Vonoros had just woken up from his midday nap on his beach chair in the middle of the beach he yawned and rubbed his stomach feeling great hunger.
He then checks his pockets to look for any spare solars to buy some food to stop his hunger but finds them empty.
He stretches, folds up his beach chair, and slowly makes his way to the nearest tavern, “Time to look at the quest board for a job to get some food money”, he thought.
He drags his feet as he walks until he enters the tavern and looks over the available quests, “Hm this one seems like the least effort needed", and he decides to help two warring clans dispute territories and settle past grudges as their children were getting married. All they needed was a translator, sure Vonoros didn’t know dwarfish and elvish and they probably didn’t speak common but that was fine. He was trained in studying body language before he could even speak so he was sure it would be easy enough.
He then left the tavern jogging to enter the forest in which the post on the board had requested the translator meet them.
He stopped by a small clearing and waited for someone to come and they did, a burly dwarf fellow and a tall bright elf woman greeted the triton and motioned him to sit beside them on a tree stump, he sat and was about to introduce himself before he heard a rustling behind them.

Sarris found herself doing a lot more scrapping to survive. With her cousin’s rise to power in the house she found herself less protected. This had not changed her view of life much, it just meant that it was harder to protect her orphans. She had heard some of the people talking about a job translating between two foreign factions. Some said it was a fools mission and probable would not pay much. When Vanoros looked at the paper she knew that she needed to follow him.
Following the man was easy, she did what she normally did in these cases. She stepped in tan alleyway and changed herself into they gray mouser. A harmless little cat. With her disguise set she slinked after her prey.
The problem with being a house cat was short leg. This is why cats weave back and forth between peoples legs when the walk. Besides trying to kill you, it also forces a person to walk slower. Saris let out a curse at Vonoros’ long strides. It came out as a growling meow.
She was not going to run after a man with a trident. Things in the sea and cats tended not to get along very well and she did not want to find out there was a grudge till she absolutely had to.
She arrived after the group sat down. A Dwarven man and a Elven woman. ”Interesting,” Sarris thought as she moved through the shrubbery at the edge of the clearing.
With a bit of grace, Sarris switched back to her human form only to realize she had burrs stuck in her hair. “Ow,” she chirped and a tangle caught on her clothes pulling hard against her head.
“I am Sarris, the grey,” she said trying to figure out how to save some dignity from her entrance. “I think I can help some,” she said to Vonoros. Then with an elvish manners Sarris bowed to the woman and said in elvish, “Good day, My Lady!”

Vonoros yawned loudly as the surprising falling newcomer fell out of the bush before saying, “Woah bush lady seems like you’re here to join us on our little translation conference. At least it'll help me a ton since someone else is here to do some translating".
As Vonoros closed his eyes to yawn he sharpens them if only for a second observing the newcomer this so-called Sarris the Grey, she seemed alright decently mannered however something about her seemed familiar.
He could tell someone was following him but never found out who for that he was glad since hunting someone down for following him would be way too much work, especially for something he wasn’t getting paid to do.
He shifts his focus back on his job at hand the two ambassadors wait for the new guest to get themselves comfortable on a nearby tree stump before they begin speaking.
The dwarf fellow begins with a loud grunt before divulging their issues with great difficulty; his words are slurred and unpronounced but Vonoros was able to piece the main gist of what he’s saying.
“Alright me and the woman here come from our families to seek peace with the help of a neutral party. We have been warring for a handful of generations because of a resource division and territory lines between our clans. We have organized a meeting between our clan leaders and you two to broker some sort of peace agreement before the two heirs of our clans are to be married”.
Javal nods lazily and signals with his hands that sounds alright to lead him and Sarris to the location.
The group then goes into the forest with the two diplomats bickering in their languages along the way.

Sarris was not surprised when the woman gave her a look. Every woman knows the look, the one of pure judgement like when you step animal fecal mater when you are not wearing shoes. Sarris knew it well both the feeling and the look. She was wearing the wrong clothes, the wrong shoes- being barefoot, her hair was a mess, and she was worst of all a half-elf. That would not stop her from trying to help.
Sarris kept her Mage demeanor up as long as she could. It lasted about ten steps into the woods. Where she smiled and let out a sigh of delight. Woods were beautiful.
“Child do you act like this often?” The Elvin woman asked her. “Yes, my lady,” she said back.
After a few steps she remembered that Vonoros probably did not understand Elvish. “My lady asked if I was always like this,” Sarris said smiling. “I told her yes,” she added like this was a secret being expressed for the first time.
Speaking to Vanoros, she asked the big question,”So what is your plan? I only know a few Dwarven curses that a lady should not say!”
Sarris smiles and nods to the dwarf like she had seen other dwarves did.

Javal was half falling asleep as the group continued walking through the forest going to the location of the peace summit.
He was keeping an eye open to listen in on Sarris and the elf lady’s conversation but not really understanding much just noticing a small judgmental look from the woman to Sarris.
Javal assumed it was probably political and simply continued his walking slumber, he didn’t care for politics all he was here for was the quick cash.
His head slowly raised from its walking slumber as he heard Sarris talk to him, “Oh really Ms. Sarris you seem quite lovely and fun anyways goodday” trying to nod off back to sleep only to hear Sarris attempt some more conversation.
Vonoros's eyes were awakened once more and said, responding to Sarris’s question by getting a little close to hear and whispered, “Uh, the plan is to wing this thing until everyone is happy and gives us our solars. I know Dwarf decently well. My mom had someone tutor me in it. I know the language decently well to hold a conversation but I don’t know any curses”, he lets out a small grin, “Do tell me them for future reference if you could be my comrade”.
The two continued chatting before suddenly the dwarf fellow and elf woman stopped in front of some random empty-looking clearing.
The dwarf and elf woman then uttered some words in their native language, Vonoros was able to decipher some of the dwarf’s words understanding, “Open” and “Gate”.
Suddenly the invisible shroud before they changed and appeared as a very large banquet hall and a small set-up base for negotiations with two giant tents with sigils on either side of the large hall.

Beyond the veil was two camps, one side for the elves and the other dwarves. What caught her eyes was the tables of food that were being setup. The smell of cooked meat, baking bread, tarts, and chocolates drew Sarris into the vale. Her mouth watered smelling the feast that was prepared if they could negotiate the peace.
“This way, please,” came the voice from a young looking elven woman. Her features were long and lean and she had curves that made Sarris envious.
Sarris looked back at Vonoros and shrugged as someone from the Dwarven camp came to escort him into their circle.
“You are here to negotiate for us?” An older woman asked in a tone that indicated more of an order than a question. She spoke an older version of Elvish that she only heard at formal events.
“Yes, my Lady,” Sarris replied with a low bow like her grandmother had taught her. A hand wave dismissed her attempted at being formal.
“We do not have time for all that,” she said. “We will agree to the arrangement if the offspring will be educated in the Elven way,” she said.
The woman talked about trade and other details that made Sarris’ head spin. She listened and tried to take it all in. She hoped that Vonoros was having a easier time,

Vonoros walks slowly, almost dragging his feet making his way straight to a nearby food table the sweet sweet flavorful aroma drew him in but alas he was taken by one of the dwarves. He saw Sarris shrug at him and return her signal with an even lower shrug than her and was quickly dragged by his arm by a strange dwarf woman with red hair and pulled into a giant tent.
He barely has enough time to even let out a small “What” before he is surrounded and bombarded with dwarves all around him.
He quickly gets irritated and shouts in dwarvish, “Enough can you all just line up one at a time and speak clearly so I can understand you”.
The dwarves then settle down and point to a young strangely tallish dwarf man who walks up to Vonoros and begins, “Hello there good sir we have only a little bit of negotiations we would like as we are willing to accept most elvish traditions however there are a couple of things we hold firm on. Firstly we are to pay at least half of the wedding since we don’t want to feel indebted to those elves. Secondly, we can have a home in the middle of the two clans to compromise residency. Thirdly the wife is to take my brother’s last name even if it is only part of it, and finally, there is to be much much much alcohol at the wedding that is a non-negotiable".
Comoros simply nods along agreeing that most of what he said was reasonable at least then he says, “Sure that’s fine I can do that let’s meet up with them and begin at once”, he then walks over to the scheduled negotiation round table in the middle of the two camps.
