Adam Hollyleaf
Gender: Male He/Him
Age: 25
Race: Half Sylvan elf
Nationality: Sol City
Voice Claim: Elijah Wood as Wirt
Appearance: Adam Hollyleaf is a short, skinny, half-elven man with tan skin and freckles. He has light blue, almost white hair, and fluffy hair. He could almost pass as a human, aside from his pointed ears that stick out horizontally from his head. He has dark bags under his eyes from many late nights of research, deciphering visions, or studying, and thus, he has a perpetual look of tiredness. He wears dark blue robes with ornate yellow inlays and a built-in hood; his spellbook matches this dark blue and yellow color scheme, but its most notable feature would be an ornate golden eye on the cover.
Personality: Adam is normally a pretty quiet and soft spoken person when you first meet him. but he starts to become more bubbly and friendly once you get to really know him. Definitely nerd to his core and loves to learn more of any topic but mostly magic and history are his favorites
History: Adam Hollyleaf’s story starts in the city of Sol City in a modest little house where he lived with his 2 older brothers, Cerrin and Omin, and his mother, Amanda Hollyleaf. Adam never really knew who his father was since he left right after birth. Adam lived like any normal kid for the first significant portion of his life until around the age of 10, when he started to get these hallucinations or visions that seemed to make no sense. The most common type was for a split second; He could see various golden strings connecting everything together, seeming to lead whatever was attached to their destination. He kept these visions to himself, not wanting to freak anyone out, only observing as they became more common and lasting longer. He dubbed these strings the fate threads and, for a while, tested to see if anyone else could feel or sense them, but to no avail. Adam seemed to be the only one close to him who could see the fate threads. He continued to keep these to himself until one day at the age of 17, during one flash of being able to see them, he was close enough to one to reach out and attempt to touch it; as his fingers made contact, the thread snapped, and he got a vision of the string’s destination where the object was going to go next. In a rush of confusion and discovery, he rushed to his mother to tell her what had happened. Adam busted through the door of their house in a hurry. He rushed to find his mother, finding the house to be empty, which wasn’t entirely out of the ordinary since Amanda worked a lot and his brothers were typically out with the nearby kids their age, so he waited and waited and waited. The hours ticked by, but no one from the Hollyleaf family was still to be found anywhere near the house. Adam started to get a little nervous until the fate threads were revealed to him, and he had one lining directly into his chest. Adam, now confused and scared, pulls at the thread, snapping it, and sees a vision of a crossbow bolt lodging itself into his chest. The vision concludes, and like clockwork, a bolt comes flying from the darkness but misses Adam by a hair, leaving him frozen and then hearing.
“The hells is wrong with you?, Shooting at a kid!?”
“Sorry, boss, he just wasn’t moving, and I thought that would give him a little incentive,” replied a second voice from the dark, followed by the sound of the first voice smacking the other in the back of the head. The two voices stopped out from the shadows revealing themselves as well-dressed humans with hands covered in blood; seeing the blood, Adam’s heart sank thinking of the worst. The taller of the two humans put his hand on Adam’s shoulder.
“Look, kid. This is entirely just some personal business involving your father. Hope there are no hard feelings. Your Mother is fine, but your brother is not so much” he pats his shoulder.
“Your father, ‘An Oracle,’ thought he could trick us with visions of riches and power. Now that con has come back to bite him in the ass,” chimes in the second voice as they both walk out of the house and into the city, leaving Adam alone. After returning to his sense, he decided to combat his sense of dread by checking his brother’s room and finding Omin and Amanda holding the lifeless body of Cerrin. They both look up to him.
“Where were you?” was the only thing that could leave Amanda's mouth. This event sent Adam into a downward spiral which led to his visions getting worse and worse, now seeing worse fates without even having touched the threads. Adam, at the age of 18, finally had enough of not knowing what to do. He wanted to seek knowledge of what these threads were and how he could possibly use them to prevent events like that for himself and other people. So he enrolled himself in Arcane Academy to further his pursuit of knowledge, power, and answers. He spent the next 5 years studying there and seemed to excel in divination-related aspects of magic, thus allowing himself to specialize in it. During those 5 years, he has been able to focus his magical abilities to lessen the volatility of his hallucinations and, on some occasions, make himself be able to see the thread on command. After graduating from the Arcane Acedmy, he found himself wanting to work for the Historical Society at the school in the hopes of being able to call himself a Sage one day or even rise to the ranks of being able to become an Archmage. Adam is already one year of becoming a sage and thus has given himself the title of Sage in Training
