Nephele is decidedly grateful for the diversion in topic, despite it doing nothing to deter her mood. In fact, as soon as C’Leena heard the phrase “freezing my tits off”, Nephele had immediately burst into high pitched giggles, covering her mouth with the back of her palm. It was stuff like that that Nephele compartmentalized, making a mental quotebook of weird things that C’Leena said that made her laugh, cry, stare, or any number of things.
“Silly,” She chastised without any venom. Smiling, Nephele’s eyes were drawn to C’Leena’s wings, marveling in the change in luminosity tonight. She wondered if C’Leena was aware of it this time, but judging from how she asked about flying, she seemed more aware. Good.
“If you’re well enough to fly, then by all means. It seems faster anyway.” Nephele acquiesced, running a finger over one of the wings with a stare of pure wonder. “And I won’t, believe me dearest. I will always be with you…let’s start by getting you inside. We can pick up when there’s daylight, when you’re ready.”
Nephele went to stand, helping C’Leena stand and again went to stretch, arms overhead and face scrunched up. She yawned and popped her back, surprised that she felt so loose even after sitting for who knows how long. It was probably due to the crying, but suddenly Nephele’s eyes felt heavy. She wasn’t tired per se, but rather drowsy and dehydrated. She definitely needed to bathe first thing in the morning, and by the time they get back to their room she would probably find some time to sketch.

Standing up with Nephele, her legs would probably be weak if they were biological. Thankfully, that's not the case, although her balance is a bit out of whack, and her wings move and flap in an effort to keep her balanced. She had a smile on her face since she got Nephele to laugh. That was always something to celebrate about.
Quickly gathering up their untouched gear, she hands Nephele a water canteen, assuming she's at least feeling a little thirsty. If C'Leena was in need of water, Nephele was probably worse off. Taking her own canteen, she takes a quick drink before packing it back into the bag and handing it to Nephele once she was done with her own drink.
Once Nephele took the bag and got everything in order, C'Leena scooped Nephele up in a bridal carry, before stretching out her wings. Bending her knees and pushing herself into the air, the wings took the work in lifting them above the canopy. Twisting as they ascend, they eventually come to a stop in the air, her wings remaining outstretched and not flapping, yet their altitude doesn't shift.
The sky was stunning. A lightly cloudy night was illuminated well by a full moon. C'Leena finds herself staring at the star filled sky with a look of wonder. "I never want to grow used to this." she says passively. Her wings begin flapping again as they begin moving toward the town at a meandering pace - if that could even be said for flight. It is a lot colder up here, but she doesn't mind it. She just hopes Nephele is enjoying herself.
This night has meant everything to her. Despite Nepheles words, C'Leena knows she truly wont be able to pay her back for everything Nepheles done for her.

Nephele clings to C'Leena for dear life, unused to the height but still completely fascinated with everything about it. She let out an elated laugh at the wind whipping around her face. This had no idea at all what she was thinking when it came to tonight, but she was glad it had gone as it did. Her glee at being helpful and making C'Leena react so strongly and positively was making her lose composure. The only thing that stopped her was the promise that C'Leena probably would malfunction (mentally and literally, if she was loopy enough) if Nephele kissed the hell out of her midair. So she stopped herself, laughing into the night air.
One thing did stick with Nephele though: C'Leena had mentioned the presence of shooting stars in her eyes. It wasn't exactly a cause for concern, but she was surprised. Often, Callythia would speak in length about the eyes of her father, and how when he would gaze upon her mother they would do something similar. If C'Leena had caught five, then that...well, that was for another night. Again, whatever she wanted to tell C'Leena could wait for when they weren't far from land.
Then she had an idea, to further show her appreciation. Nephele looked up at C'Leena, aware that she couldn't look at her right now. She leaned up, and said in as low and as careful a voice she could (please gods don't drop her):
"Let me sing for you tonight. I'll ease you to sleep once we're back."
It was the least she could do, she believed. Yes, Nephele herself was drowsy, but it was nothing she hadn't ignored before. Knowing C'Leena though, as soon as she saw her face she'd probably be strongly encouraged to sleep for a few hours. With that statement Nephele returned to her regular position, arms still clasped behind her neck and her head resting against her shoulder.

They remain in the air for some time, with C'Leena moving gently through the night breeze. Her grip is certain but careful to avoid harm. Nepheles offer catches her slightly off guard as she looks down at the woman in her arms and her smile widens.
"I'd like that. You should sing more often; I really love your voice." She responds and returns her gaze ahead as she speeds up slightly, the wind slicking back her hair as they pick up speed. It takes no time at all to return to the town, the streets empty but with chimneys billowing smoke that C'Leena avoids like the plague.
They land gently in front of the inn, and her wings fold back behind her before shimmering away. Without putting Nephele down, they enter the inn and enter their room. In their search for stuff to pack for their little trip, the room was looking a little worse for wear, the bed looking the worst.
Only now does C'Leena put Nephele down, taking the bag from her and setting it on the chair and quickly unpacking everything, setting them on the desk. Once finished, she sits down on the edge of the bed, clearly exhausted. The tiredness had finally caught up to her, and the flight did her no favors. Kicking off her boots and pushing them to the side with her foot, she practically rolls onto the far side of the bed.
"C'mon dal'n. C'mere." It's clear she's incredibly tired by the sole fact that she hasn't removed her prosthetics. She sits up slightly in the bed with a beckoning motion with her arms. Shes trying her best not to pass out, and surprisingly it's working. She wants to hear Nephele sing, dammit. She wouldn't miss this for the world. Not ever.

Nephele took no time joining C'Leena, opting to sit up rather than lay down. She oriented herself so C'Leena was more or less laying her head in her lap, with Nephele adjusting and running her fingers through her hair. She hadn't sung for anyone in years, but she felt more than ready to try for her girlfriend. Nephele began to undo the braid in C'Leena's hair, careful and soothing as she wet her lips and began to sing. This song was usually sung in fairy circles by pixies and red caps where she was from, one of the few positive memories from her time in the Land of Wonder. Nephele's mother used to be an incredible singer, often unable to join them because of her position, but able to provide music for them from the rivers. Callythia's voice was much fuller than hers, whereas Nephele's voice sounded like she was whispering, like a lullaby. As Nephele sang, weaving words together in a completely different language, she massaged C'Leena's scalp. She'd redo the braid later. Nephele tried to remember how her mother sounded when she sang this. Did Callythia ever sing to her father? She certainly sang to Nephele herself, teaching her everything she knew. It was like she was falling into a meditative state again, as the sound of her voice mixed with another. It was still her singing, but it sounded like two different people were singing at once. Nephele barely even noticed, closing her eyes and letting herself get through the song. What C'Leena hears are two different voices, one singing alto and the other singing soprano. One is the voice she's heard before, soft and gentle and caring. The other is singing the lower notes, fuller and slightly harder to hear. They're both gentle voices, but two different people. By the time Nephele finishes, she finally notices the last few notes weren't entirely in her head. She looks behind her, seeing nothing. That...was strange. Her fingers had stopped moving abruptly in C'Leena's hair as she listened for the sound again, and yet nothing. Nephele looked down to check on C'Leena, worried.

C'Leena lets Nephele shift her over her lap. Laying her head down, it becomes an actual struggle to stay awake, and it becomes a losing battle once Nephele starts singing. C'Leena has always loved her voice, and she'd only heard her sing once before, so it's nice to hear it again.
Something that startles her a bit, however, is the doubling of her voice. Her startlement doesn't last long, however as her eyes grow incredibly heavy. Her fight to hear the end of the song is a losing one as her eyes finally close. She wasn't present enough to notice that it probably wasn't supposed to be happening, and by the time Nephele looks down at C'Leena, she is already asleep.
Shes curled up in a loose fetal position with her head resting on Nephele's lap. Her right hand is resting atop one of Nephele's thighs, and her other hand is holding onto her own waist. She looks perfectly at peace as she lays there. Had she been more than slightly conscious, she would have been bragging about laying her head on Nephele's lap. It is a dream come true for a lot of people, C'Leena included.
That night, her dreams aren't of times past. She doesn't get her nightmares, she doesn't dream of Rose, but instead of Nephele. What a life with her might be like. The topic pushes a smile onto her face as she sleeps. Despite her dreaming, she doesn't shift in the night other than to adjust her hold on Nephele whenever possible.

Nephele scanned C'Leena's face for any signs of disturbance, her nerves alight. Seeing nothing but peace on her face, the nymph's anxiety slowly ebbed away. She took a deep breath, a fond smile easing her features. She must have been hallucinating. Perhaps it was the lack of proper rest, that had to be it. With that thought in mind, Nephele carefully adjusted herself so that she was in a more comfortable position. It was weirdly reminiscent of when a bison calf would rest on her, afraid to move too much and disturb C'Leena's peace.
Nephele eventually resorted to listening to the sounds of the odd breathing from her girlfriend, everything that much louder in the dark. At some point she drifted off, though she wasn't entirely sure when. Nephele's dreams were not much different, but every now and again when the terrors were too much, C'Leena seemed to shift in her lap at just the right time, distracting her from the whispers.
When the next day rolled around, Nephele was already wide awake. She still hadn't moved, and she looked like she'd never known sleep in her life, but she was content. Nephele kept to carding her fingers through C'Leena's hair, tracing the scarring on her face with her eyes.
"Awaken when you're ready, dearest. We have a long day ahead of us." Nephele greeted, mostly to the air as she was unsure if C'Leena was even awake yet. It was nearly noon however, and if she had to awaken C'Leena by tickling her she was not opposed. Nephele paused in her ministrations, thinking. That wasn't all that bad an idea.
Smiling mischievously, Nephele's hands dipped to squeeze C'Leena's sides, as an experiment to see if she'd stir.

Her soft hums come to a stop when Nephele speaks and she stirs slightly. Various grumbles of protest make their way past her lips, none of which are comprehensible. In the end, she doesn't move from her spot. That immediately changes when Nephele goes down and grabs at her sides.
"AH, FUCK!" she practically screams as she attempts to escape, but her sleep addled mind prohibits her from being at all dexterous, so she is stuck flailing around as she is assaulted. The type of wild giggles that someone can only make while being tickled to death fill the room. "YOU EVIL, EVIL WOMAN."
It's strange. C'Leena is ticklish, but the primary reason she flinches away from touch is because she's not huge on people touching her scars. With Nephele, she's okay with it. Hell, C'Leena has been completely shirtless in front of Nephele with little problem.
But to have her weaknesses turned against her in a moment of tranquility? That cannot be forgiven. Pushing through the urge to curl up and protect herself against the onslaught, she pushes the really fucking cold hands out the way and she practically lunges for Nephele, grabs a hold of her and pulls her back. With Nephele effectively on top of her, she rolls herself in order to switch their positions.
"You're just a sinister little shit, aren't you?" She says, looking down and Nephele under her. It doesn't occur to her that this whole scenario looks very different without context. Since right now, she has a leg on either side of Nephele, and her hands pinning down Nepheles wrists to stop the attack. Despite everything, she's not 100% against this from Nephele.

At the flip of their positions, Nephele lets out a shrill peal of laughter as C’Leena struggles to regain her position. She struggled for a little bit, laughing herself silly as C’Leena pinned her down. She lifted herself up to try and buck her off, but to no avail.
At C’Leena’s remark, Nephele rose a brow in challenge. She very much took into account their positions, and an impish grin rose to her lips as she failed to tame her giggles. “...Sorry?” She sang out the question, laughing still and clearly not meaning the word in any capacity.
Nephele could get used to this. Yes, the screaming and shrieking laughter was unheard of coming from C’Leena, but now that she knew she was ticklish? Oh she was going to milk the hell out of this. For now though, Nephele tilted her head, her hair pooling around her head against the bed. She was fully issuing a challenge, a glimpse of the childlike humor and innocence that Nephele tried to keep at bay. Maybe it was her random burst of energy after seeing C'Leena awake. She then leaned up, pecking her quickly on the lips.
“I’d hardly call myself sinister, dearest,” Nephele teased. “Though I can certainly try.” It was blatant flirting, but her goofy smile betrayed her words.

C'Leena rolls her eyes at Nepheles 'apology', but smiles nonetheless. She was moments from releasing her when Nephele decided to flirt. Now, it's already a fact that C'Leena completely lacks a filter when she wakes up, so the first response she gets is a mischievous grin.
Moving Nepheles hands above her head and holding both her wrists in one hand, her now free hand goes to cup Nepheles chin. "You? Sinister? Why don't you try for me, hm? Impress me." She says. Her voice has taken on a new timbre. She's dropped an octave and her voice has adopted a velvet-y and husky sound to it. Her accent has been mostly lost as she speaks.
There is a new sort of feeling emanating from C'Leena. It's like that motherly vibe she takes on when she's caring for Nephele, but turned up to 11. There's a look in her eyes that almost beg for a challenge, and her impish grin promised retaliation. Even when she has a filter, she's often one to take a challenge and double down on it, sometimes to her own detriment. She always finds it incredibly funny to see people back off once she does things like this.
With Nephele? C'Leena feels like she can push what she usually does a bit further. With her friends back on Earth, she's hit them with the voice and flirt a bit, but always in a joking manner. Right now though, she's with her damn girlfriend. She's going to push this as far as it'll go or until Nephele backs down. There 'aint a chance in hell that C'Leena is backing off first.
Almost to prove her point, she leans down next to Nepheles ear, and in a feathery, but overall same voice: "Come on, my little petal. Show me what you've got."

…Huh?
So no, Nephele was not prepared for the new angle this interaction had taken. In fact, she was 95% certain that she was absolutely losing her mind. She wasn’t…dreaming, was she? She blinked, once, twice, three times...nope, everything was still real. The fingers touching her chin, the hand holding her down, the voice in her ear… she’d done it now.
Nephele’s smile fades first, and by the time C’Leena has lifted her head, the nymph’s face and ears were a deep, dark blue. Her mouth had fallen open, opening and closing like a fish and her eyes looked entirely unfocused because what the hell, what the hell, what the actual hell?! Nephele was frozen for only a little under ten seconds, until turning her head so fast in the opposite direction that bits of her hair accidentally smacked C’Leena in the face. Luckily most of it was viscous, but the effect was still kind of there.
“I-I, um…” Her voice pitched up, unsure how to fix her tone. Nope, this was a mistake, clearly. How the hell did she forget about C’Leena’s severe lack of filter in the morning? Nephele was sure she’d get into a tough spot one day, but she was so unbearably embarrassed and gods, why was it so damned hot?! “Y-You win, I’m sorry.”
It was a swift defeat, but a smart one. Nephele wasn’t that stupid. Her face was practically glowing, and in fact, if C’Leena were watching her closely enough, she would notice the cool steam literally escaping her nose with every deep breath. This was a battle better fought another day, and on a day where they didn’t have things to do. Things to do, perfect!
Sensing an out - though Nephele couldn’t make eye contact for the life of her – she quickly piped up: “D-Don’t w-we have things to do today? I, we actually have to… ahhh, póso ntropiastikó!” Nephele hissed the last part in a flustered cry. She couldn’t quite cover her face, but it was obvious that she was flustered to the hells and back. She wouldn’t mind so much if…actually, no, she wouldn’t entertain that thought. Absolutely not, no, no, no, no, no. Nephele was already embarrassed, and C’Leena knew what the hell she was doing. She’s such an ass. Nephele huffed to herself.
“Y-You know what I mean!” Nephele rushed out, still looking away. Not the time, not the time. Yes, C’Leena was her girlfriend and she loved her more than life itself. Right now, though? She was going to pass the hell out if she didn't get off. Curse her for doubling down.

C'Leena softly tsk'd at Nephele backing down, but her grin morphs into a proper smile as she quickly kisses Nephele, releases her and gets up. Now that she's properly awake, not only is she completely aware of what she just did, she also now has ammunition against Nephele. She feels absolutely no embarrassment from her stunt.
"Keeping that one in mind." She says, laughing in a borderline evil manner. "You're adorable when you're flustered. You know that, right?"
After her comment, she opts to change into different clothing, seeing as she's been in these clothes for the past day and night. "We should probably go get cleaned up. I'll go rent the baths, get yourself prepped and I'll go in after you. Sound good?" She asks, looking toward Nephele. Despite an incredibly subtle blush, she looks and acts like nothing just happened. Her smile betrays that slightly, as it looks a little lop-sided; essentially her tell when she's either going to do or has just done something to fuck with someone else. "Oh, and your singing is beautiful, petal. You should sing more often." She smiles and opens the door.
She exits the room and is gone for only a few minutes. When she returns, she takes out her notepad and pencil and begins going over what she'll be teaching Nephele. She's got the gloves, the rapier and the knowledge, now she just needs to put it into practice.
Going back to basics is surprisingly difficult for C'Leena, but she thinks she's got a good set of first steps for her to take. Surprisingly enough, her teacher back on earth who taught her the form she uses also showed her a sword dance that also works as meditation, apparently. She never actually used it, but with her new knowledge from what Nephele taught her, she might be able to make it work. Perhaps she can teach Nephele that, too.
Granted, she's incredibly rusty on the dance, but she hopes it'll come back to her when she tries. For now, though? She continues planning while Nephele is out of the room, organizing everything and definitely not planning on flustering her again in the near future. Why would she do that? That would be mean.

Nephele was glaring, having scrambled into a seated position as soon as she was free. It had no venom behind it, looking more like a cat that had fallen into a river and glaring at whoever witnessed it in embarrassment. She was pleased to hear C’Leena liked her singing, but she wouldn’t let her know that, not after that. Now, granted, as soon as she heard the word bath, Nephele’s ear twitched in interest, but she’d rather sit in a volcano than admit it.
She nodded stiffly at C’Leena as she left, deflating almost immediately when she left. Well, that was…a lot. She supposed she should get used to it, but Nephele still blushed when C’Leena stared at her for too long; this was a big jump. Shaking her head, Nephele huffed, slapping her cheeks a few times to snap out of it. Well now she was smiling like an idiot. Great.
Gathering her clothes for day, Nephele waited for C’Leena to come back. When she did, Nephele still couldn’t make eye contact, shy as anything as she muttered a quick “I’ll be back” and dipped out of the room. If Nephele could, she’d be drowning twenty times over from where she sunk underwater for a good thirty minutes.
When she returned, Nephele slowly approached C’Leena, settling her chin on her shoulder to watch what she was doing. She still didn’t speak right away, but she was significantly less flustered. Nephele watched her for a few minutes more, unable to completely read her handwriting but deciphering it a little faster by the day, before finally muttering:
“You’re prepared?” It was a simple statement, her aura calm if not a little antsy. It could be taken as a question or statement, and Nephele lifted her arms secure them around C’Leena’s middle. This time, she pointedly avoided tickling her. Very, very pointedly.

C'Leena looked over at Nephele as she returned, visibly brightening upon spotting her. She returns to her notebook, writing a few final things as Nephele rests her head on C'Leenas shoulder. Once she gets her final thoughts out. Something to note is that she's writing with her left hand, but every time she's seen with her rapier, it's always in her right.
Once she finishes, C'Leena closes the notebook and puts the pencil and book in her pocket. With the same arm that Nephele has her head resting on, she reaches back and lightly takes hold of her head, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek. "Just got everything done. Let me get you the gloves and we can get started, yeah? Theres going to be a decent bit of learning about the weapon itself before we get started, so just be prepared for some theory work before we get to the practical stuff."
Pulling out of the embrace, she moves to a corner of the room that has her rapier in it's scabbard and a pair of gloves nearby. Taking the gloves, they appear to be black gloves that reach to about mid-forearm. They look to be somewhat tight fitting, as well. She hands the gloves over to Nephele to put on as she goes and picks up her weapon.
The hilt of the weapon is a classic cup hilt and a black grip with a thin, silver spiral though it. The scabbard matches the hilt, with a black wooden scabbard and light silver engravings across the surface. C'Leena undoes the peace knot tied around the hilt and draws the weapon, being sure to keep it away from Nephele.
Looking over the blade, fine inscriptions can be seen along the edge. C'Leena recognizes these as various Lifesteal and Double Strike enchantments. It frankly was expensive as all hell to get done, as she's no professional on enchantment, but in the end it's probably saved her life more times than she'd care to admit.
"Now, first things first, test your flexibility in the gloves. Just roll your wrists and tell me if it's good, bad or 'eh'." she starts. As she speaks, she sheathes the weapon and redoes the knot. "Second, is that the weapon is enchanted. You do need to consciously activate these enchantments by pushing mana into the weapon, but I ask that you don't do that as it could be jarring. It's just Life Steal and Double Strike, so it's not like you'll stab me in the stomach accidentally, but it's better that you know.
"Third and final thing, is that this is a dual edged weapon, meaning that both sides and the tip are sharp as all fuck. DO NOT touch the blade, as it could very well cut the shit out of you, even through the glove. You know me, I like keeping my crap as best as they can be." You can confirm, that C'Leena often does sharpen the rapier and spends a lot of time doing so.
With the warnings out of the way, she smiles and hands the scabbard to Nephele. "For today, this is yours. Lose it and I'll.. Pull the same stunt as before again and I wont stop until it is found." She says. Shes both joking and incredibly serious at the same time. Her face and general speech patterns lean toward her joking than anything. "I wont apologize for that, by the way. It was funny as hell. Now come on, lets go back to that clearing from last night."
"Give me a tenner. I'll be back and then we can get started." She takes a bundle of clothes with her as she leaves the room, looking back in with a cheeky smile as the door closes. True to her word, she returns about 10 minutes later in different clothing. Instead of her usual Modern clothes, she's wearing clothes that Nephele had most likely picked out for her at some point. They're all loose fitting but because it was Nephele that picked them out, they actually look pretty damn good on her.
"Ready when you are, dal'n."

Nephele listened to C’Leena, hyper-focused on her instructions and rolling her wrist. Her hands were certainly smaller an thinner than C’Leena’s, but that honestly helped with the flexibility. She didn’t like how they felt exactly, and the length of her nails made them a little uncomfortable, but it was for her safety. With that in mind, Nephele nodded. “I think it’s good. Should be tighter around the wrist, though. That's bound to bug me at some point.”
She listened to the rest of the instructions and took the scabbard, rolling her eyes at the joke, fighting down the blush on her cheeks. She was less embarrassed now, but the memory still insisted. Nephele was already dressed, wearing a high-neck top without sleeves and stretchy pants that she figured would be better for movement. Again, her shoes were a simple precaution, walking out barefoot. C’Leena had never seen her wear any other shoes, the monk’s slippers dogged and sewn sloppily from where there were obvious tears in them. They were evidently the only pair of shoes Nephele wore.
“Let’s go.” Nephele was actually really looking forward to this, despite the fact that she knew damn well she was probably inept at this. Well, there was no point in scorning it without trying, right? Was that how the saying went? As she passed her, Nephele bumped C'Leena with her hip, shooting a goofy grin her way.
On their walk to the clearing, Nephele was mostly quiet, focusing on tying her hair back and whistling to herself.
