As he clambered up the tree he was grateful for his gauntlets even more then just the protection they offered his hands, as in this case they made it increasingly less difficult to scale the gnarled tree by hand, literally. The conversation with Kamille was distracting as well which was needed as at various points he had come face to face with maggots and other undesirable insects during the climb, something that he had been bothered by since his childhood. Thankful for her words and the solace the provided in the moment he kept climbing until he was close enough to begin ripping at the vines that held his target hostage.
"I appreciate the other Kamille, I assume your stew is better then just okay though... Counting on others is... hard for lack of a better word. I would like to learn to though, if you have the time to teach it?", it wasn't the subtlest flirtation that he had ever made but it was also genuine and that perhaps would make it more charming then the words alone conveyed. Her words themselves had more or less be an open ended invitation so perhaps it wasn't reaching too far so to speak.
Listening to her her story as it were he spoke gently with purpose, "Sometimes we all have to leave the nest to truly fly right?... Part of me spent the majority of my life behind walls both real and intangible.... I think that was the me that wanted to be out and about in the real world.", The vulnerability in the moment dawned on him as he added on with more confidence in his voice, "What's your home like? I am curious how living on your own works to be honest.", he had spent his life in a militaristic home so living on your own and home were concepts that were very different for him.
"If you have a faster way down that would be lovely, I didn't really think about how to get back down after I grab it. I suppose I could just drop and let you blast me with another fireball? Its odd way to heal but its better then having a broken leg or two.", he let a nervous laugh leave him as he looked down towards her and flashed a coy smile her way.
Freeing the box he held it one handed as he curled it into his chest, keeping his left hand and feet dug into the tree itself.
