The green, and brown colors with a touch of autumn fallen trees and trees that seem to stretch to the sky. The underbrush, moss, and thickets were at eye level it was a beautiful forest but a dangerous one too. The sound of branches creaking, squirrels chattering, wind whistling around trunks blowing lightly disturbing the leaves. birds singing, insects humming and churring, rustle of animals rooting in underbrush echoed through the woods. Shafts… of light pierced the tree tops giving some light in the dense forest.
The scents of trees and wildflowers could be smelled with the earthy smell and animal scents, and rotting wood made Sarne feel at home. Feeling the kiss of falling leaves the ground knobby roots underfoot, underbrush that tangles and grabs. Prickling of briars, slick leaves. Spider web strands on Sarne's skin this was nothing new to Sarne. He was at home in this environment.
Sarne had been walking for a few hours He had been looking for a woman named Kamille or that's what he remembered it was in his past something that was fuggy. all Sarne could remember were flashbacks of time spent at her house. Some were in the Moonglade forest he thought. He could only peace together he had been gone for a year which was a mystery. Something deep inside of him a feeling or memory has pulled him to want to find her. If he only knew why. The last thing Sarne remembers was walking through a fog and then ending up somewhere else it seemed the same lands Sarne knew but yet different. The more that Sarne thought on it the more distant it felt more confusing it got. He kicked at the soft dirt it was moist the whole place was lush. It did remind him of someplace he had been before as a child. This was not a swamp or a forest but in between. Sarne could smell the plant's mixed fragrances of all of them. He looks up at the sky some white clouds passing over in different shapes and sizes. Giving a sigh Sarne looked back forward this road was long and windy. This place had its beauty much like Kamille he thought as another flash of her came to memory. Sarne's instincts told him she would find him Sarne could not shake the feeling that she would not find her like he used to. Another memory flashed through his memory of a raven and a coin it had something he recognized. But the name slipped away.

Moonveil forest seemed calmer than usual, as even the random encounters with monsters and beasts felt rarer than it should be. A feeling of calmness that sounded a hitch ominous, yet it was hard to place it and explain. The birds were chirping, the small critters scurried away as the man walked through the forest, and beams of sun light escaped through the dense trees crowns.
Everything seemed right as it should be.
Or maybe...
"Are you lost, handsome?"
The voice came floating towards the young lord with a hint of provocation. It wouldn't take much effort for Sarne to spot him once he revealed himself, casually leaning against a tree down the path the young lord had just walked. Of course, it was also evident that he wasn’t anywhere near it just a second ago [1,2].
It was a half elf, of a rather slim build, his smile a charming one. He was dressed all in black from head to toe, and while his features were smooth and handsome, there was nothing in him that struck a chord of familiarity. Almost lazily, Sarne would notice he had a bow resting against his side - arrow already nocked in place.
A lonely, feather pin rested on his chest.

Sarne stopped walking and just looked head down the road, trail, whatever this path was called. Taking in a breath Sarne let out a sigh and then chuckled. He just stood for a minute not doing or saying anything. Sarne has soft features like an elf with a husky build. He is strong and has swift movements can be seen in his walk. You can tell he is a nobleman in the way he presents himself, his armor, and his clothing. His piercing green eyes shine in the light. He stands almost 6 feet. His dirty blond hair is neat and well-kept. His skin is slightly tan showing the time he spent in the wilderness. His armor has a crest that could be seen on his front and back, A large tree with two wolf heads on each side pointing at the tree with three stars above it. With a black sword in the background pointing down with a holy rune over it and a fire rune under it. This man he looked tiered his eyes had the story of recent hardships. "Lost, yes you can say that. If you plan attacking get it over with. I do not have much left and the others that have tried are all left without life. I am Sarne Sequoia of Grey Stone Keep Captain of the Gray Keep Hunters Black Wolves." Sarne announced. His voice was stern one of experience but had a tone of being weary.

It was uncertain if his title granted something other than disdain on the archer's part, but he did bite his tongue on account of the taunting that he was about to hurl his way. Not for the noble man's sake, but for Mother Raven's sake. She had friends in all kinds of circles, and he had been lectured enough times about not stepping on people's toes once he became an extensiong of the Witch of Moonglade.
"If I wanted to attack you, I would've already done it, don’t you think?"
Yet, he wouldn’t trust him by default either.
A flutter of wings brought some chaos to an otherwhise silent clearing, and a moment before the raven had landed on the archer's shoulder. He looked over to the bird.
"What do you think, Mischief? Perhaps we could escort the noble Lord Sarne back to the village if he asks nicely, huh?"
The raven looked to the man for a moment. It occurred to the archer it was unusual to see the raven so deeply in thought, as if he was searching in his tiny bird brain for something...
"CAWWWW! Sarne! CAW! Sarne friend! Caaaawwwww!"
"...what?"

Letting out a soft chuckle. "Mischief I see you have not changed. I have something for you." said Sarne ever so slowly reaching into his cloak and pulling out a treat for Mischief. "Here old friend" Sarne offered holding it up. "Lady Kamille, Witch of Moonglade. Sure people call her that. But She was always a Lady and kind with beautiful and grace to me and my house. I am pleased that she has people like you looking after her," remarked Sarne his tone more relaxed. Sarne had to hold his temper as well this was a servant of Lady Kamille. Sane would want the same respect for his retainers.
Sarne looked at Mischief. Then at the man. "Excuse my hostilities It has been a little tense lately and I have been traveling for some time," said Sarne with a small smile. Sarne wanted Mischief to get his treat. " it would be a great help if you could show me to your Lady." requested sarne.

Mischief promptly flew over to Sarne, taking the treat he offered without a hint of hesitation. That seemed to have the man relax just a little his bow arm, even if his expression still showed doubt.
Slowly, almost begrudingly, he put the bow away. It felt like it had more to do with Mischief's reaction than with Sarne's words.
"Apologies, my lord. These are dangerous times to walk alone through the forest. I'll take you to my Lady."
The archer offered him a polite smile, indicating the path down the trail and taking the lead, looking over his shoulder to make sure Sarne was following.
"Name's Allan, by the way. I'm afraid it's been increasingly hard to find Lady Kamille these last days. You'll understand."
It wouldn't take a long walk for them to come across a clearing, near a brook. Allan's remark imediately made sense: despite being the same house that he remembered, at least on the outside, now it had... legs? It didn’t sit between two mounts anymore, over a raging river, but could apparently change locations on a whim.
Kamille was outside, near the river, with her trademark purple robe. Next to her, seated on a rock was a man that was dressed much like Allan - but this was a larger half elf, with broad shoulders and not a hint of the pleasant smile his partner carried. With his torso exposed, the Witch seemed focused on changing the bandages he had wrapped around his body.
Allan's voice boomed cheerfully.
"My Lady! Look who I found! Like a stray kitten, walking around the forest searching for mommy!"

Walking with Allan Sarne did not want to seem rude. For not talking to him. "Good to meet you, Allan. I know this forest and its dangers just been a long time since I have been here and it has changed," commented Sarne to Allan.
After getting into the clearing Sarne could see Kamille was outdoors, close to the river, wearing her trademark purple robe that Sarne remembered. Her dark, blue eyes Redish cheeks, creamy skin, and black locks of hair cascade down to her waist. Her hair was loose, blowing in the breeze. Kamille was a site of beauty it would take one hell of a man to catch her interest if Sarne remembered. Really out of his league anyway. Next to her, was a man that was dressed in black. He was a larger half-elf man, with a hint of the pleasant smile his partner carried. Kamille changed the bandages he had wrapped around his body. It warmed Sarne to see her once more after the time had passed. Some of the memories were coming back to him of their time together visiting.
Chuckling at Allan's kitten comment in the older days Sanre probably would have taken offense to such a comment but the last years have tempered him a little.
Sarne lifted his hand into the air. "Hale, My Lady Kamille. I see you are as beautiful as ever! I see that you have some loyal scary guards now" said Sarne in a somewhat joking way but with a little respect toward her retiners.
Sarne continued to walk up to Kamille with his hands in plain sight so as not to make her retainers nervous.

Allan was far from being a quiet one, and once the tension from their encounter had faded, he happily obliged in exchanging a few pleasantries.
"A lot has changed, absolutely... Although I cannot say if the forest is safer or not... Most of the beasts will avoid the vicinity of Kalaf's nest, but on the other hand... A few wrongdoers have already tried their luck against the Witch's drake."
Kamille herself didn’t look a day older, the same rebellious locks of lustrous black hair cascading down to her waist, the same purple robe revealing her shoulders and fair skin. The same smile, dimples and all. Warm, true.
It didn’t take long for her to flash that smile at him, opening her arms to receive him with a warm hug as she quickly covered the distance between them.
"Oh my! Lord Sarne! It's been so long! How you've been?! My, it feels like ages ago since your last visit! Come in, come in! Did you have your breakfast? Do you have somewhere to stay? I had some alterations done to the house, so you won't have to sleep on the couch this time, I promise..."
Unlike the lady and Allan, the half elf that was being patched up didn’t feel nearly as chatty, only acknowledging Sarne's presence with a nod of the head. Kamille was quick to introduce once she stepped back from hugging Sarne.
"I see you already met Allan. This is Edgar. Business are growing, I'd say... what about you? Haven’t heard of you for a moment..."

Sarne chucled at the comment about the Being on the couch. He could not remember that. Silent for a moment looking a bit overwhelmed. Sane gave a hug back to Kamille. "I wish I could say busy, Kamille. It feels like I was asleep for the last year. I could say held for the last year with no explanation." Sarne started to explain stepping back. Sarne was holding both of Kamille's hands gently. " I woke up about a week ago in the Moonveil Forest," Sarne tells Kamille his voice sounded fatigued. Sarne had a strong scent of roses on him something not from this area.
"When I realized where I was, I looked for you. My memory is fuzzy. It feels like looking into a fog. But your face came to me and somehow I knew where to look for you. Well, sort of. I asked and finally got a direction to go on. Then Allan found me. I can not forget Mischief," explained Sarne. He smiled, "Something to drink would be great if you have something you could spare" asked Sarne humbly. Sarne could not stop staring into her eyes as flashes of memories came back to him of the last time he was there with Kamille and his cousin.

Her delight in seeing Sarne seemed somewhat tainted by worry as he described how he'd spend the past few months. She was used to people coming to her in hopes of solving their problems, so it wasn’t that much of a surprise. Kamille grabbed him by the hand and started to lead him into her house.
The difference from his first visit was glaring: instead of a small cabin, Sarne was greeted by the interior of what could've been a large castle, with black and white marble floor, the walls lined with shelves covered in arcane tomes and scrolls. Definitely larger than it looked on the outside, certainly due to some space bending - only fitting, expected even, of Kamille.
She led him to the kitchen, that looked, more or less, much the same as before. Herbs hanged from the ceiling in clusters, and a big boiling cauldron sat there, with a spoon stirring on its own.
"I'm sorry to hear you've been in some trouble, and I hope I can be of help. Sit, I'm gonna make some tea. I'm glad Allan found you, then. The forest... Is not safe anymore. You said you woke up in the forest? What else do you remember? Did you remember me? And what else?"
As Sarne made himself comfortable, Kamille already busied herself with making some tea and getting him a serve of warm food.

Sarne took a sip of his tea. "I don't think anyone could forget you Kamille," answered Sarne. "what I remember some I think was wine and My cousin I think you were teaching her something. I think there was a fight maybe but that is fuggy too." explained Sarne taking another sip of tea. "I think you for seeing me so unannounced and this tea is good. Yes, I woke up in the forest I have been on the road for a week looking for you. As for dangerous, I would be lying if I said I had no problems. I had to run a few times." said Sarne with a grin.
Sarne looked up was it Kamille's beauty that made him think of her or was it her kindness? Sarne was not sure. But his heart jumped when he saw her. Like seeing a friend you have not seen in a lifetime. Someone you cared about and lost then found them. There were few people he could say he thought of this way and she was one of them. Sarne looked at the soup that she gave him it smelled so good and the bread looked soft better than the rations and animals he Hunted on the way.
"I do remember parts of my life but things flash then disappear like a fog lifting to show something and then returning to hide it all again. I know there was a quest given to me by my grandfather an odd quest. I know I was taken at some point I don't remember who then I woke up in a Rose garden beautiful Rose garden there was always light it was warm not seem to get cold it was surrounded by white clouds every time I tried to leave I just went back there." Sarne was trying to remember and explain what he saw.

Sarne's initial remark made Kamille's smile become somewhat bitter.
"You'd be surprised. But thank you, you're very galant."
The story he told sounded like a lifetime ago, and her smile became genuine once again as she remembered it. It's been a while since she last saw Sarris, her first apprentice. Kamille wondered she was doing well, since last time she was chaperoned by a red drake. Her first apprentice, well off on her own. The thought warmed her heart.
"Before we jump to work and try to sort your memories out, I suggest you take the day to recover. Eat, drink, and I'll get you some fresh clothes for after your bath. I assume you're around Edgar's size, so it'll work. Try to recover, please. We'll figure out your grandfather's quest and the rose garden, I'll help you."
Kamille reached out to squeeze his forearm, trying to reassure him that everything was alright. Then she stood up and went to tend to something on the counter with the alchemy supplies.
"For now, I'll recommend a bath and a good night's sleep. Do you remember anything about Sarris? It's been a while since I last saw her... But I'm curious about this rose garden you said you'd continually come back to."

Sarne was comforted by Kamille when she squeezed his arm. Sarris thought Sarne. He had not heard too much about her she had not been seen much either she was held for a while on the suspicion of being behind the deaths. sarne realized he had been on the move for a week now and how unpresentable he must be. "My cousin Sarris I heard from some sources was last seen out at sea on a ship. Something that she inherited the ship and is now captain of the ship," replied Sarne with a blank stare in thought.
Sarne had a flash of a memory of a porch and sitting with Kamille. The mist over the water the stary night and drinking from a bottle. Sarne woke up next to her with a blanket over them both. Sarne knew nothing had happened between them but it was one of the better times he could remember. It was then Sarne discovered that something with strong emotions he could remember like Sarris and Kamille. His family and some friends.
When Sarne heard the words good night's sleep and bath it sounded like heaven to Sarne. He had a sense of everything around him but he felt safe. Sarne could feel Allan checking on him now and then. Sarne was not bothered by Allan he was doing what he thought best for Kamille. It did not take him long to see how Kamille had things running He had been a leader for a while now and knew what to look for.
"I accept the bath and sleep." With the mention of the bath, he sniffed himself and made a face. "Definitely the bath," said Sarne looking at Kamille. Sarne's eyes seem to have a noticeable spark of life now. Sarne's face has a little more color other than dirt smudges. drinking the rest of his tea and eating his soup Sarne asked where he was to clean up and rest.

Kamille smiled widely when he talked about Sarris. Captain of a ship? She could certainly see that! It warmed her heart to know the girl was doing just fine out there in the world... It’s been a while since she last saw her, perhaps it was time for her to arrange a reunion if she could reach her...
"Oh! Of course! Follow me! Let me grab you some clothes to change into first."
Kamille's house definitely felt like a castle on the inside now, with long corridors of stone and fancy candlesticks all around. Here and there he could have the feeling of small critters watching: some skittering here, some light shuffling there. Maybe it was just Mischief, but it wouldn't be a far stretch to think she had other creatures with her.
First stop was at her own room, where she went straight to the walk in closet. The room itself had a decidedly gothic decor, with black roses on her parapet. If Sarne decided to walk into the room with her, he'd have a good view of her wardrobe: fine gowns and quality leathers, silks and furs. Kamille had an expensive taste, and more money than she'd let it on judging by the amount of designer clothes and jewels there. A section on her closet seemed to be destined for the spares for the Black Quills, black leathers in more than one size. She was picking something from that pile. Right behind her, one piece in particular stood out between her finer silks: a dark robe, damasc with moon patterns embroidered in silver, as luxurious as it could get. Decidedly a man's robe. Certainly not something for guests or even the Black Quills. The clothes she pushed in Sarne's hands were much simpler, even if of great quality: a white poet's blouse and some leather pants.
"Here, take these. I guess these will fit you. Now follow me."
More than a few notes more luxurious than her prior situation, Kamille showed him to a literal bathhouse, lined with white marble. A difuse, soft light with no source made it look all the more inviting.
"Take your time. I will be at the library at the entrance hall."

Sarne's eyes were wide looking at the bathhouse. Lined with white marble the watered was heated sarne could tell how the steam lifted from the water. This room was warm and felt so relaxing. it had everything changing blinds off to one side if needed. Selves to put your clothing small box with sope and cloth to wash yourself. Sarne thought on his which was smooth stone and wood different than Kamille's.
Sarne gave a slight bow to Kamille. "Thank you, Lady Kamille. You are so kind," said Sarne grateful for the bathhouse. After Kamille stepped out of the room Sarne walked over to the changing area or that's what it looked like. this did remind him of Sol city a flash of a memory of a bath house there but not this lavish.
As Sarne took off his armor and clothing and set it to one side when his feet touched the white marble it felt warm, not cold like he thought it would be with the soft glow of the room felt like the sun was on his skin. Sarne looked over to the pile of armor and clothing Sarne felt bad about the dirt that it would leave behind.
Sarne started to walk toward the pool of water and stopped and was going to reach for his sword. He sighed "Not need here I hope," Sarne mumbled to himself. he picked up one of the little open-top boxes made of ornate wood. Walking over to the pool of water and slipping in the water was warm and relaxing Sane could feel the grime and dirt lift off him. Sarne's body relaxed He sat back with his head laid back resting.
Sarne just stared up at the soft white glow. It felt to him he had not relaxed in years as the water flowed around him. Sarne took a few relaxing breaths. then dipped his head under the water coming up slowly letting the water run off and cleansed his hair. He laid his head back again looking up. he closed his eyes and moved the water around with his hands. it was moments later he was asleep resting for the first time in a year.
