Red had never participated in a race before, at least not a terrestrial one. Upon learning of this event which the valley held so dear, she couldn't help but to sign up immediately. The racers were instructed to meet up at Thunderhoof Village a few hours in advance to register themselves and their mounts. The race would take them from the village and through the Hills of Braddock all the way up to the south-eastern most coast of the King's Valley. It was no small feat, but Red was excited to start.
Despite having arrived to the region on her own mount, Floyd the giant viper moray, she felt it would be more fair to the others if she utilized one of the event's complimentary mounts, something that went on land. The race went down along a coast so it wouldn't be impossible to win with Floyd, but she wanted it to be fair. Little did she know that the locals would not share her sentiment.
Upon arriving to the village, the sea elf stood in line at the sign up area where she'd enter her name and request to borrow a donkey. She'd never ridden one of those before, so that'll be exciting. Red looked around at her other competitors to see who she'd be up against. Lots of locals were participating, but luckily she spotted some fellow foreigners hanging about. This would be a great day, she was sure of it.

Amelia had also never participated in a race before, she knew she was at a huge disadvantage. She wasn't here to win, but just for some fun. And one of the locals saw she wasn't from around here, and gave her a couple coins to go join in the race. Never hurt to get a couple coins, and she was honest with her words. She joined, and now realized that may have been a mistake.
The locals were standing around and chatting up a storm, all having their own mounts ready to go. She never had a mount, needing to borrow one of the donkeys. Speaking of, she should probably go do that. She walked up to the line forming, where she would enter her name and request a donkey.
She stood behind a sea elf, their height making them stand well above her. She watched as they wrote down their name and requested the donkey, and she followed what they did. Writing down her name and asking for the donkey. She would be lying if she said she was a fan of this creature, or any other. She wasn't really an animal person, although some creatures were quite interesting.
