"Oh shit! Sorry, sorry!" She apologizes after Nephele loses concentration on her spell. "God that is so cool though! I wonder if - wait what?" She stops dead in her tracks as Nephele compliments her. She's still a bit off kilter and is particularly susceptible to compliments, it seems.
"Uhmm," She's not entirely sure how to respond, so she is essentially thrown for a loop for a hot second as she restarts her brain. "Uhh, no!" She ends up denying, her voice rising an octave as she does so. "..You were going to do something with that. Sorry I got so distracted by the fact you knew how to do magic that I forgot what you were doing it for." She furrows her brow for a second before exclaiming. "Oh shit! Hair stuff! Fucken yeah that's right. Sorry!" She turns herself back around, moving hair out of her face as she does so.
Now she lets Nephele have at her hair. Only now does she actually respond to the rest of what Nephele said. "I mean, you told me you didn't do magic, so I assumed that it wasn't something you really pursued, and therefore didn't have any knowledge of." She shrugs as she finishes her sentence. It's sound reasoning, right? "If you don't like using magic, why are you doing so now? And if you don't mind me asking, why don't you like using magic?
"I mean, I'm a bit biased for obvious reasons," She raises a hand and shakes it a bit, referencing her prosthetics. "Since magic has saved my ass more times than I care to admit. I think the Kobold population at Thunderhoof might not like me very much." She says before she can catch herself. She freezes up for a moment, remembering her wild ride with Shaa Rhuun, the bigass Minotaur. "..Long story."
Moving swiftly on, she continues speaking. "But yeah, shit you learn something new every day. My fucken woman can do magic. Fuck yeah, dude! Rose would be so damn jealous."

For Nephele, C’Leena’s long tangents were part of her charm. She found it so cute that she could go on and on about magic, it made her wonder what kind of things they did in her home realm. She had mentioned science being a main factor, because it really as sparse as she was making it out to be? Or was she simply a big fan of how it operated and wanted to learn more? Either way, it was absolutely precious.
Picking to spell back up again, Nephele began to wash her girlfriend’s hair, refocusing. She waits for her to finish talking, her heart growing warm at the idea of someone she held in such high acclaim feeling any twinge of playful jealousy. Her smile turns wistful, and she answers with a calmness she hadn’t felt in a while: “And I love watching you do magic, it’s very beautiful. I’ve never been comfortable using magic, because every time I used it in my past it was for nefarious means. I’m using it now because I trust you don’t want me for said reasons.”
Nephele couldn’t help herself, leaning down, midway through to press a quick peck to her forehead. She knew how much C’Leena reacted to compliments, and she, in fact, thrived in knowing that it was one of her love languages. Nephele had to ease her cute aggression, because had she rambled on any more C’Leena would have been absolutely smothered in affection.
For now though, she’d wait.

"That is fair enough. I'm glad you trust me with it." She says honestly. She catches the back of Nepheles head as she pulls away and steals a deeper kiss from her. She pulls away with an accomplished smile. "Thank you." She says and doesn't say another word. With how short C'Leenas hair is, it doesn't take too long to finish cleaning it. C'Leena remained still for Nephele, simply enjoying the sensation. As quickly as it started, Nephele finishes up and C'Leena turns herself back around and takes a hold of Nepheles hands.
That lasts all of 12 seconds before C'Leena moves in for a hug instead. It dawned on her just how much trust and faith C'Leena has in Nephele, and she swore she could feel herself falling in love again. It's such a small thing, but as with almost everything that Nephele does, it's always the small things that mean the most. There hasn't been another soul where she'd even think of doing this with, relationship or not. So, to realize that C'Leena not only has all that trust for Nephele, but also is slowly healing from her self consciousness when it comes to her scars? Words simply cannot describe.
So, words won't describe. Simply holding onto Nephele gets her point across well enough as she sinks herself into the crook of her neck.

Nephele was smiling dumbly, the kisses still knocking her off guard to this day. She wondered how often C’Leena would kiss her when the years passed. Would she be as affectionate as today? What about in a week? She loved C’Leena, and the thought of her growing used to or even numbed by the affection was in itself frightening to her. As she finished one last rinse through her hair, Nephele’s ministrations slowed into a stop. She was overthinking, as she tended to, but it still hurt to think of. Obviously that would just mean they’d grown used to each other, right? Where was the harm in that?
And then C’Leena was turning around to hug her, and Nephele’s mind just stopped racing. It was almost comical how fast her mind shut up, not being this close without clothing since…um, well, anyway. Nephele’s face glowed a darker blue, her eyes twinkling with two shooting stars that C'Leena probably missed. She wraps her arms around C’Leena, muscle memory at this point as she holds her on instinct. She knew this was probably C’Leena wanting to be close, as it usually was. Still, she needed this.
“I hope we never grow tired of this.” Nephele murmurs, her hand in C’Leena’s hair. She mostly said this to herself, not expecting her outside thoughts to manifest verbally. It took her several moments to speak again, simply opting to squeeze C’Leena closer and lightly tickle her side every now and again. She liked teasing her even if it was just to make C’Leena look at her. Nephele briefly wondered how C’Leena would react if she were angry. She’d seen her angry at others, but at her? To say Nephele noted that was an egregious understatement.
Then Nephele had another thought, speaking louder: “To my understanding, most people celebrate their days of birth. Do you? I know time is a bit different here.”
Nephele wasn’t entirely sure how these celebrations were had, though she had some small semblance of an idea. Passing through small villages that threw parties for birthdays were rare, but nothing unknown. She wondered what other things C’Leena did. She would love to learn more about where C’Leena was from.

"Me neither." She says quietly in response. Growing used to moments like these would be criminal. Then Nephele tickled her. "AH, YOU EVIL WOMAN! IN A TIME OF VULNERABILITY!" She exclaims. She immediately flinches away from the touch, looking at Nephele with exaggerated betrayal. She's being loud, but not overly so.
Once Nephele stops torturing her poor, poor sides, she re-enters the embrace, forgiving all transgressions immediately. She rested her head on Nepheles shoulder again and closed her eyes, just enjoying the comfort that Nepheles body temperature provides. The water has become lukewarm in the time since they got in, and C'Leena could relight the flame to reheat the water, but not only would that require direct interaction with her sworn enemy, it would also mean she'd have to leave the arms of Nephele. That would be wrong on every single level.
C'Leena furrowed her brow following Nephele mentioning birthdays. Shit, what even is the date? Got here in April.. Somewhere around August I think? Still got a few months until that. She hasn't celebrated her birthday in years; not since she was a kid. It was more of a notable day with C'Leena. "I haven't celebrated my birthday in a long, long time. I'm not even sure my birthday would translate into whatever calendar system Charon uses. It's October 8th back on earth, which would be like, 2 months or so from now?" C'Leena silently wonders where this subject came from.
"What about you? I may not celebrate my own birthday, but I celebrate others! Holy shit how do we not know each others birthdays by now?" The thought dawned on her just as she finished her initial statement. Whats the calendar system like, anyway? Do they go by months or seasons? Learning the date would be a good first step, anyway.

Nephele absolutely reveled in the sounds of C’Leena’s laughter, stopping her onslaught after around 30 seconds of saying she’d stop. Finally, they settled back into the hug, relaxing and absolutely not plotting for another time to attack C’Leena next. It was always when she least expected it, and Nephele was intent on keeping it that way.
Nephele nodded. To her knowledge, Charon used the same system, though she barely cared to regard it. She personally counted things in seasons and moons, but the calendar wasn’t lost in translation, weirdly enough. “October…I’m not completely sure what day it is right now. How curious, I think your world and this one uses a similar system.” Nephele wondered, also making a mental note. “I personally find them confusing, but if I remember correctly, I celebrated my birthday only once. It was during Yule I believe, so towards the end of the year. It was less of a birthday, though. It was the day my mother and I left the Land of Wonder.”
Nephele paused to think, sighing. “The Land of Wonder is weird with time. The only thing I’m certain on was that it was very cold by the time we arrived. No snow that year, but the winds? They were absolutely blistering. I nearly died from freezing, could you imagine?”
Nephele says all of this with a laugh, weirdly enough. It was mostly because when reflecting, she was realizing just how much she had nearly died. There was an incident every year almost. Now, did C’Leena need to know that? No. Was she going to end up accidentally letting that spill some day? Absolutely. She had already had two near death experiences this year, here’s to much, much less.
“But I’m alright now,” she quickly picked back up. “I’m glad I’m so much less fragile now. It’ll take more than that to kill me.”

"Wait really? Huh, thats interesting. Wait, Yule?" There appears to be a number of correlations between Charon and Earth, it seems. A million questions spring into her mind. 'Yule' rings a bell for C'Leena, though. "Yule is a winter festival for the Germanic people. Which is on thee.. 21st of December? 22nd?" The festival itself might not be anywhere close to what C'Leena knows about it (Which is admittedly very little. She only knows it because of a late night documentary a few years back).
"Neph.." C'Leena says in a lightly scolding manner. She'll always be concerned for Nepheles health after hearing stuff like this, be it in the past or not. "Gotta stop nearly dying, dal. It's not fun, and that's coming from somebody who effectively told the Grim Reaper to go fuck himself." She pauses, thinking a few things over. "Although you do have me to come save your ass. Do still try to avoid it, though." Her voice carries a general tone of humor, but the undertone is one of sincerity. C'Leena really is there to save her ass if she gets into trouble, and she'll fight through another damn volcano if it means Nephele is back in her arms alive and well.
"Well, here's to a pair of stupidly hard to kill chicks with nothing but time!" She raises her head off of Nephele and kisses her. She'd usually raise a glass here, but not only does she lack anything alcoholic, but she's been sober for.. Oh lord. "Holy fuck I've been sober for a year and a half now. Fuck that needs to change ASAP." She says from under raised eyebrows. She speaks in a joking tone, but once again, she's partially serious. It would be nice to just get piss wasted with Nephele one night.. If she even is a drinker. C'Leena would hardly count cider as a worthy drink to get drunk on. She also doesn't seem to be the sort to drink hard liquor like C'Leena is.
"Fuck, I hate having a cool fake liver. Shits too efficient. Takes so GODDAMN MUCH to get DRUNK." It's always been something that annoyed her. It does have the plus of not having to worry about liver failure, though. Thats always good. But was it really worth it when you have to spend so much money to get a buzz going? C'Leena is torn. The woes of having fake organs.

“I suppose I’m just a magnet for danger,” Nephele sighed, feigning exasperation. She then poked C’leena’s nose, scrunching up her nose again. “Though I suppose that’s how I snagged you, isn’t it gorgeous?” Then Nephele tilted her head backwards, the loose bun atop her head almost completely unravelling. “Though I will try. That goes for you, too. You’re not the only one who would dismantle an onslaught of mad cultists.” She wasn’t joking, despite the smile on her face.
Nephele accepted the kiss with an eye roll, endeared. Nephele herself didn’t really have that high of a tolerance to alcohol, but she did like to drink every now and again. She never trusted herself to get drunk by herself, afraid that she would be in a bad spot. Weird things happened when she was drunk. Nephele had been indulging in cider, but that was far from liquor.
Still, Nephele could never be accused of not being curious. “We could go drinking someday, if you wish. I’ve never sat at bars long enough to drink myself into a stupor save for once. It wasn’t entirely unpleasant either, it’s just not the best idea to peruse through an unfamiliar place intoxicated.” Nephele didn’t say it aloud, but that was one of those other times she’d almost died. Maybe she did need to reevaluate her life choices, lest they be shortened expeditiously. “I’m certain that we could find something to keep you at least buzzed, my dear.” Nephele reassured, pinching C’Leena’s cheek. “I would hope you have a better tolerance than I do though. I’m no lightweight but some things decrease my tolerance.”
Nephele paused to think. “Were you…conscious, when you had surgery? I must admit I’ve never experienced something like that before, you don’t have to answer if you don’t want to.”

Despite how Nephele worded it, it was actually quite sweet to hear how protective Nephele was being. "Gorgeous? Nah, wrong woman." She quickly denies. Despite her denial, it did still make her smile.
"Oh abso-fucken-lutely," She says excitedly. Seeing a drunk Nephele? That would be quite something. "And darling, i'd drink you under numerous tables. It's not a particularly good thing, but it's a good way to get a easy few bucks from a blokes mates who thought they'd bet on me tapping out." She laughs deeply. It was a nice memory. Nothing particularly noteworthy other than the tenner she got, but still.
Nephele asking about the surgery threw her off for a second. It was such a jarring change of topic that it took her a second to recalibrate. "Jeez, talk about a subject change," She chuckles. "But no, I wasn't. Surgery was too complex to risk keeping me conscious for it. That, and it also took about 8 hours to replace my organs, and a separate surgery that took I think 3 1/2 hours.
"So for the surgeons, they were buggering with what should've been a mangled corpse, for me I fell asleep, woke up with shit making noise in my chest, and the next day I went to sleep again and woke up with limbs again. It was awfully jarring and I don't recommend losing limbs." Despite the uncomfortable subject, she's more than happy to explain it to Nephele. She straightens herself out in front of Nephele. "It's hard to see, but I still have the surgery scar. I also would have one on my lower back if it wasn't already scarred to shit."
She points out the incredibly faint scar between and under her breasts that formed a cross across her chest. The vertical scar ran down to about her midriff. "Since there isn't magic where I come from, we gotta figure out other ways to do it. We created a gas that basically tricks the brain into going into unconsciousness for stupid amounts of time. We also call those states 'Medically Induced Comas' cause we can have them last months if need be." She explains. She thinks she explained it in a good enough way for Nephele to understand, but it's really hard. It also occurs to her that she's not certain if she's mentioned the glaring lack of magic back on earth.
"But I also had a few skin grafts. I used to be completely covered with burns head to toe, and thankfully a good portion of them were able to be removed and replaced. The rest of the scars ran too deep to graft, or were too close to important stuff," She motions toward her eyes. "Uhh.. Did I mention my eyesight is dogshit? Theres a nerve at the back of your eye that connects to your brain that sends what you see into the brain for processing. When the accident occurred, those nerves got heavily damaged. They were functional enough to be at least slightly repaired so I kept my short distance vision, but I can't see far for shit."
"But yeah, wasn't awake for the surgeries. It's not unusual for some people to be awake for surgery - there was a case of a violin player undergoing brain surgery who was asked to remain awake and actually play the violin while they worked. The brain completely lacks nerves, so it's not like the guy was hurting or anything. But the violin essentially acted as a way to know when you touch a part you shouldn't, cause he'd bugger up his piece." The case was probably more than a little concerning to a non-doctor, but it was incredibly interesting to her and it showed on her facial features.

Now, Nephele knew that C’Leena was talking about drinks. She had never used the term “drink you under numerous tables” before however, and she had stared in complete silence to process what that meant. She blinked as C’Leena didn’t even blink an eye with her reminiscing, and it was then that she realized that maybe her mind was a little too dirty for the topics at hand. Wow. C’Leena had well and fully corrupted her now. Somehow she wasn’t 100% opposed to that. For now though she pretended to adjust her hair, covering her face with her arms as she reached up to fight down her embarrassment. She decided to take it down, too heavy atop her head to be deemed comfortable.
Nephele also fully expected C’Leena to explain her surgery, and it went just as she expected. C’Leena loved info-dumping, oftentimes with the intention to gush about her special interests sometimes for hours if she was egged on enough. Nephele was interested though, it was no wonder that she often couldn’t see what Nephele could on their walks together, typically running on instinct alone. But this was one of those times that Nephele was too engrossed in the sound of her voice to even comment. She would look to where she pointed, watch her hands move, hum when she deemed it appropriate.
Tragically, Nephele couldn’t keep the stupid smile off her face for the life of her. At some point she had placed her hands by her sides, her head tilted ever so slightly as she listened to her speak. She had mostly asked because of C’Leena mentioning her liver, and she had meant to ask for a while. Fey doctors were less of a thing where she was from, and for good reason; you wouldn’t want to get operated on by a red cap, then five days into your coma you find that you’re missing a lung and your heart was replaced with a lump of coal. Poor things.
Listening to the story of the violin player, Nephele did finally manage to ask a question, albeit it took a moment to properly form a sentence to wipe the stupid smile off her face: “That’s actually fascinating. Are there other stories like that? For a realm without magic that sounds fantastical almost.” At this point Nephele had crossed her leg over the other, leaning in to further observe the scars a little closer.

Nephele had a distinct advantage when it comes to blushing. Nepheles skin tone is a blue, and she blushes a darker blue. It's not always visible when she blushes, but in this well illuminated room when they are less than a foot apart? Yeah, C'Leena noticed it. It took her a second to figure out what exactly was flustering Nephele, and she really had to engage the 'Degeneracy Drive' to do so. Once she does so, she raises her eyebrows and begins laughing.
"Oh my god! Have I finally ruined your innocence? Petal I don't mean it like that," She paused. This one time, it was for drama. "Unless you want it to be, my dear." She teased before she continued on her info-dump.
Having Nephele actually ask about things like this, though? It's the best damn feeling in the world. Her glee is very apparent as she smiles widely and shifts slightly. Right now she's sat on her knees facing Nephele without a care in the world. "Oh my god there are so damn many stories of surgical and medical mysteries. Stories of things like the brain surgery, though seem to elude me. Surgeries are generally rather tedious and boring, but there are so many medical and psychological conditions that we don't fully understand."
"I mean, back there I was technically a surgeon as well. Prosthetists need to have surgery training and experience so we can actually attach prosthetics to the nervous system. Uhh, how to explain.. Oh wait, I have prosthetics. Fucking wild thing: The connection actually is pretty spot on for how we did it on earth. Here:" C'Leena's eyes flash before she removes her right arm and sets the prosthetic to the side and shows Nephele the stump. The connection simply looks like a metal disk with inscriptions circling the interior.
"This would generally be a wonky alloy that has strength and remains light. This would have plenty of connections for the arm to attach into, but we got Magic Bullshit to do that for us. The prosthetic would have to be connected directly to the nervous system, which would allow the brain to control the prosthetic as if it were a normal limb..." C'Leena goes on to info-dump even more about the surgery, and even spoke of a time where an unconscious patient kicked her in the jaw the second the prosthetic was attached. Despite the injury, she found it really damn funny and doesn't actually know why that happened.
This goes on for a good while. The entire time she had a look of nostalgia and happiness as she wildly gestured and tried to give explanations and elaborations where needed. She was absolutely loving being able to talk about this. Eventually, a thought hit her. "...Wasn't there another reason for us being here? Ah, fuck it, I actually think we might be actively overstaying our welcome. I don't know how long we rent these rooms for but we've been in here for.. Fucken hell, a good while at least. Whatever it was, It can probably wait. C'mon, we can talk more in the room. Lets get shit done, and I still want to braid your hair."

Nephele leaned forward, thoroughly enthralled by the physical presentation. Her eyes curiously roved over the arm, trying to have the cogs turn in a new direction. C’Leena Rants(TM) required her to think critically, something she wasn’t used to. Nephele was used to seeing C’Leena’s prosthetics, oftentimes poking at them when she would wake up in the morning, but hearing it explained? Ten times more confusing.
Still, she did her damnedest to try to understand; anything to make C’Leena happy.
“And that’s why it often misfires when you dream, because the mind is still awake…interesting.” Nephele murmured, able to piece a little of what C’Leena was saying. Through every word though, the nymph did her best to understand. Her mind was almost actively protesting, but she ignored it.
So if her brain was connected to the prosthetics, it was likely that C’Leena’s mind was her biggest strength and caveat. The fact that her mind could move her limbs efficiently enough to fight was incredibly resilient of her wasn’t unknown, but it certainly gave her insight into how she worked as a person. It also, seemingly, gave Nephele the tools she needed to help her in the future with her meditation.
Again though, C’Leena's words snapped her out of her thoughts. “Hm?” Nephele blinked as she realized she was being spoken to. She really needed to stop doing that, it was becoming a little too obvious. “Oh, you’re right. We should go.”
Nephele grabbed the comb, standing up and stretching her hands overhead. She could withdraw the water from her body, but as C’Leena knew, she preferred to do things in a way that they both could. In a strange way, it made Nephele feel more included, grounded even. She was almost inept at writing, but she still did her best whenever she could help. Most nights when C’Leena lay awake, Nephele would attempt to read through her notes, often muttering aloud and letting out soft “ahh” and “aha” sounds. Nephele lifted her hair high enough to drain the tub, humming as she did and saying: “Perhaps when we get somewhere warmer, we can meditate under flowing water. For now we should go, I fear we may be taking up someone else’s time.”

C'Leena reattaches her prosthetic and hops out of the bath with ease and quickly begins drying off. It's done incredibly quickly as she puts on a spare set of clothes and gathers up her previous outfit. She's still smiling, pleased as all hell that she could talk about all this. Whether or not Nephele actually understood what she was saying was still in the air, but she'd be more than happy to explain if Nephele asks.
Once the both of them are clothed, C'Leena practically drags Nephele back into the room. "Sit. Might take me a hot second to get back into the rhythm of it, but I'll get there. Any particular way you want it braided?" She asks, motioning to the bed as she sets the bundle of dirty clothes down on the floor for the time being. She'll wash them soon enough - probably tomorrow morning.
After Nephele sits and C'Leena moves behind her, she begins finger-combing Nepheles hair, still marveling at the sheer length of it. "Oh, by the way: I know there's a hell of a lot of unknowns about earth and whatnot, so if you're a bit lost on what I'm saying or simply want to know more, please ask. I'd love nothing more than to tell you what I know." She says this, knowing full well that Nephele doesn't ask questions very often when she doesn't understand something. C'Leena wants to encourage questions and whatnot because it gives Nephele a glimpse on the sort of person C'Leena is, just like how learning about Charon gives C'Leena a look into how Nephele is.
After she combs through Nepheles hair, she once again sets her chin on Nepheles shoulder and wraps her arms around her waist. Memories flash through her mind of the early days of C'Leena and Nepheles relationship, and she smiles. "I love you." She says with no context. There doesn't really need to be any context, it's the truth.

Nephele dressed herself quickly and followed C’Leena to their room, the room still warm from when they first left. She sits down, opting to sit on the bed for C’Leena’s benefit with her legs crossed and tucked beneath her. She rolled her shoulders, aptly energized and warmed up now. She still felt a little sluggish, but at least she wasn’t exhausted.
The feeling of fingers in her hair would always be nostalgic to her. With a comfortable sigh rumbling in the back of her throat, Nephele leaned into the touch for a few seconds. “I will, thank you. It’s fascinating, learning about where you come from. It makes me wonder if I would survive there. I probably wouldn't, but it's an interesting thought.” Then Nephele readjusted so C’Leena could actually comb through her hair. She wanted to say more, but again, she refused to bring down the mood. Her mind narrowed in on the fingers in her hair, finding a distraction. The cold was clearly affecting her mental state, she’d have to fix that.
The embrace doesn’t quite surprise Nephele, but she pauses for a moment before reacting. Hearing those three words from C’Leena were among her favorite things in the world. She lifts a hand to C’Leena’s face, turning her head so they were looking into each other’s eyes. “I love you more.” Nephele responds, pressing a quick kiss to her lips before looking forward, her eyes drawn to the fireplace.
“Whatever you think would fit. I’ve never had it this long so I’m not too sure what would look best.” Nephele said honestly, twirling her finger around a stray strand and watching it coil and spring back into place. “I apologize if that’s not much help, but I’m sure you can think up something in that beautiful brain of yours.” Another kiss to the corner of C’Leena’s mouth, and then she whirled back around.

C'Leena smiles even wider as a result to the affection. She'll never get used to this, nor does she want to. Her eyes drift toward the fire as well and C'Leena shifts uncomfortably, but she'll live. Actually, perhaps if she.. "Did you know that it's possible to change the color of a fire without magic?" She says. Perhaps if she turns it into something to show Nephele, it might help alleviate her stress.
C'Leena points at the flame and the sigaldry under her skin lights up a deep red and form the very same rings around her arm as if she were casting Telekinesis1. The flame flares up slightly upon being interacted with, and she lightly rotates her arm as the flame begins to gently morph through the color spectrum.
She clears her throat before speaking, having a difficult time hiding away her discomfort. As the flame dances and changes color, moving from the normal orange to a deep red, to a Carmine, through yellow and to green, blue violet and even pure white, she lists off the chemicals that would naturally cause those colors.
"Copper Sulfate, or just Copper, Alcohol, straight up Salt. They all have chemicals that change the composition of the flame for a brief period, which causes the change in color." The fire begins to fire off sparks for a moment, popping aggressively. Despite C'Leena causing that, she still flinches. "..Sugar can cause it to pop like that." Then she gets an idea. Chances of it working are slim, but she has magic. There isn't any harm in trying.. hopefully.
C'Leena focuses, and the sigaldry lights up even further. The rings around her arm that were softly spinning begin to speed up and pulse in time with her heartbeat, and the flame begins to morph. The color drains from the fire, creating a flame that, instead of producing light, it consumes it. A dark patch surrounds the fireplace as C'Leena continues focusing. A few moments pass and the flame re-emerges from the darkness, but instead of it's normal orange flame, it now resembles the stars in the night sky. It's not a perfect replica by any means, but the flame appears black, with thousands of small stars floating in the dancing flame. The fire does still produce light, and it's more than enough to navigate the room with ease.
"..Aint shit that can do that, though. Phew, that was difficult." She says as the sigaldry begins to slow and dull before vanishing entirely off her arm. Honestly? The fire is actually kind of pretty like this. Never thought I'd say that sentence again. C'Leena is normally deathly afraid of fire for obvious reasons, but she's willing to put that aside if it means getting to show off to Nephele. Despite that, C'Leenas breath is still shaky from directly buggering with a fire, even though it's some distance away. Taking a deep breath, she returns to Nepheles hair and begins braiding it.
"Anyway, you don't mind? Alright, I think I can get something going." She says as she begins. Her plan is to braid three different sections of her hair, and then braid those three into a larger braid down the middle. In her head, C'Leena reckons it would look really damn good on her. Now the question is if she can pull it off to a satisfactory degree. In the beginning, she works in silence, trying to keep focus as she re-finds her rhythm. Once she does, however, she becomes more talkative.
"Back on earth, there was a saying. 'When it comes to a group of people that are unfamiliar with technology, tech and magic are indistinguishable'. I'm paraphrasing big time, but that was the gist. Like I told you in the poppy field, my humanity has begun to explore the stars. Each star has a number of planets, some of those planets have moons, and we are searching them for other intelligent life. Hell, just life in general. Humans are the only species that has gained sentience, and there has been a lot of talk about humans being alone in the universe.
"I don't particularly agree with that sentiment. The universe is infinite, as far as we can tell. Countless solar systems with countless galaxies all in a vast universe. The chances of sentience being only with humanity is impossibly small. But wherever they are, we haven't found them yet. I'm curious on how long it'll take." She's unsure on where this came from, but it's something to talk about as she weaves strands of hair together. C'Leena would talk about everything and anything if Nephele wanted it, just as she'd listen to everything in Nepheles curious little brain just as happily. Her mind drifts to her Space Pocket and it's contents, and her resolve solidifies just that little bit more.
