as Adam strode through a busy street he seemed to find himself amongst a large moving crowd. Only standing at a little bit above 5'5 all he could see are people's arms and shoulders as many bumped into him as they passed by. despite living in the city for around 25 years he still could never get used to the bustle from the sea of people. nonetheless Adam tried his best to move with the crowd, as he had a destination in mind and was determined to get there. He tried his best to look through the gaps of people, craning his neck to get the best possible angle to look for a specific sign. Then after what felt like ages to him he felt a wash of relief as he spotted a wooden sign with the logo of a book carved into it.
He started to push his way thought the crowd, but to no avail, he was being swept away like a boat caught in a current. In a moment of slight panic Adam puts his hand to the side of himself and casting gust thrust he boosts himself out of the crowd. The gust of air blowing some people's hats off as Adam rockets out of the crowd, he tried to stick the landing but ends up face planting and skidding to a stop in front of the door. He hastily picked himself up and then brushed off the dust from his "graceful" landing. He took a breath to reset himself as he walked through the threshold of the door, a small bell chimes as the door closes behind Adam. The smell of books calmed him from the overwhelming feeling he felt while in the crowd, and a book-keeper chimes in as he spots Adam. "Adam, I swear you spent more of time here than at home." Adam just chuckles as he timidly replies "well this place feels like a second home to me, plus it gives me some place to be other than home and the academy" he walks past the counter and into the long shelves containing multitudes of books.
He spends some time slowly walking through the aisles of shelves, picking up any books he could about fate and destiny. Feeling satisficed with his haul he finds a table to sit down as he opens the first book and begins to skim it hoping to find what he is looking for. For a brief second while taking his eyes from the words on the page he gets a flash of being able to see the threads of fate the most notable one leading right past him and another one branching off from the book-keeper. Not wanting to get any more visions he decides to just observes the threads and when he blinks again they disappear and he puts his head back down to the pages in front of him, feeling somewhat thankful that the vision didn't happen while he was in the crowd earlier.

Sol city, the big city of golden sun architecture and home to the sun elves. A popular place of rich history with a culmination of several individuals housed within. A very, very big step up for Ai. Everywhere she went, she could feel the eyes of onlookers at her rare figure. Granted, the looks were not unexpected. Half-dragons were a rare race to see indeed. Even still, she was incredibly uncomfortable, though a pang of excitement rushed within her. "Gods, why is this so scary?" Ai said to herself. "This is nothing like the stories mom told." She looked around, looking for anywhere she could duck into to escape the eyes. While it was exciting to finally be free from that shack back at Zeinav, being stuck indoors for years to being in one of the more popular cities has got be the wildest difference. Ai's gaze honed in on a door across the street. She wasn't sure why that building in particular was calling out, almost as if she was being pulled in a way. Now the real issue, getting past the traffic. She looked from left to right, taking note of what other people were doing to get across as well as looking for some sort of opening. Lo and behold, a line of space between the passing wagons. With a sharp inhale, she dashed into the streets. Sidestepping and weaving through the crowd of people and horses, she reels herself backwards as a speeding cart passes by. "Oi! Watch where you're going!" The driver yells out. With heavy pants and an annoyed sigh, she runs through the rest of the way, opening the door.
Ai was surprised to see the interior of the building. She had never seen so many books before, not to mention they were all different. She stood at the door in frozen awe.

Adam closes the cover on the first book he found, he heaves a frustrated sigh as it didn't reveal anything to him that he already didn't know about fate and it spoke nothing of the threads. He pushes the book to the other side of the table and opens the next book in his stack, he puts his head in his hands as his eyes dart around absorbing as much of the words as he can. Until he realizes in the first couple pages it speaks nothing of fate, he closes the book and inspects the cover with a puzzled look. The Threads Come Together, written in golden letters on the front cover and a golden sewing needle below it, it was a sewing book. "Gods, why would they name a book about sewing so ominously?" he says under his breath as he pushes it next to the first book.
He sighs as he leans back in his chair and slumps a little defeated, until the sound of a bell pulls him out of his stooper. knowing not too many people come into this library he cranes his neck to see who has made their way here, but he couldn't quite see the front from where he was sitting. The curiosity gets the better of him as he shrugs and he decides to check it out. he stands up and starts to make his way down the aisle of books, he curiously peeks around the corner at the end of the shelf. only really exposing the top half of his face to the front, he sees something he hasn't really seen before; a half dragon frozen in the door. he stares curiously until he blinks and the threads of fate reveal themselves once again "really? why within the span of a couple minutes?" he mutters in confusion as he sees the thread branching off from the book-keeper but he notices the half-dragon's thread is all tangled almost looking like a ball, and his eyes narrow in confusion
"How curious, I haven't seen that in a while" he mutters again. He blinks a couple times as his eyes shift from gold to their normal black color and the threads disappear. yet he continues to observe the scene that is playing out in the front of the library.

Stood in Adam's view, a lady in a dark red slit dress, her black-scaled dragonic tail wagging back and forth over the excitement of all the books. Her smile was wide along with her glee as she turned to see the man staring at her. Behind her round glasses stared back lapis blue eyes, curious of the fellow seemingly hiding behind a shelf. "Is there something in my hair?" Ai quickly felt around her red hair that was tied back in a bun, followed by checking her black horns shaped similarly to a goat's or ram's. "Oh don't mind him. Feel free to browse." A voice rang from the counter. Ai nodded and waved the man named Adam goodbye before she explored the halls of literature. Getting lost among the pages, she skimmed through the many titles the librarian kept. A few caught her eye: A book on the different domain's of magic, religious scriptures that told of the five gods, even stories that regaled the experiences of past adventurers. She let out a muted squeal. There was so many more stories than the ones she would end up rereading back home. Though, one particular book stood out as the one she needed the most. Pulling the book out, she moved over to where she saw the man peering at her. Standing ever closer now, she held out the title of the book to Adam. It read "The Complete Guide to Charon". "Hey, can you help me clear some things about this? I wanna know if what this book says is all true." Right now, Ai needed information about the world she barely knew. What better way to learn than to probe a local?

Adam jolted when her eyes met his as he realized how creepy he must look just watching her in the entrance but against his better judgement continued to observe. His eyes glanced to the voice from the counter then return to Ai's as she nodded and waved, he returned a small wave to her as he retreated further in the aisle. He face palmed as he chuckled to himself "This is why people are sometimes weirded out by you Adam, I gotta learn to stop staring at people" he muttered under his breath.
He started to return to where he was reading earlier but noticed a book on his way and is distracted by it. the spine read "The Thread-weavers guide". He reached up to pull the book down from the shelf, hastily opened it hoping to get even the smallest piece of an answer. As he continued flipping through the pages, his face dropped as he fell for it again; he had picked up another sewing book. He closed both of covers in a frustrated slam and let out a sigh matching the frustration of the slam "Really? again?". He put the book back up onto the shelf and continued to walk back to his table, looking deep in thought not really paying a whole of attention to his surroundings, Until he bumped into something stopping him in his tracks. He snapped out of his concentration as he noticed he had walked into a book being held out to him, confused on what had happened he looked up to see the half dragon he had been staring at earlier. Getting a better look at the man she see a short tan half-elf with light blue almost white fluffy hair wearing dark blue and gold short robes. He jolts back in surprise and tenses up, "Oh gods! I am incredibly sorry about not watching where I was going, and my behavior at the entrance earlier, just something about you is very interesting". His eyes glanced back down to the book she was holding out and hearing her question he nodded and gave an awkward smile up towards her. "Um, y-yes I should be able to help you with that, to the best of my ability that is"
his expression shifted to one of thought for a second before an idea forms "wait, you could actually help me with something, but of course when we're done with your problem" hoping to be able to see why her thread was all tangled up, but at the moment focusing on what she had asked him first.

Ai laughed a little, mostly at Adam's surprise. "Oh don't worry about that. I'm sure you meant no harm." She stuck a hand out for a handshake. "Name's Ai Sool. I'm not sure if I'll be able to help but I got plenty of time." Ai moved past Adam, giving a little reassuring pat on his head before taking a seat. It was much easier to be her confident self when hundreds of eyes weren't on her.
Sat down, she quickly flips through the pages until she reached a map of Charon. Ai points to an area around where Zeinav City is. "Ok so, I'm from this little desert place and I hopped a boat to somewhere. I kinda pulled a stowaway stunt to here." She traces a line with her finger from Zeinav to Sol City. "The boat traveled for about a day till I arrived to what I think is here. I only recently learned that this place was named Sol City so I guess thats where I ended up... Um, what do you know about this place? And like.. every where else? All I know about here is that there's a lot of golden buildings and elves. Kinda new to pretty much everything." Ai looked to the half elf, almost studying him whilst she waited for an answer. Her eyes trained themselves on his hair. A look of confusion overtook her face. He doesn't look that old. And to go white so soon? Oh! Dad did say stress makes that appear early. Geez, I wonder what this guy does for a living. she thought to herself.

The tension in Adam eased as the half dragon let out a small laugh, "Still I apologize for that It's just a bad habit of mine" he said while scratching the back of his neck until he accepted the handshake and nodded "I'm Adam Hollyleaf, it's a pleasure to meet you, and don't worry too much about helping me. Maybe just talking to you will provide answers" he flinched a little bit when he felt the pat on his head but let out a small smile, and she would've felt that his hair is surprisingly soft. He then joined her at the table moving over the stack of books he had collected earlier to make room.
he watched as she flipped through the pages and listened to her story, he seemed to be impressed by the stowaway stunt she mentions. his eyes followed the line she traced ultimately stopping on Sol City, his eye glanced back up to her "wow, you traveled quite a distance, not even I have been to Zeinav. I'd ask you what it was like but you had asked a question first." now that Ai is even closer to Adam she can very clearly see his heavy eye bags and the freckles that litter his face. He placed his hand on his chin and thought for a second, he glanced back over to her and noticed her studying him mostly focused on his hair. He quickly messed with his hair to try and fix it before responding "Well, yes you have arrived in the capital of Charon, Sol City, I've been here for all my 25 years of living. The city came together during the age of renewal and was one of the larger city thus they made it the capital. Since it is one of the oldest and largest cities, it's populous has just about anyone and the culture of the city is one big melting pot of different cultures into one." he quickly flipped through the pages of the book before finding a detailed map of Sol City "Some of the most notable spots in the city itself is the Temple of the Sun: one of the oldest temples in the whole world. There's the Gold Port: that's probably where you entered into the city from and where all the imports and exports come and go. Here's the Sun Keep: the castle of the royal family and is absolutely gorgeous, I can point it out outside when we're done. Lastly the Black Spire, Don't go there it's haunted" He said pointing to each spot on the map then looking back up to Ai to gauge her reaction. He seemed to study her as well with each glance, mostly interested in her ram-like horns "there's also the arcane and martial academies but those are off island" He flipped back to the map of Charon as he pointed out on which island each are located

Ai placed an elbow on the table, letting her head rest in her hand while listening closely to Adam. The places he spoke of within Sol City had her excitement through the roof, especially the mentions of a haunted area. That definitely sounded like an adventure. "Aw, that spire sounds fun. Though, I'm a little disappointed you only know of Sol City, at least not as much as the other places." She stared at Zeinav City on the map with a somber look. In her heart, she knew she made the right choice but there was still a part of her that missed home. I wonder what mom and dad are doing... Her mood changed as she looked back at Adam. Best she just move forward rather than reminisce. "Oh, sorry. I know it can't be helped. Do you actually think you can be my tour guide for this place? I have a few solars so you won't be doing it for free."
As the two sat there in discussion, the ring of a bell sounds as a group of young scholars walk into the library. "Is this the place? You sure right?" "Gods, yes. This place has the textbooks we need. Just hold up and we can get this experiment under way." Stood at the front of the group of sun elves, a pale one with dark blue robes you would find on a wizard and another with tanned skin alongside a high class silk gown. "It was your idea to create the biggest explosion spell for our finals. You better put in the work." "Oh please, you know for a fact I singlehandedly got us a high grade with our last test." Ai, practically already forgetting about whatever it was she was doing, got up and was peering behind a bookshelf with full intention to eavesdrop. She looked to her white haired fellow and mouthed This sounds interesting.

Adam Smiled as it felt refreshing to have someone actually listen to him as closely as she is. he perked up as he forgot a spot in Sol City "Oh, I almost forgot about the Brass Dragon, It's an Inn and Tavern, and if you plan on staying here for multiple days I'd say that's your best bet for shelter. Plus the food isn't too bad." He said before seeming to notice her staring at her home on the map he then looked at her apologetically "No I should be the one who's sorry, my knowledge of the areas outside of Capital Landing is only from readings and stories I heard at the academy, so It's quite limited."
He then nodded at her request for a tour guide "It would be an honor to show you around, and don't worry about paying me, you should keep those to help yourself get set up if you decide to stay here." He waved his hand in a 'that's fine' gesture before a curious look overtakes his expression "If you don't mind me asking, what was Zeinav like? and also why did you end up leavi-" His question getting cut short by the sound of the bell chime followed by voices, he watched in a confusion as the half dragon stood up to peer around the shelf.
He reluctantly stood up to go follow her, once he's within earshot of her he whispered worriedly "Ai, I know I'm one to talk but don't you think that eavesdropping is a little rude?" despite his words he peaked around the shelf as well eyeing the group and he recognized the outfits of the sun elves. His eyes widened in surprise "Oh those are students from the arcane academy, I wonder why they're here instead of the school library? and largest explosion spell? that sounds dangerous" he whispered again as he started to listen in on them.
"Alright then, lead the way so we can get this done as quickly as possible" "Fine I think I remember where it was, just give me a bit" The two bickered as they disappeared behind one of the many shelves, venturing further into the library. Adam then looked back to Ai with a worried expression "should we follow them? possibly even try to stop them?"

"Hey, I never had a magic school back home. I'm just interested." She quietly responded. "Ah- ya no we should probably make sure they don't blow up the library."
Ai began to quietly trail behind the students, keeping a good distance away. Sneaking around wasn't necessarily her thing but hell be damned if she wasn't going to try. She kept low, stopping at the edge of a bookshelf and listened in. "Ok so, based on this book, there's a couple things we can do. We can throw several fire balls, overcharge one with mana, or do a mix between that and meteor summoning." The fancy one was holding a book. Staring hard at it, Ai was able to read the title: "Earth Domain: Shape the World" "We can test it out on the field. Lets go borrow that book then." The two moved over to the counter. Ai looked towards Adam with a concerned look. "So thats bad right?" "Excuse me, what are you two doing?" A voice called out from behind them. Ai looked around to see one of the other students standing there with a confused look. "Are... you stalking us?" "What?! No! We're uhhh, interested in that book those elves were looking at. The amount about earth magic. Right Adam?" She nudges him with an elbow.

Adam followed close behind Ai, stealth is clearly not his strong suit either but with his short frame he's able to stay out of sight a little bit easier. He peaked around the shelf as well and after listening for a couple seconds he responded to Ai "I specialized in Sky and Space magic but even I know that's not a safe idea, so yes that's bad. We need to get that book away from them somehow" he then watched the two walk towards the counter, concern painting his expression. He then started to emerge from from the corner of the shelf as the two make their way towards the exit. Adam started to panic a little bit "Shit! we can't let them get too fa-" as a voice cut him off and he stiffened.
Adam froze as the two were being accused, hoping that the student didn't recognize his robes as ones worn by someone who would work for the academy, even though his are still ones of a trainee. He is brought back to the present as he felt Ai's nudge "You're absolutely right, Ai my friend. We both Uhhh, just love the Earth domain of magic soooooo much. We just love the um ... rockiness, and uh ... heat that comes with the spells in the domain ... W-which both of us definitely know how to cast" Adam gave an awkward smile then leaned against one of the shelves as he overplayed his part. "Oh yeah? then why don't you show us some of those spells?" The student's suspicion of the two grew as they stepped closer. Adam's internal panic grew as he attempted to look for a way out of this, until he heard the bell ring indicating that the two students with the book had left the library. Having taken notice of that his internal panic became external panic as his eyes darted around and he gets an idea. He then took a step backwards to clear a straight shot towards the exit "ummmm, how about a rain check on that ... Hold on Ai." He then grabbed Ai's wrist holding out his hand to cast gust thrust rocketing the two towards the exit. He had overestimated how far they would have gone, and they only make it to the front area near the counter. However still not used to landing he face planted onto the floor letting go of Ai's wrist, with the momentum he slid just short of the door.

Most people would panic should a person suddenly pull them along at high speeds. Ai, however, was laughing hard in excited thrill. Despite her enjoyment, Ai was not at all prepared for such a decision and was immediately heading towards the door. Before she could slam into it, some quick thinking brought about a terribly brilliant idea.
1She clapped her hands together and as she brought them apart, a large ball of water formed in between. It spread out onto her hands as she flicked one hand to the door, the other to Adam. The water flung outwards in response, stretching from her palms to the directions she aimed at. The first grabbed onto the door handle. Ai pulled her hand back as if the water was an extension of her, in fact pulling the door open wide as the water retracted back to her palm. The second wrapped around Adam's waist and tugged on him towards Ai and the door as she zoomed to it. She yanked Adam over and placed one of his arms around her neck to hold on to. Surprisingly, she didn't appear to have trouble carrying the guy as she preformed another spectacle of magic. 2The bottoms of her desert sandals began to freeze over and as she finally landed, she began to slide out the door with all the momentum of Adam's gust thrust. "Your turn to hold on now!" she shouted behind her, a big grin on her face.
Now back outside, Ai spotted the two elves who were making their way down the road. They somehow made good distance already, both in a jog towards the city gates. Only problem was... the two were sliding out into the road. Ai let out a short scream as she flicked out the water on her hands once more, grabbing onto a wagon heading in the elves' direction. She pulled as hard as she could, the tug sending the two hurdling towards said wagon. She reached out to another wagon, the water flying out and once again pulling them in another direction. She repeated the process, getting in a nice rhythm as they skated down the road to keep in pace with the students. The shouts of ongoers and wagon riders can be heard as they moved through, many a viewer being visually confused to the two's shenanigans. The longer they went on, however, the momentum from before was slowly dwindling. "Think you can boost us forward? We're starting to lose them."

Adam was confused as something wet wrapped around his waist and to add to his confusion he got yanked from where he was laying. Still being dazed from hitting the floor, he hadn't fully realized what's going on until he felt the hot outside air blow against his face as they zoomed out of the exit. "You don't have to tell me twice!" he shouted back as he held onto her for dear life. He eventually opened his eyes "You didn't tell me you could do magic too!" he shouted excitedly but Adam's intrigue at Ai's magic quickly melted into a panic as they both slid down the street. Each time Ai would make a sharp turn or made a close call with a wagon, Adam let out a panicked yelp, nonetheless this is the most thrilling thing that Adam had ever done. Adam finally got his head in the game when they got into comfortable rhythm, still shouting "sorry!" to each passerby they slide past.
"give me a second I need to line it up" he answered to her request for a boost. He then clocked both of the students over her shoulder, she could hear him muttering to himself as he did some mental calculations as he held out his free arm out front of them to gauge the distance. He then noticed he was taking too long and they were losing momentum fast "Ah Screw it, I'm eyeballing it". He then positioned himself to be on her mid back "sorry pardon me Ai." he then wrapped his arms around her waist. 1He then held out his right leg behind them aiming it down towards the ground, he took a deep inhale as wind started to spiral down it. A second later a large blast of wind sent the two rocketing into the air high above the street. As they get to the peak of the arch he tries to clock the Elves again he spots them and his eyes glow gold as the threads of fate appear once again, he saw their threads branching from them and where they were headed. He took notices of Ai's and it seemed less tangled than before, but he shook his head as he said "Ai I know where they'll be in a couple seconds, I'll try to get ahead of them.".
He blinked as his eyes shifted back to their black color, as he pushed himself off of Ai 1and held his leg behind himself again as he does another blast of wind sending him rocketing so that he would be ahead of them when he landed. as he soars over them he shouted "Put down the book!". Getting somewhat used to landing he attempted at a three point landing and then slid to a stop in front of them. However his legs hurt like hell since he didn't brace himself for the landing. He then looked behind them hoping that Ai would be there to be able to back him up.

Ai put her arms up in preparation for whatever Adam planned to do before the two were propelled into the air. As they practically flew, she let out loud cheers and a "Whoooo!". This was also the most exciting thing the half-dragon has done so far.
1As Adam spotted the targets and went in for a landing, she sent out a water whip to collide with the ground. She twisted her hands as the air began to cool even despite the hot summer day. 2The water Ai had sent out suddenly froze over, now becoming some sort of ramp down to help soften the fall. She ripped her hands out of the water before it could freeze her hands as she slid down it, pressing her foot down in an attempt to slow herself and Adam. By the time she reached the bottom, the grip Adam held was lost has she slid a little farther than he stopped. She wobbled a bit as she tried to keep her balance and stop her momentum.
She finally came to a halt and returned to where Adam and the students were. The look on their faces were reasonably bewildered by the literal drop in. "W-who are you two?! What do you want with the book?!" The blue-robed elf hid behind his tanned friend. The friend opened her palms, summoning bolts of fire defensively, not trusting the sudden strangers. "Hey woah, relax kiddos. We don't mean any harm." Ai raised her hands in surrender. "Well what do you want then? We haven't done anything wrong." "Look, I overheard what you guys planned to do. Something like 'biggest explosion' doesn't exactly sound safe." Ai looked to her new found friend, not really knowing what they should do. It was obvious these kids shouldn't try a spell like what was heard, at least not without supervision.

"we truly mean you two no harm" Adam also put his hands up to show that he isn't a threat either. he started to walk towards them but stopped dead in his tracks when saw the flames. "listen, you two haven't done anything wrong. We're just concerned that you two were planning to do something that could possibly get you in trouble, or even worse hurt. so please just hand over the book" Adam then paused hoping that both of their words would diffuse the situation. The elves look at each other and whisper between themselves, before the tanned one groaned and closed her palms to extinguish the flames. "Fine, but if you can't help us come up with anything better as a spell final we'll just take back" the tension in her isn't fully gone but she steps forward passing the book to Adam.
His gaze then shifted to the book finally getting a good look at it and his eyes narrowed in recognition, then they widen as he's hit with a realization "OH! No wonder you weren't looking in the school library for this, it's banned there for the exact thing you two were looking for" he said as he inspected the spine to confirm if it was the right volume and edition. He started to flip through the pages, then eventually he landed on the page that had the instructions for "Charon's Largest Combustion" he quickly read through them and caught something. He then held out the opened pages to the students "Ah here it is. look here is the fabled 'biggest explosion spell' that's had rumors about it floating around the academy since way before I was even a student there. Although it looks like the instructions aren't right, most spells of this caliber have some kind of mana limiter as to not hurt the caster. The Author of this textbook forgot to add or purposely removed the limiter step so it will continue to drain your mana until your left with no more energy and a huge explosion to deal with. I feel like I don't exactly have to explain why that's dangerous to you two." The students then nodded in understanding at Adam's explanation seeming to have a little bit of dread thinking of the hypnotical outcome if they had tried.
He then quickly closed the book and put it under his arm "I had a classmate in geological calculus that had tried it for a final like you two and luckily it drained most of their energy before it could go off. I'm assuming that your final is for that class?" "Yeah but now we don't have a final plan thanks to you, shorty" the tanned elf said looking accusatory towards Adam, "He was only trying to help, don't be rude" the elf with the blue dress smacked her friends arm. "I can still help if you want me to, seeing that I did already graduate from the academy not too long go" he said a little annoyed at the insult thrown at him but staying somewhat polite. "You wanna help brainstorm too Ai?" he asked looking over his shoulder towards her
