Ai lets out a small chortle at the short comment despite being a little under Adam's height herself. She approached, very obviously moving on tipped toes for extra height. "Well, I never went to school." She said proudly. "But with how quick we caught up to you two, why not developments to movement using magic? It was quite fun." "Oh ya! That'd be cool too right Calma?" The elf peeked over the student named Calma, staring at the odd pair. "Eh, I guess. But what do you mean by movement?" "Adam and I got here by using his air spells and my water magic. I pulled us through the streets and my lovely little fellow had us flying through the skies. What do you two practice?" "Earth. Talula is learning space domain." "Alright alright, that sounds perfect. Lets go somewhere where we can use magic without worry. Cmon shorty! Time for a field trip!" Ai grabs Adam's wrist and raises it into the air as she marches to where she thinks the gates of the city are at despite having no clue where it is. The children cheer in eager, Talula pumping his fist into the air. As the half-dragon walks down the path, she leans close to Adam and whispers, "Sorry to drag you in this but hey, could be fun."

as the other three are discussed amongst themselves, Adam was already thinking of some spell combinations that would impress the professor. he has his hand covering his mouth as he muttered some ideas to himself the only audible thing that could be heard from his rambling would be "... Earth and Space, I can work with that...". He is ultimately pulled back to the present when Ai grabs his wrist, he tensed at the sudden contact although allows himself to be dragged along. The only protest from Adam was him retorting "I'm not even that short, and hey, you're shorter than me Ai" when he is called shorty again. The pain from his landing seemed to be dying down as they walked down that path, yet still he's walking a little slower than normal
Surprisingly despite not knowing where the gates were, Ai dragged Adam in the right direction, and the students followed the pair close behind. Adam seemed to sink deep in thought again, but again is pulled back to the present when Ai leaned closer to him. Not being used to people being so close to him he involuntarily blushed a little bit and leaned slightly away from her, but responded matching her volume "I-it's fine, you don't need to apologize. Plus it's my day off anyways and I just planned to spend it in that library before you showed up". He tried to wriggle his wrist free from her grasp but with his less than stellar strength he reluctantly remained, eventually he just gave up and let himself get dragged for the rest of the way.
Once the four ended up further down the street Calma cleared their throat and cocked an eyebrow in curiously before asking "so, how do you two even know each other in the first place?" shifting their gaze between the pair "Yeah how do you know each other? you two seemed to work together pretty well" joined Talula. Adam did a half shrug then answered "we literally met each other just today, not even a couple hours ago. And now here we are." Adam then raised an eyebrow in curiosity as well "now, how do you two know each other?"

"We're just that cool as a team. Anyways, ya how did you two meet? You look like you got history." Calma juts a thumb at Talula. "Oh, I'm actually dating this nerd. Was kind of a forced thing between noble families but we ended up clicking." "Mother believed it best to be in good favor with the Knights of Duros so we met on the first assembly. She didn't like me at first. She believed I was entirely weak being that I wanted to be a full time sorcerer." "We got forced on a few dates before I ran away to the Black Spire. I didn't want to be in a relationship if I had to be forced into it. But when I got there, there was some sort of monster there. What was it again Talula?" "A banshee. I followed after you and saw you try to smack it with a stick." "Oh thats right. He uh, surprised me when he jumped in to save me. I thought all wizards and sorcerers were cowardly, uptight jerks but Talula was different. He showed me that so from then on, I took us dating seriously." "Aww, thats so cute!" The two students blushed a bit, looking away from each other as the group finally reached outside.
Ai led them to an open field with the walls of the city still in sight. "Alright, lets start with what spells the two of you know. Adam and I used my water hip and frozen feet and his gust thrust to speed through traffic and fly through the air." "Create spark, fire bolt as you guys saw, and fire ball." Talula looked excited, glancing at Adam in hope to impress him. "Message, suspend item, force wall, tri-beam, telekinesis, and counter spell." The robed elf stood proudly with the closed eyes and smile of a confident face. "Ok ok, Adam, think you can get something with these?"

"well from what it seems you two make a good couple." Adam said before he goes deep into thought once again. Once the group had made their way outside of the gates he started to pace back and forward with his hand over his mouth as he muttered to himself. Despite his muttering he still listened as the two stated their spells, once he got something he clapped his hands together and made his way towards the rest.
He then stopped in front of the couple inspecting them, and going into teacher mode he started to lecture "Well said Ai and yes I can, and it was quite effective for catching up to you two. That is because all of the spells used had some sort of advantage to movement, Gust Thrust is acceleration, Water Whip is trajectory, and frozen feet helped eliminate friction ... though the small issue with your guy's spell list is that none of them are directly movement based, but we can work around that." He points towards Calma "with you fire based spells you'll mostly be on acceleration duty, probably with fire ball" Calma quickly nodded and then Adam then pointed towards Talula "and you'll be on trajectory duty, I was thinking with either telekinesis or force wall" Talula flashed a thumbs up and both of them waited for Adam to continue his explanation.
"Alright and for how we're going to do this, Talula I need you to start casting fire ball but very slowly just focus on building up as much fire as you can. So if you could please begin the incantations for it just over there." "Alright, I can't promise that I can do it very slowly but I will give it a try" Adam then guided them to a spot where they can start building up the energy needed. He then moved to Talula guiding them to be standing right next to Calma "Right and when you feel like the fire ball is about to fully release and you can't build up anymore fire. Talula will try and hold the extremely dense ball of fire in place with telekinesis making absolutely sure that none of the fire leaks out because you'll lose pressure. Then Talula will wrap that dense ball of fire in a wall of force with a singular hole pointing in the opposite direction from where you want to go, Lastly they'll drop the telekinesis causing the fire to rush out of the hole in the wall of force launching you two towards the target." He then pats both of their arms "this will need precise timing do don't be discouraged if you can't get it first try ... Alright you two begin."
He then phases out of teacher mode as he found a place to sit down to observe and give advice if needed he then shouted out as they begin the experiment "we'll be just over here if you need anything" He then glanced towards Ai with a slightly worried expression "do you think my explanation made sense? or was it too much?"

"I mean considering I never went to school and understood what you were going for, I think you did a pretty good job." Ai gives a light pat on the back. "You probably could be some kind of teacher in the future."
Ai watched as the two elves eagerly attempted to follow Adam's instructions. With difficulty, Calma continuously tried to form a fireball slowly with the first few tries growing into large flames instantly. Talula, in waiting for Calma to be ready, practiced manipulating their force wall into a spherical shape. A good few moments pass before Calma is able to control her flames. Talula holds out one hand as faint, dark blue energy releases from the palm and coat the fireball. With the other hand, he forms the barrier around the flames until it is nearly contained.
"Alright, lets give this a try." Calma starts to clamber her way onto the ball before Ai quickly rushes over and stops her. "Woah woah, hold on there little lady. I get you're excited but let us test this first. That way if it fails, you young ones won't get hurt. Cool?" Calma gives an annoyed groan but nods in understanding. The half dragon takes a seat on the sphere and nods towards Talula. With a worried look, the elf opened their barrier slightly as the orb begins flinging itself into the sky, carrying Ai with it. At first, there's panic in Talula's face. He tightened the opening, slowing this wild mode of transport and putting all of his focus into his telekinesis. Ai was personally having the time of her life, laughing and wooing as she sat cross-legged now on the flying orb. Despite being nearly flung off at the initial force, she was enjoying this. Talula brings her around in circles above the group before settling her back down slowly just the flames ran out.
"That was amazing! Though just being a ball made it hard to stay on. If you two can figure out a way to safely stay on that thing, you might have yourselves an innovated mode of transport. What do you think Adam?"

Hearing Ai's praise of him made the half-elf smile from pointy ear to pointy ear, and out of instinct flinches a tiny bit at the contact. Adam then attempted to wave away the compliment "Oh stop. you're just saying that, I'm not really teacher material". Even with his deflection of it it's quite obvious what she said meant a lot to him, nonetheless he turned his attention back to the students as they prepped the spell he mentioned earlier. The first couple of tries of Calma's fireball not seeming to work Adam walks over to her and taps her shoulder "hey you're doing great so far, but I have some advice. Think about that mana limiter step I mentioned back in the city, have you been noticing something right before you finish casting the spell?" It seemed like Adam had once again slipped in his teaching mode once again as he looked up to Calma anticipating her answer.
she hums to herself as she thinks before a realization hits her "Hmm, Oh! is it that feeling like the hairs on the back on my neck are sticking up?" she asked excitedly. Adam smiled proudly "That's exactly right! now all you have to do is try and stay in that feeling, tow the line between building up the energy and then releasing it. That is how you'll be able to slowly cast any spell. Like this." He then held out both hands away out stretched and clenched his fingers, 1then a slow crackling of electricity traced its way to the space in between his hands. As the blue energy conjoined in the middle it slowly began to enlarge until Adam had a tightly dense ball of lightning in between his hands. He held it there for a couple of seconds before finally exhaling and sending a large bolt of lightning off into the distance. Calma clapped a hand onto Adam's back and laughed "that looked exhausted, even for you shorty. But thanks for the demonstration I've got it now". Adam let out a groan at the mention of his height again but smiled nonetheless as he noticed Tallula practicing his spells "Just keep doing what you're doing Tallula." flashing a thumbs up toward him.
Adam then found his spot he was sitting at earlier as he excitedly watched the two perform the combinations of spells that he had described earlier. He practically jumped from where he was sitting as the two successful made their mode of transportation "Oh my gods! It worked!" then nervously made his way to the ball as he noticed Calma climbing on. "I agree with Ai on this, I'd rather not get fired from the academy by being responsible for you two getting hurt, plus I would feel really bad if that happened. but let me do the test driv-" his sentence getting cut short by Ai rocketing into the air riding the sphere. He anxiously eyed the sphere as Ai got spun through the air, guided by Tallula. The worry of her falling or worse rang through his head until the moment she set foot back onto the ground and seeing that all of his anxious tension melts away. The stress quickly pivoted to proud excitement as Adam's eyes widened and went to high five everyone present even himself. "Holy shit! My idea actually worked! but yes that's true it could be safer. If we could use suspend item or have either of you learn another spell along those lines, you could have something incredibly innovative. I have a feeling this will knock the professors socks off when he is to lay eyes on the spell-crafting masterpiece we have come up with. If it's still the same professor from when I took the class then you might get the highest marks in the class."

Talula and Calma quite literally jumped for joy with cheers of excitement. "Alright, we're gonna head home and get these spells practiced. Thanks again Mr. Adam and Ms. Ai!" "We'll come back with good news! I'll have father repay you in full when we get the highest marks." The two waved goodbye as they hurried off, eager to bring this new idea to their group members.
Ai let out a soft laugh. "And just like that, they're off. Glad we made sure they didn't end up exploding anything though." She nudged the half elf with her elbow. "So Mr. Adam, you used to go to their school? Ah, you know what... You did say you spent most of your life here. I guess that makes sense." 1She held her hand over her bag, drawing out the remnants of water left to play with as she drew circles with it. "I'm pretty hungry after all that chasing and experimenting. Lets head back into the city. Maybe you can show me your favorite restaurant or something." Ai began making her way back into Sol City.
She continued to play with water, having it dance in midair while she walked. Thoughts pang through Ai's mind, curiosity and a heightened interest in the guy she had just met. Though, a lot of questions were asked of him. Maybe... "Hey, if you got anything you wanna know Adam, feel free to ask. I may not know as much but as far as I know, half-dragons apparently rare according to my mom."

"Be safe you two!" As he waved the couple off he couldn't help but feel a warmth within him and his expression matched, it reminded him of his time at the academy. "young love, ain't that nice" He started to get lost in a memory but Ai's nudge brought him back to the present, "Oh. uh yes I did used to go to the same academy that they are currently attending to. It was the arcane academy that I mentioned earlier while we were in the library." Adam watched the spinning water, ever so often glancing back up to Ai again. "ever since I was little I had always had an interest in the arcane arts, more specifically divination magic. Things like fate and probability were things that I always wanted to understand, well in my case I needed to understand it ... but don't worry about that I can explain it later." he brushes it aside as he realized he had almost spilled the truth on his visions to someone he had just met, he didn't want her to think he was crazy like the other members of the Hollyleaf family.
He gave a sigh of relief as she pivoted the conversation to lunch, and like clockwork his stomach growled signaling that he was quite hungry too. He blushed a little bit at the sound but cleared his throat and reset himself "My apologies about that, I guess I'm pretty hungry too. I do know this pretty good coffee shop that's actually pretty close to the library, their pastries are to die for." He then followed in step with Ai back towards the city. He glanced at her water wheel one more time before reaching 1his hand to the side and floating two rocks to himself. Then spinning the two rocks in the same rhythm as the water.
His gaze kept shifting between the road in front of him and the half-dragon next to him, thoughts and questions bouncing around in his head, curiosity and a sense of elevated interest in this girl he had just met. He grinned as she mention asking her questions "Oh my goodness, you have no idea how long I've been wanting to ask you stuff. I just didn't want to be rude and start barraging you with questions out of the blue. But yes, your mother is correct from what I know. Half-dragons are quite a rarity, you're the first one I've ever met and quite the first impression you've made." Adam then sifted through the satchel hanging off of his shoulder and produced a small notepad and pen "You don't mind if I take notes on your answers do you? right first off, in your experience what is it like being a half dragon, I understand the half human part seeing that I also am half human, but the dragon part is what intrigues me. Secondly what is Zienav like? I've only ever read about it while looking through the academy logs and it would be perfect to ask someone that is from there. and thirdly, where did you learn to do magic? like I knew some innate spells but I learned from the academy, but you never went to an academy and so I was curious on where you got so profecent with your spells." He then waited for her answer as they continues to walk, he smiled with genuine interest and curiosity towards her.

Ai giggled at his excitement to prod for questions. Although she may not be able to fulfill that curiosity, she may as well offer the best she could. "Well, being half dragon is honestly not too different from being half-elf or half any other race." She points up to her horns. "Got the horns and tails of a dragon. My wings on the other hand, mother said I was a late bloomer for them. Anyways, those three are the things half-dragons usually retain. Things like breaths and scales are rare cases, but possible. Not sure if I have the internal bits for dragon breath, plus I brush often so I doubt I'll have something to that effect." Ai laughed a little at her own jab at herself.
As they approached the rumored coffee shop, a long line had already formed, reaching out to the sidewalk. "Damn... Ah well, we got time. Anyways, I can't really answer too much about Zienav. I uh, wasn't allowed out much so I only recently got to see it, albeit briefly. The city itself is really pretty. Mostly humans lived there, like my dad, but since its near the sea, we got a lot of travelers looking to sell. The desert itself gets as hot and cold as you'd expect for the environment. I'd take you there some time but uh, well..." She held her arm, a little uncomfortable about the subject. "Being a rarity in a place of trade brings... unwanted attention."
She stayed quiet for bit in the line, clearly put off by the subject. She rubbed her arm and sighed. "Sorry about that, just... don't got a lot of fond memories before I left Zeinav. Lets just move on from that for a bit. About the magic, well-" She snickered a little, the idea of how earned these abilities being comedic. "My dad got very ambitious with a water serpent and well, I got to learn from the best."
The two finally got to their turn, Ai looked up at the various drinks and pastries with confusion. "Uh, y'know what, you think you can pick for me Adam? I'll pay for mine, I just have no idea what any of this is."

Adam flipped to an empty page of his notepad and titled it interview with Ai the half-dragon, his smile still plastered on his face. Right when she started her answers he started writing down every detail that she mentioned and nodded every so often to signal that he was still intently listening, "fascinating. So you're not too different from me, except swap out horns and a tail with pointy ears and keen senses." He flicks one of his elven ears then does a quick sketch of her horns to have a visual competent to his notes. "so have you ever attempted to do a dragon's breath or is it just like a gut feeling. Like for example I feel like I can't trance like my mom, who's a full elf, and thus I haven't tried since I'm only half elvish." He then lets out a small chuckle at her joke, making sure to make a note of that as well. In the small pauses between her answers Adam had started to extend the sketch of her horns into a sketch of her, he would swap his gaze between the page and her face and studied her expression to have an accurate depiction of the subject of his questions ... or so he told himself. Ai speaking back up pulled his attention from his sketch and just in time to stop himself from walking right into someone in line. "how fascinating, the desert is so hostile yet it's truly wonderful how flora and fauna are still have to thrive in such an environment. I've seen sketches of the architecture in the city and it is something else, I would love for you to take me-" His sentence trails off as he notices the uncomfortable tension coming from the half dragon. His smile lessened as he realized he had brought up something he probably shouldn't have. The heavy, awkward silence persisted for a small portion of their time in the line, and he wracked his brain for how he could apologize to her. Though before he can get one out she spoke up "oh no, I should be the one who's sorry. You stowed away from Zeinav, and I should've taken the hint that there was a reason you'd want to leave. And yet I insensitively prodded, I apologize for that. Right let's move onto magic" A slight look of confusion washes over his face and his eyebrows raise in realization as his cheeks darken a tiny bit "Oh .... Oh my goodness I respect your father's ambition I guess, wait does that mean your mother is a water serpent?"
once it was their turn at the counter Adam's eyes traced the glass display containing the different pastries, his eyes locked onto two Danishes "Don't worry I can pay Ai, I'll order a peach danish for myself and how does a strawberry one sound for you, since it matches your hair. Whenever I come here I normally just get some earl grey tea so I'll just get one for you as well" He then ordered and paid for the Danishes and tea, while waiting Adam continued his sketch of her quickly glancing between the page and the half-dragon once again. Once their order was ready he found a small table for them to sit at "if you don't mind me asking but how long are you planning to stay in Sol City? also Ai you know you can ask me questions as well, I'll try to answer any as best as I can."

She was honestly surprised to see him pay for her. With past experiences, most people were stingy with their solars. It was off-putting but not exactly disliked. Ai found herself unknowingly and curiously staring at the half-elf as he ordered the food and drink. "I don't think we had strawberries in Zeinav. Sure! Oh and earl grey is fine."
As they waited for their order, the half-dragon had noticed the repeated looking down, scribbling, and looking back at her out of the corner of her eye. She looked confused for a moment. I haven't answered a question yet. Or is he writing about the pastries? Temptation overtook her as she subtly stood on her toes to peer over at what Adam was doing, only to be even more surprised at the result. Is that me? It was hard to hide her excitement after seeing it. She never had a picture of her before. Wonder if I can buy that off him.
Once the food and drink, she opted to take the tray of food and drink for them as she sat across from him. He paid after all, it was the least she could do. "I'm not really sure how long I'll stay. I'm kind of avoiding someone right now so." Her lapis eyes brightened at the offer to get to know Adam more. "Well firstly, where'd you learn to draw?" She pointed at the notepad. "Second, I'm a little interested at how you found those two school kids so fast. I didn't take you for the instinctual type but I'd have to guess its some kind of magic right?" Even with her lack of experience with the outside world, it was suffice to say that Adam had fully captured Ai's attention to the point of noticing small points such as that. As she waited for answers, the half-dragon took a bite out of the strawberry danish and immediately lit up. Without any input from her, Ai let out an audible "Mm!".

He seemed to deflate a little bit at her answer to how long she was staying. For the couple of hours of knowing her he had thoroughly enjoyed her company and to an extension her as a person. Thus the thought of her not staying long or even worse never seeing her again seemed to eat away at the half-elf. Though a concerned expression appeared on his face as he heard the second half of the statement "You're not in danger are you?". Even if she was what could he do about it, he was just a historian that worked for the academy. He had never fought or protected anyone before but something in him just couldn't sit right with the idea of her being in danger ... wait why? he questioned in his head. Even from his short time of knowing her he knew she could handle herself, why now do I want to make sure she's safe? he continued to wrack his mind for an answer.
He would be able to look into that later as Ai lighting up from the Danish made him forget all of that worry as a warm smile replaced his concerned expression. He out let a small snicker as he noticed a small piece of strawberry hanging on her cheek "One moment Ai, let me get that" He then 1floated a small handkerchief over and gently plucked it right off. Getting lost for a moment he caught himself staring at her; his cheeks flushed slightly as they made eye contact. looking down quickly what is happening to me? why does my chest feel so tight? he internally questioned as he brought his lips to the cup of tea.
more questions that could be looked into later as Ai asked her questions, pointing out the partially finished sketch of herself. Adam attempted to hide it but decided against since she had already seen it at this point, he turned the notepad towards her so she could get a better look. "well I was actually taught by my mom, she's a full blown artist and an amazing one at that. It was something we used to do together before I left for the academy, she always told to draw things I found interesting or pretty" He smiles fondly as he remembered the summer afternoons during his childhood, spending hours drawing alongside his mother, not fully aware that he essentially called Ai pretty. Then for a moment he struggled to find the answer to her second question, debating in his head if he should tell her about the threads. Not yet, he could tip toe around it but the visions themselves could be explained some other time, "Oh um well yes it is a kind of magic thing. If you noticed my eyes glowing a dull gold, it's something that helps me calculate the probability of events quickly. Then I go with the event with the highest chances of happening." He didn't enjoy lying to her but in his mind he had no choice, but he could lay the seeds of him revealing the truth to her "Hey Ai do you believe in fate?"

"Ah... More or less so. It depends if they knew I came here first and who it is coming for me." The dejected look didn't go past her. Of course she didn't want to leave so soon, this was the most fun she's had in years. Hells, this is the first time she's had fun anywhere else. She didn't exactly wanted it to end. "Hey, I'm definitely not staying here for only a day. And whoever comes to find me, well, I'm stronger than I look so I'm at least not leaving without a fight... Though... a weapon might be handy in case its... Ah, I'm sure it'll be fine."
"Oh, ok." Ai pursed her lips, hoping to make it a little easier as the floating handkerchief flew over to pick a small piece. It was a nice gesture from him, a little odd to make that effort for a crumb but nice nonetheless. "If you wanted some, you can just ask." She grinned devilishly at her little jab.
Once again, she placed an elbow down on the table and rested her head on her hand as she listened to the half-elf. Ai wasn't exactly sure why but she really enjoyed hearing him talk. There was always such an excitement whenever he spoke of something that interests him. From back in the library when he spoke of Sol City, to those students when he was teaching them how to use their casts, to now when he spoke of his mother. Maybe it was the way he described things and put large amounts of thoughts into his words. Perhaps it was just the excitement itself for the subjects. Though, the talk of mothers had her thinking of her own. A bit of worry overtook her for a moment. What would she do if she came here? No, no don't think like that. Maybe she dealt with those bandits so now I don't have to worry about them. Then again... she could just also come looking for me with dad...
She was suddenly brought out of her thoughts when Adam mentioned drawing pretty things, scoring a small blush out of her. Was he implying that... No, you're probably being overzealous Ai. He likes to draw. He probably wanted to keep a picture of the first half-dragon he's met. Ya, that sounds right. "Aw, thank you Adam. That's very sweet of you."
That bit of hesitation caught her eye. Hells, was that a touchy subject? When he decided to give an answer, Ai pondered for a moment. She hasn't really seen any sort of golden glow in his eye as of yet, though there wasn't a reason to doubt him. Taking the opportunity to check, she stared at his eyes for a bit. He always looked tired unless he was talking about something he liked. Thats probably a tell. "Sounds like a pretty useful ability. I know I'd be using it all the time just to figure out how to best spend my day."
Then the talk of fate was brought up. Ai was quick with her blunt answer. "No, not really." She paused for a moment, thinking of a good way to explain her reasoning. "I grew up reading a lot of books and stories. In almost all of them, the good guy always wins. That's whats expected right?... Well, dad told me before in his adventuring years... A lot of good people he quested with passed on in those fights against the forces of evil. Sure, a side character will be killed but the way my dad described it... Those losses hit harder than anything ever could for him. Not everything works out the way you believe it to be..." Ai fidgeted in her seat a bit, looking down out of awkwardness and hoping she didn't make Adam uncomfortable. "But under that same branch, whats stopping you from bending things your way." She looked back up at him with a little happier smile. "For me, my life is what I make it. The things that are out of my control, well thats just the choices other people make. Really, just their free will coming in consequence into mine. I don't think living would be the same if everything was already dictated for me. Would kinda take the punch out of my choices, y'know?" Ai stopped for a moment to have a long sip of her tea, allowing what she said to sink in for a minute. "Then again, if fate's what let me meet you, I guess I wouldn't hate it that badly."
"'Scuse me. You Ai Sool?" Ai craned her head to the stranger. It appeared to be a masculine figure, wearing some shabby leather armor and wraps around his head. She furrowed her brow, recognizing the attire as some sand shakes off from the man's hair. "What about it?" The man looked over to Adam, then back to Ai. He hands her a letter, one she begrudgingly takes as he bows and walks off.

Adam quizzically cocked his head in split second of confusion "wait, what's very sweet of me?" he questions before glancing down to his notepad, eyeing his sketch, the gears started turning then a connection was made in his head. The connection in his wind was further supported as a small blush appeared on Ai's cheeks which in turn caused his cheeks to flush further. He stammered for a moment "Oh ... R-right my sketch of you, it started off as a sketch of your horns for a visual component to my notes and then I just kinda kept going that's all ... b-but I'm not saying that you aren't interesting or pretty, you are very much both-" Adam spoke a million miles a second as he attempted to explain himself that he didn't even register the last statement before attempting to reset himself. "Right. let's move on from that, Um where were we? Oh right, my probability thing. I wouldn't really call it an ability since I can't really control it, but even if I could I wouldn't use it all the time since it creates a lot of pressure in my head" That's when he notices her locked on to his tired eyes, she seemed to be looking for something. What she was searching for he couldn't discern but whatever it was it made his heart skip a beat. Though unknown to Adam for that moment tiny flecks of gold appeared among the black of his eyes, making them look like the night sky only for a brief second before fading.
Ai's initial answer seemed to strike him right in his very being causing him to almost flinch. To him fate was his entire being he had described himself as fate-touched for as long as his visions had been affecting him, and her disbelief of it made it feel like she was dismissing him. Though he took a deep breath How could she know, you haven't even told her anything about that, he placed both of his elbows on the table resting his head on the back of his hands. He listened to her more closely than he ever had prior, he hung on her every word and absorbed all he could. At the mention of her father's losses he couldn't help but think on his own, and his brother's face lingered in his mind for longer than he wanted. Then A warm smile and a small blush appeared on his face as she finishes her statements "I do know what you mean but I will say that I believe in fate, a lot actually. Though the way I see it, it's like a vehicle or a river you float down. Fate will guide you to where you need to be, then what you do at the fated place you is entirely up to you. I don't want to assume too much but did you feel a certain pull taking you to the library we met at, that was fate pulling towards it. Then at the library you could've made any number of decision, but you set your eyes on me. That's how I think fate connects and binds those together by taking people to the same fated place for a fated meeting. I dare even say that we were fated to meet" talking about his thoughts on fate seemed take a small amount of weight off of his shoulders, he hadn't talked to anyone about this before.
before he could keep going on about fate a stranger approached their table, Adam's face tensed as this guy was obviously from Zienav. He glanced over to see Ai's brow furrow, she definitely knew who this guy was or at least recognized his attire. After she accepted the letter he craned his neck to get a better look at the envelope, he looked back up to her with concern written all over his face "Is everything alright? who was that?" he felt the urge to comfort her, he started to move his hand towards hers but ultimately placed it back onto the table.

All that excitement and joy she had disappeared. There was a nervous gulp, her hands shaking as she held the envelope. It was out of place for her, especially with all the bravado and confidence she showed Adam all day. Slowly, she cut the envelope ruggedly with her nails. Within it, a letter. All noise ceased for her, the bustling of the cafe, any words the half-elf spoke, it was all white noise now as she began to read the parchment.Dear Ms. Sool,You have been missing for a while my dear. And I'm sure you are scared. I know those people you encountered tried to hurt you. Your mother and I have paid them off. They won't harm you but... You need to come home. You saw first hand my dear, how scary the world out there is. If we didn't get to them first, they would've taken you. They would've taken you to auction. And these men aren't the only ones who would try. Please. Go with them and you'll be back home safe.Your loving father, Avlen SoolHer grip on the letter tightened, crumpling it a little. Her eyes watered a little, before she willed it away. Ai kept her gaze down, avoiding eye contact completely. "H-hey, Adam... I uh, I might need to take back what I said... I'm sorry... I... I need to leave..." She sat up and started to walk towards the door.
