With the discourse on the topic of family, Vernon began to reminisce in regards to the past when he had spent time with them. "I cannot suppose to understand the life you hold with your family. But, I am glad I have loving parents as well." Watching the new act the young lord displayed, "I would like to thank you for your kind invitation lord Sarne, reveling in the furnishings of the keep would be quite the experience". Especially when an inn would charge me for a night. It may not be comfortable, but what's comfortability when it comes down to cost? A small laugh reverberates from his mouth, "With a man of nobility with the equipment you wear, safety will not likely be an issue." Even if there were issues crop up, I may be able to practice my magic a bit more. Don't forget the old adage, 'practice makes perfect'. "The Dawnsage house? Nevertheless, let's take a quick review of the map and hopefully be on our way". Peering at the map, locating the destination occupied only a few seconds of time before he understood the route they should take. "I believe I can find the atelier. Shall we?" He says while leading the way towards their goal.

Looking back at Sylvari "My apologies then. I would think we could be from the same line of lineage. My like from what I was told is the Sun. I know he hunts monsters or evil arcane users, not all just the one that would sacrifice human life type of people." answered Sarne.
Looking at the map Sarne "Good map" he comments. Looking it over and seeing where she is pointed it was not too far from where they were. The streets were busy so nothing too bad could happen thought Sarne. but the place Sylvari did point at was not the best part of the city but sarne would stay quiet for now and see where they get led.
Walking with the others Sarne kept an eye out for the little fingers. The fingers that like to whats say and collect stuff from individuals that might not need it as much. With his family running a lot of the orphanages in the City and his cousin Sarris as well involved Sarne had a good idea of who to look out for. Now for the bigger two-legged thief rats. Sane would just cut them in half.

If anything, as the little group began moving towards and into the seedier parts of the city where the arcanist's shop apparently was, Sylvari grew more at ease, a gentle smile resting on her face. She waved to various people who, shockingly, returned the gesture, recognition evident in their gaze.
Indeed, progress was slow as Sylvari insisted several times on stopping to attend the various people about: Stopping here to give a few solars to a group of children, there to assist an elderly gentleman with carrying an obviously too-heavy box, and further still to expend impressive, radiant spells of healing to even minor injuries and ailments [Celestial, Holy Gifts (Massive Healing)].
Each time, she apologized to her companions for the delay, and though her feelings seemed genuine, such was her bleeding heart that no sooner did she finish an apology before turning to assist another. It seemed the downtrodden flocked to her like Woolfuls to their shepherdess.
The more sharp-eyed of her companions might even have seen shadowy figures approach the group, meaning to accost them only to be turned away by others in the small crowd or their own conscience, as the trio moved forward, unmolested, save for the constant requests and obligatory assistance.

Trotting along the path towards the atelier, Vernon slightly peers over at the map a few times to adjust himself while tracking their movements. Seeing that the group was quite close to the atelier, the speed he walked with accelerated a smidge. "We are quite close to our destination. It appears to be a small walk away". Within a couple feet of walking, a surprisingly dingy building appeared where the atelier is supposed to be. "What was the atelier labeled? Alcadazzar's atelier?" He searched for a sign with the name upon it, but much to his chagrin a name label for the building could not be found.
A semi rough voice echoed from inside the building, "What are you young folk doing outside my house?"
Surprised that someone would yell from inside of a building rather than talk to them outside was a tad surprising for the young elf. "Hello, we are in search for Alcadazzar's atelier. Have you heard of this place before?" He began to wonder if such a run down building could be what they were in search for, but the appearance is completely different from what he had imagined. Though, he has never seen one.

Happy to see the generosity of Sylvari. It rivaled his own He too would give some coin here or there one group of kids came up to Sarne "Lord Sarne, Lord Sarne, We have not seen you as of late. We feared you would not return." they said to him Sarne insured them he was back and he was fine. They gave their condolences about his family and asked about his cousin. Again Sarne insured them.
Every time Sylvari tried to apologize for stopping Sarne would put up his hand and tell her not to worry. Sarne was more worried about Vernon and if he was in a hurry to get to their destination. What Vernon thought of all this help the people type of thing. Everything seemed good and they would make it to the place they had been looking for.
Looking around and hearing the voice Sarne could tell the others were surprised as well at the man's question. "doorstep?" Sarne mumbled. He had been around this area before but never to this building. It was old and the wood shutters and trim eroding vines had taken over the building and who know what vermin could be running around. This was not the best part of town but it was still light out so he was sure they would not have any trouble.
An old man started to be seen walking up. dressed in common clothing and using a staff to walk. His long gray hair and wrinkled skin showed his age. Sarne wondered if this old man would be any help.

As the old man made his way out of the building, Sylvari repeated Vernon's answer to the question. "Good sir, we were searching for Alcadaz-"
In a burst of motion that belied his age, the man rushed forward to place a finger against Sylvari's lips.
"Are ya daft, girl? Names have power, especially here, of all places. Do ya have the invitation?"
Sylvari suppressed a frown, wondering how she was meant to convey their destination without asking, but dutifully fished in her pack for the small, silvered disk that Romarii had given her. The man took the token into his hands, feeling around its smooth surface, before placing it halfway in his mouth and biting down hard, bending the metal slightly. He looked back at the trio with a mirthful light in his eyes.
"Been a while since we've had a premium guest. Come in, come in. Mind no one follows you, eh?"
The funny little man hobbled back inside, leading the group behind a counter where a trapdoor under a rug revealed a wooden stepladder leading down to a room with a glowing purple ambiance. As the man stepped onto each rung of the ladder, he seemed to be infused with more youth, or perhaps less reason to pretend, as by the end of his descent, he was walking as sure footed as any of them.
The man rushed behind a counter in the bizarre little storage room below and clapped his hands together. "Welcome, to Alcadazzar's Atelier for the Advancement of Arcana!" His statement was punctuated by a flaring of the purple glow, as all of the books and items on the scattered shelves began to float just above their normal placement.
"What can I interest you in today?"

Bleeding hearts, the two of them. Watching Sylvari pull out an item where the old man suddenly addressed the group of guests, a flash of suspicion arose in the young elf's heart. Muttering to himself, "It's none of my business". Even as he said this, his eyes kept resting upon the silvery disc.
Following the old man, Vernon took the opportunity to ask his companions a few questions. "Lord Sarne, have you ever heard of this place or other's like this? Lady Dawnsage, may I why you allowed the two of us to accompany you to this place? It seems far more mystical than I originally believed and you used an object which led us to have this old man address us as 'premium guests'? Is it truly worth us joining you, gaining more benefits where you may not receive much from us in this venture? Though now, that you've done such a thing for us. I cannot in good faith not vow that I owe you one. But, I do suppose we have to see what awaits us".
Slowly entering into the room, there was quite an amazing collection of arcane tomes and items. Surprise etched itself on Vernon's face. "May I touch a few tomes?"
Unsuprisingly, "You can pick up the tomes, be careful. No reading, that occurs after the coins enter my palm."
Perusing the many tomes that lay on the shelves, small gasps and sighs escaped from Vernon.

Sarne seemed surprised by the building the stuff inside was old but it was kept up. The air was dry and smelled of dust. The dim glowing purple ambiance candle and oil lamp light made it difficult to see but just enough light to see where you were going and some titles of the tomes.
Sarne could feel there was more to this place than books and he could feel like being watched. "To answer your question Vernon. I knew of the building and that it did have arcane tomes. But never been here myself. Never heard the Alcadazzar's Atelier name either." Answered Sarne with a friendly grin. Sarne could see the suspicion in Vernon's eyes.
"Coins old man? Don't denigrate Vernon. I am Sarne Sequoia Lord of Grey Stone Keep. My Grandfather is Duke Sequoia of The Grey Citadel, leader of the Vanguard of Solaria, and my Grandmother is Lady Sequoia High Priestess of Solaria. If you need coin I will make sure you get it, what coin would you like?" Asked Sarne sternly but with a tone of respect to the old man.

Sylvari giggled at Vernon's question, thinking confusion at extended kindness was thoroughly unnecessary but a good look for the young elf. "I didn't do it because I thought I could get something out of you for it, silly. You helped me locate the shop in the first place and had an interest in the arcane as well. How could I withhold my invitation in good conscience in a situation like that?"
As Sylvari browsed the tomes with wonder and respect, she heard the young lord's interaction with the stodgy shop owner, eliciting a smile from the justiciar. Given Romarii's description, that line of bargaining isn't likely to go too well with the old man. Sylvari was proven to be right in no time at all.
"Lord who of the whatsit? Look here, son, I don't rightly care if you're the bastard love child of Solaria himself. I don't trust the name, only the coin, and until such clatters in my hand, my tomes are for eyes only, no hands!" The scribe leveled an impressive stink eye toward the young noble, whose tact seemed to have stricken a nerve with the old man.
Sylvari, seeking to intercede in the altercation before it grew out of proportion, called for the shop owner to look at one of his books, a treatise on the dark arts that she had been searching for. "Excuse me, my good sir, I would be very much interested in purchasing this tome here." Sylvari pointed at the floating manuscript in question, angling her body in such a way as to keep its cover shielded from her companions' gazes.
"Aha, I see, girl. I had you picked for the sort upon first glance." The man quickly threw up hand signals indicating the price of the tome. Though it was a fairly exorbitant sum, Sylvari acquiesced and transferred the funds quickly to move past and hoped her companions didn't ask after the exchange.

"I wonder how long these tomes have remained upon these shelves". Plenty of dust has accrued along the shelves, a tad encasing the tomes themselves. Tome after tome, the young elf searched for more elemental spells. Unfortunately there were few he could understand from just perusing the selection. The only tomes he could distinguish were those beginner esque tomes.
Tapping the young lord on the shoulder, "Lord Sarne, there is no reason to be too serious about the coins. Everyone has to make a living somehow." Turning over to the old man with a small laugh, "don't worry old sir. Coin is needed for everything, if something catches my eye. There is no reason to pay an appropriate amount of coin for it".
A sigh permeates from Vernon as he pats lord Sarne on the back, his eyes shifting from the young lord to the young lady. I can only hope he receives my hint. "So what are your thoughts on our other companion lord Sarne?" A whisper so small, even those beside him could barely hear him.
He perused the shelves one by one, picking a few from the various shelves. Varying elemental tomes gathered into his hands, not much. Just enough for Vernon to pick up a few new tricks. Seeing the old man and the lady Dawnsage discussing price, he waited to purchase his own tomes.

Sarne wondered what Vernon was asking about Sylvari. He was not a fool and knew something was different. not sure exactly what was with Sylvari. But everyone has something to hide. "Later to your question, Vernon," whispered Sarne in reply. Why would Vernon bring stuff up now about Sylvari now thought Sarne.
Sarne shook his head at the old man. "I will let the insult to my family go," started Sarne. " The power of a name cannot be underestimated. It carries with it an array of meanings, cultural significance, and personal associations that shape who we are and how we are perceived. A name can be a source of pride, identity, and inspiration, and it can serve as a legacy that lives beyond our lives, Old man," stated Sarne with a crafty grin.
"Old man, I would think having such a vast room of knowledge. You would know of such things. I will be the greater one here and apologize for overstepping in your sanctuary. Trying to use my authority in a way not honorable," declares Sarne with a slight bow of respect. "And what is your name? Master of the tomes," asked Sarne straitening and looking at the old man now talking in a respectful tone.

The old man cocked an eye at Sarne, matching the young noble's crafty grin with a predatory one of his own. "As you said, lordling, names are powerful, if you invoke them at the proper place an' time. For our purposes here, I'm simply an old bookseller, a proprietor of wares. But I must say, you play the tone o' respect well, sonny. Maybe that noble training ain't all for naught." The man let out a disturbing chortle, as if he just shared the best joke in the world with close friends.
Sylvari shook her head and decided to absolve herself of the situation. I did what I could to ease tensions. It's a fight between honor and propriety now. I just hope it doesn't bubble over before we leave.
Having located the arcane assistance she was after, Sylvari decided to walk over to Vernon with a friendly smile on her face. "Do you need any assistance in locating what you're looking for, friend? I may not look it, but I'm fairly adept in multiple schools of magic, so I would be happy to pass along any guidance I have for you." Sylvari's countenance was genuine and radiant as the sun, as she tried to forget about the brewing storm behind them.

Hearing Sarne's reply to his question, the only response he could muster is a sigh and a shake of the head. Veering away from the situation between the young lord and the old man. Vernon went right back to searching for more tomes that could further his research into the elemental arcane. The collection within the building was incredible, there were tomes from all types of magic. It was difficult to pick only a few which could be of benefit for the young elf.
"Hopefully, there is something that would teach me more of the elements." Stepping around the atelier, barely escaping the discussion between the two.
"Oh? That would be most wonderful lady Dawnsage. Unfortunately, I am quite the novice at magic. So I do hope you could offer a sprinkling of advice for an aspiring mage. I am searching for a few beginner esque tomes of the space or sky domain." Seeing an offer of insight for a future path in the ways of the arcane, how could one resist it? So, Vernon took it. Pondering what there is for the lady to offer, he patiently waited in awe with a bit more respect mixed within.

Sarne turned away from the quote old bookseller and walked over to Vernon. Sarne shook his head thinking. "Vernon, It was not the coin it is the way he said it," explained Sarne looking over the same books. Sarne glanced over to Sylvari and then back at the books. "To answer your question, Different, might be hiding something. But that is her business. She is not a threat so not a concern of mine. I do have an idea but I will not pry into her life, well not here." explained Sung whispering.
There were so many books here Sarne thought many more than he had seen in the Citadel. Sarne could only wonder what else the Old bookkeeper could have around here. Even maybe something on that was used to kill his family. a lot of emotions and thoughts started to run through Sarne's min. to the point Sarne started to sweat a little bit.

Sylvari pursed her lips and brought a gloved finger to rest on her bottom one. "Hmm, neither of those are arcana I'm very practiced in." Piqued in her interest by Vernon's request, Sylvari opened her mental third eye granted by her cursed lineage [Chaos Touched] to view the arcana within the elf. She detected the first beginnings of new magic from each domain swirling within him, each yearning to be cultivated to fruition.
"You have the talent for it. I can tell." Sylvari gave a disarming smile to punctuate her words. "Now let's see if I remember my lessons... Sky arcana comes from the heart, from flights of fancy and weightless desires. Space arcana is a little different. It's the only one that comes from outside of the body, specifically our connection to the world and those around us. Romarii told me that the act of pursuing magic in accordance with its grounding in the world was as important as the incantations themselves. So, I think asking for help is already helping your space magics grow. As for, sky..."
Sylvari quickly perused over the available tomes, selecting three that she could detect the gentle swirling of air and sky coming from: one a gentle blue, the second a stark white, and the third a brilliant yellow.
"Which of these jumps out at you?"
