The spring breeze through the glade was pleasantly cool, a small reminder of the winter that had passed not so long ago. Gwendolyn sipped on an ornate teacup watching the morning go by. She was technically here for research, but since others were already hard at work deciphering the Desolate Knights mysteries, she figured a small break couldn’t hurt. Though, she couldn’t help but feel like something was off. The clatter of work being done and theories being discussed had died out at some point and she had failed to notice until now. Must she also perform the work of foreman here? Were the guild egg-heads so lazy that such critical study could fall by the wayside? Obviously, she must investigate. Approaching the work area, there certainly was more than a slight amount awry. Several researchers were busy chasing or swatting away what looked like a gang of flying haygrass dolls that peasants would give their children. An odd sight to be sure… but an entertaining one to say the least. An exasperated looking researcher looked, and saw her giggling at the theatrics. “Aren’t one of you going to do something about this?!”
Guild: Winged Expeditionary Force Participants: Exactly Two Location: Sunshade Glade Post Requirements: 5 posts per person, 200 words per post Reward: +1 Renown - Anyone +1 Mystical Archive ticket - Guild Member +1 Towards Guild Quest requirements - Guild Member Description: Whatever is responsible for bringing the Knight back to consciousness has seemed to leave an essence around it, a Fae like energy that has attracted other Fae beings. Hordes of small Nibblenynh have flooded into the Grove and are spending a lot of time around the Knight. The energy is causing them to act up and become even more annoying than normal. They are pestering the other guild members while they attempt to do their work, distracting them and making it hard to learn anything. The W.E.F is asking members to help control the Fae pest problem without violently hurting them, quelling any pesky shenanigans the Nibblenynh have gotten up to. Additional Information: The creatures are non violent in nature and are really just being annoying. The sudden spur in their whimsical side must be fueled by something, but what could be causing it? The Nibblenynh General Appearance: Tiny fae standing at about a foot tall who are curiously bug-like in appearance; Nibblenynh tend to have multiple arms, with the most common number seen being four-armed Nibblenynh, and the rarest being eight-armed. These entities always wear masks of wood or bone and wear naturally-woven clothing of reed and grass which covers their entire body, leaving nothing but their multiple arms and thin, whip-like tail exposed. Nibblenynh often have multiple eyes, with multiple hidden behind their masks. Masteries: Magic, Trickery, Illusion Strange, mischievous, and trouble-making; the Nibblenynh have been determined to originate somewhere from a fae realm. After the shattering of the Sol Stone, these small fae began to appear all around Charon; they regularly find their homes in taverns, inns, and other already established buildings which often contain established residents, taking residence in them through invisibility, stealth, and camouflage. Occupancy of a Nibblenynh can be determined, or guessed, in multiple different ways: most often, sighting of a Nibblenynh, or repeated instances of missing, misplaced, broken, or tampered with objects. The Nibblenynh are considered hearth fae; they are notably attracted to locations that Charonians might call home. However, many Charonians consider them annoyances and home invaders; and by treating them as such, unintentionally enact the wrath of these fae by disrespecting them. The Nibblenynh, like many fae, will hold grudges; and will enact elaborate revenge upon those who have slighted them. Some slighted Nibblenynh have been reported to have released livestock; tampered with, stolen, or broken items; switched room numbers in inns and taverns; and in more extreme cases, kidnapped homeowners or their loved ones to the fae realm. If treated well and left offerings of milk, bread, or honey however, the Nibblenynh will often leave homeowners gifts; coins, returned items once stolen, and other trinkets and knick-knacks; occasionally, Nibblenynh will clean, maintain, or fix household objects; and bring good luck. However, the cons often outweigh the pros when it comes to a Nibblenynh, or multiple, within a residential space. While some Charonians tamper with these fae relationships, leaving out offerings in hopes of good luck or simply staying their wrath; others take more drastic measures by banishing the Nibblenynh from homes with the use of iron, witchcraft, and reverse trickeries. Nibblenynh without a residence to haunt will oft seek another, and if they cannot find one, will return to their point of origin. Small colonies of rogue Nibblenynh can be found occupying spaces around strange, circular formations within nature; these circles may be mushrooms, trees, rocks, or any other natural object; portals to the fae realm which Nibblenynh are known to lead individuals through using illusion and trickery. The rogue Nibblenynh seem reluctant to build their settlements, or perhaps, have no interest in doing so within Charon— instead, they float through their domains, seeking adventurers and travelers to harangue— or to cling to, returning with them to a place of residence to haunt once more.

Galvynn was not up to speed with the Winged Expeditionary Force or their work, but he did hear people complaining about little fae creatures making a mess of things. Inhabiting the space that he does meant the rare person that knew even the slightest bit about Galvynn would come asking him for help. The Guardian of Moonveil was a nature spirit after all, so he should be able to speak with the fae right?
And that was how the druid found himself dragged towards the work site. He could only help but laugh gently as well. They should be counting themselves lucky they have only drawn the attention of tricksters and playful sprites. There are plenty of other creatures that could pose much more of an issue.
"Suilad, dilthen ones, are hain bothering cin?" He reaches out a hand as he speaks an old, old form of an elven language.
A nibblenynh cocks its head and flies to him, standing in Galvynn's hand, "ú- bothering, but hain are boring. Hain don't anír- na teilien, but i makes ha more fun an ammen."
The hermit and the fae share a little laugh between each other. He was right, they are just simple fae friends looking for fun. Convincing everyone else of that was going to be tricky.

One of the creatures floated it’s way to a very… rural looking man, before sharing some small laughter. Were they… speaking with each other? Interesting, maybe this country bumpkin can get rid of these pests so everyone can get back to work. It was time to turn on the charm. Gwendolyn fixed the stray hair off to the side of her head by pulling it behind her ears, and approached in an unassertive manner. These peasants could be jumpy around noblewomen like herself, so best to be safe than sorry. She waved at the young man with the creature in it’s hand, a big disarming smile on her face. “Hi there! Cute friend you got, though I imagine they must be far from home… maybe we can help them find their way back?”
The research foreman seemed mildly annoyed at the diffident approach, though he was quickly distracted by two of the creatures picking up a rather large research scroll and holding it over the camp well while giggling. These creatures were nothing but a nuisance to her, an annoying obstacle that she wished could be dealt with by way of smoke and poison. Unfortunately, anything harmful might affect the research, so diplomacy it was.

"What did i smellui adaneth ped-?" The nibblenynh looks towards Gwendolyn before looking back to the druid.
Galvynn stifles a laugh, not yet catching on that she doesn't understand the conversation, "She asked if cin were lost, ceri- cin baur help finding bar?"
"Hi na- bar."
He looks towards Gwen and shrugs as if that decides it. It is somewhere in that confused silence that it does finally dawn on Galvynn that she has not been understanding the conversation. OK, he could bridge this.
"Te eques i sina na- their mardi." The druid attempts a more recent form of elvish before shaking his head, "Sorry, let me try one more time like humans talk....These folk say this is their home."
There. Nailed. Perfect human interaction Galvynn, good job. He grins, very proud of his impeccable social skills. In the distance, a rune badger has started to plod into the scene. Bucky has also taken an interest in the work being done here. He sniffs at the air and bumps past researchers as he waddles around.
"Oh, hey Bucky! Don't make a mess ok?" Galvynn looks back towards the creature who is pawing at a supply crate.
The researcher looks to the two other humanoids, walking over in a huff, "Are you getting rid of theses pests or not?"

Oh great. This peasant has obviously spent far too long in the woods than with civilization. He’s even almost forgotten common… poor thing. And he’s even got some of the wildlife following him in. It’s musk was acrid to her sensitive nose, it was all she could do to avoid gagging in the young mans face. Instead, she turned to address the researcher. “Yes, Yes! Just a moment please”
Her eyes return to the man and his little annoyance. They locked onto the woodland peasants own, and peered deeply. “We’re friends aren’t we. I think these creatures have had enough fun, don’t you think it’s time for them to go?” (1) She says, words laced with hypnotic magic. The scent of smoke from her hip censer was sweet and disarming, more than enough to knock this country bumpkin into doing what she wanted. With that, she turned back around to face the foreman. Her expression was exuberant as she informed the work party. “Alright! Our friend here will take care of the problem momentarily. This small distraction will soon be over and we can all get back to work.” Gwendolyn says whilst beaming with misguided pride. Powerful Presence Once per topic, you may make eye contact with a target and cause them to become hypnotized by your mere presence. If you, or your target, are unable to see, this may be used similar to a touch spell. A hypnotized individual will follow your commands without question, believe everything you say, and see you or themselves as whatever you ask them to. A hypnotized individual can be induced to fear you or be charmed by you; they can be asked to do certain tasks; or coerced to believe something is real that is not with ease. If you physically harm this individual, this effect will drop. Powerful Presence will last for three posts before the target returns to normal.

The smoke does little except elicit a small sneeze from the druid which scares away the one nibblenynh from his hand.[1] He frowns softly but lets it go, it probably wanted to go back to his friends and Galvynn wasn't going to stop that.
He would stop Bucky from knocking over writing supplies with his nose as he sniffed towards a sweet smelling wine, "No, come on." He chuckled as he gently guided the badger away.
The boy and his badger stand in the middle of the research area with a curious look. A few nibblenynh drift towards Gwendolyn, trying to flip her veil over her face or toy with the hem of her dress to trip her up. Others are busy stealing quills and making tiny ink footprints on scrolls.
"There's no where for them to go, you all came into their home. You seem like nice people, that's the only reason I'm not asking you to leave, but if you want to be here, you're going to have to work with them. Have you even tried talking to them?"
He looks earnest at the group, of course no one had actually tried that. Why would they? They are big, important researchers. They have no time for games.

Her smile quickly faded into one of annoyance. Was this man too simple to be hypnotized? Or was this his method of obeying? Who was he to imply a cooperation with pests such as these. Gwendolyn had several questions about his methods before turning her attention to swatting away the pesky creatures grabbing at her loose fabrics. Their tiny hands almost managed to make her flash the entire camp before she got a hold of the blouse. The blush of embarrassment was evident even through her silvered veil. Enough is enough. Important work was halted right now due to these pests, and it was time to put an end to it. She pulled a vial of black liquid out of the pouch on the small of her back. Popping the cork, she poured it into the censer on her hip. The smoke turned dark and stygian, exuding a foul odor that surrounded the noblewoman.(1) Slowly, she meandered to the middle of the clearing, to ensure it’s scent reached all of the nibblenynh. “You wish us to speak? So be it. HEAR ME, CREATURES OF THE FAE. LEAVE THIS PLACE, YOU ARE NO LONGER WELCOME HERE.” She bellows, her voice as intimidating as she were capable of. 1 Wisteric Ammonia Incense (enemies targeted, nibblenyhn) Crafted A single vial of liquid. When applied to a person, it releases a cloud of gas which extends outwards in a ten-foot radius. Enemies who breathe in this gas will be under the Fear effect for the next three posts. During this duration, for as long as they can see the user, they will see the user as a visage of their primal fear; this effect ends early if the user leaves their range of sight.

Unsurprising to anyone there, the nibblenyhns immediately retreat to the druid for safety. Some hide behind him while others dive for the safety of his coat, hiding inside it or digging themselves into pockets. He gives them a moment to settle as Bucky has wheeled around, hackles raised.
Arcane sigils arc along the badger's body, a rare look at the ferocity the seemingly simple beast holds. He is quickly calmed by Galvynn putting a hand on his back and giving him a small smile. Bucky remains on alert, unsure of what the druid has planned, but putting his trust in his companion.
"As I have said a few times, this is their home and you have no right to come in and demand they leave, just as they would have no right to demand you leave your home. They are simple friends who have been more than kind to allow you to work here rather than attempt to chase you away as you are trying to do to them."
He keeps his tone soft as he lets out a breath, the tenseness of the situation not lost on him. Bridging the gap between creatures like the nibblenynhs and the human world was what he was supposed to do, keep the balance.
"If you are willing to apologize for intruding on their home, they will more than likely be willing to leave you in peace. Continue to try and evict them from their homes and I will step in on their behalf."

The audacity of this man, coming in here and trying to direct things how he sees fit. He’s not even part of the guilds. Some lowborn peasant here speaks for the pests and expects civilized society to submit? She was fuming, in more ways than one. Her eyes move towards the foreman, who had taken off his hat and held it in an apologetic stance towards the druid. “Listen, we don’t want any more trouble. We apol-“ “Silence” she interrupts. “That is enough. Do you expect the hunter to apologize to her quarry? Or the farmer to their stalks of grain? Nature exists for man to harvest. No matter the protests of the squirrels in the trees nor the foxes in the burrow, the forest still comes down around them. Feel free to represent them, but know I represent the crown.” She says, looking on the druid in disdain. Her maul’s burner ignites behind her, making the front of her darker and more imposing. A myriad of justifications for this behavior were roiling through her mind. Each one entrenching the noblewoman further into her position. Admit she might have been wrong? Might have taken the wrong approach? No. Diplomacy was attempted and failed. You can’t negotiate with wild animals.

"The crown, like all things, will not outlast nature, the forest may come down, but it will be reborn, despite everything, in time, nature will subsume that which tried to replace it."
As Galvynn speaks, the earth around them starts to tremor gently before building to a much more unsteady roll.[1] Through the small splits in the ground, plant life begins to flourish as creeping flowers overtake makeshift desks. Vines of ivy seem to swallow chairs and crates whole[2] but to a careful eye one can see there is no attempt to harm or restrain any singular person.
The display is not an attack nor is it meant to hurt anyone, just demonstrate a point. The small golden circles around his eyes flare as the magic reaches its peak. The tremors subside slowly as does the sudden flourish of plant life. Galvynn lets out another sigh as his shoulders relax back down, the nibblenynhs continue to nervously hide amongst his clothing.
"You are neither hunter nor farmer, people who give back to the land as they take from it. I am also not asking you to apologize to nature, but to these folk who have an equal right to exist as does everyone."

This was going nowhere good, fast, she thought as the ground shook and nature delved back from it’s recesses. Gwendolyn grit her teeth in anger, her only restraint being that a fight at an archaeological dig would certainly impact her status amongst the nobility. It was not worth the effort to put a lowborn in his place, she reasoned, and that alone brought her own tension down quite a bit. Gears began to churn in her head to make this guy look bad to the populace, and alleviate her responsibility of the situation at the same time. Her maul extinguished itself, and she turned the cap on the censer, ending the flow of black smoke. Her face turned smug and her eyes closed as she lifted her hands in defeat. “You are right, I suppose. It would be just as rude if they came to Sol City and told people to leave. My greatest apologies.” She said, before turning to the foreman. “It would seem that the local woodsman has taken direct responsibility for the pests and their actions. I would direct any further inquiry to him. I must report the status of the situation to my superiors.”
A quick turn back to the druid, and the smugness of her expression only increased, almost devious. “I look forward to meeting you again. Take care of Bucky will you.” And with that, A massive cloud of thick smoke exploded across the clearing, with which she used to make her escape. Father would absolutely be hearing about this. Smoke Field The Oniwanban have passed down many sacred arts and skills over the centuries but none is as feared as their Smoke Field technique. Once per topic you are able to generate massive amounts of smoke from your body, filling in the area around you with thick obscuring, black smoke. The smoke will remain for three post and can only be blown away by Exalted level wind spells. While in the smoke you can sense the movement and location of anyone else caught within its range.

Galvynn sighs as Gwen leaves, the nibblenynhs beginning to peak out from around him. The researchers look at the scene with confusion, their work hadn't exactly been ruined but things were certainly a mess. They had hoped having the woman would at least keep things even, but now they have been abandoned. For a moment they fear for their safety, though that fades when they look to Galvynn who seems to have grown oblivious to their presence again.
"Na- i smellui adaneth going na leave ammen eriol?" One of the fae creatures floats up to meet Galvynn's eye level.
The druid smiles, the serene and placid expression returning, "Cin are tríw dilthen ones, ha na- safe hi." He gives a gentle laugh, "Just trui ú- na bother hain too limb."
One researcher is finally bold enough to regain his voice, "W-we are sorry, We didn't think we were bothering anyone a-and we certainly don't agree with her threats."
"It is fine." As Galvynn turns to the researcher, the nibblenynhs fly from his coat and back to play in the ruins. "I'm sure she means well by your human standards. Just leave the little ones some food...honey if you have it, be kind to them, do not harm them and you should be OK. They can be a handful, but they are harmless. You're only at threat from nature when you don't respect it."
