"Finally no more rocking. That blasted boat was not exactly a comfortable ride. The seats were unbearably prickly. How could anyone ride in this with the addition to the swaying of the waves?" A thin, yet slightly muscular elf unboarded the unfortunate mode of transportation. The high sun beaconing rays upon the skin of the elf, elucidating a light brownish hue. Small sparks of differing colors emanate from the tips of his fingers, a variety of elements exposed to the light. "At the very least, this trip was not unfruitful". Raising his hands in front of his face, where it can be seen the amount of control this elf has over the magic he casted.
Turning towards the captain of the ship, Vernon slightly bowed where he dipped his head a small degree forward. "I appreciate the ride".
"Yeah alright. Don't think I didn't hear what you said a second ago. I just did you a service, you paid for".
Stepping onto the dock of Capitol Landing, small creaks can be heard from his steps. Those small creaks were soon overshadowed by the busy people among the dock. There were many stores and even more stalls along the main road, some sold food while others sold items. "The probability of discovering a magic tome is incredibly disparate in a market such as this, but it can't hurt to search around. I may be able to discover tomes containing less expensive knowledge". Suddenly a waft of grilled meat crossed paths with his nose, inviting him to sate his hunger first. As he motioned towards the food stand, he became amazed at how many folk there were in this one area. Causing him to gape at the new scenery, taking in all that he saw.

Walking back from visiting his cousin Sarris and her ship The Basrion. Sarne was still thinking a lot and how he would handle things in time. Sarne thought he would get his ship in time. The hustle and bustle of the people of the Port and the Docks moving about doing their business. There were many shops and even more booths along the main street leading back into the central part of town.
Sane paused at the smell of his favorite meat grilled on a stick with other vegetables. The smell was heavenly as it floated on the breeze. Sarne strolled towards the food stand. Sarne had forgotten how big the crowd was here. Making Sane gaze at the sight, taking in all that Sarne saw it was good to be home.
Walking up to the food stand a man got there before him. The man standing sorter than Sarne. the man looked to be a Sylvan Elf. The man had an air of quiet strength and grace. His skin, much like the rich, fertile soil of the forest floor, has taken on the hues of warm, earthy brown. The man had locks of auburn hair, reminiscent of autumn leaves ablaze with russet and gold that framed his face. His eyes were a mossy green. He is dressed in garments woven from leaves, vines, and the supple bark of ancient trees well fitting and flowing.
Looking at the man Vernon. not know his name Sane sniffed the air. "Now that is one of the best Food Stands in this market" commented Sarne.
The Man and woman see Sarne their eyes widen "Young Lord Sarne, good to see you," they say in unison over the noise of the people there.
The man they called out to has soft features like an elf with a husky build. You can tell he is a nobleman in the way he presents himself, his armor, and his clothing. His piercing green eyes shine in the light. He stands almost 6 feet. His dirty blond hair is neat and well-kept. His skin is slightly tan showing the time he spent in the wilderness. The Harness he wars underneath the cloak, but over normal attire, the harness comes equipped with numerous leather rings and straps to which larger equipment can be secured close to the body.
A full-body cloak with long wide sleeves and a hood, made of canvas is a flat, matte grey color, His cloak is large enough to fully cover his body, and then some, able to hide his arm and leg movement while under the cloak. His armor and cloak have a crest that could be seen on his front and back, A large tree with two wolf heads on each side pointing at the tree with three stars above it. With a black sword in the background pointing down with a holy rune over it and a fire rune under it.

Quite uncharacteristically for the young justiciar, Sylvari was paying no attention to her surroundings as she walked through the port district of Sol City. She had in her hands a large, unfurled scroll that blocked her vision as she studied, relying on the instinctual following of the crowd around her to guide her steps as she walked. The throng of people surrounding Sylvari gave her a wider berth than most, likely intimidated by the full set of darkened plate she wore.
It was obvious to any casual observer that the woman with a black and silver half veil over her eyes was having trouble reading the page, lost in the myriad winding paths of the city. So engrossed was she in the activity, that she barely noticed the tempting smells of the district's food stands. She idly thought how much she'd like to try a snack.
Nope, not going down that road again. Every type of mortal food I've tried is ashy and acidic. What a cruel joke it is that I can still smell it as tasty as when I could enjoy it... Focus, Sylvari. You need to find this arcana shop to find a tome about necromancy.
Sylvari was just beginning her journey into the dark arts, a foray she had never engaged in before, and with no foundation to build off of, she would need to acquaint herself with the basics of the art.
She was so busy with her thoughts that she failed to detect the crowd's sudden parting, and consequently stumbled right into a pair of elven men, in line for the food stall.
"Oh my gods! I'm terribly sorry, darlings. Please forgive me." Sylvari punctuated her apology with an endearing close-lipped smile as she twirled her long, platinum hair idly around one of her fingers.

Turning his head towards the entry of the one addressed as 'young lord Sarne', an elven nobleman? What ever could he be here for? Is he the firstborn heir to a noble house or was he granted lordship for an extraordinary achievement? Either way, he could help me gain access to more difficult to find tomes. "Where are my manners? I'm terribly sorry for my lack of manners. It is my pleasure to make your acquaintance young lord Sarne. I am but a humble elf by the name of Vernon." Staring at the larger elf, Vernon performed a bow as best he could. Albeit, the form of it was quite clumsy.
As he rose from his bow, a lady had collided with him and Sarne. Almost knocking the young elf over. Luckily, he managed to save himself and was able to view which person did such an act. A young lady wearing that much armor? No, that's not the point. Why is she emanating a slight violent undertone in her actions, which are supposed to be endearing? Quickly separating himself from these two to move back into the line. "Please, my lady. Do not be sorry, you did not hurt either of us here. I would say 'no harm, no foul' here, what say you young lord Sarne?" Flashing a charming smile back to her, "if you do not mind young miss, may I ask for your name?"
"It appears as fate has led us all to a food stall here. A very weird fate, I would say."
"Next!"
"Ahhh, it appears that I am next in line. For such an auspicious meeting, how about the young lord Sarne and the young miss order with me. Perhaps we can learn a bit from one another."
Walking towards the food stand, taking in all the earthly and wondrous smells from the freshly cooked meat. Quickly and indiscreetly wiping a tiny amount of drool from the corner of his lips.

Sarne quickly compensates for being almost knocked over putting his hands up to make sure the lady does not fall or she lose any of her scrolls in her arms or hands.
Vernon Quickly separated himself from these two to move back into the line. "Please, my lady. Do not be sorry, you did not hurt either of us here. I would say 'no harm, no foul' here, what say you young lord Sarne?"
"Are you fine, My Lady," said Sarne with a cute smile. She had beauty, Maybe not too much grace at the moment. But Sarne did know something was off a feeling he could not shake. Nothing dangerous but different almost na.. thought Sarne.
The crowd was looking at them and whispering to one other as Sarne and the others interacted. Nothing threatening more interest than anything. Watching Sarne react to the women. Some nobles can be so cruel but that's not how Sarne was raised and not very noble to Sarne being mean.
He could tell she was an exceedingly pale woman of average height. Her silver blond hair is vibrant long, and well-maintained, she did look somewhat imposing with her armor but her body language said otherwise. A veil of black and silver, worn over the upper half of her face, concealed her eyes. Something Sarne found mysterious. Sarne observed an edge about her demeanor, a paranoia as his eyes looked around at the crowd.
"I have no problem with all of us going up there. It will buy for all of us." Sarne raises a hand before anyone can abject. "you own nothing in return call it my good deed for the day." explained Sarne.
As they got up to the food stand "Auspicious meeting, Ah... yes we can call it that," replied Sarne to Vernon.

"Ah, of course, Sylvari Dawnsage, a pleasure to meet you."
Sylvari's demure smile hid the turmoil within. Fine clothing and people gawking: he must be a noble. This complicates things. I wonder how he knows the other elf. It seemed the excursion to the arcanist would have to wait, as Sylvari found herself bound by social convention and the pressing stares of no small number of onlookers. Clearly, they were invested in the aristocrat's actions, so her own would be scrutinized as well by proximity.
Sylvari bit back a sigh as the pair offered to eat together, not favoring spoiling the heavenly smell with the unfortunate reality of the taste. Still, I don't seem to have much of a choice. A few of the women in the crowd are staring daggers of murderous intent just by my proximity. I don't imagine I'll hear the end of it if I turn down this invitation. I can choke down a meal and play nice for as long as I need to until I can make a polite exit, just like Romarii taught me.
"How generous, my lord. While it is unnecessary, it is appreciated, all the same." Might as well learn about them while I'm here. They could be points of contact for my mission later, or at least, ones to avoid. "Forgive my impropriety, but if we mean to sup together, would you mind sharing a bit about yourselves?"

A very small smile arrives on Vernon's face. Hmm, it appears as though the crowd is forcing them to reply in a polite and respectable manner. I would have to take whatever they say with a grain of salt to ensure that I grasp whether they are truthful or not. Quite laughable, but then again I never was around nobles. Perhaps I'll learn more about social conventions after interacting with them. The young lord Sarne appeared generous for his offer while Vernon lightly nodded towards his action in appreciation.
A tad alarmed from the lady's suggestion, Vernon internally raised his alarm of the pair. Becoming more prepared for something to happen. "Well my lady, let me introduce myself then. I am a humble sylvan elf hailing from the area of Moonglade. Knowledge is all I seek, arcane or otherwise. In fact, that is the particular reason I appeared in this region. To become a student of the arcane academy." It was clear from the way he held himself that he had trouble that kept him from doing so.
"It is quite unfortunate that the port near the academy does not allow ships to unload passengers, especially without explicit instructions to do so. Though it appears that I may have a chance to acquire new knowledge here". From the way he spoke of knowledge, one could tell that that was the main reason he sought out new lands. Finally grasping onto the freshly cooked food, he was able to smell and taste a very nice treat. "Does this answer your question, young lady?"

Sarne looked at the crowd too. Sarne looked down and shook his head. Looking back up "Beabout your business nothing here to see," yelled Sarne looking at the crowd. As some started to move away Sarne smiled. "Where is screech when I need him," said Sarne.
Sarne looked back at Lady Dawnsage giving a bow "Lady Dawnsage, I am Sarne Sequoia Lord of Grey Stone Keep, Captain of the Shadow Wolves Hunters. I come from here, and if you look over there on that rock outcropping in the distance that is The Grey Citadel where my keep is and my family is too or was." explained Sarne straiting with a smile. Sarne was not sure of her status rank but had some type with that armor and told him her family had status. "I am not sure about you two but I am hungry," stated Sarne motioning with his hand for the two to walk up to the food stand.
The man and woman bowed some "My Lady, My Lords, thank you for choosing my Food stand I am honored to serve you." said the man in a delightful tone.

A noble, a student... and a vampire. Describing the three of us sounds like the start of a bad joke. Sylvari sighed, stifling herself midway through, so as not to appear rude. Sylvari ordered the smallest bowl of food available, a wave of nausea already rising in her, anticipating the vile, discordant taste.
"I see. Thank you for indulging me, Sir, Lord. A question asked is only right to be answered in kind. I am a justiciar: a wandering warrior and judge that has pledged myself to the betterment of the common folk of Charon. I too have come to the city seeking knowledge, in the hopes that arming myself with new skills might advance my cause.
"On that note," Sylvari continued, showing the map scroll she had in her hands to her two companions. "Have either of you heard of Alcadazzar's Atelier for the Advancement of Arcana? I was hoping to purchase some tomes that would aid in the comprehension of new magics, but I'm not very familiar with the city. I fear I've rather lost myself in the lines of the page."
Sylvari smiled shyly, partly out of genuine embarrassment, and partly as a manipulative gesture to get the two men to help her, falling back unconsciously on Romarii's teachings.

Vernon motioned his face towards Sarne, "A lord and a, forgive me for assuming, mercenary leader? It appears you've had plenty of chances to roam the surface of our plane. May I ask if you've found any interesting tomes, which are of no use to you?" Vernon opened his arms to allow Sarne to approach the food stall, with the inclusion of a small bow. This phrasing should not be stepping on the toes of this gentleman. From his demeanor, one could at least sense chivalry. With this we can see there is a lower than a fifty fifty chance, he would resort to violence.
Turning to the lady, he held his head to ponder upon the question she posed. "Alcadazzar's atelier? Can't say that name has passed these ears of mine." This atelier sounds to be quite the intriguing place with at the very least, a few selection of arcane tomes. "Though, now that I have heard of such a place. I may venture there as well. If you do not oppose to it, perhaps we could travel there together?"
Finally reaching over to collect a small plate of food, well there is not much to lose in the case they turn down this invitation. Staring into space for a bit, he wondered 'cause', what type of cause is it? But, I suppose I should reign in my own curiosity at times like this. It would be extremely rude to intrude into her problems when we are but mere strangers.

Sarne takes a bite of some meat skewered with a stick and grilled cubes of meat with vegetables. "Most around here know me as Sarne Sequoia of Grey Stone Keep Or Young Lord Sarne, grandson of Duke Sequoia and next in line to inherit the title. Captain of the Shadow Wolves Hunters. Which is not exactly a mercenary group but more an extension of the Vanguard of Solaria an order within the church of Solaria. But to make it easy Young Lord Sarne or Lord Sarne or just Sarne when I get to know you." replied Sarne with a smile taking another bite of his skewer.
"I know that's a lot but when your family line goes back something like a thousand years it is a lot. The Grey Citadel is my family's stronghold training place for the vanguard and head church for Solaria," explains Sarne.
"Enough about me. What type of tomes are you looking for? I don't know much about Arcana spells or ways. I do know the best teachers in the area and libraries as well where you can look for what you might need." said Sarne taking another bite of his skewered meat and vegetables.

Sylvari quirked one of the corners of her mouth in a wry smirk at the young elf's offer of company. Given her own jumbled sense of direction, a second set of eyes on the labyrinthine text she carried would only do her mission good. She could avoid purchasing the testier tomes while the elf remained.
"I daresay that a bit of company would greatly lift my spirits, Sir, on the condition you help me locate the shop."
Sylvari attempted to look into the elf's mind to see any lingering currents of arcana about his spirit [Chaos Touched], given his interest in magic, but she found no traces lingering about him. He was either newly initiated into the study or else supremely capable of hiding his own talent. In such cases, Sylvari could only sense magic as it was being cast.
Not wanting to appear rude before their noble chaperone, Sylvari turned to the young lord, between bouts of wolfing the food down as quickly as was socially appropriate. The sooner this is gone, the quicker I can get the wretched taste out of my mouth. "Of course, Lord Sequoia, you are more than welcome to come along as well, but given your statement, I can't imagine you'll find much there to capture your interest."

"Quite a lineage you are a part of, Lord Sarne. You've must've grown with a massive amount of resources at your beck and call. A thing to be envious of, but with sufficient personal prowess and prestige, such a person can only be respected by those around them". Apparently this young lord has more than a small amount of stories of the missions he has carried out through the past. "I thank you for entertaining my request Lord Sarne. To be transparent with the both of you, I am only beginning upon my journey as a student of the arcane arts. Picking up a few arcane trick along the way. I would appreciate information on any tome, if only to expand my worldview on the various arcane arts."
Staring at the young lady, "Ehem. Lady Dawnsage, I am honored to have your company. Though, I cannot say I would be able to discover the location of the atelier if you are unable to find it as well. Since I have never traveled there before. If there is a map with the atelier, I would be able to assist in finding the building." Strange, the young lady has the knowledge of the shop. Why would she not be able to locate it herself? No matter, at least I have found a way to attain information of the arcane.

"Massive amount of resources at My beck and call?" states Sarne. "If you only knew the truth. Yes, I had everything I needed growing up most of all loving parents and grandparents. Honestly, my father made me work for everything I had. He taught me nothing was free everything cost something. Be it money, life, or family." said Sarne with a smile. "A lesson I will never forget," Sarne said sounding a bit far off in his thinking.
Shaking his head Sarne looked up at Vernon and Sylvari. "Let me check my day to see if I have time to help you both," said Sarne with a grin. He looked up into the sky and then tested the wind direction. Looking at the ground carefully. Sarne looked a bit out of his mind. He looked at the two again. "You're in luck as fate has it I am free for a few days and if you need a place to stay I think you can stay at Gray Keep. I know how to get around this city lived here most of my life. The good and bad places I would be happy to travel with you both. It would be an honor to escort a Lady from the Dawnsage house. They do have a reputation as Justiciars. But we don't let's say associate in the same circles, I do know the name." explained Sarne "Now what are we looking for first?" Asked Sarne looking interested in their travels.

Sylvari let a nervous smile bloom across her face as she gave a light chuckle in response to Lord Sarne's words. "Ahem, my lord, I fear you may have me mistaken for a member of another family that bears the same surname. I am not of this city; I was born quite far away. As for my family..." Sylvari trailed off, thinking of the way her nomadic people slept in crafted tents and wore the skins of their monster kills on their armor.
"Let's just say that while they may be noble in spirit, their status is not the sort you're presuming. I am interested to hear of this other family that shares in my people's pursuits. Perhaps we were an off-shoot in the distant, distant, past."
As Sylvari spoke to the young lord, she merely sidled up next to the younger elf, rolling out her map and pointing to the desired destination, while never taking her eyes off her speaking target.
