Mount Drakolt. Last time she visited, it had actually been a volcano that birthed a giant agent of destruction. Kamille still didn't know what to make of Vulcadreaus, but she had hoped to figure something out. As she watched what remained of the mountain from a distance, the Witch put a hand to Kalaf's scaly neck.
"Wasn't this the place you hatched? Aren't you sad it's gone?"
The black drake turned its scorching eyes towards her, blinking slowly.
"Sad? It was a long, long time ago. The world goes on, little one, despite of us. I loved the mountain of fire, but a hatchling will not be bound by the nest forever."
If Kalaf had been an old man, she thought he would be reminiscing about his young years. Instead, the old drake didn't seem to suffer much for the change of his birth place, or the way the entirety of Charon seemed shook.
The world goes on, despite of us.
"I'm gonna go talk to the locals first."
"Take your time."
Much as expected, the drake let out a small puff of fire and smoke to the ground, clawing at the scorched and hard earth to make for a warm, comfortable place to rest. After a couple of rounds around his own body, the giant black drake finally landed his protected belly against the ground, closing his leathery wings around his head like a tent. Without worrying much about finding a safe location, Kalaf just got himself comfortable to take his nap. There were very few creatures that would dare approach a drake as old and big as himself - the years that piled upon his hide had granted him as much peace.
Taking another glance at the crater that had once been a volcano, Kamille lowered her eyes to the small village that tried to recover under the mountain's shadow. Both the Golden Consortium and the Mage Guild had been whispering about strange activity around the crater - enough to get her attention as she was passing by the guilds halls.
Perhaps that was a good opportunity to pull at her connections, see which ones were meant to last and who was willing to come to her aid. Thus, she sent word for one who she had expressed her desire to mentor.
It's been a long time since she last saw Erik. She wondered if he would come...

Erik had gotten the invitation and was intrigued. It would be quite the trip and he made sure the Miguel and tulio would stay back in town and take care of things. With that he had begun his journey until finally he reached the proper town and as day broke he journeyed to the crater looking around before smirking as his eyes landed on the feminine frame of his ‘mistress and lady’ “did you miss me my desr lady?” He called to kamille as he approached her holding up the letter between his fingers before tucking it back into his pocket “I do apologize any tardiness quite the trip you know” he said though he didn’t seem sorry. His voice was playful and taunting as always
“So what do you need this time darling?” He asked with a smile as he looked around then back to her and her drake. He hadn’t seen the drake during their last visit but noted it and though he didn’t show his wariness of the large creature he didn’t show it on his expression. He had heard a few rumors floating around about the crater and strange happenings around it but hadn’t listened to most of it. He wasn’t truly one for gossip unless it was highly entertaining

Truth be said, Kamille was kinda surprised that Erik had answered. The young man seemed enthusiastic and joyful as ever, despite the long journey she knew he had undertaken on her behalf. Still, seeing his arrival brought a warm smile to her face.
"Ah! It was about time, dear! Don't worry, you're fashionably late, as you ought to be! I'm glad you came."
A playful glint on her eyes, Kamille looked delighted to be able to have company on that endeavor. The Witch approached to straighten the front of his coat, a habit of her, dusting it off of any ashes or dirt she might find. Although, to be fair, since the volcano was gone, the skies around the Ash Lands have cleared greatly. She wondered how much time it would take to have life sprouting back to the desertic lands, once covered in ash and soot...
"I'm not sure you know this about me, Erik, but... I adore the fae. I had a few friends among the fae back in the day, and one of them even taught me some Light magic! So, you must understand that the rumors surrounding this place... Well... Let's just say I'm very curious to understand what is going on around here. Specially... Specially after what happened here..."
Her eyes wandered to the crater that once was a volcano. She was one of the adventurers that happened around Mt. Drakolt when Vulcadreaus emerged, the battle still hazzy in her memories.

“Well fashionable is what I do best” he joked with a soft chuckle looking at her. Tensing a little bit at the touch of her dusting him off before he chuckled once more “can’t keep your hands off me my lady? Why what if someone saw?” He teased before looking around “I’d heard the mountain was gone yet it’s still hard to believe it even when the proof is right here.” He remarked with a small frown
Erik then turned his attention back to her and gave a nod “you’ll have to tell me more about your adventures with the far when there is time. But yes I don’t know if it’s a coincidence that all of this is occurring after vulcadreus. Granted I wasn’t there but I have heard the tale and what transpired.”you were there weren’t you? I heard whispered mentions of you in that battle. I’m sorry I wasn’t there to help them. But I’m here to help with this now” he said his tone a bit softer than usual not sure how she felt about the whole battle and revelations that had occurred here

Kamille chuckled at his provoking remark. If anything, his light disposition to taunting seemed to endear and amuse her.
"You might as well get used to it, sweetheart."
As Erik mentioned the incident with Vulcadreaeus, her mood seemed to shift a bit. Yet, it was not as charged as the encounter with the god of time and space, Ziev, had been. The revelations made there were... terrifying, and enlightening at the same time. An unexpected wrap up to a personal issue she had too. Kamille still didn't know what to make of Vulcadreaus' appearance, and was mostly curious and confused about it.
Curiosity killed the cat, they said.
I might as well grab me a thousand lives if I want to see everything there is to see here in this life...
She chuckled.
"Don't worry - we can certainly try to understand this now, investigating the crater. I really appreciate your help. Yes, I was here when the dragon came out of the volcano... It was... Interesting. Luckly, there were several other adventurers to handle the situation as well. I'm not sure what would've happened if..."
What, indeed, would've happened if the group of adventurers wouldn't have defeated the primordial being? She shook her head. Clearly, Vulcadreaus' battle was more baffling than traumatic for her. She motioned for Erik to follow along, as she started to wander off, her eyes attentive.
"I always loved the fae. This is why I was so interested in coming here... Have you seen a fairy before?"

“I suppose if it’s you I don’t mind” he replied with a wink to her comment rather enjoying the little nickname she had provided in her statement. It was nice to see her again and she was a decent person from what he could tell. Far more kind and generous than most he had met so far.
He listened quietly as she spoke about the incident. A bit of genuine concern in his gaze as he watched her expression. “I’m glad you were there to stop it. I can’t think of a more powerful person. I’m also glad you came back alright” he said with a small smile before following her thinking about her words and question “to be honest this is only maybe my second time leaving capitol landing so no I’m afraid I haven’t seen any fairies before. I’ve heard the stories however. A few old tales mentioned them I think. Their trickery and delights.” He replied. He remembered retelling the tales to the others as he would hear them whispered around the village. His reading was very basic so he could only gleam things from actual books he could find. He chuckled a little as he thought on the past “Miguel was always rather excited at the idea of seeing fae. Tulio only cared if they had something in their pockets”
