In hopes of bettering his strength and improving ever upon such power, Videl had decided that it was in his best interest to join the Martial Academy. Whilst he wasn't the youngest amongst the recruits, he wasn't exactly the oldest either. From what he had grown to understand anyways, after delving into the Martial Academy and its recruitment requirements. Thankfully his age had more or less settled in the middle. All that he really had to do at this point, to prove his strengths to the academy, was to partake in combat against another. Figuring that he could kill two birds with one stone, Videl would opt to invite his closest confidant to partake in a sparring match with him.
Before the pair had even made their way out towards Lilac Bay, and thusly the academy, Videl had explained to his beloved companion that he had been hoping to attend the academy. That he was doing so in hopes of growing ever stronger so that he may remain by her side throughout all of time. As the most formidable fighter than he had come to know, he had felt as though she was the most appropriate person for such a task. And as such, he had requested that she see how far he had come by accepting this offer of his. Regardless of how he had managed to convince Sylvari to come all the way out here with them, the pair had thankfully managed to make their way to the academy itself before standing within one of its several training facilities. There were countless prospective recruits and their adversaries gathered within the area and yet only a single instructor. That was all that was needed to gauge the power that Videl had possessed apparently.
Rather than acknowledge the crowd themselves, once the pair had found their way towards the center of the sparring area, Videl's attention would remain solely fixed upon Sylvari. Her armored form had been one that was built almost entirely for combat. To defend against attacks and devastate the forces of evil. Aside from that damned Zeinavian that he had met all those weeks ago, Sylvari was perhaps his biggest threat. The one person whose combat style had been nearly the complete opposite of his own.. If he was going to overcome her than he was going to have to give this fight everything that he had.
All that was left for the T'saya to do was to wait for the instructor to announce the start of this match. Videl had patiently waited for the instructors word, his mana flaring wildly within him as he had longed to get out. His gaze had remained strictly forward until that precious moment had come.. And in the moment that it had, Videl was sure to act. Since that time had yet to come however, Videl could only say but one thing to his competitor. "Hold nothing back that you are comfortable with sharing. And trust in me to show you my strengths."

Sylvari took her appointed mark, about thirty paces from Videl as she regarded him impassively. The time the two had spent together since the Lantern Wood had been one of carefully tread advances to bring the pair back to where they used to stand. For one of them anyway: the justiciar seemed to have buried the painful memories of the place so deeply inside herself that she didn't seem to recall the specifics of their excursion.
Nevertheless, she had kept the promise she made and had not mentioned a single more time wishing Videl wasn't on the path with her. In fact, she didn't make any mention of his new presence at all, as if he had always been with her. The emotions involved with such puzzling motivations were locked within the confines of Sylvari's mind, however, and she didn't seem keen to discuss them further.
Videl's interest in joining a martial academy had been a switch, but one that the vampiress was happy to entertain, journeying with her companion to the place of the initiation trials. She wasn't expecting to be called upon to fight to prove his mettle, but she smoothly transitioned to the role without a single complaint.
Now standing opposite him, she looked at him the same as any other honorable foe: an obstacle to be overcome. It would be disrespectful to fight him with anything less than her best, and so, she couldn't treat him in the familiar way she had come to. She acknowledged his words with a curt nod and hefted her shield in preparation for the bout.
When the officiator announced the start of the match, Sylvari got low in a dodging stance, confident that Videl would charge her with a blinding offense, meant to put her on the back foot. By taking a defensive motion preemptively, she hoped to counter the advantage that Videl's aggression would afford him. She wouldn't summon her servants until later: it was supposed to be a demonstration of Videl's skill, not her own. Even so, Noe stood at her feet, clacking his jaw and flaring his wings defiantly, still a little confused why his people were fighting.

As the officiant of their match had ushered in the beginning of the match, Videl had begun to crouch down in a similar manner to how Sylvari had. His intentions had been a bit different though as he had considered making use of his quickened pacing via his magics. Knowing that Sylvari might expect this much from him though, considering what she had come to know of his combat style, Videl had opted to aim for another route. Rather than kicking off the ground and gliding the remainder of the way upon frozen soles, Videl would break out into a regular ol' dash. He would close the distance about three quarters of the way before driving the butt of his spear into the ground. Making use of this momentum, Videl would launch himself twenty feet high into the air, spear still in his grasp as he had done so [Vaulting Style]. While many would have thought that it was a reckless move, to have placed himself so freely in the air, Videl had been counting on his newfound technique to power through Sylvari's expectations. The entrance requirements be damned, at this moment Videl only had one thing on his mind. Showing Sylvari what he had been capable of. Having found himself projected twenty feet in the air above Sylvari, Videl would begin to channel his mana through the base of his spear, allowing for it to make its way all the way up towards the tip of the spearhead. Just as he was about to descend, a thirty foot long, narrow beam of glacial energy [Frost Pulse] would shoot force from the spearhead, descending directly towards his intended target. Regardless of whether this glacial energy had landed appropriately upon its intended target, Videl would safely fall to the ground on the other side of Sylvari only a moment later. Of course, whether his magic had landed had indeed been an important factor. If it had managed to make contact with the vampiric knight than Videl would be sure to keep the beam consistently going, allowing for it to slam into her with all of its might all along his path downward. And if it hadn't? If she had made use of her abilities to devour magic or managed to dodge out of the way? Well he would be sure to cancel the magic soon after noticing as much.

Sylvari quirked a single brow, so that it was visible from beneath her veil. V, V, you've been keeping secrets, haven't you? Good for you. Trust no one, least of all the monster in your midst. A grim slash of smile worked its way across Sylvari's face. Well, you're not the only one, darling, but that can wait until later. You'll need to earn that glimpse.
Already low to the ground, with her balance forward on the balls of her feet, dodging out of the way of the icy beam was a relatively simple maneuver. Moving with a speed that was unnatural given her bulky armor, Sylvari launched forward in a tumble, scooping up her little skeletal dragon, and skidding to a stop a few feet away.
Now, let's see your defense, my dear. Sylvari raised up her dominant arm, still unladen by the warhammer that remained securely fastened at her back and conjured a mote of impossible darkness. She marked her target as the pauldrons that Videl wore, the only armor he had. It wouldn't prevent the negative energy's bite, but it would dull the impact. For whatever lie she told herself, Sylvari was unable to bring herself to willingly harm her friend. Without any excess motion of her arm, the tiny black flame shot out and morphed into a bolt of dark lightning, as it sung towards Videl on the indicated path.

Seeing that Sylvari had easily diverted away from his frost pulse, much to his expectations, Videl had decided to cancel the spell so as to reserve his mana. From there he would watch as Sylvari had called upon a vantablack mote of energy. Said mote would soon transform into a bolt of darkness that would quickly slam into his pauldrons. Given that his defenses had functioned primarily against physical attacks, unless he had wanted to freeze himself over and leave himself open to further attacks, Videl had allowed for the bolt to unimpededly hit him. The power behind this bolt had been far more than he might have realized though, causing Videl's shoulder to jut backwards a bit.
With a grunt of pain, the T'saya would attempt to persevere through it all and return to the task at hand. While he had been annoyed by it, and likely wouldn't ever point this much out, he had yet to force Sylvari to make use of her weapon. She was using magic against him.. As though she knew that this was his primary weakness. It was something that he would have to work around in the future. Something that he would consider once all of this was said and done.
Rather than allow for himself to continuously be put in a position that would allow for Sylvari to make use of his magics, Videl would rush towards Sylvari whilst attempting to keep in line with her. If she wouldn't grab ahold of her weapon than he would make her. As he had rushed directly towards her, Videl would pump his mana all throughout his spear once more, this time around calling upon a wealth of cold energy that would ultimately dwell within the spearhead [Shatter]. Once he had managed to close the distance to about ten feet, Videl would thrust his spear towards her twice, adjusting his grip throughout the process to make the most out of the weapons length [Titanic Reach]. The frosted over spearhead of his weapon would find itself thrusted directly towards the woman's chest plate, a sharp whistling occurring as the speed of the spear had found itself increased[Spear, Double Strike, Thrusting]. In the event that his spear had managed to pierce against her chest plate for the first strike, the chest plate would immediately find itself frosted over and exceedingly brittle. And with the second strike? Well the chest plate was likely to shatter.
Action Type - Shatter (Offensive Spell): The spell forces an object to become exceedingly brittle after being frozen over, with just barely more force needed to cause the item to shatter.
- Two Thrust attacks with the spear, empowered by titanic reach, the double strike enchantment, and the thrusting enchantment
Active Items - Spear (Double Strike; Thrusting): Has increased speed when thrusted and can land two attacks in the span of one
Active Passives - Titanic Reach (Martial Technique): Can attack with a range of 15 feet with a polearm; thrusting and overhead attacks remove 2 hit preventions
- Vaulting Style (Martial Technique): Leaps, tumbles, or rolls made with polearms increase range by 10 feet; jumps performed increase range by 20 feet; can land safely from any height up to 30 feet

Videl's icy crown, mirroring the one Sylvari wore, obviated the use of somatic components in spellcasting, and thus, made him an exceedingly difficult opponent to counter, always setting his opponents on the back foot with unexpected magics. Opponents other than Sylvari that is, for while the justiciar was denied vision of Videl's movements as anyone else, she could smell the icy arcana gathering in his spearhead before it was even solidified.
She wasn't entirely sure what spell he would bring to bare, channeled through his weapon as it was, but she was forced to respond with caution to this unknown. As he charged her, she quickly spoke an eldritch word of power, carrying throughout the field despite its whispered delivery. "Nullify." A soft purple glow spread over Sylvari's form, ready to defend against hostile magics, as she hefted her shield to catch the telegraphed blow.
She still wasn't sure the intent of the spell, but as the spearhead entered the inch thick miasma around her, the frost at its tip was cleanly dispelled. She caught the first strike on her shield, but the second one dented the metal and shunted off into her breastplate. Sylvari threw her now useless shield aside and fixed her eyes again on her target. Sylvari smiled despite herself, pleased with Videl's growth. Others might have taken her happy expression to be one of gloating, but the eyes she hid beneath her veil held only fondness as Sylvari gazed on her dear friend.

To Videl's surprise, the moment that his spear had prepared to come into contact with Sylvari's form, a purple glow would extend out from her very form. The aura that his vampiric companion had emitted wasn't what had ultimately surprised Videl, even with it having been the first time that he had seen her make use of it. Instead, what had truly caught his attention, had been the fact that the glacial energy within his spearhead had dissipated. It wasn't as though it had met an opposing force and lost out in terms of its will. Its was simply gone.
A sense of curiosity had overtaken the man as he had watched his spell disappear. This was something new. Something that he hadn't seen her make use of in battle. That either meant that she had held even more secrets, all linked to her sense of combat of course, or that she had learned it in the time that they were apart. Knowing that he forced her to bring such an aura to bare though had left a sense of comfort within him. Especially once he had managed to pierce through her shield. Now if only he could tear through her metaphorical walls this easily..
Knowing that it wouldn't be good for him to get lost within such thoughts, Videl would continue to focus on the battle at hand. Much like before, he would begin to channel his glacial mana deep within his weapon [Spellblade - Arcane Focus, Shatter] before thrusting his weapon towards Sylvari's chest plate yet again. And much like before, in the instant that his spearhead had come into contact with this purple aura, the magic would dissipate where the spear would continue to tear through. Another set of sharp whistling [Spear - Double Strike & Thrusting, Titanic Reach] would pierce the air as his spear would close the distance between them twice more, aiming true towards Sylvari's chest plate, so long as nothing had stood in its way.
Seeing that his magics had been effectively nullified twice in a row, much like Sylvari had commanded, Videl was sure that magic would serve very little use within this test of mettle. In regards to his own end, anyways. That was likely for the best, considering that this was an initiation test for the martial academy, but it just hadn't set well with the T'saya. He had to show Sylvari everything that he had. That he had grown and was capable of protecting her. If it came to it, he would be forced to use magics that he'd much rather not use.

As Videl again launched at her, with a similar motion, Noe finally shook off his confusion at the pair fighting. He may not have understood the purpose, but his mistress was being attacked. It was his duty to protect her, no matter what. As Videl's spear came down to pierce her chest, he leapt from the ground by her feet into the spear path, absorbing the blow and shattering his tiny bones across the immediate battlefield. The second thrust hit, and found purchase through the vampiress' plate, embedding itself in the tender skin below.
Sylvari grimaced, not from the pain, as blood began to trickle down her chest, but in concern for her friend. She knew he had a fondness for the little dragonling nearly as great as she did, and to strike a blow that wasn't intended for him must have been hard, especially not knowing the true lengths of the undead's resilience. Well, I wasn't planning on using him, but it will probably give Videl some peace of mind.
In the space of time after Noe's sundering and Videl's strike, Sylvari spoke out in a commanding tone. "Noe. Attack Videl." The scattered bone fragments twitched slightly before whirling back together into the tiny creature. He cocked his head at his mistress and clacked his jaw softly, saddened and not understanding the situation. Even so, the command in Sylvari's words was absolute, and, as purple lich lights filled the eye holes in Noe's little skull, the dragonling rushed forward in a frenzy to assault his comrade.
For her part, Sylvari took advantage of the uncertainty to step back, outside of Videl's reach as she conjured up a wall of writhing skeletons between her and her opponent, concealing her form and giving her a moment to form an appropriate battle plan to test Videl without hurting him.

A look of worry would indeed coat Videl's gaze as he watched the diminutive dragonling shatter before his very eyes. He hadn't known why it was that Sylvari decided to fight with him by her side but chose not to mention it until now. Guilt would seemingly wash over him at this point, sending his heart a flutter with anguish. And yet a steely resolve would overtake him shortly after, masking the pain that lie beneath. A pain that wouldn't remain for all that long, seeing as Sylvari had gone out of her way to reconstitute Noe's form with her dark magics. This was his first time really seeing her fight like this.. This was something that Videl had considered to be both a positive and a negative.
While he had managed to get Sylvari to eek out a few new techniques here and there, a look of surprise would still find itself rising within the T'saya as he watched the scene before him unfold. Not only had Noe been reconstituted and told to attack him but she had called upon a massive wall of skeletal corpses. Did she have such capabilities whilst fighting against that Hydra? And if she had than just how difficult was it to face down such a creature? Various thoughts couldn't help but run through the T'saya's mind before being wiped out in the face of his determination.
As Noe had launched into the air and attempted to assault him, Videl would whisper but a single thing to himself. "Belt." Upon doing so, the six-foot long, solid steel chain [Dancing Chain] that had sat around Videl's waist would find itself to grow rather animated. Rather than allow for Noe to strike its master, the steel chain that was aptly named Belt would place a part of itself directly within Noe's path before taking the blow for its master. The chain would rattle intently after this contact, dropping back down to Videl's waist and finding itself rendered inert for a short period of time.
While all of this was happening, Videl wouldn't let up in his assault. Or well.. If you could even call his following actions an assault, that is. Feeling as though he had to obtain the upper hand in some regard, Videl would cease his movements before calling upon his mana once more. Rather than close in towards the wall of skeletons, Videl would decide to leap backwards, a large storm of fluffy and fast-moving snow [Snow Flurry] descending upon the training ground as he had done so. His aim was to block off Sylvari's field of vision, while he could, so that he could get into a better positioning. With his all-eye, such an effect wouldn't impede his own vision, so it had simply been the best bet that he had at this moment.
Action Type - Called upon Dancing Chain to defend a physical attack (Defensive)
- Utilized Snow Flurry to make use of its properties of: being difficult to move in and obscuring vision ever so slightly.

Noe's uncertainty through their empathic link as well as her own sense of smell gave Sylvari a good idea of what had happened on the other side of the wall: Videl had avoided the little undead's first strike and called upon obscuring frosty magics. You've done well thus far, Videl. You've drawn my blood and earned my servants. For no one fights a necromancer alone. We have those who would die for our cause.
Obscured as she was by the writhing wall of skeletons, Sylvari uttered the black speech of her dark art as she wrenched her arm upward, calling her servant. "Arise." Erupting out of the soft earth of the arena came her signature undead hulk, a horrifically muscled abomination of poorly combined flesh, equipped with a greatsword larger than a man and dripping with dark energies. The justiciar issued a single mental command and the undead charged forth around the skeletal wall and into the tiny blizzard beyond.
Sylvari noted the looks of distrust and hands braced on weapons as she delved further into her dark magics, but she remained impassive. The rules set before the bout indicated anything short of killing your opponent was permitted, and the officiant gave her a stony-faced nod, returned in kind by the vampiress. Sylvari sat cross legged on the ground and closed her eyes to scent the air, giving her sight without sight of the battle that raged beyond her erected fortifications.
Noe and the hulk wandered the snow, impeded in their movement, but still trudging toward falnking positions on Videl.
Let's see how you deal with multiple foes, my dear.

With his all-eye allowing for him to peer through his own magics, Videl could easily see the hulking undead that had made its way around the skeletal wall. Time and time again, this match, Sylvari had managed to pull out another necrotic source that Videl hadn't been aware of prior to this event. Given how horrifying the hulking undead had been, and how determined Noe had been, Videl could tell that he was hard pressed in a situation like this. If it wasn't for the fact that his snow was slowing them down, they likely would have swarmed him by now. All in all, Videl was starting to lose his belief that he could protect Sylvari. On her own, she was a veritable army..! What could he really offer that she couldn't already make use of? Not wanting to fall too far behind his beloved vampiric companion, Videl would have to find some way to find a balance between the pair of them. Even if he couldn't overcome her here and now, in time he was certain that he could. He just had to try and close the gap that had existed between them.. The only question was how? How was he going to close the extensive gap that had existed? To find the answer, Videl would have to dig deep. Or so he had thought. 'If it wasn't for these damned undead, I can face her one on one.. It would be so damned simple. If only it weren't for the-' It was then that it had clicked for him. If Sylvari could call upon the aid of others than.. Why couldn't he? A soft smile would tug at his lips as this realization had dawned upon him. Given that his mana had so frequently wanted to get involved.. Why wouldn't he simply allow for it to do so? Unsure of whether or not this would even work, Videl would reach his hand out and try and replicate the action that Sylvari had completed. While he couldn't see the physical action that she had taken, he had at least heard the phrase that she had used. "..arise."A reverberating base would instill itself within the T'saya's voice as he had spoken, his very mana pumping itself deep within the silver circlet around his wrist as it had done so. Shortly after these words had left his mouth, the snow within the area would begin to coalesce, colliding together until it had taken on another form of its own.. Standing behind Videl was now a hulking golem of snow and ice [Summon: Ice Elemental]. One that would match Sylvari's undead in height. "Clear that up for me," were the only words that Videl would utter whilst gesturing towards the hulking undead that Sylvari had brought forth. Having accepted the command, Videl's ice elemental would transform one of its arms into a spear reminiscent of Videl's ice spike spell before rushing towards Sylvari's hulking undead to trade blows. Videl knew that things couldn't end here. Even if he were to just stand here, Noe would likely make it through the hail of snow in no time. Especially with how much of it had been consumed by the ice elemental itself. Knowing that he had to make a move, Videl would proceed to rush towards the skeletal wall before driving the butt of his spear into the ground and using it to propel himself into the air and over the wall that stood before him [Vaulting Style]. Several of the skeletal hands would reach out and scratch him as he had done so, dealing a decent amount of harm to him, but he would thankfully make it on the other side shortly after this exchange. Action Type- Summoned forth an Ice Elemental (Summon: Ice Elemental) to take on Sylvari's hulking undead (turns: 1/3) - Vaulted over the skeletal wall (vaulting style) before landing on the other side Active Items- Spear (Double Strike; Thrusting): Has increased speed when thrusted and can land two attacks in the span of one Active Passives- Titanic Reach (Martial Technique): Can attack with a range of 15 feet with a polearm; thrusting and overhead attacks remove 2 hit preventions - Vaulting Style (Martial Technique): Leaps, tumbles, or rolls made with polearms increase range by 10 feet; jumps performed increase range by 20 feet; can land safely from any height up to 30 feet Recharge Tracking- Dancing Chain Recovery: 1/3 Posts

Sylvari could smell Videl casting magic on the other side of her barrier, a most peculiar scent: a familiar one. Summoning magic? Videl, my but you've grown. Sylvari was certain that he would have no trouble dealing with either of her servants individually, but had meant to test him with their combination. It seemed her friend intended to subvert her challenge entirely by evening the odds for himself.
She was not expecting him to vault over her wall, however, taking damage in the process. The justiciar quirked a brow at her companion's sudden arrival. She rose to her feet swiftly as she spoke. "You've revealed new parts of yourself to me today, Videl. Wasn't it you that begged honesty of me in ability? I'm hurt that you wouldn't reciprocate." Sylvari batted her eyes at him and reached out to caress his face.
The vampiress suppressed a wave of bile at her underhanded actions. In the first place, she had never been fully transparent about the extent of her abilities, partially due to her own guilt, but in part due to a deep-seated mistrust of others, even those closest to her. She was secretly proud of him for keeping things hidden, even from her, as she knew the depth of his feelings for her. It was those very feelings, however, that she now tested. If Sylvari was to be assured of her dear friend's resilience, she needed to exhaust every avenue of harm that could come to him, wretched though the practice made her feel.
Without waiting for a response, the vampiress' form became as a smoky haze, dissociated from its physicality as she moved through Videl and then her wall, unharmed and unimpeded. She took stock of the situation beyond. Her hulk was trading blows with a conjured ice golem, seemingly evenly matched. Sylvari crossed her arms and smirked, enjoying the spectacle of two unthinking creations sparring. The even bout quickly fell apart once Noe arrived, the little creature's small form belying the ferocity of his attacks. Bit by bit the pair wore the golem down.

As Sylvari had called him out for his hypocritical actions, Videl's eyes would feign a pained appearance. It wasn't that her words hadn't actually hurt him but more so that they hadn't dug as deep a pain as he had thought. It wasn't as though he was keeping things from her intentionally, after all. For the instance of the golem itself, that was something that he had just kind of willed into existence. Even he hadn't known the extent of his glacial magics. Sometimes these things just kind of.. happened.
"I would never deliberately hide anything from you, Sylvari, and you know that. We simply haven't had the time to converse over these things. Quite a few things that we haven't been able to discuss as of yet, actually." As Videl had spoken such words, Sylvari would act in a way that had shown her seeming disinterest in them. Rather than stay and face Videl in face to face combat, Sylvari had turned herself into a mist of sorts before dissipating through the very wall that he had just vaulted. It was as though she was trying to test his patience.
A heavy sigh would proceed to escape from the T'saya's mouth as he had channeled a final bit of mana through his spear once more. By this point, with how often he had been expending his magic, Videl was starting to grow a bit worn down. The loss of so much mana had held a certain effect over mages after all and as much as he hadn't liked to admit it, that golem of his had drained quite a bit of his mana. Hoping to make the most out of the mana that had still resided within him, Videl would pump his mana directly through the base of his spear and direct it towards the spearhead that lay at the top.
Shortly after Videl had channeled his mana into his spear, a potent layer of ice would form around the spearhead, coating it in a sharpened layer that would enhance its piercing abilities [Cold Touch]. What had surprised Videl though, was that as he had been doing this, his spear would respond in kind to his injuries. For perhaps the first time that he had been aware of, his spear had begun to access its own reserves of magic. This magic would pump directly into Videl as Videl had pumped his magic into the spear itself. A bit of a tradeoff. One that would proceed to stitch his wounds together [Spell Blade, Sharing Essence]!
While Videl hadn't quite understood what had just happened, it wasn't something that he could afford to give too much thought to at the moment. Placing this matter at the back of his mind, Videl would rush around the wall itself before making his way towards Sylvari once again. Once he had had her in his sight, Videl would close in until there was fifteen feet [Titanic Reach] between the pair of them. He would then thrust his spear directly towards her twice [Spear, Double Strike, Thrusting], attempting to destroy more of her armor with his piercing blows.

As Sylvari rematerialized out of the mists, Videl was there shortly afterwards. She didn't need to turn to sense him. His roiling mana, as ever, gave him away, though it was much depleted from his continued exertions. Though she was feeling likewise drained from the fight, she hadn't been leaping around and expending much physical effort. Not that it mattered much if she had, with her undead fortitude.
Perhaps because of this, Sylvari felt she should reward Videl for his obvious effort and extraordinary strides. She didn't dodge the incoming blows, both of them impaling deep into her flesh, passed her already-sundered breastplate. When he withdrew the spear, she turned to look at him with a fond smile, despite the rivers of blood that began to flow down the corners of her mouth.
"You've come far, V. I can see you're not just the boy who accompanied me against the poachers, all those moons ago. I won't play any longer. I will face you honestly." At her words, perfectly timed with her hearing the ice golem's downfall under the twin assault of her servants, Sylvari reached out a gauntleted hand to absorb the lingering necromantic energy that animated her heavily wounded hulk. The dark energies flowed into her, healing her completely. Sylvari wiped her mouth with the back of her glove, as she withdrew her hammer from its sling.
Noe, still commanded and animated by the lichlights, flew into a fury upon seeing his comrade in arms disappear. With a howl of fury inexplicable due to his anatomy, the dragonling whirled around and charged Videl. His mistress was right beside him, charging forward and unleashing a series of blows that seemed impossibly fast given the massive warhammer's size and bulk.

She.. she hadn't moved. She hadn't moved at all! With how she could sense the ambient magic that lingered about within an area, and the source that had contained said magic, just how could she stand there and take his blows?! There was no logic behind the decision, that Videl could determine in such a short period of time, and he couldn't help but feel awful about the way that things had just turned about. Even if she was likely to survive the situation at hand, there was no reason for her to take his attacks so nonchalantly. It bothered him to his very core.
And to make things even worse somehow? She had simply been toying with him until now. The feeling that she had given off, in the moment that she had spoken of facing him honestly, had felt similar to the despair that Videl had felt all that time ago. Back when the two had fallen into an underground cavern within the Frost Gale region. Back when they had to face off against all of those Glimmertongues. Back before their falling out.
It was then that Sylvari would unleash her raw power. In addition to allowing for her wounds to heal themselves, the hulking undead disappearing as she had done so, both Sylvari and Noe would proceed to launch themselves towards Videl whilst attempting to land blow after blow upon him. Worry had immediately overtaken him as the pair had begun to close the distance. He knew that things would end here if he wasn't careful. That being said, Videl would channel a small amount of mana into the mantle that had hung around his upper torso, imbuing it with magic and allowing for its effects to take place [Rime Mantle].
Just as Noe had come into contact with Videl's mantle, the dragonling would find itself met with the mantle's now steel-like density. For all intents and purposes, Videl's mantle had now found itself to be much harder than it had been before. And that was only enough to prevent Noe's attack for the time being. He still had to worry about what Sylvari's actions would be. That being the case, Videl would proceed to thrust his spear [Spear, Double Strike, Thrusting] forward to meet with Sylvari's own pair of attacks. His spear had been faster than her Warhammer, thanks to several factors, but the two had found themselves more or less locked in a stalemate when it had come to power. His form [Titanic Reach] and her power had seemed to hold a balance to them, albeit Videl was a bit on the losing side.
Action Type - Videl activated his Rime Mantle to tank Noe's attacks (1/2) (Defensive)
- Videl is blocking off Sylvari's pair of blows with his own (Defensive)
Active Items - Spear (Double Strike; Thrusting): Has increased speed when thrusted and can land two attacks in the span of one
Active Passives - Titanic Reach (Martial Technique): Can attack with a range of 15 feet with a polearm; thrusting and overhead attacks remove 2 hit preventions
- Vaulting Style (Martial Technique): Leaps, tumbles, or rolls made with polearms increase range by 10 feet; jumps performed increase range by 20 feet; can land safely from any height up to 30 feet
