attacking the village than stopping to check how wise the skeleton is.

Marion nodded, taking in that- He knew of conditions that had to be treated. Boxer's fracture, to be specific, and other cases of inflammation and tears and general unpleasantness, and how it would be quite difficult to sing himself a heal in these nerve-packed parts since the pain would break concentration.
"Got it- I'm looking forward to that as well! I will definitely be back at King's Valley next year's springtime- maybe we would meet up then? But oh, there are always chances we'd run into each other before that!"
He didn't seem to be too sad about the idea of parting ways- but rather excited for the promise when they would meet again. Reaching over to hold her hand, Marion smiled.
"I'll sleep well and eat well and exercise- and then I'll be the first one ever to learn how to fight in my whole family too! It'd be new for the both of us."
The tickets were counted and stashed already, and the festival went on around them, and the sun elf was never in a hurry. He held her hand, looked into those empty sockets under the hood and his eyes have the loveliest crinkle when he smiles.
"You are always wise- no one can ever see the world the same way you do, and extraordinary in everything that makes you- you! You just need to let yourself talk more, perhaps, and people would begin to see."

Now the sun elf is just trying to make her blush. Can skeletons blush? Well... the telepathic equivalent, perhaps.
"You'll do your family proud," she answers happily... but then her tone changes. She just thought of something, and it's... well, it's not bad. She's not sad or angry or upset or... there's no negative emtion at all, here. She's still honored to be considered as a mentor, even. But it's... serious. She has something important to say, and she wants to make sure he understands its importance.
"You know... there are a lot of ways to fight. So many types of weapons in the world, and even more ways to use them all. I'm only one trainer of one option, and.... I might not be the right one for you."
This sounds like she's turning down his request for training. She's not. She would love that, actually. But she needs to give this speech first, is all. So, she tries to clarify. "Some people are really strong and they want to hit things really hard--they're best suited for warhammers or the like. Some people want something quick, elegant, almost like a dance... rapiers for them, perhaps. There are even those who say a quick dagger between the ribs from the shadows before the fight even starts is the surest way. My style... my approach...."
"Unarmed combat is for people who want to defend themselves when all else fails. When you're all out of mana for your spells or arrows for your bow. When you have to surrender your sword at a checkpoint and someone jumps you before you get it back. When you've been roaming Marsh Flats for fifty years and no one will even talk to you to sell you a weapon because you look like this." She leans a little close, just to illustrate her point. "My way has served me well when nothing else would--when no one else wanted to. But... your way may have another value it holds more dear, a different philosophy it preaches."
"You wanted an assignment before we met again, right? Something to work on, something for me to check in and see how you did? Try this... find other trainers with other styles. Find a swordsman, an axe-wielder, whoever, anyone who can give you a speech like this about what their way is all about. Because if they can't, then they're not a good trainer." An amused grin-equivalent. "And if you can come back next time we meet and tell me what you learned, what you thought about the other ideas, and why you still think my way makes more sense... that this is the teaching that works best for you... then I'll be delighted to teach you everything I know."

"I'll do my best, and I'd share everything I have seen and learnt on my journey too! I just hope you won't get annoyed because I'd be talking a whole lot then!"
Saying that abit cheekily, Marion thought about it too- these are some really good points that the other was making, and he shouldn't make decisions before he understand what all the other possibilities and choices are out there.
"Even though I can't really see myself with something like, a huge axe... but then I don't think anyone would expect you to actually punch people and be really good at it. You have this whole- old lady crackling as she casts magic with her staff- aesthetic with the hood and the walking stick and all, and people are just going to assume, but instead you can catch them off guard like this."
The thought seemed quite funny in his head, and Marion chortled at it abit all in good nature. And then his thoughts jumped again-
"-I've just counted the tickets, and it's much more than enough for trading in for a prize! But I do want to try out something before that, if you'd want to try it too."
Tugging Beak's hand to get her attention and pointing- you could see it was one of the centerpieces of this fairground, a mega construct of wood and rail and magic that makes the tracks change seemingly randomly with every moment- and there are people in carts that goes up and down and around these tracks at really high speeds. Just now they hit a huge drop, and the faint screaming can be heard all the way over here.
Marion looked back at Beak expectantly.

"... Just the other day, I ran after a dragon," she answers, indirectly, in an eventually-meandering-toward-her-point sort of way. "... Well. It was a shapeshifting... something, but the first form it took was a dragon. And I didn't even hesitate. Didn't even think about it. I'm a warrior. That's what I do. ... Also I was trying to impress a crush." She coughs. "But I wasn't afraid at all. Even if my life could have been in danger, I didn't feel it at all."
She glances toward that contraption, the way the carts are swirling around, faster and faster....
"... I'm going to be honest with you, child. That. Looks. Terrifying."
She walks toward it, following you... slowly... very slowly...
"... and I had my disguise off to fight the dragon. There were people all around, I was totally exposed... and I still did it... I faced that fear. I haven't taken my disguise off in public... ever, I don't think, but I did it. So I can do this, too. Right...?"
Another step.
Another.
"I can do this, too, because I am a very brave and proud warrior of the Ibekki and I can handle things like this or asking Rena out because I'm brave and I can do this, I can do it, I can... do it...."

"- wait, you have a crush on Rena?"
Marion asked, looking back at Beak. There was a level of surprise and also a whole lot of curiosity- he had never really seen dating in action, so to say, and is entirely intrigued to know how it works. He know all about animal courtship, but people courtship is quite different and he had only seen them in fiction- which isn't really reliable reference.
"Did you tell her yet? Are you dating? What do people do when they date- will you kiss? Or is there something else you do instead because Rena have a beak and you are mostly bone... Dada and mama kisses very... loudly and it's kind of weird so I never really asked them about it. Are you going to date Bell and Nevermore as well? Does displaying work? I mean you can't really fly or puff your feathers, but regular crows tend to dance and strut and sing softly, like you know crows don't have a soft call, but this courtship 'rattle' song is uniquely gentle- "
He thought for abit, and nodded to himself. "Gifts of food and generally nice things would probably be nice too! I mean, flowers and glittery things and something the family can share... oh, I remember them liking to eat spiders alot! Those who can, at least. Maybe you can start catching spiders you come across and put them in a jar?"

"I, uh..."
Mental images of making out with the Blackfeathers flood her senses and briefly get her so flushed that her telepathy just, stops, while she... uh... recovers.
"T-that is... yeah, we're dating, all of us. I, uh..." Oh sweet scales, how to explain this? She feels like she's giving "the talk" to a child who doesn't understand where eggs come from yet. "I didn't have to do anything... quite like that... I was just, you know, nice to them? Like just being friends and stuff, only that level of... how much we like each other, what good friends we are and everything, kind of... grew... more. Into love."
"... But there was some displaying, I guess you could call it, yeah. Like, when that dragon attacked? They wanted me to stay behind and stay out of harm's way, but I wanted to show them I was tough and good at fighting and I wasn't going to hold them back or anything, I kind of... uh... got hit right in the face with this big beam attack, which hurt a lot, because I was rushing headlong into battle to try to impress them. But it worked! They were impressed, and now we're dating. So it was totally worth it."

"Oh... are you alright now? No fractures or anything?"
He seemed more concerned over her wellbeing and immediately stopped heading forwards, turning back to cup her jaw bone and check for any remaining injury a skeleton may obtain.
"You must be more careful... not having any soft tissue to cushion a blow is particularly dangerous, even if you won't get any internal bleeding- lizardfolk are on the side of a lighter bone density, so you ought not to forget to take care of yourself too! If you do sustain an injury directly to a limb- say, the wrist gets shattered with blunt force and broken off- you have a big chance of losing that hand as well since there's nothing else holding it to you, and limb-restoration magic is very, very painful. I don't want you to go though that, ever, if you could help it."
Marion looked at you with nothing but sincerity and concern in those eyes.
"Promise me that, ok? That you'll be mindful of this going forward? Let me sing you a verse, just to be sure. It may hurt abit if there is anything to grow back or to fix- if you would allow it."

She allows herself to be examined, even babied a little by the treatment, because... well, the attention feels kinda nice, really. It's been so long since she had someone care this much about her, and even just simple basic touching like cupping her jaw bone to check for injury... it's a pleasant feeling, for someone who's still not used to touch after all those years of isolation.
"Mmm... you know, I... didn't know that, actually? About the bone density, I mean. I'll... have to keep that in mind. I don't particularly want to lose a hand... I need these hands, for my fighting." She gives a soft, playful giggle. "... Seriously, though, I don't... think I have any major lingering wounds, but there could be some minor scratches and stuff... if you'd like to sing for me, then by all means. I'm... flattered, truly." SHe can't exactly say when the last time anyone did that for her was, either.
"You seeem to know a lot about caring for skeletons... have you been studying? I remember you saying you wish you knew more about skeletons last time we met...." If he'd actually looked into that just for her, just from the experience of working with her, that would be... well, that'd be yet another thing that's unexpected and flattering. Most people try to kill skeletons, not heal them. Or... she thought they did, anyway. They did in her time, at least.

"Everyone have a skeleton inside, but I couldn't find much material on how to treat someone that is only skeleton and nothing else- most of that is about how to re-animate them, and maintenance thereafter did not seem to be a topic for study. But I do know how to heal broken bones in people, and I think some of those texts gives me a better understanding about how to go about it- now. Please bear with me."
Marion sang, lowly, and it is hard to make out words- Idun cradled in his arm slowly unfurled itself as he did so. The magic is tangible, when he is touching you like this, and it flowed from his hand into you and spread all over your body like the feeling of being warmed in a bath, soaking through to the bone.
And it washed over like that, putting it's energy to places that had sustained any damage- there is a slightly itchy feeling when the knitting happened, and a more sharper pain if it's more than a scathe, but Beak proved to be in quite the good shape given how long she had been around with bare bones exposed to the environment, and most of the spell went to her feet which was more worn from use over time.
Seemingly satisfied, Marion closed the clause, letting the music fade, and retracted his hand.
"All clear."

"Hhh-!!"
He... was not kidding about how that song could... tingle, perhaps even sting a bit. And the wounds it healed were relatively minor, all told. That... wow. Still, she felt... better. Much better.
She'd... completely forgotten about her feet, in truth. In life, her kind was not particularly kind to them; she'd always been the type to walk barefoot over rocky terrain and such, on purpose, because the conditioning strengthened and conditioned them in much the same way one would build muscles through training with weights. There was even an Ibekki expression for determination or willingness to rise to a challenge that, roughly translated, meant something like "The (path/road/ground) may be hard, but my feet are harder."
She'd somehow completely forgotten that as a skeleton, that same treatment would wear the bones down, not build them up.
Or is it, perhaps, both? She'd been carrying on like that for fifty years with only very minor wear the spell had to heal, after all, and (she imagined? maybe? unless she's wrong?) a lesser skeleton would have been worn to stumps down there by now. So, maybe she'll keep to her ways after all, but... the rejuvination is nice. She feels... well, like worn-out parts are new again for the first time in decades.
"That's... powerful magic you have, dearie. I may ask you for that one again the next time we meet."
"... And you have a lovely singing voice, too," she admits with the small telepathic equivalent of a blush.

"I would insist, even if you didn't ask- but considering your condition and the negligence of not having proper healthcare over such a long period of time, I would say you have proven yourself to be much more resilient and possibly have more self-repairing functions than I thought. I'd take that into mind with further research."
Marion seemed thoughtful, and then shook his head in a quick motion much like how an animal would shake itself down, most likely shaking himself out of a tirade that is going on in his own mind most likely about Osteoporosis treatments
"- oh, thank you... It's nothing special, we just sing our spells like this. Dada says his own father's brother have nigh to none musical sense and everyone in the family have to suffer though his catastrophe of a song when they want to have something mended- prompted him to go and learn to be a healer himself, perhaps- but the song picks up as it gains momentum and sings surrounding magic into itself, I have come to notice. There are many interesting avenues of opportunity to explore if we can begin to utilize this- Like having two different songs at the same time, letting the first one ride it's momentum like how a paper bird you throw won't land so fast, but glides! And when it's about to land we can go back and give it the push it needs, or close the song properly. It's just something that had been in my thoughts for a while, and maybe the mage's guild could give me some pointers to help figure it out."
They had began walking again, and Marion took Beak's hand once more- he hadn't forgotten about the roller coaster, oh no.

"Hmm... peculiar, but... interesting. I do hope the Mage's Guild can sort that out. It seems like the sort of thing they might be interested in... I hope." In truth, none of that is within her realm of expertise; she has her telepathic and telekinetic powers, yes, but she's never had formal training in the Mage's Guild or any other sort of magical academy. Weren't the Mage's Guild supposed to be working with the crown, too? Or was it against the crown..? She shakes her head. All of that... political intrigue and such. That hasn't been her scene since she rose from the dead. The last time she tried caring who won some struggle for control or another, she died and then both sides of the entire struggle were gone anyway, along with almost an entire continent.
... She's here to rid herself of that depression, though, not wallow in it. She walks toward the roller coaster now with at least slightly more confidence in her steps... it's still terrifying, of course, but she will face this challenge because she is very brave and strong, so help her. And... the kind elf's words do seem to be helping to soothe her nerves, somewhat. (Or... whatever skeletons have instead of nerves? ... Her metaphorical nerves.)

The two of them paid for the entry tickets with their festival coins- there was no height requirement whatsoever, which makes sense since there are full grown halflings barely the height of a doorknob, and magical safety harnesses have proven to be much more customisable to the person- and they got in without much questions. Partly thanks to the fact that the capitol are already packed with all sorts of peculiar people and even more so at a festival, with people dressing up all sorts of ways to the celebration as well.
Marion left his things at the provided lockers, before hopping into the front row of the carriages, the magical harness fitting him snugly- and he wiggled around in excitement, barely able to contain the sparkling aura that seemed to become physical than figurative- as his ears flapped and he rubbed both cheeks with his palms.
“Oh, this will be so much fun- C’Leena flew me here over the traffic and it was really awesome, but this looks like it would be like ten times more intense than that! And we’d be able to see the whole place from way up on the peak! Once you get over the nerves it would be just fine- well, just like sailing! It’s not so dizzy after the first moments.”
