Traversing the forest is always peaceful, the small animal noises (talking about so much drama it's entertaining), fresh scents, even the hard terrain was do calming. I think of all the herbs that I could get this time, so many teatime partners had arrived that I needed to stock up on herbs for them! My excitement over fresh herbs diluted my attention till I heard it right in front of me. 1 "Help! Help!" Looking around for the noise, I look down and see a chicken running in circles screaming it's off. I calmly walk towards it placing my doll and hold my arms out. "You say you need help?" The chicken stops running in circles, running straight to my arms. I quickly grab the chicken and lift it up in a hug with my doll.2 "Yes! Yes! Want home! Need Keeper!" I was astounded, most creatures want food or unhooking traps. I looked right at them, "Do you know which way is home?" If my hypothesis is true then... "No! No! Turning and turning, rumbles scary!" My breath hitched, earthquakes, of course. I gave a warming smile, "I think I have an idea, are you willing to come along?" The head of the chicken bobbed like crazy. I quickly arrived at the village, chickens running everywhere. With a sigh, I look to the chicken I held. It was happy, great.

Amelia wandered the town, trying not to trip over the chickens as she traversed the area. She gave a frustrated sigh, accidentally kicking a chicken. It squawked, running around like it was a headless chicken. This was giving her a headache and testing her patience.
She looked around, spotting someone holding a chicken enter the town. She sighed again, guess she could at least get some help. She hurried over, nearly tripping over yet another chicken. "Ah, hello! I'm in a bit of a pickle here, could you help? These chickens got out from the earthquake and, well... they need to return unharmed. Could you help?" She gave a friendly and hopeful smile, not wanting to deal with this alone. She could, of course, but that would take both a long time and give her a large headache. She didn't like either of those that much, drat these brainless chickens. "Its alright if your a bit busy, I just wouldn't mind some help." She chuckled, shaking her head.
No sir, this was not something to do alone. She looked around, turning her gaze over all the chickens running around before turning it back to the one holding the chicken. "Besides, looks like you already caught one." She grinned, gesturing to the chicken.

This visit was only getting more and more complex. "Hello to you to, Amelia correct?" I watch her for confirmation, when I get it, I continue. "I have no problems helping," I give a long sigh. I look at all of the chickens at once, contemplating how to do it. I think back to how I got the one in my arms, inspiration hitting me. I look to the one in my arms and say," Is everyone here trying to get home?" The captured one nodded vigorously, I smile and place him down, shocking Amelia. I take a deep breath and yell, "STOP!" They all suddenly fall to the ground. I could feel my headache over this grow. I call out in a much calmer voice, "Stand up and line up if you want home." The reaction of pure understanding rushed the chickens to follow the one I left on the ground.
Feeling the complete confusion from the smaller girl, I smile and point to my necklace. "Magic item." I turn to the chickens, "Let's find your home," I point to the first house with a coop that I could see, "March forth, that a way!" I point and start walking forward, with about fifty chickens, give or take a few ten, following me.

She blinked and squinted, recalling the face. "Oh, Keyke? Almost didn't recognize you." She chuckled, smiling and nodding to her. She watched in awe as Keyke ordered the chickens around, marching them to a coop. Of course, a couple brainless chickens still ran around, ignoring the orders they were given. Amelia could deal with them, at least. She concentrated, raising a hand [1] as a vine rose from the ground.
Amelia gently wrapped the vine around a close chicken, careful of the thorns that lay upon the twisting vine. She placed the chicken at the coop, where the others were now running around. She looked around, scooping up another chicken that wasn't moving around, placing it back with the other ones.
She repeated this process, delivering all the chickens to the coop. All but one, for one was still incredibly agitated and running around like its tiny little life depended on it. She gave a frustrated sigh, grabbing the chicken as it ran towards her and deposited the wriggling thing into the vine, placing it with the others.
Amelia walked over, closing the gate on it and trapping all the chickens inside. "Thanks, that was much faster than I would have gone."

The gratitude was welcome, if a bit unnecessary, "It is fine, I was in the area and this place is so peaceful, I'd rather not be it not be so unkept." I walk out, seeing as she took care of the loose chickens, I come to the front door of the house we locked them behind. I reach to the door and give a little knock, in a pattern very different from how the chicken sound when pecking. It took a minute before the door was open, I gave a smile to the ones inside, who were trying to hold onto their own chickens. I look directly to the chickens, "Time to go home now, the vibrations are gone. Lets calm down now." The chicken once more latched onto the fact they could understand me, and quickly stopped their chaotic nature.
Looking at the relived family I speak up about what we had done. "Hey, um, we brought all the chickens we could find outside to the backyard. Is there any way you could contact the other families with runaway chickens and have them find theirs's?" Some of the members immediately agreed, racing past us to outside. The children, however, went to the back and looked to find the sea of chickens all calmly exploring the yard. I turned to Amelia, "Now time for the hardest part. Finding your own and the ones who steal."

Amelia nodded, looking around as people slowly approached, taking their time. Either they were trying to tell which chickens belonged to them from afar, so they could just go in and sweep them up, or they just didn't want them back. The latter made more sense, these things were quite the headache, and she had hardly seen the worst of their behavior!
Some people finally made there way to them, checking all the chickens. Comments and small arguments about whose were whose went up, but most were seemingly leaving satisfied that they had found theirs. Thank the gods for that, she had a bad enough headache already.
There was a couple chickens remaining, and no one coming to claim them. There also was a couple people arguing about if they took the correct chickens, making Amelia frowned. She never had livestock, and never really got it. To her, they mainly were just providing food. While it was important, she never got why everyone got so attached. Especially to these little rats.
She noticed someone hanging back, eyeing everything. "You there!" She called, frowning. "Are any of these yours? I'd like to be leaving shortly." Amelia watched them blink, then hurry over. They picked up the remaining chickens quickly, and started hurrying away.
"Wonder what hurry he's in." She commented, sighing with relief. Finally, this nightmare was over and she could go back to wandering around. After she washed up, of course. "Well, thank you for the help again and ending this little nightmare faster."

I stood amongst the chickens in the entire choice visiting. Talking back and forth between the chickens and owners. I quickly was able to find all who had a name, clarifying with the chickens who was their homeowner. The entire ordeal was chaos.
Luckly I was able to see my suppliers searching in the chickens. I did my usual greetings and explained to them all that had happened. They seemed more than happy to have me call for each of their chickens. After a bit of confirmation with each one, they promised that when I stop by later, my order will have a major discount. I simply smile and turn to Amelia to see how she is doing.
Of course, of freaking course. I watch the thief leave with the chickens Amelia so kindly offered to him. He was a common face around these parts, only for petty crimes like stealing eggs or little amounts of herbs. I let him be, the local officers will be getting a little tip off on where those ones went to later on.
I turn and walk to Amelia, the one who gave me this opportunity to connect to the police here. With a welcome smile, "It was no problem, knowing the people I get my teas from here, I would have had to help them anyway." I glance at the families who treasured the chickens like pets, the care clear in their faces. I glace back at Amelia, "Thank you for your help in finishing up what I could not." I do a basic curtsy to her.

Amelia smiled to Keyke. "Thanks again for the help, saved me a real big headache." She paused, then added. "Although I don't think its possible for me to never not get a headache from these things." She chuckled, shaking her head. Ah, these things were a huge headache, but at least her head wasn't exploding.
She looked around at all the happy people, holding their chickens close to them. Bah, she would never understand the love for those dratted little demons. All they did was waste money and energy to take care of them, and they could be so picky!
But enough about that, everyone had their chickens and were satisfied they were theirs. Thank the gods, she didn't have enough energy to deal with a fight. She turned to Keyke and smiled. "Well, guess I should be off. Chicken herding is all done now." She shook Keykes hand, giving her a firm and friendly handshake. "Nice to see you again, hope we cross paths sometime soon!"
Amelia called this as she walked away, heading for the exit of the town. A good walk should soothe her headache, she could always count on a good walk. She turned and waved to Keyke, smiling before continuing to walk away.
