Everett nods at Glavynn's explanation.
"Thank you."
He understands the young man is just trying to help, and who knows what kinds of questions could actually inspire some recollection of his past or identity. So far, however, nothing has really stirred up much clarity. Perhaps given some time the suspended sediment would settle back down to the bottom of the sea, but for now, the turbulent current keeps the waters clouded.
"I don't remember running into anyone or eating anything strange." He shrugs a bit. "That doesn't mean it couldn't have happened though."
Everett watches the owl fly off into the treetops before his attention is drawn down to Galvynn's foraging for random forest oddities. He can't help but wonder what other kinds of unusual items Galvynn has collected in his pockets. What use any of it is beyond him, but it does give him an idea of what kinds of things the young man likes. Even if his mind is buggered, he does know he owes the druid at least something as thanks for the healing and assistance.
The half-elf's face twists into an awkward grin.
"I mean..." It's not that surprising. The way the young man is dressed and talks makes it pretty clear that urban settings are not really their forte. "To the road and out of the forest is a start."
It's the best option at this point. He's not too keen on waiting around in the forest, especially if it turns dark. Just because the druid asks the beasts of the forest to spare him, the same could not be said of other monstrosities that stalk the night.
"I think I can walk on my own. Please, lead the way."

"If you had eaten anything odd, that healing I gave wouldn't have helped much." The druid gives a little laugh as he and Bucky turn to start making their way through the woods.
It is impossible to hide the natural grace with which Galvynn makes his way through the forest. There is little concern for roots and detritus on the forest floor as it seems to barely impede him. His steps are also as soft and quiet as the wind on the branches.
Occassionally he stops to admire a budding blossom or to catch up on a touch of gossip with the local squirrel. There are also plenty more additions to the 'odd but neat thing found in the forest' collection growing in his pockets. The only material possesion he seems to care about is the bear jaw necklace that is delicately held to his chest if they pass by low branches or anything that might snag it.
"So, is there anything you do remember? I am a little worried that just getting you to a road will only end up with you lost again....would you like me to take you to a city gate at least? I think I can manage going that far."

"Oh," Everett replies. "I see."
He doesn't know much about healing magic, but he trusts Galvynn to know his own capabilities and the wilds better than himself. He's proven to be trustworthy in that regard well enough as it is. It's proven even more as Galvynn leads him through the woods with grace and serenity, as if he is not just living in the forest, but a part of it. The animals don't flee from him, and it's almost like the earth itself opens pathways for the druid to pass through unimpeded.
"Not particularly...everything's pretty foggy. It's, uh...a familiar feeling though..." That's more scary than the memory loss in itself. He should be fretting, panicking even, but he's oddly numb to what a reasonable person would feel if faced with the knowledge that their memory was either stolen or erased.
"I appreciate your concern, but you've helped me plenty and I wouldn't want to impose."
At the offer to take him all the way to a city gate, he gives an affirmative nod. "If that is alright with you, that would be incredibly helpful. I imagine any bandits on the road keep a healthy distance from your badger friend here."
He reaches over to cautiously pat Bucky on the head. He wasn't expecting how stiff the short hairs on the top of the creature's head are but isn't deterred from giving some skritches between the badger's round stubby ears.

Bucky happily leans up into the scritches for a moment before he continues to plod forward. Galvynn can't help but laugh a bit at the display paired with Everett's question. Yes, what a formidable looking creature indeed.
"It's a strange thing actually...I think I have become something of a myth among some of the locals that use these woods entirely by accident...I don't hear about it often, but...a man and his son were being accosted by some bandits and I approached them as a wolf at first and spoke, then took this form and asked them to leave...the mix of seeming to come from nowhere and then changing forms scared them off and very infrequently I hear about the Moonveil Guardian Spirit."
He couldn't help but laugh again. It was a very silly story and all completely accidental. He hadn't even threatened anyone or bared his teeth as a wolf. It was just a simple request to not bother people who had done nothing wrong. Galvynn didn't care to stop the myths though if it caused even one person to take a little bit more caution when it came to nature.
"As for Bucky...he can be fierce when he needs to be...but like most you'll find in the woods, he has no interest in harming you if he doesn't need to....most animal attacks are misunderstandings because people don't stop to ask what's wrong. Take wolves for instance, they like to keep their lands safe, but just like humans they will protect it...but if you tell them you're just passing through they are happy to let you go. Sure, they might follow along to make sure you leave, but those are just the really grumpy ones."

"Oh, wow. That's impressive."
He doesn't say it aloud, but he has never heard of any Moonveil Guardian Spirit. That's not saying much though considering his current state of not remembering jack shit. He doesn't doubt Galvynn's words, the young man hardly seems like the type to lie or make up something like that to impress a stranger. He even seems to think the tale is ridiculous himself, so it's very likely to be true.
Everett listens to the druid's explanation of how incidents between animals and people can occur, and how often it is the person's fault for not just talking to the animal they are in conflict with. He's not completely convinced that just talking to a territorial or hungry animal will work for the vast majority of folks. Not everyone lives as harmoniously with nature as Galvynn evidently does.
"That's good to know. I'm not very familiar with handling animals...I don't think. Though that information is useful if I ever stumble into a pack of wolves."
That said, he'll probably just avoid being in places where running into packs of wolves is likely if he can help it. Better to just keep a safe distance than hope the wolves are in the mood for negotiation.
After some more casual conversation, they eventually get to the road and then to the gates of the nearest city. Everett catches his breath after the long walk and looks back at Galvynn before they get too close to the city for the druid's liking.
"Thank you again for all your help. I don't think I would have survived being lost out in the wilds for very long," he says with a joking tone.

"It's silly is what it is." He laughs. "They asked if I was a spirit and I panicked, I just wanted them out of the woods so whatever it took to get them gone."
Some part of Galvynn knows his advice isn't all that practical. It works for him because he can literally understand them, their thoughts and intentions. In return, they can understand him, there is an actual communication between them. It is not the same for everyone else, a fact he often forgets.
"If nothing else, just back up quickly and hope they understand...I can't make any promises, nature is nature...I can't control it, only help it in small ways." Galvynn holds a branch aside to let Everett through and onto the road.
Bucky sticks to walking on the side of the road. The pair are seemingly aware that if they left big massive rune badger prints it might scare people. Last thing they needed was to accidentally send a group of hunters or adventurers after Bucky again.
"It's a lot easier if you start by not falling from a tree." The druid smiles and laughs gently. "If you are ever lost in these woods again, just ask someone if I am around, I should be able to find you if I'm around."

Everett smiles sheepishly and the tips of his ears burn with embarrassment at the mention of his less than graceful fall.
"True, I will try to avoid that in the future."
He still doesn't know why he was up in a tree in the first place. Hopefully, it wasn't for any important reason. Though if it was it's too late to go back out and look around. The sun is already starting to dip below the treetops and it won't be long before the sky is cloaked in darkness.
"I will. Safe travels back to the forest!"
He waves to Galvynn and then to Bucky before he turns to pass through the city's gates. With farewells said, the two part ways - one back to the woods, the other to the city streets.
Everett walks through the noisy streets and passes by a shop window. Just as he catches sight of his own reflection in the glass, he comes to an abrupt stop. For the briefest moment, just in the periphery of his vision, he could have sworn that he saw a glint of yellow in his right eye...but as he makes a double take, it's gone.
Perhaps it was just his mind playing more tricks on him.
It feels like it wouldn't be the first time.
