This is a perfect job for me, a little bit of revenge on the bluebloods and I get to help my like-minded rogues. The ‘nobles’ of Darkveil had quite some gall this year. After all destruction and chaos caused by the so-called god of Rebirth, they had the nerve to waste solars on goons whose only job was to apprehend the good-natured thieves who only appeared around the Winter’s Crown, an act the townsfolk aptly named, ‘The Rogue Roundup‘. If anything, the role of the Red Rogues is most important during a time of tribulation like this, and yet the greed of Darkveil’s morally dubious upper-class sought to stifle those that had already lost so much. Ironic that during a time of great suffering, it’s those with excess who fear loss the most. Vail had made his way to the base of the Devil’s Ridge. The local tavern folk have been spreading rumors regarding sightings of armed figures escorting people to the mountain range. While normally he would just write this off as your typical kidnapping or ransom, the sheer number of people likely meant this was something bigger, and simultaneous rumors of the ‘Rogue Roundup‘ meant their prison was likely hidden within the ridges. It was a risky place for a makeshift jail; the constant criminal activity of the region meant the jail would likely be heavily guarded, but it also meant that your average good-natured citizen wouldn't dare venture close. As such, Vail was the perfect man for the job, seeing as his status of his wellbeing was still debated by the criminal underworld and his lack of familial ties meant there wouldn’t be any inter-family fallout. Approaching the base of the mountain, the pale ash lander finds a makeshift path leading up the ridge, with evidence of wheel marks still rather clear. Seeing an opportunity, Vail set to work moving some boulders [1] from uphill, making a makeshift roadblock for any who might take the path. With his trap properly set, the ash lander sits down in the shadow of a nearby outcrop [2], getting a good view of the trail as he waits. “Now let’s see who has been sight-seeing where they really shouldn’t.”

Still looking to get some experience Griffen walked he was confident he was not lost. But who was Griffen fooling Griffin thought. The smell of an ozone-like tang of hot desert-like rock. The landscape of the ash land is full of dirt and ash with little in the way of water other than dunes. Harsh sunlight beats down on people traveling in an oasis-type pool here or there to survive. Dirt blowing in the breeze crumbing rock sticking out of the ground.
The gusting wind whistled as it blew dust into the face of the traveler. The sound of one’s steps, heavy silence, and howling wild dogs traveled on this wind. The smell of arid air, dust, and one’s sweat fills the senses of Griffen.
Griffen found himself a trail and started to follow it hoping that it would not dead end. It would not be his end. Griffen's mouth getting dry and his gourd was almost out of water Griffen wondered why he even traveled to this land. He looked up and saw that the trail was blocked "Oh... Grate a dead end" Griffin mumbled loudly. He saw the marks in the ground where the rocks were dragged into position as he rounded the corner. He stopped something did not feel right. "Is this the end?" Griffin asked himself.

Whatever Vail was expecting to find on this rocky crag, this certainly wasn’t it. Rather than a prison caravan or gang of goons dragging along some good-natured fool, he found a gnome, a green one at that. As to what this traveler could be doing in a place as desolate as The Devil’s Ridge, Vail has no idea; if anything, he looked lost. The ash lander was perfectly content sitting silently and waiting for the gnome to bugger off, until he noticed where the gnome’s eyes lingered. In his overconfidence, Vail had forgotten to remove the drag trail of the boulders, a mistake that’s likely to jeopardize his entire plan. He rises to his feet as he keeps a watchful eye on the gnome down below. He moves to the edge of the outcropping’s shadow [1], crouching down before launching himself down to the path. Vail is upon the gnome in an instant [2], grabbing him by his collar [3] as he lifts him almost his own height off the ground. “What do we have here, a lost tourist? This ain’t the kind of place you visit for fun, explain what you are doing here.” Vail listens to the gnome’s reasoning for a brief moment before the distant sound of wooden wheels pressing against gravel catches his ear. Dang it, why now of all times? The ashlander lowers the gnome back to the ground as he stares unyieldingly into his eyes. “Listen, you’re about to have some company here and if you want to get through this unscathed, you are not going to mention me or this little setup, got it? Believe me, these guys are going to do far worse things to you than I would, so don't even think about ratting me out.” With that, Vail dashes behind a particularly large boulder, as he waits for his intended prey to approach. Seeing a shadow Griffin tried to get out of the way whatever was about to drop on him. it was too late before he knew it he was looking into a man's eyes some 3 feet off the ground being held up in the air by the man his grip was like an iron vice. He looked angry shouting at Griffin wanting to know why Griffin was there.
Griffin smiled and was about to kick the man in the crunch. Griffin did not know where he was. How he got there. The man's expression changed with the distant sound of wooden wheels grinding in the dirt. The man placed him down.
The man was about 6 feet tall with a thin build. He had his pale skin and jet-black hair being kept at mid-length. The crimson shade of his eyes was a bit alarming to Griffin.
The man warned Griffin of trouble coming. Not to make any trouble. So was the man a bandit? If not what was he? The man did not look like a knight. The grinding of the wheels got louder and the man disappeared into the shadows. Leaving Griffin on the road alone. Griffin saw a spot to hide and quickly got to it placing his hand on the ground.
[1]Griffin caused a large slab of stone to rise out of the ground, creating a rectangular wall made of the earth. the wall looked strong but blended well with the rocks around him. This wall is ten feet in height and five feet in width. Griffin hoped if he could not see them then they could not see who was coming.
The wagon was getting closer Griffin's heart started to race the sound getting louder. [2] Griffin needed help and now he called on the spirits of the earth. A small fire sprite appears that hovers in the air around Griffin. The tiny ball of fire slowly moved around Griffin bouncing in the air. By the time the wagon sounded like it was close or in front Griffin started to move his hands in a circular motion [3] Griffin drew forth the energies from the world around him, tapping into the other domains wind answered the call and then created a medium-sized orb of raw magic in Griffin's hand. Griffin was just waiting to realize it. If he had to defend himself.

Hiding within the shadow of a nearby boulder, Vail hears the earth move in the direction he last saw the gnome. The ash lander hugs the side of the rock as he maneuvers to get a better view of the event about to unfold.
Slowly but surely, a rickety wagon drives its way into view, being led by a rather exhausted steed. Atop the driver’s seat sits two men, a grey fellblood adorned with an eyepatch over his right eye, and freckled half-elf who seemed to be in a considerable state of inebriation, neither of which seemed the friendliest. The contents in the back of the wagon made clear why the two miscreants were out for a joyride on such treacherous terrain. Rather than any illicit goods (or prisoners for that matter), the wagon was filled with various foodstuffs and water, no doubt making this a supply run returning from the somewhat civilized world.
The wagon slows to a halt as it nears the blockade and the annoyed tone of fellblood can clearly be heard amongst the wind. “Great, another landslide, why in the blazes did they have to pick the worst place in all of Charon to camp. Gregor, make yourself useful for once and help me move these.” The impaired half-elf gives the fellblood a dissatisfied grunt as they descend from either side of the wagon.
The pair make their way towards the blockade, when the fell suddenly stops a few meters from the stone wall. His eyes narrow as looks upon the rock, before suddenly widening. “Gregor wait, it's an ambus-” The fellblood’s words are cut short as a bolt of light[1] hits him center-mass.
“Curses.” Vail mutters to himself as he quickly withdraws his extended hand back into the darkness. “Of course the tourist had to blow the cover. Time for plan B.”

Most little Gnomes are always underestimated. The Flame Sprite started to make a fire bolt then another Pixie came out of the rocks Embers was not happy with what was going on. She started to generate fire as well [1] Griffin was absorbing the flames. The elemental power builds inside of Griffin. He could feel the turning of the fire inside of him. Letting the earth wall fall that was in front of him Griffin surprised the two men. [2] Griffin drew forth the energies from the world around Him, tapping into the other domains outside of his own. Then create a medium-sized orb of raw fire magic in his hands. Then Griffin fired forth magical energy of fire its damage being increased by the fire energy he had adsorbed. That fire now ignited Gregor, giving him a blast of intense fire. Griffin knew they would burn continuously for a minute remaining ablaze Gregor would suffer a horrible death. The man that Griffin now hit with an orb of fire was engulfed in flames rolling and screaming as his flesh turned black and burned off his body a major wound started to show as the Embers the Pixie hit him with a ball of fire explored doubling the flame and heat major wounds started to show all over his body he man just started to lay there burning.
