Oh, how Azalea loved flowers. Because of the time of year, she had decided to take some time away from working all the time and take a small adventure, up somewhere her parents always told her about. The Lantern light woods were famed for their flora, and she was always told how specially beautiful this place was, especially around this time of year. Given that it was Lea’s first time ever being in Moonglade, and she chose a rather unsafe adventure, her mentor and her friend were particularly concerned. Nonetheless, Azalea chose to go - She simply couldn’t miss this.
It had taken quite some time to get down here. While Azalea was not the best traveler, she was pretty resourceful nonetheless. She had ended up finding a guide to help her up here, and when she had finally felt comfortable, they left. That was perfect for her, as Azalea did just want to be alone with her surroundings. She found a comfortable tree branch, sat down, and started drawing. Azalea would lose herself to time, trying to draw as many flowers as possible.

It had taken a bit longer this time around but Ube finally collected enough berries and edible flowers for a somewhat satisfactory meal from the nearby woods. It wasn't much but it kept them alive, thats all that mattered in the end. At the very least, no one would be nearby. Ube didn't dislike the villagers but being alone in this beautiful scenery is quite therapeutic. However, as they made their way back home with their hands full of edible flora, they noticed a lady, here in the forest. Ube had never seen them before in their time coming here. They found it odd as they had familiarized themselves with the people that came here and actively made an effort to pick their food away from them. Despite their concerns and knowing that communication would be difficult, Ube approached, curious and hoping that maybe this time they could talk with someone properly.

Azalea was so lost in thought - This place was so wonderfully out of a book, that it was difficult to bring herself back into reality. But when she heard light footsteps, well, at first she blew it off as a creature native to the forest. With a place as quiet as this, the sounds of the forest were that much easier to hear, after all. But when she caught something out of the corner of her eyes, she reacted as anyone would in her position, and freaked out a little. She pulled a dagger from her belt, and it shot up. Azalea aimed it, but quickly realized… How harmless this person looked.
Azalea’s face fell from shock, and into a sort of guilty smile. “Well hello!” She says in a sing-song voice, the dagger being untethered, and put back into it’s hilt. “I’m so sorry! I totally didn’t mean to– I thought you were… something? Else? I’m so sorry! Hi! I’m Azalea!” She jumped down from the ledge she had on the tree, and bowed her head to the person as they landed.

Ube, taken aback by the dagger, panicked heavily. They step back, a started to hyperventilate. Dropping their picked food, Ube held themselves in a frightened grip. Even their tail around their waist tightened, the memories flooding back for a short second. That was enough to send Ube into a deep fear.
Calm down! Calm down! You just scared them. You're ok. You're ok. Breathe. Its not like before. Ube thought to themselves, closing their eyes and covering their mouth(a trick a kind villager showed them whenever these things would happen). Slowly, their heavy and rapid breathing slowed till Ube fully calmed down. After a moment, Ube looked to Azalea and waved as they crouched down to pick up their meal off the floor, their face turning from their shade of purple to a light violet as UBe blushed with embarrassment.
Geez... I must've looked like a fool... Ube said in their head, now avoiding eye contact.

Azalea’s face dropped to guilt immediately as they reacted, dropping their food and cowering in fear. She stood for a second, covering her mouth. “I am so so SO sorry! Oh my goodness, I cannot believe how terrible I am! Here…” Azalea goes to help them clean up. “Oh, I totally owe you a meal! I promise, next time, It’ll be on me!” She replies cheerily.
“I am again, so so so sorry. I don’t usually react like that, but I’m new to the area, and well… I’m really far from home. And I just.. Don’t really know what’s out there. So I guess it’s a step up, because before I would have just screamed and run off. But I guess my fear response has changed? Is that a good or a bad thing? Um. Anyways. What’s your name?”
Azalea had no clue why the person wasn’t talking. But also to be fair, Azalea talked… a lot. It was a bit annoying to other people.

Ube released a sigh of relief, now knowing the lady named Azalea didn't mean any harm. They reach for their booklet which was tucked in between their waist and thin tail, the tail itself acting as a makeshift belt. Pulling it out and a piece of charcoal from their pocket, they open the book and begin to write something. After a few seconds, Ube turned the book around to face Azalea, the page reading: Its ok. Fellbloods are rare here so it makes sense you would get scared. My name is Ube. And yes, that fear response is appropriate.
They gave a small smile as they rose back up from the ground, a decent gathering of their dropped meal now in one arm. A small moment, Ube places their booklet back to their tail belt and offers a hand up, a little happier that their attempt to meet someone didn't go awry.

Lea giggled. “To be fair, my kind are also not usually seen around here. So I guess it is a rare chance for us both to be here at the same time!” Lea grinned brightly. She had deduced that they were probably mute, which was fine. Writing in a book was an effective way of communicating. Lea happily took the help up. “What are you doing here? I’m just here for the flowers, I just think they’re so pretty! I haven’t seen anything like them and well… I really like flowers.” She shrugs.
“I was drawing them. I had decided to start travelling so I could see flora from everywhere, but I haven’t interacted with many people, honestly. I’m fine with that, of course. I like watching people more than I like interacting anyways. Oh, but if you’re here to also get away from people than I could easily find somewhere else!” She was a little worried about bothering them - SHe already made the worst possible introduction to herself. It isn’t like she’d want herself around after that.

Ube withdrew their book again, this time leaving it open on top of the small pile of goods they were carrying as they wrote their reply. "I come here to pick food. The townspeople nearby don't dislike me but most don't wish to have someone who looks like a demon in their establishment so I can't really work for solars. Ah but I do agree, the flowers here are quite beautiful. Sometimes, I just sit in the forest and listen to the birds and admire the sight of this place." They looked Azalea with a curious look at the mention of flora across the lands. They knew of the world outside Moonglade but they had yet to take foot outside of the region. It reminded the fellblood of a few things they didn't wish to remember.
"Don't worry about bothering me. I was the one to approach after all. Though if you yourself are busy, feel free to take your leave if need be. I just wanted to try conversing with someone. Its a little obvious I don't talk to people isn't it?" Ube let out a hushed chuckle as they wrote that last bit.
A sudden rustle of forestry alerted the fellblood as they immediately turned to face the sound and took a defensive stance. The noise drew closer and closer before revealing itself as Ube dropped their guard to the sight: A pair of aviancubs with a look of panic and fear on them. The two ran towards Azalea, hiding behind her as they quivered and shook. Ube looked curiously at the younglings as they pondered why these two were without their mother. As far as they knew, avianbears were quite protective of their young. They kneeled down, procuring a few berries in hand to offer to the cubs. While one stayed behind Azalea, the much more curious cub slowly drew close. It took a couple of berries in their mouth and brought it to the cowering one, dropping them on the floor to eat.
