A few things were going through Nephele’s mind as C’Leena maneuvered the fire in the fireplace: pure confusion was number one; as soon as it began to rise and spark, her hand flew behind her to grab onto C’Leena’s leg behind her. It wasn’t out of fear, in fact it took her a moment to register that C’Leena was controlling the colors. Her eyes were alight with wonder at the colors, listening to C’Leena but keeping her eyes trained on the fire like she’d fight it if anything looked amiss. It was lucky that C’Leena couldn’t feel the nails digging into her leg.
Nephele couldn’t pretend she wasn’t amazed though. Bright colors and shiny things were her kryptonite, as has been observed before. She gasped softly as they transitioned into different colors, eyes fluttering at the sparks and squeezing even tighter onto C’Leena. Her ears had lifted, like a cat’s would when on alert as she watched. The black flame was utterly fascinating, until blooming into a thousands of stars. It’s… beautiful.
As soon as C’Leena speaks again, her speech stuttered and hesitant, Nephele turns her head around. Her eyes are wide, almost completely mirroring the fire’s display. She wasn’t upset anymore, but she looked every single drop of the word ‘worried’. The leg she held onto she ran her thumb along, soothing the ghost of the nail marks that definitely would have been carved into C’Leena’s skin. And yet underneath all of that unmistakable concern, there was an enamored pride behind each and every expression.
“That was a lot. Are you alright?” Nephele asked, her tone struggling to find a common ground between so happy she could explode and worried to death. It didn’t work, evidently, as she struggled to turn back around. “It was very pretty but…you didn’t have to do that, you know?” She wasn’t upset, truly she wasn’t. But Nephele was 98% sure that she had went into full protection mode for C’Leena in those few beautiful moments.
She didn’t know what her answer would be, but decided that if it was something serious, C’Leena probably wouldn’t want to be stared at. So Nephele forced herself to look ahead, listening to C’Leena speak about the universe and how she saw it in the grand scheme of things as she did her hair. It wasn’t far from her own thoughts, in fact she was quite certain that she was living proof that at the very least different realms existed.
Nephele listened quietly for a moment, thinking about what C’Leena said. And then she took a deep breath, and finally whispered the one question that had been on her mind all evening:
“Do you…want to go back to your universe?” It was a quiet, simple question, though not simple in the slightest. Her voice is small when she asks, as if not expecting the answer to be even a little positive. She had no doubts in C’Leena’s love and affection, and she could hear the sincerity in everything she said and did for her. The same could be said for her, after all. But if C’Leena missed home, would she tell her?
Nephele’s stomach dropped as soon as she stopped her mind racing. Her face fell as she realized what she did, laughing humorlessly to herself. Way to ruin it. “I-I’m sorry, forget I said anything. It’s just my mind playing games with me.”

C'Leena appreciated the concern to no end. Frankly, it was good for her in the end hopefully. Little ways to try to get over her fears. When Nephele said that C'Leena didn't have to do what she did, she leaned forward and kissed her cheek. "Maybe. I wanted to, though. I'll be alright, just need a second to decompress." She takes a number of deep breaths before believing herself to be adequately calm and returns to her braiding.
She wants to get over this fear of hers. She used to think fire was absolutely gorgeous, and a small part of her still does. But the moment she looks at a fire, all she can think of is the accident and the burns that cover her skin. So she wants to look for little ways to start getting through the fear, like using that spell to show off or something of the sort. It'll take a number of years, without a doubt. But it'll happen.
Then Nephele asked if she wanted to return, and C'Leena paused and thought about it. Did she want to go back? She hasn't considered it home in a good bit but.. She thinks about it for a moment before responding. "I do. Not to stay, though." She finally answers. "If I find a way back, I'm going there only to visit Rose. Truthfully, I don't know if I could return even if I wanted to. The simple fact that I disappeared means that I'd be endlessly questioned by law enforcement if I return, all my money would be locked away from me and it's likely my home would be sold to somebody else."
"If I go back, I have nothing. Not a job, not a home, not anything. Here, though? I don't need any of that. I have you, we have some money behind us and it doesn't cost us anything to simply pick a direction and walk." Nepheles request to ignore her was heard, and promptly ignored as she continued to speak. "I miss it, truly I do, but do you miss the Land of Wonder?" She asks finally.
"And no, I won't forget you said anything, petal. You asked me a question; I'm going to answer it truthfully. I understand the concern of me just.. leaving one day. That won't happen, I promise." She says as she finishes the three smaller braids, tying them off with small pieces of twine. She then moves in front of Nephele and cups her face. "I love you. I love you more than anything in the damn world, Nephele. Not only would I be beyond angry with myself if I just up and left, I think Rose would have quite a few things to say if I were to do that. God, she'd never forgive me." She chuckles a bit to herself. Rose would be hella jealous of this relationship.
"I'm sticking by your side. Forever and always, yeah?" She lightly kisses Nephele, remaining in front of her for a few more moments before moving back behind Nephele and continuing the braid, weaving the three strands into a larger braid. It's actually coming out quite nice. Nothing spectacular, but it's actually better than what she usually did for Rose, she reckons.

Nephele is quiet. She looks like she doesn’t quite believe it at first, a lot of self-doubt marring her face. The problem that Nephele was having was that she didn’t quite understand homesickness, but she has seen how it affects people. Callythia died of a broken heart and homesickness, and while she was sure that C’Leena wouldn’t drop everything and leave at the drop of a hat, Nephele wouldn’t let C’Leena stay behind if it meant it would obstruct her happiness. She didn’t have much of anything back on earth though. Maybe she saw this, saw Nephele as a new start.
“…Okay.” It’s a near silent response, but she smiled nonetheless. "Only if you're certain." She would think about that later, she trusted her. Right now, she needed to just relax. Nephele watched C’Leena move behind her until she couldn’t see her in her peripheral anymore, and she focused on her hands to think. Maybe she had to cut her nails, they were getting really long. It wasn’t like they were messy, but certain actions were hindered. Whatever C’Leena was doing with her hair, it felt very elaborate. She wondered how it would look in the end.
Still, Nephele had to giggle to herself, fiddling with her fingers. Her next words are said through a dazed smile. “You know, every time you say something like that, it sounds like a proposal.” Nephele shakes her head, tilting her head back to focus on the ceiling. She never knew how much she’d grow to love having a roof over her head.

"Of course I'm certain. Would tell you if I wasn't." She confirms. She continues to braid, and she finishes it within the period of silence. Just as she finishes up, Nephele speaks up, mentioning a proposal. Her movements have a surprisingly minor hitch in their movement as she ties the twine, keeping the braid together.
Despite the hitch in movement, her voice is as smooth as it usually is. "What, 'Forever and Always'?" She asks. She quietly thinks that maybe Nephele is onto her, but she shrugs it off, preferring not to worry about that particular line of thought. "We shall see, won't we?" She says cryptically. Reaching into her Space Pocket, she takes out 2 rather small mirrors and hands one to Nephele. "Here, hold this up."
With some finagling with reflections, she gives Nephele a look at the braid itself. C'Leena is rather proud of her work. It's not the greatest by any means, but it's pretty decent. Definitely better than the crap she put into Roses hair. That thought garners a smirk from C'Leena. "Thoughts? Good? Bad? So horrid that you just might need to go bald?" She jokes. She would only take a little offense to the third option.
She hadn't braided hair in a good while, so for a first attempt, it came out pretty good. Her knots in the twine might have been unreasonable, as they would probably need to be cut to get off, but with how thick the braid is, it might be warranted. Better to be on the safe side, she reckons. It's a pretty basic braid, just a bunch of the same stuff over and over again, but she is still proud of it.

“Not just that.” Nephele shakes her head minutely, smiling to herself. “Nevermind, it doesn’t matter. Let me see.”
Nephele took the mirror, her eyes going wide as she looked at her reflection. She hadn’t looked into a mirror in years, the closest thing she had being the surface of water. Seeing her hair done up was actively throwing her off, turning her head back and forth to catch every angle she could. Her lips parted, Nephele stared in surprise. Gods, did she always look like this? She's changed so much... “I…adore it.” Nephele said in astonishment. She couldn’t stop staring, her eyes roving over every single inch she could see of her hair. She didn’t even seem to care about the twine, running a finger across her braid. “Gods above and below, are you kidding me? This is incredible, Cee. I can’t believe you’ve never done my hair before…! Wait wait wait!”
Nephele turned around, frowning. She looked less angry and more playfully upset, dropping the mirror to the bed. Her hands had immediately grabbed hold of C’Leena’s cheeks, pinching enough to be insistent but not enough to bruise. “You’ve been holding out on me! How could you, all this time I’ve spent doing your hair and you could casually do mine, too? What else is in that mind of yours, what other talents are you hiding from me?? Answer me!”
Despite every extremely dramatic word, Nephele was grinning. She also wanted an excuse to touch her face. She stopped pinching after a moment of playful glaring, pressing her palms flat to C’Leena’s face. She couldn’t keep it up for long though, having to duck her head down so C’Leena couldn’t see her face when she snorted, bursting into giggles. When she lifted her head, Nephele shook her head, brushing one of C’Leena’s stray hairs from her forehead so she could kiss it.
“Seriously, I absolutely love it. I’ve never had my hair done like this before, it’s so beautiful.”

The amount of positivity that Nephele is throwing at C'Leena is borderline overwhelming as she recoils slightly from the onslaught, with a stunned but overall happy look on her face. She raises her arms in feigned surrender as she is asked what else she can do. "Um, uh.. Math?" She answers hesitantly. Frankly, she has no idea what to say in this situation, if there even is something to say.
However when Nephele broke character, so did C'Leena as they both giggle at the ridiculousness of it all. C'Leena can't tear her eyes away from the frankly stunning smile of Nephele. It's just so genuine and.. It's radiant and contagious and somehow more than C'Leena remembers it being as she feels her heart skip a beat or two.
C'Leena very delicately extends her own hands to Nephele and cups her face, treating every motion as if she were handling glass. "If it means I can see you smile like this? Nephele, I'll braid your hair however you want it." She says in an almost uncharacteristically soft voice. "It means everything that you like it. You need only ask, petal."
C'Leena, just now, just felt herself falling in love with Nephele all over again. It was such a raw moment, with her jokingly interrogating C'Leena to her breaking character and that damn smile. Feeling herself relive those very first moments with Nephele, she did exactly what she wanted to do the moment they met. Pulling Nephele into a kiss, it's one that lasts. It's not an overly exciting kiss, but C'Leena tries her best to convey everything over with this one kiss.
Why is she reacting so strongly to this? She hasn't a clue. All she knows is this moment, and it's all she wants to know for now. Nothing more than Nephele and C'Leena, kneeling on the bed and sharing a moment that will last them their lifetime. Hearing that Nephele actually likes the braid she did for her? That simply adds to the moment. Breaking the kiss after a very, very long moment, she looks Nephele in the eyes with the happiest look on her face.
"Please, never change." She says, the soft voice making a comeback. Her eyes briefly dart over to the pillows nearby, then to the darkened window outside. "As much as I love this entire moment and want it to last forever.. Actually fuck it, I'm extending it. Give me a moment." She doesn't move a muscle as she simply cherishes the moment. The comfortable atmosphere, the light of the flickering, starry flame and the very, very faint glow of C'Leenas eyes on Nepheles skin. After a decent bit, she finally speaks back up.
"Alright. May I suggest we get some sleep? It's getting late and we still need to cross the waters to get to Eclipse City," She says, And I can do what I want to do, already! She adds silently to herself. No matter, she can be patient. They'll get there when they get there. She gives Nephele another kiss. "Again, it means so much that you like the braid. But what do you say? Should we get some sleep or what?"

Nephele was still smiling, tiny ghosts of laughter spilling from her lips as C’Leena cupped her face. She isn’t quite taken off guard when she’s kissed, but she is surprised that it lasts so long. She almost melts against C’Leena, leaning closer into the touch as she lets herself be at peace. She wasn’t too sure why, but this time felt different, yet not unfamiliar. C’Leena felt different, weirdly enough. It wasn’t a bad thing though, quite the opposite. She’d never admit it, but she chased C’Leena’s lips as they parted. She could feel the last two stars zip through her eyes. They felt like a faint buzz behind her eyes, like a tiny bee was stuck in her head.
She laughed quietly at C’Leena’s wish to extend the moment, obediently staying silent and staring at her girlfriend as she did with the same dumb smile on her face. Nephele found it nigh impossible to remove her hands from her braids, gentle with them as to not have them unravel even a little bit.
“Mmm you’re right. I may actually have to sleep, I’m awfully stiff.” Nephele agreed, rolling her neck in emphasis and tilting her head curiously. “I wonder how riding a boat would feel, I’ve never been on one.”
Nephele maneuvered to the bed, putting the covers on for once. She hated being covered, but her body temperature was cold even for her. Normally, Nephele would cuddle C’Leena for warmth rather than putting on a blanket. She writhed around a bit, trying her best to get comfortable. The last thing she needed was to fall ill before a big journey, especially over the water and especially with C’Leena Thomas watching her.
They would get absolutely nothing done, and Nephele firmly believed that.

"Eleven." She counts. She always loved seeing those little shooting stars, and now that she knew what they meant? She loves them even more. C'Leena follows Nepheles lead, getting herself under covers alongside her girlfriend. She's quick to settle and waits patiently for Nephele to settle herself before C'Leena scooted toward her and rested her head on Nephele. Cause who needs a pillow when you have an adorable girlfriend? Not C'Leena.
"Neither have I, let alone a sailboat." She says drowsily. She currently has an arm resting on Nephele, and her other arm holding onto C'Leenas own body. The arm on Nephele shifts and takes hold of her waist, partially hugging her. She'd normally take off her prosthetics, but they've been good enough recently and haven't caused any harm.
Like the flick of a switch, C'Leena went from being wide awake to struggling to keep awake as she lays on her Living, Breathing Always Cold Pillow(TM). "Good...night, petal. I'm glad you like the braid." She says, struggling to string words into coherent sentences. Just as she finishes this sentence, she feels herself drift off into sleep. The night is peaceful and comfortable, even if it's cold as fuck.
That night, she dreamt of what a life with Nephele would look like 10, 20 maybe even 30 years from now. Dreaming of them walking Charon endlessly, finding new little landmarks here and there and simply loving one another's presence. During a particular scene, C'Leena had taken Nepheles hands.
And she saw a wedding band. She woke up the next morning smiling.

Nephele was smiling as C’Leena wrapped her arm around her, cuddling close to her with a soft sigh through her nose. “Good night, Cee.”
It was always so difficult to be lulled to sleep, finding it too vulnerable a position. And yet, the warmth of C’Leena’s body, even with the coolness of her automated limbs, made her feel comfortable enough to find rest. This time, it only took her a half hour to finally let herself sleep, feeling protected. Her dreams were pleasant, nearly nonexistent save for the sounds of laughter and the soft song of C’Leena’s voice.
Nephele awoke before C’Leena, as she typically did. Unlike most times though, she only awoke thirty minutes before she did as opposed to the typical three to four hour wait. If all went well, they would be leaving the Frost Gale and leaving to the Moonglades. She was simultaneously nervous and excited, practically vibrating with glee. The sun had barely peaked over the horizon, the blinding light peering through the window.
Nephele waited quietly for C’Leena to wake up, impatient but fine with waiting a little longer. Now granted, had Nephele made the torrent mistake of waking up an hour or more earlier, she probably would have shaken C’Leena awake and had them leave early. Still she waited.
As soon as C’Leena opened her eyes, Nephele turned around to face her. She hadn’t even left position, so adamant to keep still despite her legs cramping.
“Good morning. Sleep well?” Nephele asked, her voice floaty yet slightly raspy. Her morning voice wasn’t much different than normal, except it being slower and lower pitched.

C'Leena groaned lightly as she was dragged into consciousness. She loved sleeping, but she hated waking up. Every once in a while, she'd forget that she was in Charon and her first thought was 'Gotta get ready for work'. That illusion was immediately broken with Nephele greeting her. "Oh thank fucken god, I have a girlfriend. G'mornin, hot stuff." She mumbles out, happy beyond measure.
C'Leena takes Nepheles left hand and looks at it through bleary eyes. "Mm. Gotta change that." She continues to mumble, borderline incoherently. In her state of having no filter, she doesn't process what she said. Hell, C'Leena isn't even sure that the Fey use rings to signify marriage. She shifts herself off of Nephele and onto the pillow next to Nepheles head, really not wanting to get up into the cold. "Sleep alright?"
After recieving her answer, C'Leena smiled and lightly kissed Nephele before groaning and sitting herself up, already regretting her decision. But they do have a trip ahead of them. C'Leena gets up eventually, stretches and begins layering herself up, wearing her hoodie and then the bigger coat over the top of that. Once Nephele gets up and ready herself, C'Leena is a bit more awake but still drowsy as all hell. "Food?" She asks. C'Leena isn't much of a breakfast person, but it's still better to ask than to assume.

Nephele is completely endeared by sleepy C’Leena, as she always is. (Okay that was a lie; if Nephele had learned anything it was that a cute, sleepy C’Leena was often a diabolical wolf in adorable sheep’s clothing. It was rare that she was just cute, that was usually stage one.) She wasn’t too sure what C’Leena meant by the grabbing of her left hand, chalking it up to her sleepiness. Still, she chose to entertain her and hummed in question.
“Ah, do you mean my nails?” Nephele tried to connect whatever jumbled mess was going on in her brain. She was looking at her hand, right? There had to be a correlation somewhere in there. “I agree, I should probably cut them at some point. I have no need for them to be so long. Maybe some day though.”
She laughed under her breath at seeing C’Leena struggle to greet the day, unable to help the poke to her cheek. Nephele had been learning to tone down her cute aggression, choosing to carefully mediate her bouts of happiness through pokes and prods instead of full on tackling C’Leena into hugs every time she did something she found cute. Sometimes it couldn’t be helped, but it was a slow process. “I slept alright, longer than usual.”
They began to move around, Nephele putting on her many layered clothing and wrapping a scarf around her nose. She refused to get sick, not today. She gathered her things quickly, not far behind C'Leena on preparations. Nephele was so grateful for the braid that morning, glad she didn’t have to wrestle her bedhead. “Breakfast sounds wonderful. You look like you need something in you.” As added emphasis, Nephele reached up to briefly squish C’Leena’s cheeks, moving to the door. Her smile was still palpable through the scarf, her eyes twinkling.
“Now come on, we've got a day and a half ahead of us. Did you get everything?”

C'Leena was not having a good morning. Well, it was good in how it's started, but it's not good with how C'Leena is currently feeling. She's taking absurdly long to wake up and it shows in her sluggish movements and general mood. "Dal, you know I don't eat breakfast. I'm not even hungry." She complained groggily. It's probably the weather and the sheer misery outside. Probably.
"And yeah, I got everything.. I think. Uhh," She opens her Space Pocket and rifles though it, then she looks around the room and grabs the bundle of clothes she chucked down last night and throws it into the rip in reality. "Bugger it, I think I got it all.. If I forgot anything, I dunno, I'll pay you?"
Before leaving, she does have enough of a memory to revert the fire back to it's fiery properties, instead of the starry flame C'Leena had created. That act alone sobers her up plenty through fear alone, and she is quick to leave once she's done. Heading down the stairs into the tavern section of the Inn, C'Leena goes and gets Nephele breakfast and two cups of tea for the both of them. As C'Leena waits for Nephele to finish up, she's noting things down in her book, mug in her right hand and pencil in her left.
She looks deep in thought as she writes. Since her touch now has a valid way forward, she's begun work on the feeling of the prosthetics themselves, so they pass as flesh and blood. Since right now, anybody who gives her a handshake will feel cold metal, that tends to raise a few questions she doesn't want to answer. Strewn across the paper are a number of arcane symbols with circles surrounding specific parts of the rune, indicating what that section does and how to integrate it into a seperate rune.
To an unexperienced eye, it looks stupidly complicated, but it's not all that dissimilar to math or coding with C++, Python or some other coding program. "What if.. No, that would be a fault. Something fails there, the entire thing unironically might explode." she quietly mumbles to herself. That little 'explosive' train of thought gives her a few ideas, but she discards them handedly. She gently bites at the end of the pencil, which is obviously a common occurrence, telling from the many light bite marks on that end of the pencil, as well as a single one on the lead-end of the pencil. Nephele laughed at her for that one.
C'Leena is ready to go when Nephele is, but in the meantime, she might as well make some progress on her work. Once she began working and distracted herself from the torture that is the cold, she woke up decently quickly, now at least 90% functional. Just don't ask her to do any actual math or.. surgery.

Nephele waits for C’Leena to leave, before maneuvering about the room and checking for anything that she may have left behind. C’Leena had basically checked already, throwing everything into the strange space pocket that she created, but Nephele found herself checking around a little bit more thoroughly, just in case. Finding nothing of note, the nymph frowns.
While she didn't know exactly what she was doing, Nephele had heard her girlfriend meandering through the night for the past couple of days. Even while asleep, she could pick up faint movements and sounds. She wasn't sure how to address it, figuring it was probably personal, but she still couldn't help being a little curious. Was C’Leena hiding something on purpose? Could she just ask her? No that wouldn't make sense, if she wanted to tell her, C’Leena would tell her. Still, that unmistakably fey part of her wanted to pry.
For now though, she kept quiet. For the most part she had ignored what she was doing, figuring it had something to do with magic. She’d tell her when she was ready, and it was at the tail end of that thought that C’Leena re entered the room with breakfast. She smiled softly, muttering a gentle “thank you, love” before wrapping her nimble fingers around the warm mug. It was an almost exhilarating feeling has she sipped some down.
“What’re you doing?” Nephele practically sang the question, seated on the bed and watching from a distance. She couldn’t see exactly what she was working on, but knowing C’Leena it was probably some stupid form of arithmetic. (Nephele mentally pat herself on the back for remembering that term. Perhaps she was getting smarter by the moment.) It took Nephele little to no time at all to be done, so she just quietly watched C’Leena with curious eyes.

"If I.. No." She continues to mumble before being addressed. "Huh? Oh, right. I'm trying to figure out how to fake the sensation of flesh and body heat. Since you have been literally providing me with the answer behind my touch, I've begun work on this, now." She explains easily. As she finishes up what she's writing, she pauses for a moment and looks up. "I remember what we were supposed to do in the bath last night." She says before laughing lightly and closing her book. You'd think that re-learning how to meditate would be important enough to remember, but apparently not. Well, perhaps she can learn on the boat?
Speaking of, after she closes the book, she tucks the notebook into a pocket, and her pencil in another pocket as she finishes her drink. Draining the mug, she looks up at Nephele, lightly smiling. "We ready to get doing?" She asks. They're in no particular hurry, but knowing Nephele, she's one to want to leave as soon as possible. The benefits of not eating breakfast? You're almost always ready to get the day started.
Now, C'Leena is, of course, currently keeping a secret. The fact that she's keeping a secret isn't intended as a secret, but Nephele seemingly hasn't discovered the non-secret of the secret. During the night, when she wakes up, she tends to do one of three things: One, she simply sits there and waits for sleep to come grab her again. Two, she gets up, gets herself some tea and sits at the desk for a while. Or Three, she gets up and compulsively paces around the room with the ring in her fingers.
She'd verbally plan things under her breath, so quiet that her own thoughts, heartbeat and breathing often drowned out her incoherent speech. She knows what she wants to do and when to do it, but is it really too soon? Everything and everybody back on earth would tell her 'Yes'. But.. It doesn't feel like it is. This step feels weirdly natural to her, but that may just be her ADHD addled brain being beyond impatient.
Snapping back to the present, C'Leena stands up and offers Nephele her hand to stand as well. They still have a few hours travel to the shore, and most likely a few days of sailing ahead of them. Soon, C'Leena. Soon. Honestly, she can't wait.

In all honesty, Nephele had completely forgotten about what they were supposed to do last night as well. Her lips parted into an ‘o’ shape as C’Leena laughed, fixing her with a sheepish smile. “Oh dear you're quite right about that, I almost completely forgot. We’ll get right on that once we’ve collected our bearings.”
Nephele takes C’Leena 's hand, squeezing it tightly with a smile as she stood. She had to mentally prepare herself for the fact that they were going back outside into the blistering cold, but at the very least they would probably freeze to death together. The weirdly morbid thought tickled her, emulating a giggle from Nephele as they made their way out of the room. She pretended not to notice the business of C’Leena’s eyes, practically able to hear the cogs turning in her head.
Once they made their way through the tavern and subsequentially outside, Nephele tugged the scarf around her neck up to her nose, refusing to fall victim to another cold. It was very pretty outside, the snow covering the grounds and casting a near blinding light that bounced off. Pretty, but wholly inconvenient. At least now she knew how she felt about Frost Gale, and that she'd most likely only be coming back annually rather than whenever she could.
Nephele looked up at C’Leena, more than half of her face obscured by the layers she wore. “How exactly do you feel about walking, dearest? I'm not an expert on your automations but can't they freeze within the joints? Or,” Nephele paused to ponder, tilting her head this way and that as she tried to work out what little she could understand about the prosthetics, “perhaps that's only when they get wet and are exposed to cold temperatures? I'm not completely certain.”
As she spoke, Nephele fiddled with the edge of her scarf, making sure that it didn't slip down at any point. Oh goodness, she thought, I hope C’Leena doesn't get sick. She seemed relatively all right this morning, sleepy, but fine. Anything was possible though.
