The outskirts of the city were unusually bright for once. Ancelmo's Travelling Circus was in town, and tonight was the opening night. Crowds bustled around the main tent, visiting the other attractions, carnival games, etc. as they waited for the main circus tent to open.
Saqine was in the back, behind the main stage, preparing herself for the event. She sat staring in the mirror as another fellblood worked on her makeup, styled her hair, and generally made sure she was presentable to the crowd. "Ayayay! Saqine, I told you to take better care of your hair! You are lucky you have me! Ancelmo would kill you if he saw you like this! What would you do if he fired you?! Unacceptable!" Saqine laughed. Maza, her caretaker, was like a mother to her, but she took these things much too seriously for her own good. "It's not like they'll be able to see it when I'm that high up! It's not like that one time when I got so close to the crowd someone was able to throw flowers at me. No idea what that guy wanted, honestly. Oh, I'll throw random objects at the flying acrobat. Great idea!. What a fool." She said with a sarcastic voice, sighing.
After a few more minutes, a human male bursted into the back room, a large top hat adorning his round head. "Ladies! Gentlemen! Positions! Get ready! We're opening the tent now! Hurry!" Maza sighed, stepping back from Saqine, hesitating for a moment. "It will have to do. You look stunning as always. Now go show em the mystical Saqine." Saqine stood, quickly running to her position on the high rope, scaling the ladder as the doors opened, and the circus master stepped out, shouting into the crowd. "Ladies and gentlemen! The circus tent is now open! Find a seat, and be prepared for the show of a lifetime!"

Somewhere deep in the back stage area, Elvira was tending to the performers. She had mostly been helping wrap hands, knees, and feet, or stretching out any rust the performers had from the time it took to travel. It was tedious, something that most people would find boring. Not Elvira. She actually found it to be a good change of pace from the bloodshed and death she witnessed every day. In fact, she was excited to have been requested for this. She cared not for the pay, but for the music, the atmosphere, and the performance arts she was able to witness.
When the call for the show to start rang out, she made her way to her designated area, a small cutout in the side of the stands made so that she could see the whole venue in case something were to happen. When she arrived, she began a small meditation, a prayer that all will go well and the performers be watched over and protected, or at the very least that she could fix whatever went wrong. Upon opening her eyes, what she saw stunned her…
Saqine, a gorgeous fellblood that stood out from the rest of the performers, in position and ready. The hair, the horns, the eyes… all entranced Elvira, and she wasn’t alone. The crowd seemed stunned. It wasn’t often that a fellblood made an appearance here, much less did one appear so confidently and with such a beauty and grace. The acrobat might as well have been the only one performing tonight.
As the show started, it seemed Ancelmo was set to make a staggering amount of Solars tonight.

As the crowd finished piling in, the room dimmed to pitch black. Shadows from above moved rapidly, before a woosh of flame appeared in the center, and from out of it, stepped Ancelmo. His voice boomed from the center stage, "Ladies, and Gentlemen. Boys, and girls. Beasts, demons, and you beautifully monstrous ilk. Welcome, to Ancelmo's Travelling Circus." A small hum fills the room, as a light beams down to the entrance from the backstage, slowly building in energy. "We have everything exotic. Creatures from far off lands, men who've fought giants, violent creatures that kneel to a word. Tonight, you will see things never seen before, and things that you may never see again. My question, dear audience. Are you ready?" He laughs, vanishing from sight. As described, creatures indescribable with words, men with muscles larger than a normal person's head, and snarling beasts, ranging from barghests to rune bears. A magnificent sight of worlds colliding. Atop of one of the creatures, Ancelmo rode in. "Welcome! To Ancelmo's Travelling Circus!"
Saqine smiled. This, was her favourite part. As the crowd focused on the creatures below her, she prepared herself. Taking a deep breath, she reached out to the trapeze, and took a leap, swinging down from the roof, whipping over the heads of the audience members. Upon reaching the apex of her swing, she moved to flip her body upside down, her tail grabbing onto the bar of the trapeze, swinging back over Elvira and locking eyes with her. What Elvira saw, was Saqine's dumb smile, stretched across her face. She loved her job. Clearly. As the trapeze swung back up, she pulled herself back with her tail, grabbing the bar with her hands, pushing herself up to be upside down, completely vertical. As she swings to the center of the stage, she leaps off the trapeze, landing perfectly in the sand, and bowing.
However, the poof of her landing caused one of the barghests to startle. As she leaped up, and catching the trapeze again, it was just barely too late, the monster leaped up, scratching her leg slightly. Not enough to end the show, but enough for her performance to be over, temporarily. She swung back up to the high top, and once she landed there, she looked more annoyed at the ripped fabric of her expensive outfit than the wound itself.

Seeing the commotion as Saqine’s landing caused the beast to strike out, Elvira stood and began to walk around the ring, sticking to the perimeter as she moved towards the staging area where the acrobats were at. She didn’t run, as she wished not to cause a scene nor draw attention away from the other performers, instead choosing to walk at a pace that made it seem more like she was moving to a better vantage point. When she reached the area, she placed a gentle hand on the lower back of the fellblood and spoke with a soft, smooth intonation.
“Hello, dear. I am Elvira Elendil, healer from the Temple of the Moon. Would you mind if I take a look at your leg? I saw the barghest give you a good run.”
As she kneeled down, placing a gentle hand on the leg and checking the depth of the cut, she continued to speak. “No joke, those beasts are. They can take a good chunk out of you, love. I’ve even heard whispers of groups cutting them out of performances for this reason, especially if the performance is anywhere near travelers or the barghest’s home region of Frost Gale.“
A moment of looking the wound over and she giggles softly, beginning to run a warm, glowing hand over the cut to heal it. “Sorry, lovely, I was allowing my mind to run. I haven’t been to a circus since I was a little girl, and even then they didn’t have feats of acrobatics quite as exciting as what you had done in just a mere few minutes. You should be healed up now. I unfortunately cannot say the same for your garments. However, there are quite a few incredible tailors in the city, it should not be hard to find one to either repair or replace the outfit!”

"Never seen magic like that before. You must have studied a long time, eh?" She said with a grin, watching as the circus continues from her vantage point. She looked up at the elf, maintaining her cheeky smile. "I could show you a lot more than what I did today. Old man probably won't let me perform now, but once the circus empties out? Could give you a full tour of the tent, and a more personal show." Her cheeky smile shifted to a light smirk, as she watched one of the wizards summon darken the tent, before summoning beautiful images of light, even ducking at one point, as a purplish, slightly transparent dragon, flew past her, before exploding into a magical sparkling ball of stars. "I'll never know how that bastard does it. I mean, I've seen good illusions, but never anything that convincing. Still gets me all those years. Not the only thing he startles me with." She thought, for a moment, before her smirk turned into that classic, dumb smile.
"You're the woman I saw while swinging." She laughed. "Wow, you are a lot prettier right-side up. Personally, I find it easy to swing when I'm focused on something. And you are a hard thing to ignore. Bright white hair in a crowd of people? Gets me curious."
