Something’s been strange with the mushroom man recently. There’s nothing wrong with him, but BECAUSE he’s been so relaxed, I can’t help but think there’s something off with him. For all the months I’ve known him, he’s been on high alert, his field of view always seeming to be on the horizon, and urging us to move at least every few days. We’ve been circling this area for almost two weeks, the massive stone still breaking the horizon line a few kilometers away. I’m pretty sure he wants to take a look at it, but he hasn’t made any moves like that at all. Instead we’ve been circling around the rock, and he’s been looking at it with fascination.
It’s a nice area- it’s not so close to the desert that it’s sweltering, there’s a little creek nearby for water, the grass is thick, and there aren’t any bipeds trying to kill us. But, it smells like poop. That I'm complaining that it smells like poop is saying a lot- I grew up on a farm. It gets stronger as you get closer to the spire, but if satisfying my little stick man’s curiosity lets be drag him away from here an hour faster, then so be bit. So I reach down, gently grip his torso between my teeth, and start to trot towards the poop-smelling landmark.

Walking up and opening his eyes slowly Griffin felt a little different somehow. He was on his stomach instead of his back as Griffin would normally sleep. He yawned and stretched. He now knew something was wrong as he got up. looking down at his legs they had changed. Griffin lowered his head further Griffin now had four legs. Griffin's whitish fur coat and silver mane he could see with the part of the mane in his face. Griffin was a stallion "What the in the suns is going on?" Griffin asked himself. Walking over to the nearby stream and looking in the water. Griffin felt something land on his back Embers looked back at him. The small pixie tilted her head some. She said something that sounded like gibberish to him. Flare looked into his eyes which were Griffin's normal green. Embers smiled and she patted herself and said a word. Griffin shook his head up and down. Griffin knew this was going to be a long day. The small pixie started to laugh. "I least you make a cute stallion," said Embers with a big smile. "So Master Griffin who did you anger to have them turn you in to a pony?" Asked Embers half joking. Griffin let out a snort he was angry too at what had happened to him. he needed to figure this out and do it quickly. He did not want to stay a stallion for the rest of his life
Quest Name: Ring of Flowers Participants: Exactly Two Location: One of the listed locations below Post Requirements: 6 posts per person, 200 words per post Reward: +2 Renown, 1 Mystical Archive Ticket Description: Strange things are occurring around these newly formed flower circles and help is needed in understanding why. Unfortunately, as one of the first groups of people to explore these phenomena, we are unaware of any specific strange or weird side effects interacting with these rings may bring, so be careful. Study the flowers, record what you see, hear, or even feel. Special Requirements: Your investigations will reveal that these circles are not native to Charon and are coming from some other realm. They are Fae in nature and give off similar magical traces as the Fae creatures that currently live on Charon, although much stronger and more potent. Upon arriving at the location, you will find that strange things have begun to happen, not only to the environment but to you as well, with prolonged exposure to the circle increasing the effects. Before you begin the quest, you must choose one of the locations listed below to explore, with a specific obstacle attached based on the region. These added effects cannot be ignored and must be applied to your characters during the quest. While investigating the flowers, both members find that they have turned into a horse, a normal, nothing special horse. Somehow, they can still speak, communicate, and even cast spells, but are in the body of a horse. Lasts the entire topic.

As we drew close to the massive rock that loomed in the distance, I began to feel.. strange. And it wasn’t just because my stomach didn’t agree with the pungent smell of manure. The little guy in my mouth also seemed to notice something was amiss, and started to squirm. I put him down in the dry grass and dusty colored flowers. As soon as I put my head to the ground, the odor hit me like a punch to the gut. I turned my head to empty my stomach. My companion subtly inched away from me, before seeming to get entranced at the flowers. Lucky guy, he probably doesn’t even have a nose under that mushroom.
I raised my head, took a deep breath, and almost retched again. It was so bad I debated leaving him here to do his thing. But…What if someone else came along and accidentally ate him? Who would help me run away from angry bipedal creatures and pull burrs and porcupine spines out of me then? I shook my head. That would be bad.
As I shook my head, I noticed there was something not quite right. It hasn’t been quite right for a while now, and I only now figured out what it was
My horns are gone.
I looked down at myself and pranced around a little. I couldn’t feel my tails either, and my fur had gone from a bright red with yellow-gold accents, to a more muted auburn with accents that were more of a pale bronze.
What the horse?

Griffin ran around in the grass and then jumped over the stream of water. Embers were on his back and yelled "weeee" as they ran. Griffin slowed when he heard a noise not too far off. He stopped and walked to the top of a hill. Looking from the hill he could see a horse. It pranced around a little. Its coat was a muted auburn with accents that were more of a pale bronze.
Griffin did not see any other person around the horse. So what happened to him could happen to others. He was sent out here to look into some flowers that had been growing. Griffin sniffed the air as it blew by he choked and Embers coughed. "What just died," said Griffin trying to blow out the smell of his nose. The smell was like a dead animal that had been out in the sun way too long. It made Griffin almost throw up what was in his stomach. He moved off the hill and towards the other horse that was there passing some Brown and yellow flowers encircling the stone he was looking for. The flowers give off a very intense odor of something that had died. Griffin tried to hold his breath as he went by.
Griffin got close enough to call out to the other horse and stopped. Embers looked over the horse as well "Master Griffin, what do you think?" asked Embers sounding funny with her fingers pinching her nose. Griffin walked a few more steps.
"Hey, you, Yes you! With the muted auburn with The pale bronze accents. Did you just wake up as a horse too?" Griffin asked politely.

A low, humanoid’s voice sounded ("What just died,") and snapped me out of my panic. I looked up and saw a horse. Confused, I looked around again, but there was only me, this elderly stallion, and our respective companions. Perhaps the tiny fire-fairy with him was the one who had spoken? But even in the chimera farm, I’ve never met or heard of anyone who could fit such a large voice box into such a tiny figure…
Then again, the outside world was strange.
What was stranger still, was that the horse then opened its mouth and called out to me, with a low humanoid voice(“Hey, you, Yes you! With the muted auburn with the pale bronze accents. Did you just wake up as a horse too?”). A horse! With a humanoid voice! Looking again, I realized that his body language was kind of awkward. Very much confused, very much curious about me, but also not exactly horse- like.
Perhaps, this is not a horse with a humanoid’s vocal chords, but a humanoid, with a horse’s everything else. That would certainly explain the confusion. Thinking about it again, I realized that this made sense- after all, I wasn’t quite my normal self either.
Luckily, it seems that the call had shaken the little stick man out of his stupor. He looked up, looked back at the stinky little flower he’d been playing with, shook his head, then reached out to me and waved his little digits, indicating he wanted a lift. This time, wary of the strong odor, I held my breath, quickly scooped him up and deposited him on my back, then let it go. It was still unpleasant, but at least I could suppress the urge to retch.
As I trotted over the stick man clambered up my new bronzy mane. After he’d situated himself in his usual spot on my head (with some modifications, as I didn’t have antlers), he nodded to the human/stallion and started to gesticulate and run around wildly.
(Yes! Well, this guy here did. Do you have an idea of what's happened to us? We've been travelling around here for a while, but Thing only started to transform some time after we started walking towards that big rock. I don't think the rock is magic either, as we didn't hear anything like that in the human villages. Then again that was a few weeks ago. Do you have new news?)

Griffin backed up a few steps as the other Horse trotted over with some type of stick man in its head. Griffin pondered what could have happened and the questions the other horse asked Griffin. "I agree I do not think it was the big Rock either. I was sent here to deduce what was happening. No new news everyone is worried about what has happened here." explained Griffin in some detail.
A Pixie flies up and off of Griffin's back. She flies just in front of the other Horse and eyes the stick man then gives a bow. "I am Embers. I am glad to meet you. What is your name?" she asked the horse politely. Still hovering now next to Griffin's head.
Griffin shook his head and moved his main around to chase off the fly's and other insects. "The only thing I have deduced is. These have to be the worst-smelling flowers I have ever come across and not the best looking either. The stench in the air is horrible." commented Griffin snorting. "So, you have been here a week like in this horse form?" Griffin inquired about the other horse.
Griffin wondered how long this had been going on the magic effect of this area. There were rumors of other affected areas but Griffin was not sure if they were true there was a different effect each time someone would tell a story. So was this effect all over Charon? this made Griffin wonder.

In response to… whatever the stallion/humanoid and the pixie had said, the mushroom man restarted his gesticulating.
He looked at our shadows, rigidly swung his arm like a pendulum, then flicked up the digits on his arms ten times, then patted me (He’s been like this for about ten minutes). He then pointed to the sun, mimed picking something up, then flicked his fingers up seven times, made a circling gesture around his hands, then flicked up his fingers twice, before making a bigger circle, pointing to the land around us (Though, we’ve been circling this area for weeks). He patted my snout and made a cross with his arms (He wasn’t like this). Then, after a pause, he continued, almost as an after note. He pointed to himself, then to me, made little grabbing gestures with his fingers, and crossed his arms (Neither of us can speak). He made the same grabbing gesture again and shrugged (Call us as you like).
I wasn’t entirely sure what the little stick man and our two new acquaintances were talking about, but the stallion seemed more relieved. The mushroom man also seemed to have been able to rip his attention off the flowers, and was now shuffling around so much I had an irrational fear that I’d go bald. Now that I'd let them chat for a minute or so, I don't think that there's anything holding us back. I'd exhausted my entertaining thoughts of on nicknames and abbreviations (the stick man shall henceforth be referred to as Shrooman, and the horse-humanoid as Horsemanoid) AND random musings about horses and little people (this other guy has one too!), so now I was bored. That and I really wanted to get out of this stinking flower field
I greeted the other horse with a perfunctory boop to the nose, and gestured away from the flowers, before looking at the little guy on my head.
I whinnied. Can we get out of here now? Please?
