"It's a spicy rice-based dish. Prawns, chicken, sausage - that sort of thing. Shit I need to figure out the recipe here.. I only know the one with ingredients from my old home and.. Most of those aren't exactly accessible here, or are so incredibly expensive. Spices, man.. Pricey."
As Marion explains the foods that he enjoys, C'Leena found herself more and more amused by how food-centric he was. Truly, the way to this kids heart was through his stomach. Now, it doesn't miss her that there's a damn good chance that he's older than C'Leena, but she can't help but see him as a kid, with how excitable and unbothered he is. She's almost jealous.
"Yeah, Rose would've absolutely adored you." She notes with a soft chuckle. "She was much of the same mind. Brilliant cook and loved to feed those that passed by. She would've started up a soup kitchen if she had the free time to do so. But I do want to ask you something,"
"When you say there's respect with not being wasteful, you said it in a way that it's less toward the person who made the food and more to those that provided the ingredients. The plants and animals n' whatnot. But with food that can expire and aren't artificially preserved, they eventually decay and become fertilizer for wherever they lay." She says curiously. "So in the end, the result is the same, is it not?"
C'Leena's understanding on how everything functions in nature is still elementary, but Nephele has been helping her plenty with understanding the goings on in the natural order of things. The doctor has always been the type of person to ask questions and challenge the ideas that don't quite make enough sense to her. From the day that she entered school to now, she's been an inquisitive individual, yearning to learn everything there is to learn. This is no exception.

Marion tapped his chin.
"While you can say that- well, it's still not optimal. We are all essentially eating the energy from the sun, and a good portion of it is lost with every level it goes up- grass, into cattle, into a wolf, into bacteria and fungi- as heat that is just released into the air."
That is the current consensus, at least, from the publishing that Marion had been able to study- but the logic behind it is sound.
"There is always less predators than prey animal, you'd observe. Wasting energy that is perfectly good to eat, pouring milk down the drains- oh, don't get me started on the chain reaction that will happen in the water! The sudden influx causing an algae bloom, pulling oxygen from the water, blocking sun from above- it's just really horrible."
He sighed.
"There is a time and place for everything, see, too much fertilizer will cause a plant to burn from it... that's what we are set out to do, really. To teach people how to do it correctly, at the right intervals, how to watch the signs and consider on a longer effect than the imminent- If we want to keep reaping the luxury of choice from the earth, all the more care should be placed so that we won't lose it soon."
